Tasks Edge Panel - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

So I've been experimenting with the Tasks Edge Panel and I've come across a problem. I want to add shortcuts like driving directions created as a widget from the Google Maps app. The issue is that I can only add them to the panel if they exist on my home screen somewhere. If I delete the widget from my home screen then they disappear from the panel. Not much point in having the shortcut on the panel if I have to have it somewhere else too.
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

No suggestion, but this has been fixed, for a certain value of fixed, in the October 2018 security update.
If you reset your phone, your shortcuts will be stuck in the Tasks Edge settings, and you will not be able to remove them. New entries will disappear just like always.

I ended up just using a different edge panel that is for widgets only. It's a 3rd party add on but it works ok

Strange...Shortcut just appears??

anyone else ever have a shortcut or icon just appear on their home screen without having added it?
When i got up this morning....my homescreen was how i had it set up with only 4 icons/shortcuts to apps as i haven't done much customization since last flash.
Drove 5 minutes to work......turned on phone and noticed there was a Shortcut to my ATT Now Contact. I didn't add it manually and its not like you could easily do it on accident.

Google Home App - Shortcuts

At the weekend I read that we now had the ability to create shortcuts in the Google Home app for the Google assistant and so my Google home, I set a couple up to try and it worked... But today I have gone to edit them and the shortcut options have gone! There is no app updates and hasn't been any since 15th May... Has anyone else still got these options or have Google pulled them??
The main problem is that these shortcuts are stuck "somewhere" and I cannot edit them...
You didn't by chance change your device localization? Like so you can have a British accent?

Questions for one hand operation

Been using the one hanx operation in the Samsung good lock app. However I messed something up and had to uninstall and reinstall the app. However now facing some minor issues. Before reinstalling the app today, I had an option to swipe up and the notification panel would show. Now the only option I can see is swipe and open quick panel which works but it shows me the quick panel and not just the notifications which I want to see. Any thoughts please?
There was an update to the app which might have removed that option although I can't recall if it existed or not. I use finger sensor gestures to view notifications.

Need help fixing One UI issues

Finally i upgraded my note 9 to pie. Battery life is certainly better. But I have 2 issues:
I have set a custom screen dpi in developer options to 455 dpi. In oreo it was perfect but in pie somewhere the text is too small like names below the icons, widgets and somewhere the text is too big like clock text in the status bar and text in device care app. Also the icons are way too big in proportion to the text below. Am I missing some setting?
I had set swipe down gesture to open the notification panel under homescreen settings in Samsung launcher. It was working perfect in oreo but in pie it sometimes work 1 in 3 tries and sometimes even 1 in 5 tries, i.e., i swipe down on the screen and nothing happens. Whereas swipe up to open the app drawer works perfect without any issues. Strangely if I disable the notification panel gesture, the default action for swipe up or down becomes opening app drawer and it works just fine without any problem. Anyone else noticed this strange behavior?
If not already, wipe the partition cache as that usually helps with most issues after update.

For the first question: Why not use the scaling, font size, zooming options from the settings menu?
For the second one: no, for me it works perfectly fine.

The scaling options available under display settings cannot go till 455 dpi.

I've got the same problem you mentioned in #2. It's pretty annoying! It's like it's become less sensitive, or the activation area is now higher and in the middle, or your swipe needs to be longer.
Not sure for the first question, but Nova Launcher from the play store (as do many other good launchers) have multiple gestures. Nova Launcher has the gesture that you pull down on the home screen to open notifications and also has swipe up to open app draw as well as many other gestures. I use Nova Launcher with those gestures and it works very well.
I have the same problem swiping down it's so annoying
And strangely flicking up for apps works so easy but more pressure is needed for downwards? Must be a software issue

About swipe down, do you have any widget on your homescreen? If you swipe down on a widget, it gets the swipe gesture instead of the homescreen itself so the notification panel doesn't shows up.

No widgets. I also enabled to view screen touches in developer options. And I can see its registering my swipes everytime but the notifications panel doesn't open everytime.

Question Vertical Recent Apps

Is there any way at all to change the recent app list from horizontal to vertical? Willing to try any mod if there are any available. Thanks in advance.
Edit: I also have the snapdragon version.
Rotation lock on then turn phone 90 degrees ;-)
If you use Good Lock the Home Up module recently had an update that added a Task Changer. This new Task Changer allows you to display the recent apps in grid, list and stack layout. I've been using the new grid layout for a while now. There used to be a separated Good Lock Module that had similar functionality.
