FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
- Backup your personal data (Important)
- Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
- Remove all kind of security locks on your device before flashing.
- Boot to recovery.
- Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
- Flash the ROM
- Reboot to recovery
- Flash Gapps
- Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
- Reboot your device.
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 14.0 doesn't require flash on every dirty flash depending on the device, some devices need you to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine

Where are gapps link
Well, I will report the problems I had here with the ROM:
WIFI and 4G do not work, as soon as you finish installing the GAPPS the ROM starts but the message appears that Google stopped working, then when you install it without the GAPPS it works but without WIFI and 4G, I hope they get it put in good condition, the project seems very good and very well done, thanks to the developers for trying to bring hi Android pie to us !!!!
Sorry for my bad English. :crying::crying:

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
Include your OOS base versions in reports. (Eg: 9.0.0, OB7, 9.0.2, etc.)
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: Which TWRP do I use?
A: Use only latest TWRP from HERE
Q: Which GApps do I use?
A: GApps is not included in the ROM package. You can use any, but nano is recommended.
Q: Do I have to wipe data if coming from another ROM?
A: Yes, I will not be providing help/support to users that haven't wiped data when coming from another ROM.
Q: How often will I be getting updates?
A: The plan is for weeklies, if unavoidable circumstances come up, please don't spam the thread. I will release a build as soon as one is ready.
Q: Does VoLTE/VoWiFi work?
A: If you have VoLTE/VoWiFi on OxygenOS working, you should have it working on AOSiP. (Needs testing)
Q: I ended up on CrashDump mode, how do I get back to my system?
A: Theres a valuable thread HERE which can help restoring your system, you WILL LOSE ALL DATA and I will not be blamed under any circumstances.
Q: Is the ROM official?
A: Yes, the rom is official.
Q: I use Telegram, where can I find help on that platform?
A: There is a common AOSiP Group Chat for all devices, the link is HERE
Q: Does SafteyNet pass and is the SELinux Enforcing?
A: Yes, SafteyNet does pass and SELinux is Enforcing.
Q: What OOS Base firmware do I use?
A: Anything above OOS 9.0 should work fine, i recommend being on the stable OOS builds but the Beta OOS updates should work fine too
Q: I'm having high idle drain, please fix.
A: I'll need more data from you to figure it out, Install BetterBatteryStats and let me know about what it tells you after 3-4 charge cycles. Please do not report issues when having apps like Greenify, Naptime, Wakelock blocker etc.
Q: The vibration sliders aren't taking into effect, they are the same value as they were before increasing/decreasing
A: They aren't the same value. The vibration tested during sliding the slider doesnt reflect the actual value, you can experience the actual value during an incoming call/notification/system vibration.
Q: Does Android Auto and Google Pay work?
A: I've had several users report that Android Auto works!
Google Pay is now 100% working from 20180127.
NOTE: I can't test both of these but i trust my users and testers
Q: My phone is stuck on the "Bootloader is unlocked" warning page, why isn't my system booting?
A: Since there are a bunch of scripts being executed when the device is sent a power on signal, it might take some time to boot. Don't panic, your system will boot fine after some time.
Q: When I'm updating via OTA in the Updater, do I have to reflash GApps and Magisk? Will TWRP stay after I update?
A: When updating via OTA, GApps and Magisk will remain intact. Have a look in /system/addon.d/. Anything that is present inside that folder will stay after the update.
TWRP will not stay since A/B devices don't have a recovery partition for it to actually stay. You will be reverted to the stock recovery.
Awesome man!

So you mentioned in bold NOT to wipe system. Wouldn't that cause a dirty flash leaving bits of OOS installed? I'm new to A/B devices and how roms work, so forgive my lack of expertise here.

All went well while flashing. After flashing the ROM and wiping cache and data, and then TWRP installer and rebooting to TWRP, my filenames were then all scrambled, and I can't figure out where Magisk and gapps are located. I think it has something to do with encryption. I swiped to allow modifications. Thanks in advance

Had the same issues with TWRP, even after fastbooting TWRP. Also, the same issue as with the Pixel Experience rom that is floating around...VoLTE at least for Verizon is not working.
Well making calls with this rom doesn't work. I can not hear the caller and he cannot hear me. I tried with the stock dialer and Google dialer.

Some things to note
Hi everyone!
This is just my corner where I drop the builds of AOSiP DerFest that I personally use. They do contain a few customisations, like a custom feature and other goodies that I personally need. I'm posting this here in case somebody finds them to be useful.
Nooby Disclaimer:
I'm not a developer and just because I've got a thread here, doesn't mean I fully know what I'm doing when modding or building ROMs. What I publish is used by myself personally and thereby tested as daily driver. If something still breaks and your phone doesn't survive the smoke test, that's your problem and not mine.
Builds will mostly cater towards my needs if I have any special wishes with the hopes that the changes are useful or interesting for someone else as well (won't be too deep changes I think).

Do I still need to flash the vendor.zip if I'm in 9.0.8? Just asking because following the Decrypt procedures does not have flashing vendor.zip step.
Can I dirty flash this over the other AOSIP?
When a new android version arrives, I wait for the custom ROM with all the goodies I want and this is the one on Pie. Great work
Official or unofficial? Which is better?

Anyone here who can answer my question regarding the significance of flashing vendor.zip in my decrypted device? Because in the Decrypt thread there is no such step in the procedures. TIA

If you've installed OOS 9.0.8 before, you can ignore the vendor.zip.
Vendor.zip has nothing to do with encryption, it just updates your vendor partition without having to flash the whole OOS. (Although I never experienced any problems with 'outdated' vendors)

So it means if I'm already in OOS 9.0.8 I will skip the flashing vendor.zip and somehow it is like dirty flash. Am I right? Correct me if I'm wrong. TIA

Therefore, from now on the steps in Decrypt tutorial in clean flashing any ROM which is flashing OOS twice can be replaced permanently with just 1 step here which is flashing only the vendor.zip?

