Did you get any info? The touchscreen in my device has degraded over the last year or so. I read elsewhere that the touch can still be replaced independently. Some shops in Hyderabad for example.

Oh. OK. I need to look for a new secondary device then. Right now I can remotely control land from my Poco F1 using TeamViewer Host app but obviously it's not very convenient. Hopefully the current situation improves.

Touch Screen not working

Hi all, I have woken up today to find that my touch screen no longer works!
Im guessing that i'll need to send it back to repair so my question is this, where can I find stock SPL and stock ROM?
Just woke up and it suddenly doesn't work? Sounds very strange to me... Were you drunk yesterday? (just kidding )
I'd try a hard reset first, have your touchscreen been acting strange lately?
it did have the newton ring in the center, had it about a week, but no effects on the screen; now seams to have spread right across the screen , after a little testing have found that small parts of the screen works.
I am going to see if i can replace the touch screen myself, found this on ebay, already have the tools, wish me luck.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Digitizer-Tou...14&_trkparms=72:1690|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318
Better then sending off to HTC and them saying that its user abuse and waiting 3-4 weeks.

Can you please let us know if this fixes the "newton ring" fault aswell. I thought it was the lcd screen and not the digitizer that would need replacing to fix this. since you've bought this now it would be good to know.
Thanks

Replacement LCD

Hi everyone,
I replaced my LCD screen and digitizer at the weekend and am now having a few problems. The battery is draining really quickly, in about 30mins. Could this be due to a non oem screen or something? (got mine off ebay)
I am also having a few issues with the power button, there was a small amount of tape in place but im unsure if this should go below the switch or above. To prevent the circuit board switch from shorting or something?
Any help appreciated.
how much did you paid for digitizer?
well I got an LCD with digitizer attached for $43
I'm needing the same, how difficult was it to put back together,
taking it apart isnt a problem but theres that many parts I'm not sure if I could put it back together correctly
Can you tell me how many different variants of the LCD are used in the Diamond? or there is just ONE LCD w/ digitizer..? And from where can I get them for a good price?
Well to be honest, I have only had problems since I changed mine and the phone is now unusable. Its quite easy to put back together, but it seems really easy to create shorts that cause problems and I think the quality of the LCD I bought is far below that of standard and is using lots of power.
Have ordered another screen from somewhere else and will try that but think I will get a leo next week as then im due an upgrade
Would still appreciate some help with my original questions?
I bought on ebay both/LCD+touch screen/. Price is fine 36US dollars. When you buy only on of this you have problem with right connection between LCD and touch screen. Picture have little contrast but not tragically. Battery draining is same. Touch screen is more sensitive than original.

Hi,
screen is original.
what happened was, i enabled win mobile autolock, and then i kinda had a fit. It was turning the screen on and off for about 1 second each time, i thought it would stop so i waited about 40 seconds, then hit the reset button.
when the phone reset it still had an "imprint" of the windows mobile lock screen on the screen, as if it had "burnt" all the white areas onto the screen.
I tryed to screenshot it, but it didnt show in a screenshot so i presumed the screen was wrecked.
I have left my phone without battery overnight and it SEEMS to have sorted itself out, but im not sure!
Thanks in advance

Thought this was fixed but the battery drainage is still huge. The phone is now constantly hot, so have stopped using it. I have dismantled the phone countless times now as I thought there may be a short circuit but with no fix.
When I posted originally the battery was on 85% after 4 hours but then the next time I turned the screen on it was on 1%.
Its annoying as I loved my Diamond but now I just feel angry when I see it on my desk. Using an old moto flip phone at the moment which I hate, untill some shops get the leo back in stock. Tempted by the n900 also, any thoughts?
Hi,
I will change my Diamond's screen. Did you buy it online? If so, would you please send a link of the LCD w/ Digitizer that you bought. Thanks in advance

[Q] Touchscreen lag

Hi everyone !
I recently got my digitizer changed (apparently phones don't like faceplants ) and when i got it back I noticed a "slight" change.
Symptom :
When I touch the screen and slide my finger there's a little lag before the move is recorded by the phone, like, I have to move my finger more than 1/2 inch away from the starting point or it consider my finger didn't move from it. (thus resulting in little jumps when sliding through menus or if you wanna draw a circle it start by drawing a straight line :silly After the phone catches up however (so, as long as I keep my finger on it) it follow up well just like it has to :good:.
Resolution tested :
Through research I think my problem could come from a change between the dpi of the stock digitizer and the one I got in replacement, so the stock touch_slop value isn't adapted anymore. I tried to change it in my build.prop, but it made no difference and the problem is still here. Although it doesn't mean the problem doesn't come from that (The way Android handles touch_slop has changed in the latest versions) I don't know how to fix it and I need advices. Has someone already encountered that problem ? How can I fix it ?

Firstly, Did you ask SONY to change the digitzer or from an external vendor?
Secondly, was the digitizer flex cable given to you when you purchased the new one?
Thridly, Is the digitizer properly placed on your screen?

