[ROM] Oreo test builds - ZTE Trek 2 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Deve

Alright, after way too long, I've finally gotten oreo working well enough to test. Please note:
These are beta quality, not suitable for daily usage yet.
Known issues will be listed. Anything not listed should work (but not everything has been tested).
Tested with opengapps micro arm64 8.1.
If you would like to test nougat upgrades, please let me know how that goes. I have only done a clean install so far. Keep in mind that you will need to flash oreo gapps, as gapps persistence does not work across versions.

my question is the phone call is not available right?
and I'm seeing in TWRP that decrypted works faster?

I have not yet put in my SIM card, so radio (data, sms, voice) is not tested yet. I will put in my SIM card and test tomorrow.

it does not allow me to save the WiFi network manually
since WiFi network that I use is hidden and I have to put SSID and password

Unfortunately I don't have any experience with hidden ssid networks. But I can tell you that the WiFi kernel driver, firmware, and configuration are exactly the same as nougat. So any issues are most likely in the upper layers... the layers common to many or all devices. I haven't heard of any common complaints about hidden ssid networks on oreo. Do you have any other devices that can run lineage oreo to test?

I fixed it .. It was where I used wrong twrp and had to use su to make roms boot..
had to start fresh and its working awesome so far !
Thank you peeps !

I'd be happy to try a Nougat->Oreo upgrade (I don't care if I end up having to wipe), but I'm not sure what the procedure should be.
Should it be:
update TWRP using jasminetool
install zip and oreo gapps in TWRP WITHOUT running Wipe or Advanced Wipe?

the TWRP can update it from TWRP by selecting the image to flash partition recovery or with the jasminetool

WiFi is not working
Thank you for Oreo ROM but I can't turn on the wifi

The steps should be:
1. Update TWRP.
2. Flash the oreo rom.
3. Flash new gapps.
4. Reboot.

It does not matter how you update recovery, any method works equally well.

I ran the update from Nougat and flashed nano gapps, and it did keep all apps and files. However, I had to uninstall and re-install all Google apps that didn't come included with the gapps, along with a handful of Play Store apps, otherwise they just hung and crashed. I tried wiping the cache/dalvik cache in TWRP, but that didn't fix the crashing. I'm totally fine with re-installing apps, but just a heads up for anyone else.
While wifi connects and works, I'm noticing that the connection does seem to drop out for a second here and there. The wifi icon in the status bar will show the "x" in the bottom corner and mobile data will turn on. I'll see if it still happens on my home wifi (currently on work wifi). LTE/cell service does seem to work still.
Thanks so much for your work getting Oreo on here. It seems just as stable as Nougat so far (hopefully the wifi issue is just a problem with work wifi). Looking forward to this reaching official LineageOS status!

Checking things out some more, the only other issues I noticed are that LiveDisplay can't be turned on at all (none of the options in Settings stick, and the quick actions button is grayed out), and Netflix can't be installed (Your device isn't compatible with this version).

ambient display is not available either in this version, one of the options that I like ambient display and is not available in nougat or in oreo

Yes I know. It's on my list of things to fix.

i've tried clean flash many times(using pico gapps and nano gapps)but wifi still do not work
i hope it will be solved someday

Fantastic ROM
Fantastic ROM. I have been using CM 12.1 and post that I used CM 13. But this is better than all of them [including MIUI 7.1]
But Facing the following problems:
1. No Transparent Status Bar
2. Weather not working - neither on the status bar, nor on the lock screen
3. Cannot change the Lock Screen Wallpaper through settings
Please help to fix this
Why I keep getting error when flashing?
Code:
unmount of /system/failed; no such volume
script succeeded: result was [0.200000]
Updating partition details....
... done
I am using TWRP 2.8.7.0.
Tried that with Philz Touch Recovery but get the same error as well.
Anyone facing same issue?
Thanks in advance.
I want to know how to download it?

1. The Status bar is definitely transparent on my phone. (Did you do a clean install?)
2. I also haven't gotten the weather to work.
3. Lockscreen wallpaper does not change for me either.
I'd also like to be able to adjust the soft buttons backlight brightness like I could in CM12.1.
But all those are only very minor problems, and this is proving to be a very good rom for me.

Try this: https://mega.nz/#!I8FzHTiQ!ptfcpHmTpLo7l-xH_vDySpLVasaXDvaeyzAIT578Qjo If that doesn't work, maybe download it again and put it in the root of the internal memory. I don't know what else to suggest.
Edit: I just installed latest 5.6.6 using Philz Touch with rom in root folder of external SD card. No problem.

Try this to get the newest version 5.6.6: https://basketbuild.com/devs/resurrectionremix/dior You will also need this kernel patch: https://basketbuild.com/filedl/devs?dev=Msf_Console&dl=Msf_Console/RR/kernel/edgefix_20160403.zip. Just flash the patch after your flash the rom.

I can't give any "official" suggestion. I first just installed and wiped cache & dalvik cache. But then I had some weird things happening (strange lag), so I wiped it and started over with a clean install (wipe, flashed 5.6.6 rom, flashed the patched kernel, reboot). YMMV, but that's how it worked for me.