Read "installation instruction".. while updating from previous version i usually wipe system vendor and cache, then flash rom and Gapps.
Hei hk96
Many thx for this lovely Rom. I have installed it yesterday and it really work very smooth.
I updated it from Lineage OS 16 - I know, once I like a Rom I like to leave the phone. Never change a working phone
However, I struggled a bit with the installation: After flashing the Rom and Nik GApps, the phone always rebooted into TWRP again.
Only flashing the Rom then Lineage OS has started normally. So I tried to figure it out where the problem came from. Even with another GApps (open GApps), I had the same problem.
I could finally solved it after installing Rom and GApps, then make a Factory Reset on TWRP. Afterwards, the phone started as expected. Not sure if this is the usual case as I don't flash often. But if anyone struggling as well, this may help.
Thx again and enjoy it.

Does anyone have any experience with this rom? How does it behave? Power consumption, moto mods and so on?
It seems to me that the rom is encrypted because it does not allow me to access the phone

Awesome ROM! Stable, smooth, responsive and battery friendly.
@HeltonMax - thank you for your work, now I understand why you have abandoned the RR project
To everybody reporting bugs - I think the key is to install it properly: 1. fresh stock Pie, 2. twrp 3.5, 3. double format, 4. wipe everything, including internal memory, 5. flash rom and install all the stuff from scratch - not from backup. At least I did it this way and it worked like a charm.
@HeltonMax : four issues/questions though:
1. incoming calls - always vibration, then increasing ringtone - regardless of ringing option I choose (Settings -> Sound -> Incoming calls vibration) - is it some glitch or am I doing something wrong?
2. didn't find option to wake the phone with volume keys - is it present at some secret hidden place?
3. didn't find the option to define lockscreen shortcuts - for example camera on the right and some widget on the left. Is it possible somehow?
4. I really miss System Profiles option (Car, Default, Silent - and so on, with bluetooth triggers - which is very useful when pairing phone with car each time). Would it be possible for you to include this functionality?
Best regards @HeltonMax and all the DotOS crew!
@HeltonMax : about the above 4 points - I found some additional info about no. 1: disabling Pocket mode causes vibration to work normally. Enabling it causes that on incoming call there is only one vibration, then only sound and no vibration. Can the Pocket mode be set somehow, or this has to work that way? I mean that vibration in Pocket mode would be useful
Best regards!
Hello,
I have tried to install this Rom
But my phone does not start with the rom
"Error: failed to load Kernel!"
I have read that the firmware is needed
"
ROM Firmware Required: ALBUS_PPS29.133-30_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml"
How do I update this?
Greetings Sebastian

Would you say its good enough to upgrade from RR right now?
Yep. Equally battery friendly. Full moto mod battery and jbl support. Unfortunately no as customizable as RR - but on the other hand Android 11, which is good. I would definately stay on this rom and use it as a daily driver, but in a meantime some bluetooth connection issue emerged - I've reported it to HeltonMax, still awaiting for response (the man is busy I guess)
Wait a while, maybe HeltonMax will figure it out - I'm really counting on it!
Right now I'm on PE by jeangraff30, but unfortunately it likes juice a bit too much - although it is rock solid stable and really good looking, I have to admit
Which RR do you use?
@Neogx : after some updates (Android System Webview for example) this ROM behaves better and better, almost perfect. I think you could already try it, it is already perfect successor of RR. Last three days I've been using it as a daily driver - and no complaints, only some short wishlist. We will see how HeltonMax will react to it
Two issues so far:
1) JBL mod volume is only 0 or 100% - no steps between... with the last version 20210517 it works OK - thank you!
2) Android Auto doesn't allow to use phone, although the access is granted in Applications submenu. I've tried all the hints I have found - but it seems to be some internal system problem. Correct me please if someone knows a way to fix it.
Overall impression besides those two: great ROM! Thanks @HeltonMax !
Yep, actually very good ROM, I'm using it for about 1 month and it was very stable, without hiccups and reboots. Just two questions, 1) is there an option to change the music with volume buttons? Usually the majority of ROMs have this option included, but I couldn't find it on this Rom and 2) is there a posibility to disable screen gestures while the navbar is also disabled? I would like to use only fingerprint for navigation, without screen gestures. Anyway, thanks for making this ROM possible

To disable on-screen gestures: nav_disable, then go to settings / system / gestures and activate the three buttons on the screen
@Helton, First of all: thanx for your work, Bro'!
Second: I've seen the Official (5.1 version) release of the DotOS in the DotOS website. The Golden question: can I flash the 5.1 over the 5.0 version? Or I wait your release here?
Peace and love for you all! Big hug from RS-Br.
Very, very nice rom! I've flashed the last unofficial version with CameraGo and it works almost perfect.
A couple of issues though:
1) Android Auto still doesn't want to use the phone app. I've checked the same configuration (AA version and permissions) on Havoc (also by HeltonMax) - and it works OK, so it seems that there's something missing in the rom itself,
2) how the photo resolution in CameraGo can be changed? Or it is just what it is and cannot be changed? It would be odd...
3) after installing youtube app I can send it's picture through wifi to my samsung tv, but when I try to send the phone screen through system Send Screen - it searches a device for a while, and that's it - never finds any...
4) I've disabled the g-assistant and would like to assign screen recording function to a left shortcut in lockscreen. How can I do this?
Great job @HeltonMax! Congratulations on going official. Did you think of going official also with Havoc rom?
