Fullscreen apps - Honor Play Questions & Answers

With the notch enabled (might as well - if you disable the notch the notification icons don't move down a line so you might as well have a fullscreen background instead of black) most apps don't actually use the space. The launcher does, for the backdrop. Oh, and citymapper. Not Firefox, though. Is there a way of forcing apps to use the top of the screen when in their fullscreen mode. I'm not talking about what the phone calls fullscreen - forcing that makes no difference here.

Anyway to completely hide the top status bar? (but still pull down for notifications)

The top status bar is a waste of space to me and quite annoying when I am browsing the web in landscape mode as it takes up precious real estate.
I would really like to be able to hide the status bar from showing anywhere on the phone (including while I am in apps), yet still be able to swipe down to see notifications if I need to.
Is there any way I could do this? Perhaps once I'm rooted or a certain rom?
Thank you for your help.
The Nova launcher (Play store) has an option to show or hide the notification bar. Touching the top edge makes it visible if it has been hidden.

Launchers (like Nova) only hide the notification bar while you are on the homescreen.
I on the other hand, want to hide the notification bar throughout the entire phone, even while I'm in applications.
Is there any way to do this?
If you can root and get xposed (which doesn't work with ART), you can install the "Immerse Me" module, which will do exactly what you are asking for.
"Precious real estate".....3/16ths of an inch? Lol
K.....I got that out of the way.
Did you Google this? For real? There seems to be some ways where you have to edit this file or that. But no guarantee it works ....and to me seems like it could cause trouble.
So you could fire up Google and try these ways.....must be rooted of course.........or you could just leave well enough alone and live with that 3/16ths of space being taken up.
Sent from my Moto X cellular telephone...
There is an app in the Play Store that accomplishes this without root called Immersive Full-Screen Mode ($1.29). The keyboard doesn't work right now, which might be a showstopper for you (I only use it for things like Play Newsstand or an e-reader app so I don't mind), but the dev is very active so the keyboard issue may be fixed eventually. It's worth a look, at any rate.

How to automatically hide navigation bar for some apps ?

Hello guys,
Here is my problem. I usually let the navigation visible by default on my Note 8. I use them all the time, especially in apps like Whatsapp, where having a swipe up gesture to make them appear is not acceptable for my experience.
But for some apps, this white bar happens to be unsightly, especially for apps like Spotify or 9Gag, which don't require a lot of interaction with the softkeys and have a pretty decent in-app navigation experience without softkeys.
I am trying to find an app to hide my Navigation Bar (the softkeys) for a specific list of app, and make it appear again when I leave these apps.
I am not talking about enabling the "Expanded Desktop mode" for these apps, but only to hide the softkeys.
Thank you, guys !
Hopefully this will help other users to settle with the same issue

Android One - Home/back button area sizeable (without shrinking everything)?

I can't find this anywhere else. The Home/Back/active windows bar actually takes up real estate on the screen. Is there any way to shrink it down (other than reducing the font size of everything)? I have it shrunk already using the font reduction but would like to shrink it more (and I may want to have other fonts the normal size).
I am using the Android One version.
Just to add to this, I tried installing SystemUI Tuner but didn't have any luck. Immersive Mode activated on the navbar was promising (basically, it hides the nav bar until you click near it like the minimize the Windows Taskbar works) but for whatever reason, I could not wake the phone up from sleep with it active (had to reboot the phone and disable it).

Apps not fitting screen + navigation bar driving me nuts

Anyone having issues with apps not "fitting" the screen? Often if I try to take a photo via fb messenger the camera-app will be oversized, I will only see the lower half of the editing menu on top, etc.
As for snapchat - I prefer using the virtual navigation bar, but the bar is positioned right next to/upon the buttons on the snapchat app. I suck at explaining. Basically I keep pushing the backward button when I am trying to save. Same when writing on the keyboard at times. I want the navigation bar to show at all times, but have to use the setting where I can put it away for several apps. Soo backwards. And I hate the other navigation-options even more. I was sooo excited for this phone. Not too much anymore.

Am I doing it all wrong or is there any solution to this? Snapchat and fb messenger has no full screen display on/off option either.
I do have the same problem. Most of the time i open up Instagram, my screen is scaled to my resolution which is bad, cause some things are croped then... have u gotten any help so far?
Have to wait for Android P with notch support basically
Yeah, strange! Yesterday I got OnePlus 6, and when you activate the app to work on the full-screen mode it will fill all the screen even the area around the notch, but on my P20 Pro, it works exactly like the older screens (without the notch). Both phones have the same Android version.

Best solution for me was to turn off the navigation bars in the settings and use the fingerprint scanner to navigate back, go through recent apps and go home.

Hide Air Triggers red and blue on screen

Hi I just wanted to share you something that I have realized while I am trying to find a way to use transparent colors instead of the hated red and blue blinking circles when triggers are pressed.
You will have air triggers functional transparent but you will lose the slide panel on the left, so here is what I found:
You need to open the game that you want to use with transparent trigger colors and set the triggers in the button position that you want to assign, then when you are 100% sure that is in the right place... Go to phone settings, search apps section, open show system apps and search for game genie, select it and deny show over apps permission... That way you can go back to your game and play with transparent air triggers but will lose sliding left panel, I have tested it with ppsspp emulator.
If you want to view again the red and blue just re-enable the show over other apps permission in game genie app.
I know is a ugly option but it is the only way I have found to do it so far.
And great one so far thanks for sharing