The link is from post #9 on page one by nz_mincemeat (https://basketbuild.com/filedl/devs?dev=Msf_Console&dl=Msf_Console/RR/kernel/edgefix_20160403.zip). You just download that zip file, and then flash it from recovery just like you would do with a new rom. It replaces the boot.img ("kernel") and one file, and that solves the edge scrolling problem with the 5.6.6 rom. No need to wipe or do a fresh install when flashing that patch.

Hmm, strange. This file, edgefix_20160403.zip, right?
I'm using CWM based Philz Touch Recovery, but I don't know if that is the issue or not. If you were able to flash the rom, I can't see why you can't flash the edgefix update.
I'm having a few weird troubles though. Twice today I had the screen freeze for a time, and then when it came back, it was jumping around as if an invisible finger was touching all over the screen randomly. I had to force a reboot both times. That's not a minor bug. Also, I've had it turn on in my pocket and start to do pocket-dialing. At least I can hear it when that starts. Is there a setting to eliminate pocket dialing?
Edit: Ah, I see that 20160406 is released. Maybe I'll give that a try and see if it still has those problems.

Read it is based on 3.5.5 firmware so a modified twrp is needed.
But anyways if you don't call it works because the incall speaker is not working.

Oxygen OS Beta 25 (Android 8.0 Oreo) image without firmware, without troubles ;)

After browsing through the new Oreo threads, there were again a lot of users with issues related to new bootlaoder and firmware.
So to avoid that I tried installing the new Beta 25 without any firmware files only updating system and boot, and that seam to work just fine.
It was the same with back than fron android MM to N.
To install the image you need the new TWRP linked here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74154185&postcount=37
But its enough to boot the new TWRP with fastboot it does nto have to be flashed.
Here is the Oxygen OS Beta 25 zip without firmware for OnePlus 3: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=962021903579485163

[Fixed]Auto Rotation issue on Custom ROMs

A while ago, I unlocked my K20 Pro and flashed HAVOC OS 2.8 Custom ROM. At the begining, the Auto Rotation was not in option as it wasn't working and I thought it was a minor bug it would be fixed in the next build... But when I got sick of that and because of some other bugs, I headed to other Custom ROMs to see if it was going to be fixed... Unfortunately, in every single one of them(RR, PE), the problem is still present... Are you facing the same issue? Is it possible to get it fixed?
Edit:Flashed system.img + vendor.img + persist.img and after CrDroid with GAPPs! All sensors seem to be fixed except front pop-up camera plus the Bluetooth has issues(connects but no media output)...
Fixed:Good news everyone! As I was trying a lot of things, I ended up with the phone only booting to fastboot mode... No recovery was allowed to be flashed or booted unfortunately... So, I decided to bring it back to stock using Mi flash tool and the flashable ROM I chose for Mi flash from the link below! As I was on fastboot mode, I selected my device on Mi flash and also selected the extracted folder the flashable ROM(also the batch file flash_all down in the right corner, above selected the selected flash all dotted option... WARNING, DO NOT CHOOSE FLASH AND LOCK)... Then, I waited some time for the process to end and so it did(don't worry if there is any checkpoint error in the mi flash). When it boots up, you will see 3 buttons in Chinese... Hit the lower one(I tried all the first two but I think I had no touch on them).
After that do the regular setup chosing English language! I remember I was given an option to calibrate the front camera and it was then I heard some strange noises, like them you here when you try to force close the front camera by hand... Anyway, I opened the camera app after the setup completed and choose to calibrate the front camera! So it did! After that if you want to flash any custom ROM (of Android 9 based), you have to wipe dalvik/art cache and data only... Then try flashing the desired ROM and GAPPs... Once the process is finished, reboot again to recovery if you want to flash Magisk... Then boot normally into the ROM and you will notice all sensors are working perfectly!

How can I do that? Besides, I have never dropped my phone and Auto Rotation is still functioning on MIUI...

Download Sensor Box from Play store and check for Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Magnetic Sensor and check if you're able to see values for X,Y,Z axis.

No idea about RR or PE, but auto rotation works just fine on crDroid and I'm 99% sure that it worked on Syberia as well.
It really does sound like an issue with your device

I don't think it is an issue with my device... There is no way those sensors got destroyed after unlocking the bootloader, because before I do that, they were all functioning very well on MIUI(and also I had proper auto rotation)!

Brother your persist partition got corrupt...
The same thing happened to me while installing that rom
You have to reflash persist.img in persist partition to make your sensors work again.. flashing other roms won't help in this case
Even flashing miui via recovery won't help in this case ...
Either you flash the fastboot rom or you can reflash the persist.img via twrp (L.R. team twrp
This will fix your problem for sure
Wow! I don't know what to say... Finally someone who knows what's going on with this device! Thank you very much for your assistance!

Yep I searched for it and I ended up in the first one...
I did flash the LR TWRP and the persist.img but nothing happened once again... I think that I should wipe everything and flash again: system.img + vendor.img + persist.img and after that flash the desired Android 9.0 ROM... What do you think?
I'm having the same problem. What MIUI ROM did you have before flashing any custom ROM?
MIUI 10! Unfortunately I don't remember which version but the one it came out of the box (updated).
