Great thx! Stupid question, but why is treble not supported yet since every oreo build should be supporting treble by default?

because the p9 lite and some hi6250 devices doesn't receive Emui8 that contain treble support, so I've to do by myself. we need a vendor.img partition to enable treble. actually I've some GSI roms need to be updated

Im very happy to see this ^^ Did someone try?

So that means we need a special Oreo Vendor for treble support?

If porting the vendor.img is be possible that would be awesome!

https://forum.xda-developers.com/p1...-emui-8-0-0-huawei-p10-lite-dual-sim-t3780780
huawei p10 lite ft honor 7x and honor 6x EMUI 8.0.0 partition data, product.img and version.img
is compatible with Huawei P9 Lite 2016 android 7.0 :good:
tried
vendor.img and system.img emui 8.0 = brick
a good start :highfive:
in emui 8.0.0 vendor.img and kernel.img and system.img must have the same security patch to start Android 8.0.0.
example:
August patch - August patch -August patch =fine work
system.img vendor.img kernel.img
If you do not have the same security patch you would stay in brick bootlogo.
example:
** july patch - july patch - August patch = brick
* system.img vendor.img kernel.img

In this case, no more boot.img on emui 8 that has been divided in such as kernel.img, ramdisk.img and recovery_ramdisk.img for treble things.
in our case I'll use emui 5 as base since p9 lite 2016 don't have official oreo and that thing require a lot of hacks on the device tree and kernel, I've an idea to do that but after I update my Pie GSI roms for P8L17. if get treble ported successfully honestly Emui 5 is better than Emui 8 for roms. I made same aosp 8 treble version and get me bootloop on emui 8, while none-treble booted without problems. just my opinion

FAQ:
1.) What to do if My Phone got bootloop or not booting ??
You have changed vendor, or modified vendor(not stock), OpenKirin vendor will never ever work,, so get Pure stock vendor of your device... it will work for sure... if still not, change you data filesystem...
2.) What to do if my SIMs are not working ??
Go to Extras, disable dual sim, reboot phone,, now read carefully,,
1. Install hex editor app from playstore
2. Make sure you have file explorer with root privileges
3. Open hex editor and find modem,id file on this location root/sys/firmware/devicetree/base/hisi,modem_id and open it.
4. Write down all numbers in first row
5. Then go to root/system/vendor and find phone.prop and open it with text editor.
6. Find your modem id by using search and type 0x3xxxxxx where X is your number from hex reader

1 & half year ago I bought my GR5 Mini Device. After coming XDA didn’t found any custom rom for this device.
Got so much worried.
After few months Meticulus start making CM13. Tried from Alpha version. After flash 1st time, my heart broken, with no camera, screen buffering etc…
So going with non-editable stock EMUI….
After long time, Now I am proud for my device. We have so many custom roms (Flavours).
We can use as per our requirements.
Thanks from my heart to every one behind our Devices.
At last it I am able to use it as a daily driver! Thanks to Hassan and all the guys behind!!!

I have download from your web yesterday evening (2017.12.05 19:30 GMT +1). Maybe overlap upload/download, so file was corrupted (Size 327,5 MB).
In a few hours back home I will repeat downloading and try again.
Thanks for quick response!
Download repeated. Everything went well!
I don't understand what is going wrong. I'm on 100% stock B380. Flashing your TWRP, doing full backup, wiping dalvik, cache, data, system, then flashing the rom and gapps, reboot and stuck on Lineage loading screen.
Okay then, I restore my backup - Now camera doesnt work (keeps restarting) and I can't make/receive calls. Factory reset doesn't fix it, so I restore to MM with the rollback package and everything seems fine again. Then I update to nougat and flash everything over again..... Still stuck on Lineage loading screen, and restore once again messes up camera and calls Do you have any idea what's going wrong?

