just tested, not working on mokee 8.1
I think we need the camera and the complete NeoVision set from this ROM, Z17(NX563J)5.18.9.14 http://ui.nubia.cn/rom/detail/42?toBrowser. To make it work properly whithout crashing I think somtething more than than just extracting the camera app is needed. Need the gallery and maybe the nubia account app as well as all those are intermingled with each other. I just don't know exactly how to do all this. Is there someone over here skilled enough to do this?
No crash for me. No nubia account needed. Just stock hal, libmmcamera, mct, app.

I recently installed mokee 8.1 on my Nubia Z17S (called also Archos Diamond Omega in France) and everything is perfect... excepted the "by default" Mokee camera software. I think that the dual camera is not used by the current Mokee application and this is why I would like to install the original Z17S nubia softaware you have ported to Z17.

How to install? - Step by Step!
Firstly you need your ROM, which the S7 Camera port supposed to. (Example: NormaV11_singhking83.zip)
Open the ROM .zip file and delete the folder cameradata (/system)
Now delete the folder SamsungCamera3 (/system/priv-app)
If the two folders are deleted open the [v2.0.1]S7Cameraport.rar file and put all the folders into your ROM .zip file (/system)
If you do this, close the ROM .zip file and flash your ROM.

Just tried that out after complete backup
And,
It does not work
Device doesn't boot
It gets stuck at samsung bootanimation
Just restored backup from twrp recovery
I didn't modify the rom zip file because I didn't want violate any developer's conditions.
I am using the Dr. Ketan M6 and he did restrict users from modifying the zip. So respecting his condition and his efforts I did not modify the zip file .
A great thanks to all the Developers who work so hard to bring such great functionalities to our devices !

In your ROM.zip (for example NormaV9bysinghking.zip) you have to delete the folders cameradata under
/ system and SamsungCamera3 under / system / priv-app.
You do not have to set permissions.
You have to convert the files cameradata and SamsungCamera5 from the .rar file S7CameraPortbyTheDev1711.rar to your ROM.zip (for example, NormaV9bysinghking.zip)

Thanks for the port. Works in dr ketan rom, just follow op instructions. Some feedback from me. Slow motion doesn't work, selfie camera modes doesn't works, low light photos have more noise than the stock camera (tried it in same conditions). On the other hand double tap home button to open works pretty fast! Open Gallery through camera to see the photo you shoot has no lag at all..!photos at night with flash, day photos and video (60fps etc) works like stock. So for 90 % of the shots i prefer th s7 camera due to the speed! And something i forgot hdr doesn't work.

Hdr toggles (auto, on, off) works but i don't have an hdr photo.. All modes produce same picture like auto.. Maybe it is rom related..
This MIUI Rom is very close to stable and have tons of features, it comes with preinstalled play store. If you are looking for MIUI 9 Rom and this would be the best One.

I installed it and im very happy, the android version is 7.0 the battery works great, is very fluid, I installed magisk on it and works. The gestures of OP5 works well. I installed in OP3, is the best version of MIUI out there for OP3 IMO. I hope this is useful, if you have any question i will answer them.

No more problem of Camera for good photos with Pure Vanilla
I have got the Phh Pure Vanilla to work alongside with Gcam V6.
After many attempts, here is the steps that get it to work 100%
1- Flash Latest Mokee (Link in OP)
2- Reboot and complete first setup
3-Reboot to recovery to clean flash Phh Vanilla AOSP from here https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850505855 (Thread linked in OP)
and reboot to recovery before first boot
4-Flash GZR Gapps or MindTheGapps (Open Gapps seems to be too large according to the error message I got with Open. Also, not the gapps won't flash if you do it in one go with the rom)
5- Wipe cache and reboot to system
6- Complete setup still you get to the home screen ( you will see Google Service has stopped, ignore it.)
7- Go to the applications list before you enter your Google Account, and give full permission to both Google Play and Google Play Services
8- Now you can set up your Google Account

Absolutely zero lag
I found that brightness adjustment and vibration for back and recents is not working. Other than that it is super fast and smooth lol, I'll still daily this rom :good:

Tested on AEX, Device model ALE-L21. May work on Marshmallow Roms but I don't know.
To check if it's working go on terminal and type su, enter, and type "dumpsys SurfaceFlinger"
I don't know if it's working 100%, I'm not an actual developer.
If you run into any problems, reply to this thread and I will do my best to help you.
If your apps don't start up, just reflash your rom and this zip following instructions (no need to wipe anything)

Hi, thanks for this fix!
It actually works, BUT for a limited time.
After having flashed it, I check if HWC is enabled, and the terminal say so.
But after a bit of time (I cannot quantify it) the HWC get disabled again (I notice some lags, and through terminal I indeed see "disabled").
What can I do in order to make this fix permanent?

I installed Gcam to my Miui 10.2.4 system. After this, my camera started to lag and freeze. Because of that, I installed Lineage Os 16.0 but none of the rear cameras were working. Then I tried installing some other custom ROMs but I just couldn't get rear cameras to work. What can I do about it?

Create a folder inside the internal storage and name it Gcam, inside that one create another folder called configs and copy the xml file there.
Fire up the camera and double tap the grey area between the shutter and pictures, and select restore from the pop up menu restart the camera and you are done

try flashing miui fastboot rom with mi flash . a full flash that wipes everything.

Same happened to me a few months earlier. Flashing MIUI 10 (the last version then but i cant remember now.) fastboot file through mi flash tool with wiping everything solved it for me.
