Difference between EMUI 9 and Android Pie - Honor Play Questions & Answers

EMUI 9 is "based on" Android Pie, but - and this is really aimed at people with the beta - what's the difference? Is there anything missing/extra in EMUI 9? I read somewhere that EMUI 9 won't initially have navigation gestures, and that when it does it'll be different.

my notification area is a bit messed up looking now. This wasn't in the list of changes. The change list made it look like a minor updates (performance etc) Maybe it will grow on me. I do like that the brightness control is bigger now.

New Pie Camera App on Oreo?

I see the new Camera App included in the latest Pie Update includes the Night Mode and QR Scanner features.
Is there any way to get that new Camera App installed on Note 9 running Oreo (without upgrading to Pie) ?
Why just not upgrade to Pie?

Pros and cons list ?
Benefits of Oreo (useful features that Pie lacks
Benefits of Pie (useful features lacking in Oreo)
Could be an interesting list for Oreo fans to compile and useful in general for users wanting to make a choice.
I will start by saying I preferred the multi tasking / split screen method in Oreo.
For Pie I quite like the often underrated in my view, value of more recent security updates .
For the sake of clarity my Note 9 is Exynos model on the latest version of Pie and I have been happily using Pie since beta versions on January 2019
Yes, I like Oreo's split-screen better. There's already some really good Oreo vs Pie threads that list out many of the likes/dislikes and pros/cons... well worth the read.
So getting this runaway train back on track I'm just wondering if there's any way to install the new Pie Camera App on Oreo ?
Interested too
It did not work on Oreo. I tried several programs to update Oreo and blocked my phone. It had to be reset. I went to Pie and I'm so happy.
Hi folks!
I think is better Oreo camera app, because you have in the same screen both buttons: Picture & Video, usefull for use the same fx like beauty modes, etc..
Thats is why I downgrade to Oreo
Hi! I notice as soon PIE arrives, that we need to slide between photo & video mode. With Oreo in the same mode you had two buttons in the same screen: one for pic another for video...
I had to downgrade to Oreo, do you guys know if with some update this feature as been fixed in PIE?
Thanks!!!!

Possibility to install older camera in EMUI 10?

Dear all,
I like B&W photography and I would like to buy an used P20 pro.
The one I found has EMUI 10.*
I already have a P10 plus and kept it on EMUI 8 because the camera app offers the possibility to manually adjust parameters like saturation, contrast and brightness at shot.
This functionality is eliminated from EMUI 9 onward.
Has anybody tried to install an older camera app (for instance from EMUI 8) on newer systems?
Otherwise, is it possible to downgrade from 10 to somehow?
Thanks for any help

Android 11 AOD on Android 12 and notifications panel

Hello.
Is it possible to have AOD from Android 11 on rooted stock Android 12?
Is it also possible to somehow change how quick settings toggles looks on Android 12? Previous one, from Android 11, looked a lot better
I'd just go back to A11, lol.
Not sure about AOD
but here is one of the best I've seen for changing the horrid A12 Quick Settings.
