Just got a replacement note 8 does this lool normal? - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

..

Can anyone help please ?are my wallpers corrupted or something.?I'll return the phone tommrow for another note 8 I think if nobody can tell me if this is normal or not i assumed in the note 8 section there wpuld be note 8 owners?.cheers boys

Lol try a different screen saver.... you keep showing the same lockscreen pic but different colors...

Im asking if that nasty looking gradient is normal to see that defect on the orange lock screen amd the purple lockscreen.the last 2 pics were to show that they don't have the defect .
That's what I'm asking.its not really funny just a very simple question.so ovbiously nobody owns a note 8 here apart from me .So I'll return this tommrow and get a replacement. Thanks for all your amazing help guys jeez smh

Idk man i cant see any bad gradient

Ok cheers mate. Btw to see the issue I had the brightness up high in the dark so the always on display was very bright then the poor gradiut is visable easily.your pic shows thay the brighmess is not up high ,also its only the orange wallper and the grey one look bad, the blue and the purple one look great smooth gradiunt ,i think I'll return it in morning but I won't be shocked if they all have this issue on these 2 infinity wallpapers.so I'll find out soon if the infinity wallpapers have some how corrupted themselves some how when I swap this phone for another tommrow, In normal conditions it's not very visable unless you really look for it. But it's not nice imo at night in a dark room

desktop clock_changing color from green to blue

has anyone or can anyone modd the desktop clock while being docked from the glowing green to like a dark blue or cyan color?
I don't have a Dock. What's glowing? The trackball or the screen?
he means the clock. its green for a reason, the green pixels have the longest life and blue has the shortest life.
but if you really wanted blue, im sure its possible.
adam beat me to it, oh well
the blue leds in amoled screens have a horrible lifespan. to quote wikipedia
"blue OLEDs historically have had a lifetime of around 14,000 hours to half original brightness (five years at 8 hours a day)"
green leds have 2-3 times the lifespan depending on the screen. plus, green is the easiest color for the human eye to see so it makes sense to have it as a night clock.
i know this doesn't really answer your question. But this is the reason why it's green and why i don't think anyone has tampered with it.

How to do Sceen test +Banding on Windmill wallpaper?

I would like to know how can i check the screen of my new phone for dead pixel, patches etc.
I have already tried *#0*# method, but i want to check with light colors.
Some apps are there in market, but i dont think they support HD resolution.
Next, i can see horizontal lines across screen whenever i use the live wallpaper "Windy weather", its the one with windmills. The lines are especially visible during daytime in the wallpaper... so is it just a problem due to lower resolution of the wallpaper?
I havent seen any other color problem yet, except the above.
Look long and hard enough and you will find something that bothers you.
I'd say just enjoy the device.

I agree with you and i am happy wid my purchase, i just wonder is this because of low-res pic or its a minor banding.
Update: I am also finding horizontal lines in the Sky when playing original angry birds...

Any software incompatibilities?

I am thinking about whether to wait for the Note 2 or get the S3, as the resolution is quite high on the note (1280x800), does that create any software incompatibilities? (ie: Apps class it as a tablet?)
so far I have a animated wall paper failed, it display a black border....
for most app, I think the dev will update the app pretty quick. oh I had a game displaying bordering in the title screen, and the dev fixed it real quick after I sent him mail.
resolution problem is endless......this is android. there is freedom

I played a tank game today and it had black lines down side on my S2.
Think I'll get the S3 then if the Note 2 is worth it I'll sell it then buy that.

Camera filters

I've been with the note series for a while at least through every iteration.... Now back on the note 2 they had 3 filters that were really good then kind of disappeared. They were "red-point" "blue-point' and I believe " green and yellow point" and they basically greyed out every color except the one refrecend in the name and they took really cool pictures.... Is there a way to get those back in the stock camera app??? It would be really cool to have those on this beast.
Dude I have a sick one you can't even find it in the Samsung store no more. Didn't have luck finding it on my note 3. It's called "old filter" basically gives me this really cool filters one from 1940s, 1960s 1970 1980. They look amazing on this camera and screen.
Sent from another Galaxy! Note the difference!

not sure i can live with it for 18months tho!
It depends on the light I think. Looking at it under artificial light (yellowish) I agree it does have a hint of a pinkish tinge to it, but in normal daylight I think it looks a silver gray...titanium grey in fact!:laugh::laugh:

not at all as well - and apple seems like the company to make it pinkish not huawei
always comes back to effing apple!
It's not pink at all imho, it just picks up color from the surroundings. It's more reflective I guess.
