Note 9 Pie Alpha/Beta (updates on the XDA Portal) - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hey guys. The Pie alpha for the Snapdragon Note 9 is coming soon. This will be the same as the S9 but for us Note users. You can expect a video and a couple articles on the XDA Portal, xda-developers.com. We will have install guides and files. There might be files going around in the forums from some users, but I don’t recommend using those. The portal will have the best files with the fastest download speeds and more accurate instructions and bug lists. I will personally test it before posting it for you all. It is coming soon, keep an eye out for it.
-Max
All new builds will be added to firmware.science once that gets up and running again.

Thanks. Do you think an Exynos alpha will be released at some point too?

To be completely honest I don't know about Exynos Alphas. There will be betas. I was told they are going to be similar to last year date wise. 6 updates, one every 2 weeks.

Gonna have files for the U1 as well?

Sorry, it will only be for the N960U.

Can I convert a n9600 to N960U unlocked ? I don't need the dual sim and it seems to be the identical version. I ideally want to use science. Firmware's flashable updates

Theoretically, you could. You would also need to edit the OTA and flash it with TWRP.

Actually it's testing for S10, that's the reason they are testing on S9.
They did same things on S8 last year, because they need release S9...
Just guessing.

Just a little secret they are testing for them self on a s10 so there is no need for s9
Its just that THE S9 NEEDS A SOFTWARE UPDATE

we got screwed by At&t and samsung.

The 3 other carriers were eligible for the nougat beta, and only At&t was left out. Anyone else switch to the tmobile firmware to try and participate? Or any other carriers firmware?
I have another thread on this topic : http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-s7-edge/help/android-7-0-1-beta-t3496624
Someone on my thread said that they tried flashing the T-mobile firmware and they are no longer accepting people to beta test nougat so there is no option for us.
I managed to install the tmobile firmware, get registered, now it's just a waiting game. I can try and get the Ota from my system and upload it, sprint already has theirs extracted and vzw hasn't even rolled out yet.

So you have a ATT device with T-mobile software flashed waiting for beta update? I really wanted to try this out as well. let us know what's up.
Yes, I'm registered. Not sure if I'll get "selected" but I am successfully registered.

In my opinion, not very much, but if you flashed the U firmware ever it'll be easy.

Who knows. I'd like to be an optimist here and say they already have the nougat working perfectly on the AT&T version there for no beta testing needed :fingers-crossed:
Verizon just stopped participation in the Beta. So no more Beta updates moving forward for Big Red.

Note 9 SM-N9600 One UI Pie?

Is there a one ui pie firmware for us to sideload? Can someone point me to the proper instructions to do so? This way I don’t mess with and break my note 9. Thanks! Hopefully with Pie Gcam will work better!
Worked for me.

Correct me if I am wrong, you have a Exynos, and I have a snapdragon. This will not work.

Thanks for the tip but this is for the 960U only, I don't think it works on the 9600 and I don't want to risk it
also does anyone happen to have sn-n9600 tgy ark3 firmware direct link so I can download? sammobile takes too long on free
Are there versions in this beta version?

Once it's released I'm sure there will be links to the firmware here, and it will also get pushed to your phone through OTA.

Unless you're on REALLY old firmware, like a year old, you can't root it anyway.
And no one has a link, because it hasn't been released yet.
And there isn't Verizon-specific firmware. That ended with Oreo when Samsung introduced BYOD firmware to the Note 8 firmware. Now all carriers push the same exact firmware.

N960F Exynos

Hello,
We're at March 17, and I still haven't received the Pie update on my European unlocked variant,
Does anyone might have an idea on why is this happening? when searching for updates it says latest have been already installed while my current security patch stands on Nov.2018...
I've read that the March security update started rolling out for my variant yet it's still stuck back there, help would be appreciated. ^~^|
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I've seen that but I don't really have time to do that menually, that's why I'm asking if there's any chance anyone knows what's up with that or how long it is going to take to receive the update.

I'm pretty sure that only Samsung can help you with that.
Anywhere you ask here, you will get the same answer - try a SIM from a different carrier to trigger the update, or flash the update manually once, and then it starts updating automatically from then onwards.

Use Sammobile or you can use a tool called SamFirm that will find the latest firmware for your device.