The Gapps to be downloaded is ARM64 7.1 or ARM 7.1?
I'm actually on stock 7.0 VNS-L21C432B388.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome to Team OpenKirin AOSP Project. Our goal is to provide
a overall stable AOSP experience across all Huawei/Honor phones
utilizing a Kirin SoC and EMUI 8.0 - either updated or shipped.
So far most of the bugs have been fixed and the ROMs are fully usable
as daily driver - and fully Kirin optimized.
This is the device support section for: Huawei Mate 9.
Any bugs found on this device(s) can be reported here, please include proper logs if you encounter any issues.
We support 3 ROMs in total as of now - LineageOS (Unofficial), ResurrectionRemix OS (Official from Beta 2+), OmniRom
You can find all needed guides/roms on our official website: https://openkirin.net
Requirements: basically full stock EMUI 8.0, with stock recovery/ramdisk

Thanks for this! I am running the CarbonROM Beta 2 from the partner builds (released July 17). I notice that there is now an official version that is also labeled as Beta 2, but was released five days later (July 22). Can I flash the official build without going back to full stock first? Also, the newer build is significantly smaller: 599MB versus 1.6 GB. Is that because the newer build doesn't include GAPPS?
Thanks again and sorry if I missed the answers to these questions.
As an aside, I'm really liking CarbonROM. Great battery life and very smooth.

the newer builds are xz compressed, you have to decompress them first.
If its the same rom (e.g. carbon -> carbon) you don't have to do a factory reset.

Thanks! And now I realize that I can't read and misread OmniROM for CarbonROM. Oops.

Phh LOS is a generic build meant for any device with treble support. The OpenKirin build is specifically targeted to Kirin devices.
Most of the changes are for dealing with the ways Huawei did things differently than everyone else. Also built in is the Huawei camera app, so (most of) the native camera functionality is available.

Thanks! I want to try OpenKirin LOS (OKLOS), but how will I be able to flash Magisk without TWRP? OpenKirin LOS says that it requires the stock EMUI recovery, so how can I flash Magisk?
---------- Post added at 12:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:38 AM ----------
Okay, so I clean flashed OpenKirin LOS Beta 5 on my MHA-L29. Fingerprint gestures are disabled/greyed-out despite the Mate 9 having a rear fingerprint sensor. Fingerprint gestures worked perfectly on Phh LOS, so I'm not sure why OKLOS isn't working on that end.
---------- Post added at 12:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:08 PM ----------
Another issue I found: On OKLOS, the Mate 9's secondary top speaker isn't working when playing media. To be fair, it didn't work on Phh LOS either, so I'm not sure if that's an issue you guys can fix.

Use 'fastboot' command.
-> extract stock boot image, patch it by magisk manager, flash patched boot image by fastboot.
Or you can install (patch boot image and replace it ) in magisk manager directly.

After a few days of running on my Mate 9, OKLOS is running super smooth! Much smoother than Phh LOS. Hoping @OldDroid and the team can address a few of the bugs listed in my earlier post. Keep it up!

disable the navbar to turn on navigation gestures.
This will be adressed in the next los beta so you can toggle the nav gestures with navbar enabled.

hello,
is there any way how the bugs should be reported?
In LOS Beta 5 I discovered that if trying to enable Bluetooth trigger in a Profile, the Settings crash. My phone is Mate 9.
PS Otherwise, the only thing I can say is Hats off to the developers! When I received the phone as a replacement (for a broken Nexus 6p) I thought "oh, crap: no Snapdragon, no LOS". This really made my day!

Although I meant it mainly as a general questions where the bugs should be brought up. In this thread? Or in the Telegram channel referenced in the 1st post? Or...?
PS I found out that NFC is not working, but that seems to be a known issue.
errors in logcat (omnirom)
Hello,
I am trying out OmniROM and I have been getting less than stellar battery life (though still acceptable). I took a look at the MatLog app and noticed a bunch of errors that keep coming up. One of them is from BatteryExternalStatsWorker: "no controller energy info supplied for wifi".
I googled around a bit and it appears this has popped up on other ROMs and it seems to be related to a missing API. There are other errors as well, many of them thrown by HWComposer: "invalid layer type change".
I have no idea if these are impacting battery life, but an error is an error.
I attached a zip with logs from MatLog.
Thanks.
Dear MR.OldDroid
Is it possible for you to add UMS (USB mass storage function, connect pc and turn Micro SD card in photo to be a removable flash disk on PC) into the Kernel? I like this function, it is much better than MTP function.
Thank you very much.

