Cheap silicon case, no screen protector.

For those of us who don't need / want a heavy, thick leather cover to protect the Galaxy Tab, there's a cheap alternative: so far I'm thoroughly impressed with the silicon skin I purchased from eBay, it adds grip, provides essential protection to the hard plastic case, and doesn't interfere with the tablet orientation and accessories (and adds virtually no bulk to the form factor).
As for a screen protector...well, I feel it is totally unnecessary due to the modern strong glass material used nowadays, at best it adds a visible layer that compromises the viewing angles (perhaps less so with the more expensive types, I don't know...).
Oh, and I kept the factory-fitted plastic sheet at the back of the tablet, as it definitely serves a purpose I would have inadvertently scratched the tablet's body a few times if it wasn't for this protective layer (before I purchased the silicon skin). I left it on because I sometimes remove the silicon skin, so it remains a useful feature.

Mine is totally smooth at the back. The other model shown in another discussion thread has curved areas of grippy silicon at the back, easy to see on the photos.
More importantly, check that the silicon "lips" at the front only just wrap the edges of the device, you don't want them to come too far onto the glass surface, as it's better to have access to the surrounding display surface for touch/swipe gestures and thumb grab.

Hi-breed case

The problem with the current line of Note 2 cases as of today is that they are either very thin or very thick. I was after a case that gave total protection... while retaining compatibility with the current wireless charging mods, but after an exhaustive search, I found nothing !
I have the Rock flip case which is nice but does not protect the top and bottom of the Note 2 and does not work with wireless charging, also have the "real thing" Samsung TPU case but does not have a flip cover and is very slippery, even though it is not wet! Also have some of those very cheap and thin cases, and finally took delivery of a plastic bumper case.
The product I have is a combination of the thin case and the plastic bumper case. I just cut the sides of the thin case, slotted the remaining part onto the bumper case and ......

I had to sand the back of the thin plastic though as it was slippery..... brushed effetc as Samsung calls it:
Only drawback of this case is it does not protect the top right corner of the note, and of course no flipper !!!
The lip of the bumper case feels like silicon/rubber but it does not easily slip off. I am quite satisfied with this case and I think I will keep using it until I find what I want in the near future...

I've been wanting a nexus 4 like bumper case for our phone. However they all have that antennae cutout. I like what you did with the back of it

They're normally pretty horrendous.
My experience of a few I used on my S6 Edge was it only had adhesive on the frame so there was an air gap between the screen and the protector which reduced touch sensitivity and caused terrible glare, plus it was really hard to use the screen edges.
Is this any different?

Review :
This is by far my favourite case from Ringke.
I got the frost gray color option from amazon for 9$. It's a semi transparent case. This allows the back logo or skin to be seen through.
Look and feel :
The case has the cutouts at the right places. The edges are smoothly finished. The back n sides have a soft touch finish, giving a premium feel. The cutouts for the power and volumes keys are precise. I don't have a gear VR so haven't tried with it. The wireless charger works as expected.
I have a skinomi screen protector which extends to the edges. Most cases do not work well this protector and would eventually cause the protector to peel at the edges. With this case, there aren't any such issues.
Being a slim case, the protection offered is the bare minimum. There is a elevated area on the rear to protect the camera. On the front, the top and bottom are slightly raised to protect the screen in case the phone is placed face down.
The other good part is that all 4 sides of the frame are covered, protecting the metal from dents.
This case, this may not take heavy falls, but offers the minimal protection I was looking for.
Overall I would rate this 9/10 for look and feel, and 5/10 for protection and 10/10 for compatibility with screen protector and accessories.

I have the black color one, and it meshes nicely with a black S7E. It seems like there's no case at all.

Good Case and Screen Combo (Alixpress)

Hi All,
Just in case anyone is looking for a cheap case / glass combo. I got this from Alixpress, and I'm happy with it. Case has a nice texture to it, and the tempered glass seemed to be very good quality.

can you post a picture of the edge of the case from the screen side? Is it above the screen or flat one and the screen touches the surface when the phone lies upside down?
How about the space between the case and the camera? Will the protection glass for the camera fit inside?

The edge of the case has a lip, so it protects the screen when placed face down. I have a small piece of film over my camera. I think glass should fit fine also.

Thank you for the suggestion, Im considering to buy it. @MarkRobert the case seems a bit thicker than the original clear case the phone comes with. Is that true?

Just checked and it is a tiny bit wider, but feels much better in the hand. Less slippy. It's a bit firmer I suppose.

Nillkin is the best when it comes to protecting the camera. Some camera protection lenses doesnt have perfect cutouts like mine. When i toggle flashlight, whole protection glass becomes cloudy. Nillkin case got a sliding camera protector.
