Unlocking bootloader with global developer rom

Can I unlock Mi5 bootloader with Global Developer Rom? Some site says that I need the Chinese rom, so I am a bit confused. If anyone has unlocked the device with the Global rom, please let me know.
Unloking bootloader
Hi,
I unloked my device after flashing global rom miui 8 not chinese dev rom, for my little experience if you asking about unloking bootloader means that you have official rom global or dev, you should then be able to unlock your phone once you have permission granted. I hope that helps you.
i unlocked my mi5 on global dev 6.11.10 (latest global dev ota) without any problems.
I unlocked my mi5 last week while on global stable MIUI 8.1 with no problems whatsoever, so I don't see why it won't be possible on global dev

Different Models

Hi ! I have a noob question
They had three models of mi 8 the 64/128 & 256Go storage and two various models Global Version & a Chinese Version.
But really they had only one version per models of mi 8 but different Firmware of mi 8 ? Exemple for the 64Go model storage this is the same hardware of mi 8 and only the firmware change ? Chinese version or Global version ?
Thank you

If I unlock my BL and flash Custom Rom Xiaimi.eu based on China miui version Rom !
They had mistake if I make Ota update of Xiaomi.eu Rom ? No risk lock it and brick it ?
Ps : Yes I understand just don't flash the chinese stable or dev Rom and vise versa !!! With Custom Rom no mistake just if you use miflash don't lock.
Thanks.
You can have every custom rom you want.. for example xiaomieu,it doesnt mean something what kind of source it is. You can use xiaomieu based on china rom with your global version smartphone!
Btw xiaomieu doesnt have ota updates you need to flash manually from twrp every time.

Redmi K20 Pro - China Rom Convert to MI 9T Pro?

Hi All,
I recently purchased a new Redmi K20 Pro off a friend who by mistake bought what I believe to be a Chinese ROM phone due to opening up apps in Chinese...
I have unlocked the bootloader and am ready to progress to flashing a new rom. However, I have seen in videos and read that you need to flash the correct rom in order not to brick the device. You can create issues by not using the correct vendor rom?
I have searched and I am unable to find a correct guide that will work for the device I bought...
Can anybody please point me in the right direction with what I need to do in order to get my phone to a global rom where all apps are in English please?
MIUI Version - MIUI 11.0.8 Stable
11.0.8.0 (QFKCNXM)
Android Version - 10
Baseband version - 1.0.c3-59.1-0322_2
309_f9ef867
Kernel Version - 4.14.117-perf-gc8b9
843
Hardware version - V1
I've been looking and found this guide - May I confirm this will be what I need to convert to a global rom and not brick my device?

Thank you in Advance !!!
This is forum for 9T and you have PRO.
If you've unlocked bootloader you are good to go - flash twrp and enable usb debugging. See what model do you have in settings - it can't go wrong if you stick to specific device

AFAIK you should own the UK version, as the UK is no longer a member of the EEA (European Economic Area).
Got my Mi 11 Ultra from Vodafone in Germany... afaik the updates by Vodafone are realy bad - have to wait for updates for 5 months to be on the same stand like the "clean" Europe/Global Roms.

But global ROM is far behind the EEA (EU) and CN (China) roms...
Latest global is 12.0.2.0.RKAMIXM

Thats right, my Mi 11 Ultra has now "MIUI Global 12.0.2 Stabil RKAEUVF" it is the EU Rom with Vodafone branding afaik. Is there a way to flash it on 12.x.x RKAEUXM (Rom without Vodafone branding)?
I've no direct experience, but I suppose you need to unlock the bootloader and use a tool like this:
XiaoMiTool V2 - Modding of Xiaomi devices made easy for everyone
XiaoMiTool V2 is a easy to use tool to install rom on your Xiaomi device. Modding made easy for everyone! Download it for free now!

But ask for more information before proceeding.
@Maximowic have you done it? Did you encounter any issues with it? I'm on the same situation as you, wonder if you figured it out.
I have been on EUVF, too and flashed to the custom EU Rom. I would suggest to flash it via fastboot first and then upgrade to the latest version.
hi,
is there any chance to download this version anywhere as a backup to relock the bootloader in the future?
regards
p.s.
am just not sure if with my current rom 12.5.6.0. RKAEUXM stable i would easily relock the bootloader..
my original rom was vodafone uk 12.0.2.0 RKAEUVF
please
I think you can only relock your bootloader with the original rom you had when you unlocked your bootloader or at least of the same branch
