if the phone is paid and your not locked into a Sprint plan, Sprint will unlock it for you, or if you are in the Service they will unlock it. They might even just unlock it anyway.. I just got the note9 to replace my essential ph1, and I called Sprint to have the Essential phone unlocked, and they were confused, and thought I wanted my note9 (which I lease) unlocked. if I didn't correct them I think they were going to do it!

i am living outside USA ? and it's not paid off too?

ok, in that case I guess I would try one of these online unlocking services, but maybe, like others have said, use one that someone has successfully used before..

I also have same problem. Only few unlocking website listed Sprint Note 9 and they ask for 130-150$.

How to unlock a GT-i9305?

I just bought my Samsung Galaxy S III LTE Titanium today and I was also wondering how to I go about unlocking my phone because Orange sucks balls I want to use my current giffgaff SIM.
Is it possible to unlock without rooting?
If not what's the best guide to root a i9305?
Once rooted how do I unlock my phone?
Also I heard flashing custom firmware can increase a binary counter that is used to invalidate the warranty on the phone?
Is it possible to reset this counter back to 0 so it still appears that it's within warrranty?
Thanks in advance, I did search the forums but I couldn't find any definitive guides for the i9305 that did what I wanted.
XDA is awesome.
At this time, sim unlocking a i9305 is not possible (its the same with all qualcomm gs3 devices)(yes I know there's an exynos in i9305 but theres also a qualcomm chip for lte).

So is there a genuine unlock option for this, or is it a case for paying it to be unlocked for now?

If I am not sure if my Phone is locked can I use this mod?
Some times it shows me that the SIm is perso locked but usually it works... I do not know why this happens. If I use this and the Phone is already unlocked can I damage my Phone. I have backup up the efs...
By law Australian carriers are now required to unlock a device for free on request so all it takes is a call to Optus (or Telstra if you have the T model).

Unlocked S5?

So, I am wanting to get the S5, but I am tired of all the AT7T bloatware that comes on these phones. Plus, being in the military, prefer unlocked phones. So, what are my choices here. Where can I get an unlocked S5 that will fully work on the AT7T network?

The closest you could get is a TMO branded S5 which ships BL Unlocked (at least initial shipments) a few bands may not work though depending on the TMO radio. Also you would need to sim unlock the TMO S5 and buy it outright which I believe is 660.

I was wondering about that. Heard the TMO boot loader is unlocked. Just wasn't sure all bands would work on AT&T.
Att LTE should work hspa+ not sure I haven't looked at tmo specs at length

The expectation is that all American models are region-locked as well. Here is an example of a N. America model with the region-lock warning on it: http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s5-region-lock-367402/
FYI, I bought an AT&T S5, unlocked it and am using it now on Straight Talk and with other local SIMs as I travel. Check out my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2714535

samsung SM-N920T sim unlocking

Hi to all, I have a samsung SM-N920T locked on T-mobile, so it refuses to work with sims of other carriers. I can't use the built-it app to unlock it because I've bought it of second hand, the app refuses to work saying the phone isn't eligible for unlocking and I can't contact T-mobile not having a T-mobile account. How can I unlock it without paying a third parts service? I have already rooted the phone.
Thanks in advance

Galaxy S8 T-Mobile USA Unlock

I bought a used T-Mobile Galaxy S8 to a third party, I found it on FB and I tough it would be a good deal. Unfortunately it is locked to T-Mobile and it is hard to unlock it by T-Mobile since I don't have any proof of purchase. I have been looking for unlock services but looks like nobody is really able to unlock the T-Mobile "Unlock App". Today I found this page which claims to be able to unlock the phone but I am not sure about it.
attunlockcode.com
Somebody has tried it, or any unlock service truly working for this phone and carrier?

Note 8 unlocked

If I buy the unlocked version from Samsung will I be able to use it on ATT and Verizon networks? Will there be a limitations on what LTE bands that the phone can use? Just trying to avoid the bloatware that carriers have on their phones. I have both before mentioned carriers. I really want the note 8 but if I can't use the unlocked version to its full potential. Then I guess I. Will go with the Verizon version. I have been waiting since they took back my note 7 and now I can hardly wait to fill the void lol.

I recently chatted with a Verizon representative regarding this very question. I asked two key questions.
"Does an unlocked Samsung Galaxy Note 8 work on Verizon networks?"
Essentially the person told me they needed the phone to determine weather or not it would work on the Verizon network; either the MSIN or IMSI number. My belief is there is, most likely, a better answer elsewhere.
"Does Verizon restrict any features on unlocked phone?"
The Verizon representative told me they don't restrict any features for unlocked phones.
I know this still doesn't answer the question you have. Just know that I, and others, also have the same question(s).

This is from my chat transcript with Samsung technical support. Yes, an unlocked Note 8 will work with Verizon's network.
...
Amit H: Hi, thank you for reaching out to Samsung Technical Support. How may I assist you?
Amit H: Please excuse us for the long hold. We have had an unusually high volume of chats coming in. I would be happy to assist you with any questions you have about our products.
You: If I order an unlocked Galaxy Note 8 phone, will it work on the Verizon network in North America?
You: no worries. I don't mind the wait.
Amit H: Yes, the Unlocked version of Note 8 phone will work with the Verizon.
You: perfect. Thank you!
Amit H: You are welcome.

I've also been told that you lose WiFi Calling with unlocked phones on Verizon's network as well. Can anyone confirm this? I know for a lot of people Wifi Calling doesn't matter much, but when cell service is spotty my LG V20 often switches over to WiFi for the duration of the call.
I don't think there are any other Verizon features I use other than WiFi Calling, and I'd hate to lose it. But I also hate all the Verizon bloatware.
Only lose wifi calling and any bloatware that the provider puts on them. That’s all. All the bands are there.

Here is one example from the BestBuy website.
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-galaxy-note8-64gb-unlocked-orchid-gray/6002607.p?skuId=6002607
Click on Specifications, then look under Compatibility.
Does the unlocked note 8 come with a unlockable bootloader?
Be interesting if you could actually get wifi calling to work. I definetly need it as service is spotty in certain places of my house. Have Verizon but I'm paying outright regardless so it'd be the same price.
What about updates? I know for the unlocked S7, the updates were actually slower than the carrier branded, which is actually kinda crazy.

Hi!
I'm thinking of doing same. Do you have exact model #? Also, when you say "unlocked" do you mean SIM unlocked or is it also "BOOTLOADER" unlocked, or both?
If you don't know, can you send link ?
TIA for your response.

I just preordered the unlocked version from Samsung.com as well. http://www.samsung.com/us/galaxy/note8/buy/ It was $960.00 for the Sprint version or $929.99 for Unlocked. I chatted online with customer service and they said the only difference with the Unlocked version was the lack of carrier apps (carrier bloat). Unlocked means Carrier/SIM Unlocked. Unless Samsung had a miraculous change of heart, the bootloader will be locked just like the Snapdragon Note 7, S7, & S8.

There is no bootloader unlocked NA device.

When I saw that the unlocked version worked on Verizon, I was surprised until I saw that the processor on the unlocked Note 8 is Qualcomm Snapdragon and not Exynos.
