Dirty Unicorns Semi GSI for Samsung Devices

What is this?
This is a Semi Generic System Image. That means it's a generic system image that's been optimized as much as possible for our Samsung Devices.
How the heck do I flash this?
It's slightly different than flashing a zip, so here's what you need to do.
Download the image file
Flash Endurance GSI Kernel in TWRP
Flash BRJ6 Vendor
Flash the System Image to your System Partition
Optional if you want root (but reccomended): Reboot to recovery again then flash your choice of Magisk. I use 17.1 as I can get galaxy wear to work with that version.
Reboot your device and you should be good to go! No need to flash gapps as they're included.

You need to install GAPPS 9.0 after rebooting into recovery following install of system image. This should be mentioned in the instructions.
Then you will get the usual install section after boot up and the usual google apps etc. I used GAPPS 9.0 nano.
All working well on my S9+.

Best rom atm! Perfect to set it up just the way you want it without bloat apps.
Just had to change Product.model to pixel xl in build props to get higher quality on Facebook vids.

I can't flash the system image . Why is it ending in .xz ?

Its a compressed file, I just used 7zip to extract it.

Is Bluetooth working for you?

which camera you're using on this ROM?

Didn't work for me, had two issues:
-Internal Data not being seen
- No network connection
- Says not to flash gapps, but it is needed as nothing is installed.
For me now, this isn't a usable ROM.

Fingerprint in 3rd-party-apps
Hello @All,
i installed this good rom on my G965F and everything is working - BIG thx @devs...
I have only one question/issue: With my registered fingerprint i can unlock the screen - this works perfect, but in 3rd-party-apps i get an error with fingerprint and i cant use my fingerprint in these apps (e.g. banking app). Anyone know how to use my fingerprint in 3rd-party-apps? This is not working on all Pie-(s)GSI, not only on DU...

How to Install:
Make sure You're on latest Open Beta Q or H2OS Beta Q firmware!
Note: Backup Your nudes before flashing the rom! It will wipe Your internal storage.
As of 20.2.27 Build, EPR is no longer needed so just simply run force wipe flasher/dirty flasher (if previous build) and enjoy!
Use EPR before flashing this ROM! After that flash latest Open Beta Q twice,
and remember which slot You have resized!
New detailed Guide by @umangtayal
1. Reboot to TWRP blu_spark 3.3.1-x (v9.101).
2. Flash latest Open Beta Q for OP6 and twrp, and reboot to recovery
3. Again flash latest Open Beta Q and twrp and reboot to recovery (this will flash dp3 to both slots).
4. After latest Open Beta Q flashing is done, make sure you are in slot A of twrp (if you are in slot B, simply go to reboot and at the bottom select slot A).
5. Now in twrp(slot A), run epr on slot A.
6. After epr is done, your device will boot into fastboot.
7. Now run the MIUI flasher while in fastboot. This will flash MIUI to slot A (in slot B it will show "volume full" error, which is perfectly normal)
8. After flashing is done, you can reboot to recovery and flash magisk or simply reboot to system.
There is a seperate thread on EPR( enchilada partition resizer). if you dont know how to use epr, simply google it and you'll find the xda thread.
If You want to update, or You don't want to format Your data use "flasher_no_format_data".

on 6t. cant boot into miui10. get the device is corrupt screen. pressing power button twice as well.
changed slot to Oxygen OS and it booted fine (I had flashed MIUI 10 Pie on the inactive slot and then made it active). of course I did all the steps listed in the scripts including a data wipe.

im getting sound stuttering system wide. not just on youtube

Maybe with a custom app we can get alert slider working properly. Just thought...

Try this:
Flash OOS 9.0.7 twice in TWRP(flash, reboot twrp, flash again). So that both A and B partitions will have 9.0.7
And then run the flasher with cmd or terminal. If You're on Windows. Just double tap on flasher and it will start flashing.
It's important to flash this rom with fastboot included in the zip.
So just run the flasher and not every command separately.
Before I made the flasher, lots of OP6 users couldn't boot it either.

I think it might be related to DRM because in some places like Soundcloud and when You select a ringtone, it sounds fine.

Title says "For Nokia Devices". So you can flash this. Someone says voLTE not working. U can flash and check.

Does Google Pay still work on this?

Forget VoLTE, I couldn't even make calls. But after looking at the logs, it was due to some permission denials. So I disabled and enabled Telephony permission for Dialer and I was able to make and receive calls.
Coming back to VoLTE, I had to flash the VoEnabler Magisk module to enable it.
For Google Pay to work, disable phone permission for Google Play Services (and maybe flash SafetyPatch module too, it just changes the device build fingerprint to a Huawei phone).
If you miss the Nokia Camera, you can download and install it from here. ISO and shutter speed can't be changed in pro mode. OZO audio also doesn't work and audio recording is meh
Overall, I would say that this GSI is smoother compared to Stock.

TWRP is not needed. You can use fastboot.

Very smooth rom! Only bug I've encountered is that I have to reinsert my sim after every reboot. Otherwise super snappy!

Alert Slider(There's xposed app that can fix it. But one day we will have background app for that Edit: I already made the core part of the app now just more code and it will be finished.)
Reading mode / Colour & Contrast Settings aren't working (framework thing, might be impossible to fix without deodexing)
Auto Rotation toggle doesn't do anything (framework thing too, can be fixed through vendor so I'll experiment with that soon)
Fastboot lock might happen (difficult to fix because of like 50 libs containing stuff to fix it, and any of these libs can break boot so yeah..)
Update: I got confirmation that Deodexing does ruin most if not all Pie roms and messes up performance a lot so framework related bugs might be impossible to fix. Thankfully those are bugs that most people don't use but if I have to decide between laggy experience or non working Reading Mode then I'll choose better performance with broken Reading mode. Good news is that KLAPSE should be capable of giving You kernel based Reading mode/Night Filter so check it out. Auto rotation is a kinda annoying bug but it only happens because OP uses flat rotation. Unlike other devices. Maybe OP could change that in future update.
How to Install:
Make sure You're on Pie OB8 firmware! Or 9.0.7 for 6T users and flash custom kernel afterwards

I tried recently fixing RIL again but without much luck. I talk to a couple of Devs who are working on OneUI too and they don't have much progress either.

I tried cleaning logcat as much as I could so it should be similar to my other ports.

Sometimes when rebooting it rebooted the system as expected, other times it rebooted to the bootloader with no way to boot back into android. Can you help me to fix it?

Reboot

I was using Pe+ for a good while without fp or message issues, Android Pie though. I'll wait patiently till these issues are fixed on Android Q. Good job nevertheless!

Put it in sim2 tray u will get message

Should I flash stock vendor? If i came from custom vendor rom like los 16?

For anything with system destroyed, dont forget to flash vbmeta 4kb one

Thanks for this! This Rom can be more stable than any GSI ROM that I've tried once the SMS issue is fixed.

My Realme Q cannot use fingerprint authentication too.
I hope a new patch will be released.

Umm... I flashed TWRP for Realme 5 Pro and installed patches, but it doesn't work.
The stored fingerprints are displayed, but there is no fingerprint authentication in the lock selection.:crying:

How can I go back to stock rom?
