What is Picture Manager?
Some manufactures like HTC and Sony (probably some more) save pictures taken with an incremented number in the filename, instead with a timestamp like other manufactures do.
When you factory reset your device, buy a new device or clean flash a custom rom, the camera picture counter gets reset and starts with e.g. IMAG_00001 again.
This can be an issue once you backup your files to a harddrive on your PC, because you will have duplicate filenames, although the pictures are actually different.
Picture Manager solves this problem by renaming your taken pictures with a timestamp format that you can select or even define yourself.
You can either start a batch process before you backup your pictures to your HDD, or automatically let Picture Manager rename your files in the background.
Another nice feature Picture Manager offers is that you can let it organize your taken pictures into folders that are named by the year, month and even day.
That will help you to quickly find your pictures again and brings some organization into you pictures.
Requirements
You have to be on at least Android 5.0 Lollipop
How does it work
Picture Manager relies on the EXIF Metadata that is stored into each picture. The EXIF Metadata contains a lot of information, the one Picture Manager needs is the date the picture was taken.
With that information Picture Manager can reliably rename and organize your pictures.
Tasker Plugin
Picture Manager comes with a Tasker Action Plugin. That means that you can start a batch process on different events, like time, when usb gets connected etc.
Premium features
If you want to use the custom format, background service or the Tasker plugin you need to upgrade to the premium version.
To upgrade you can use an in app purchase. Or you paypal me and I mail you a premium code. That way google doesn't get 30% of the income.

FAQ
Q: What about videos?
A: Picture Manager can also handle mp4 recorded videos.
Q: What about other manufactures than HTC and Sony?
A: I just know about those two that use an incremented number in their filename. If you know more, let me know. If your files are already timestamped you can still use the organizer to move your files into timestamped folders.
Q: After using the organizer I have sometimes missing files in my gallery?
A: Use the media scanner built in Picture Manager to make those files visible.
Q: Will the background service drain a lot of battery?
A: Picture Manager makes use of Androids JobSheduler, like Google Photos and Amazon Photos instant upload and is very battery friendly. When checking GSAM stats, it is nearly at the very bottom of the list.

I want to open Xnview directly from Camera mode instead default Video & Picture Program from Pocket PC (pimg.exe)
does somebody know how to do that?
Well, it is free, but I'll keep Resco Viewer, thanks. I keep getting stuck in slideshow until it finishes, have to do way too much screen tapping to access things, etc..
Generally use Resco but do be honest this does more when it comes to image conversion and editing and is a smaller footprint, even to the point i don't have Resco installed.
Thankyou OP for the headz up
I tried, but will defintiely stick with Resco. xnview pocket might do more things, but I find the UI not very user-friendly at all, sorry.

Is it worth keeping around in the remote chance I might need to edit a photo? I guess.. I have it installed to the 4G storage card, so no biggie. Otherwise.. ;-)

Anyone try out the new Live Mesh yet? I just read about a few days back, so don't know how "new" it is, but it's still in beta.
But, after trying it, it is f'n sweet!!!
It's a web server, similar to Live Workspace, but you can upload any file you like. If you don't know what Live Workspace is, it's a web server used to exchange, edit, and upload Office documents.
With Mesh, you can upload anything you would like from your computer, then sync your device with the MOBILE APPLICATION !
You can upload from your device as well, and check them out later on your desktop. Not to mention, any files you load up from your desktop, that are synced to your device automatically get stored to your SD Card, which is kind of a downside, but it beats main memory.
Anyways, I've found it to be pretty cool, since I can quickly sync any file of my choice, from any computer, and have it on my Touch in a few seconds without cables or e-mail. All I have to do is login and upload, and I believe it's similar to Workspace in the sense you can share the "Desktop."
Check it yourself, it's of course FREE!
www.mesh.com
I have to throw in an update here! I link my Pictures folder, where photos from my camera are stored, I took two quick pics, and after just closing the camera and opening Mesh, they were starting to sync! I forgot to mention it's syncs like Windows Live, you can set manual, auto every xx minutes, or as your local folders are updated.
Needs to be running to sync, at least for the "push" type option, don't plan on trying the auto sync at all. Sits in memory @ 951kb.
It says Mobile Coming Soon. You have it working?
?Its work, already. but you need to have the sqlce 3.1 not the 2.0, or 3.0 or 3.5. specific 3.1, something almost no one have. ..
Yu can download to instal the sql 3.1, BUT change a system library just because one software.. NOOOOO
LOL!
Go here:
http://blogs.msdn.com/livemesh/
You'll see the link to download the .cab file.
downloaded the "fixed" cab from that blog, still getting a dependency error on install.
Can't wait for this service though. Very cool.

Pocket Player Skin VGA (FUZE / TOUCH PRO)

I searched for a while but couldn't find many VGA skins for Pocket Player, especially for fat fingers, so I made this one to suit my needs. This is a new skin I'm using mostly for the car. The idea is to maximize screen space with visuals and info, and use the hardware buttons of the FUZE to handle the controls. Just thought I shared...
NOTE:
The skin is named default_vgals.psz so it will overwrite your default installed landscape skin. This way it is automatically selected when tilting the phone. If you don't like that, just change the name ;-).
[EDIT 1/8/11]
1. Added a new version with some tweaks and the MENU BAR at the bottom, which seems more useful than the slider.
2. Also added a small Mortscript that enables selecting between separate PocketPlayer libraries. The idea is to split up large music libraries into different folders and let PP compile individual databases (metadatadb) in each folder. This greatly improves the performance of the application when browsing for music. For example, in my case, PP would struggle with my 3500+ song single library, taking on average 10 - 20 secs between each operation. After dividing the music into 4 separate folders (~1000 songs each), response is almost instant. You need to change the name of the folders in the script to match the actual folders you create, or it won't work. Then make sure you run the library scan on each folder. You get the idea...Try it...but remember to always backup, etc...

So the skin is only for the music program Pocket Player, which uses skins of the format *.psz (just a zip file renamed). The file just need to be copied to the pocket player installation folder, and then selected from the options menu. Also, this particular skin is only for VGA devices (640x480), but I don't know if Pocket Player will try to render it in your device (800x480). That said, let me see if I find some time to make a WVGA version this weekend...no promises...

Many thanks to biernes_atrece for helping me with the awesome graphics.
Just published v1.1 which includes some minor bug fixes, the ability to save images to device desktop and brought the number of webcams etc up to over a 1000 in the included sample collection.
I also posted a free demo version of WebPeekaBoo v1.1 which can be downloaded from here
http://www.zingpow.ca/Software/WM/WebPeekaboo/Demo/WebPeekaBooDemo.cab
The demo contains over 100 webcams etc. The only thing it can't do is open or save an image collection.
Thanks
I've heard that there might recently have been some problems purchasing/downloading WebPeekaBoo from the Microsoft App Store, hopefully this will be corrected soon (if not already fixed), but if you have been affected by this please let me know and I will try to get the situation fixed as soon as possible.
Thanks
Thank you all for your patience and understanding as Microsoft has fixed the App Store problem and so now WebPeekaBoo should be available for download:
A free WebPeekaBoo demo version is also available on the App Store
or the demo can be downloaded from here:

Thanks
Now that the Windows Marketplace is no longer operational, do you plan to offer it via another site for purchase and download?