Same here.
First impression is very good. - For me everything works out of the box, except the Video-Camera. Also, the preinstalled TWRP version did not cut it for me. The Storage Structure is the internal OS Structure. So it was impossible for me to install Magsik directly. After sideloading the newest Twrp Zip via Fastboot everything was back to normal. Magisk works fine.

You can't flash twrp with fastboot method since Q Is your OS, @ProtoDeVNan0 prebuilt Bluespark in the build, but It can't decrypt, Mauronofrio twrp 3.3.1.8 Is working flawselly, so I suggest you to sideload It if you want to root and flash stuff by your own.

Introduction:
This is the Official Lineage OS 17.1 thread for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+, codename starlte, star2lte.
Join our Lineage Exynos 9810 Development Telegram Group!
How to Install:
Please follow the instructions on our Official LineageOS Wiki page here.
MAKE SURE YOU ARE INSTALLING LINEAGE OVER FULLY STOCK ANDROID 10 FIRMWARE
If you don't follow these instructions, please don't expect support here. We also don't support 3rd party addons (Magisk/XPosed/Dolby/Viper/etc.), so please don't seek support if you use these.
What's not working:
Applicable exceptions granted in device support requirements.
Obviously Samsung's own features such as Samsung Pay, KNOX, Theme Center, Game Launcher, etc. won't be ported to LineageOS. We may have our own implementation to similar functions, though.
Iris sensor does not work because AOSP upstream does not support that yet.
IMS services (VoLTE, VoWiFi, etc). Samsung has their own proprietary implementation. It is not really possible to easily port that to LineageOS.
Notes:
Official Lineage OS builds will not pass CTS/SafetyNet -- due to the AVB flag's "red" status.
Official Lineage OS builds requires official stock unmodded android 10 firmware installed.
Official Lineage OS builds uses stock android 10 vendor so encryption is enabled by default.

Thank you for your work. A few question:
First: Is it still necessaryto wait with the install for 7 days after activation like it was in the past with lineageos 15.1?
Second: How is battery life?
thrid: what about the camera functioning? and is there a gCam alternative in case of problems?

Both are not recommended by official LOS, but yes you can. I dirty flashed an official nightly on top of Rob's 13-4 build and his modified DTC5 vendor and everything (still) works as before.
Thank you very much for this rom! Great to see it has reached an official status.
I have a question about the forced encryption:
From what I understand TWRP is not (yet) able to decrypt the data partition, making it impossible to back-up and restore the data partition. Is this correct? And if so, does the lineage recovery support backup of encrypted data?
Where do I can stock vendor other than flashing stock ROM with Odin?
Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
Thanks for the new ROM, really looking forward to getting the official 17.1 on my S9, replacing the current 15.1 official LOS.
Instructions and pre-requisites need more detail though. What specifically is meant by "stock Android 10 firmware"? Bootloader, vendor, anything else? And where can we find reliable sources for stock firmware for specific phone models e.g. SM-G960F? Any chance of creating an archive of these linked to from the first post, so people have reliable sources for these mandatory requirements?
Thanks again.

Doing this from the OTA updater didn't work: after the update file had been downloaded and pressing the install button I got an installation error message after 1 second (before the phone would reboot to recovery).
I'm using TWRP 3.2.3. Is OTA supposed to work with it, or does the OTA updater only likes the Lineage Recovery? [emoji848]

I'm in the exact situation, had to manually install OTA update from /data/lineageos_updates (had to search on Google where the LineageOS updates are stored).
Thanks for the official build!
