Return Chinese Version and Lock Bootloader - Xiaomi Mi 8 Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
I have a Chinese Xiaomi Mi 8 with Global Rom and unlocked Bootloader. I would like return to Chinese Rom in english and Re-lock bootloader because I want to use Google Pay, Is it possible or I would brick my device?
Thank you for advance.

Even if you'll install the Chinese firmware and lock bootloader you won't be able to use Google Pay.

Na. It's custom ROM. Don't do that

From what I have read in the different threads or forums is that you can flash a Global rom on your unlocked Chinese Mi8 but you cannot go back and flash and lock by going back to the Chinese rom.
IT WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE.
Take care and I would recommend you to not to mess around with re-locking the bootloader. It is better to be safe than sorry

Xiaomi Mi 8 256 GB global ROM

Hi,
I am interested in buying the new awesome Xiaomi Mi 8 Global ROM with 256 GB.
I've read many articles which confirm that there is such version of the smarphone but couldn't find any website which actually sell it. I saw only the 256 GB chinese version.
Is there really a 256 GB Global ROM version?
If not, is there any way to buy the 256 GB chinese version and use it outside of china? and what about the system language and localization is there any chance to put hebrew in it?
Thanks a lot!

There is on global version of the phone just yet. There is only chinese version with unlocked bootloader and global rom. IIRC global have hebrew as an option and if not the xiaomi.eu roms should have. If you really need global rom and locked bootloader I would suggest waiting a bit longer.

Sorry but I don't really understand all that bootloader thing.
What is this bootloader?
What happens if it is locked?
What happens if it is unlocked?
Thanks!

Because the bootloader will be unlocked, you'll have to root your device & hide your unlocked bootloader from Google Pay, if you just flash Global & not root, it won't work

If you re-lock the bootloader after flashing Global on a Chinese device it will brick..
Okay I'm unlocked and rooted with Magisk and Magisk hide. But Google pay still says this.

Yes you can, since it is Chinese version it already has bootloader unlocked, so it's even easier to install whatever you want

Don't lock bootloader with global ROM or you will hard brick your device.

Ok, so can I really flash xiaomi.eu/ROS/Globe without any risk? I am afraid of bricking it, I don't think I have warranty support on my country since it is a chinese version phone and I saw that the it is almost unbrickable.

Question Xiaomi flash tool

Hi, I have Xiaomi Mi 11 12.5.5.0(RKBEUVF), I would like to flash V13.0.4.0.SKBEUXM because I am not receiving updates on that operator ROM. My question is: can I lock bootloader afetr that or not? Can someone answer for sure? Did someone did it? I've read so many posts with confusing answers. I wolud apriciate answer form someone who did that. Thank you in advance.
If you want to flash a different ROM than the installed one, you must not close the bootloader under any circumstances. This inevitably leads to the brick!

false ! His rom is EUVF and He want to flash a EUXM rom. He must to unlock his bootloader, and he can relock it because it's the same region : EU . Personnaly , i bought my mi 11 with a EUOR rom and flash with a EUXM rom and relock it with no problem.

I actually agree with you. However, I was informed that closing the BL after flashing a different ROM than the one pre-installed leads to a brick. I keep my fingers crossed for pYdzin.

It's true with people who had a chinese mi 11 and lock it with a EU rom and vice versa. The most important thing is the region. If you have a EU mi 11, you Can relock it with all variant EU. EUXM, EUOR, EUVF ....

1. I have flashed 13.0.4.0.SKBEUXM and locked bootloader without any issues, thanks for the advice.
2. I have a copule of questions, did you flash 13.0.1.0 or 13.0.4.0? did you get those new cristilized wallpapers and new widgets? I did not, it looks like I am missing some MIUI 13 new features, so I am wondering if I should flas 13.0.1.0 first and upgrade to 13.0.4.0 thrugh OTA or fastboot update for 13.0.4.0 should include previous updates?
@pYdzin If you are looking new wallpapers, you have to change region for Switzerland. After that, you can find them in themes app. 13.0.4.0 include features from previous update.

You are right, these features aren't in EEA rom yet. I'm waiting for this as you. Maybe thé next update. Today only china and india have this features.

Question How can I change global redmi note 12 pro+ (without BL unlock)

Help me please?
How many method is there to change global in xiaomi?
Since your question is not explicit, you cannot change version (Global to EEA or others, etc.) or downgrade without unlocking the bootloader.
To summarize you can only update the installed version.
Now I am using this phone with china version. I bought it from china. But I don't like this version and I don't want to unlock bootloader. so I am finding other methods like hardware method(redmi 8a). But I am not a phone repairman.
Is there any other methods for rubypro? I really want to know.
(note: sorry for my eng skill)

The price of the motherboard and the labor will cost you relatively expensive and provided you find the part.
Edit:
Anyway you bought a Chinese version with soc Mediatek and:
Few or no development for the Mediatek soc
Impossible to re-lock the bootloader with a rom of a different version than Chinese.

If you install a golbal stock rom on a Chinese device and re-lock the bootloader, the phone is bricked.
You can't do this on a locked bootloader.
Global stock roms work on Chinese device and Xiaomi Eu rom as well.

Didn't i said the same... He will be stuck in miui recovery with a message "This MIUI version can't be installed on this device""
And u can't unlock bl (In this device case as we have mtk exploit still working we can flash via sptool)
the OP concerned the change of version not an update. who will download a global rom for it installed on a Cn rom with a locked bootloader?