External vendor, I firstly went to the official support and they said It would cost me the price of the phone, , so I didn't insist on the "official" way

I'm not the one who changed the digitizer, I went to a local tech shop, the only thing I was given was my phone.

Yep, from an external point of view you can't say it has been changed (If you don't mind the big cracks that were there before )

Ok so the tech shop might be the problem. They might have used an incorrect cable and might have also provide you with a bad digitizer. The Cable is essential as it transfers touch signals to the board and if its faulty or not of good quality the digitizer might as well be useless. For the digitzer you might want to check with them on what digitzer they used and if its those cheap 'china' brand types then it's also not good for your phone. Quickly get to the shop and ask them to help you because a faulty digitzer might break your whole device :crying:
Yeah it might be, but as I said, it's only the first "move" that lags, it record the touch at the exact moment I touch the screen and after the first 1/2 inch is past there's no problem anymore so I don't really think the problem is related to that.
Actually, I think there was a similar "problem" a few years back, it was related to the way Android make a difference between a click and a swype. Its create a deadzone around the first point that's touched by your finger, so that every time you click it's not considered as a swype (because biologically you just can't click only ONE pixel). The size of this deadzone was the same on every phone and was related to the touch_slop value. At some point on some "newer" phone the size of the digitizer was bigger but not the dpi and so the deadzone began to be a hindrance more than a conveniance, cause its size grew with the size of the screen. I was then decided to change the way it was handled by the system and a new method has been implemented, using mtouchslope value, that's not just a number of pixel but that's calculated from the dpi value of the digitizer. SO I think that the digitizer I got isn't the same as the stock one (just like you said) but I think there's a way for me to fix the problem in a more "software-way". The only thing I don't know here, is how can I change the digitizer's dpi value that's stored inside the phone.

Yeah, I already looked for that, and the dpi value that's changed by this app is also present in the build.prop file but it only changes the dpi of the lcd screen and not the digitizer's one, so it doesn't really help me in this case. But thanks for your concern anyway

Replacement screen?

Hey guys,
I managed to drop my 3T a few days back, cracked the screen, over the course of a day it became fully black, rendering the display unusable.
I've seen some posts of people complaining about how bad their replacement screens are. My local GSM store said they could order a (semi-genuine, lol) display for around $150 - I'm assuming people who are having issues with their replacement screens got some cheap ones off of eBay.
My question is, would this replacement cost be a huge ripoff with me ending up with a somewhat ****ty replacement screen, or is it just worth buying a new phone at this point?
EDIT:
Okay so, my order arrived, took it to my local GSM store, they swapped the displays. Luckily everything works fine, I've got no dead or stuck pixels, screen off gestures, notification led, back and menu buttons, fingerprint reader, everything works just fine. The only little issue is that my actual display part doesn't fit quite fully into the frame, so it's like half a millimeter "elevated" on the left side. Probably not going to cause any issues, it's just that dust can get more easily under the screen.
DIgitizer is also recognized by default, no need for custom kernel, thank god

Do either of these look good to you?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-A...-A3010-LCD-Display-Touch-Screen-/222591712582
https://www.witrigs.com/oem-lcd-screen-assembly-for-oneplus-3-a3000-black
I was told they can only replace the screen if I order it with frame, which both of these sales can do, I'm just not sure if there's anything I should be looking out for to clarify whether or not they're going to be a scam
I love this phone a lot, really don't want to buy a new one, and I also want to triple check before getting a replacement screen, just to be sure.

Some of them have massive issues with unified roms and need a patched kernel to always properly switch on. See the los-16.0 thread for details. The main issue seems to be, that there are oem displays out ther, which claim to be a5 but are actually a3.
@Lada333: if an original (not semi original, not nearly original, but original) replacement screen is too expensive, I'd recommend a new phone to any flashaholic... Maybe you get a good deal on a used (but original... ) 6 or 6t.

I ended up buying the one from the eBay listing ("original" black + frame). Haven't looked into the issue you mentioned earlier, but I'd be fine having to use a patched kernel. I looked around for new phones (I couldn't stand buying a used one), but none of them really seem to be worth it for me. It's either some dum-dum popup camera, or some ugly notch. 3T's design still takes it all for me. A 5T would be hella nice, but then again, not in production anymore, and getting a second-hand one is no deal for me.

As far as I know, there's no OnePlus repair here in Hungary, also I haven't bought my phone directly from them - last time I had a repair in question, they told me to contact my Point of Sale, figured they'd advise the same this time too.
Thank you for the tip though!

Digitizer is not the "standard" issue for some non-oneplus panels - display keeps black occasionally after waking up the device is. See my previous posting and the detailed discussion in the los-16 thread.
Crossing fingers your panel is not effected!

Theorethically in sysfs (i.e.: grep panel_name /sys/devices/virtual/graphics/fb0/msm_fb_panel_info), but in this case it can't work. The oem panels in question show themselfs as a5 but support only the a3 dtsis... It's really worth searching the conversation in the los-16 thread.
