This looks good, though do you believe that rooting the Mate 20 Pro will be achievable? As it stands we don't even have the option to Allow OEM Unlocking in developer settings and so without that we're pretty stuck....

The mate 20 looks sublime, but after the diabolical development scene here on the p20 pro I have to say I wouldn't buy another Huawei as it's going to be a lot worsen following the bootloader decision, even though there is a paid for alternative it's enough to put off so many users, coupled with the mental way Huawei ROMs are made too.
Root will happen, but I'd be very surprised to see many developers go near any Huawei or Honor device again.
Topjohnwu is the man to watch for all things root.

where can i find how to do it?

The picture posted is for the honour view 10 ?
(I googled the model number) as yet the only way to get a rooted device is to buy it pre-rooted. I'm guessing its possible to inject root into a rom image but getting it flashed is a different problem as it looks like Huawei has blocked manual updates from the device and as I understand it you are only able to update ROMs directly from them ?

It wasn't release and probably never be released as Huawei confirms that they will not release the Pie kernel source code so root will close to impossible to happen as of the moment.

It's so sad to see huawei ignore international users ...
Wow, totally ignored, like it doesn't even exist.
Just wondering if there are international versions of other smartphones there? It's from chinese forum so I hope they simply didn't post the international versions there...

I asked Huawei on official polish facebook fanpage and got a reply that it will be available in december.

Whilst I have the P7-L07 variant and could upgrade if I wished to, I've decided against it. From what I have read by various contributors, TWRP isn't compatible although a Chinese language CWM recovery is available. As well, the upgrade to EMUI3.0 doesn't seem to offer a huge increase in functionality plus there are incompatibilities with Xposed. There has to be a reason some users want to downgrade. So perhaps the upgrade presents more problems such that it's scarcely worth the trouble. I'm using a custom ROM created by a Chinese author "KillProcess" (compatible with the L-10) with Apex launcher. All up an excellent combination.
Where can I download the custom Rom that you're using? Is it compatible with my P7-L10?
Thanks

custom ROM from "KillProcess" (compatible with the L-10)

For those who have tried the ROMs from the article- does this seem to be pre-release from AT&T/Samsung or a polished custom ROM?
Does it trip KNOX?
Has the bootloader changed? Can you downgrade back to BRA1?
Big issues from using it as a daily driver?

Dose not trip KNOX, bootloader is 5th symbol from end on build , so no did not change and you can downgrade since bootloader did not change. There will be always some issues in pre-released builds.
seems i get an error when attempting to install

Any details about how this update affects anything to do with the bootloader? From DC-Unlocker support to people who already have the bootloader unlock code.

I honestly don't know but I know people using the standard Mate 10 found some results. I'd suggest you download DC-Unlocker and find if it detects the device (don't do anything with it unless you want to pay for a bootloader unlock).
Hey guys i need some help. After downloading this new update, my phone automatically installed it. When the process almost 50% the update failed and shows an error. I just press the option to reboot the system. When its finally reboot, I was going to reinstall the update but my phone downloading the new update instead. The update called "RNE-L22 8.0.0.330 (C636patch01)". Is this normal???

It's normal after patch01 it should download the normal ROM again.
Unfortunately, there is no new update available after patch01.. Did the error made my phone miss some important update? If i want to reinstall the update, how to do it?

Is your bootloader unloacked? If you have unlocked your bootloader, you can flash the EEA rom or Global rom or flash TWRP and install a Xiaomi.eu rom. All of those allow for regional changes in setup.
I'd advise you to just get the Xiaomi.EU Rom. Just pick the Stable one IMO

Is there no way to resolve it without flashing the ROM? I am little apprehensive about flashing the ROM as I have not done the before
Have you tried more locale 2 app from play store? If not, you give it a try

It's the version of GMS that gets installed by some shops before shipping. It doesn't have location tracing and a few others and really is not much use if you are outside China. As others have said, get your bootloader unlocked, wait the 168 hours and change over to the EU ROM. Pop over to the EU forum for all the pro's and downloads but everyone here will help if they can and most users post on both forums. https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/21-7-21-22.62299/

Glad you have found a way around your country settings. You may well find other shortcomings in the mini GMS too. Only resolution is to flash a full GMS included ROM. But as long as your needs are catered for, it's all good.
