I ran in to that problem before pushing permissions for greenify (adb). The solution was to turn off the floating bar, and voila! Working!

I believe "Draw over other apps" interfere in some way? Find the apps with that permission granted and disable, one by one, and see if that works?

Ah! Now THAT I have! What an odd connection.

If you get a simple reboot then you don't have the one or two different V40s that can (one being the unlocked B&O variant)

Well this seemed as possible as anything. I had many apps granted draw over permission. So I took away the permissions for all, rebooted, and tried again. Still nothing. No response, except power, from the USB and no ability to change USB settings in Developer Settings. Rats!

+1 what is up with handcent? It sends fine but won't pull my contacts with the little + sign, I can only pull groups like ALL favorites, etc.
Also my phone had experience a few times today where when I push the power button to show unlock screen, the four home buttons come on with the unlock screen dimmed and the phone hangs. Need to pull battery.
What is wrong with froyo? This didn't happen before!

I had to uninstall handcrnt SMS because it keeps trying to send when the text has already been sent.

[Q] Text-to-speech Toggle?

Ok, somehow during setup I toggled on this annoying TTS feature where it reads each word I type while sending a text. However, in loads of googling and searching various boards, I cannot find any reference to changing this setting. I would like to turn it off. Thoughts?

I haven't tried this personally but the first thought I had was it sounds like you might have accidently turned on "voice readouts" under the accessibility settings.
I'll test it myself and get back to you.
Edit: I just tried turning it on, I got very similar behavior to what you're talking about.
That was my first thought but none of my accessibility features are turned on. I forgot to mention it only happens when typing on the virtual keyboard.

[Q] How to disable"Screen always on while charging"?

Hello,
Very stupid thing... I have no idea how but I have enabled the Screen always on while charging feature because, that's what happens.
The problem is I'm on stock LRG Rom and there is no option on developer section, in settings.
How do I disable this? Pretty annoying.
Thanks

It should turn it off automatically after 30s, like I've defined in settings. And it does when NOT charging. When charging is always on...

I left my phone on while charging, so I just press the off button once to turn off the screen. Hopefully it will solve your problem

It solves... temporarily. Whenever the screen turn on (battery charged notification, sms notification, etc) it won't go off again. This is a problem if I leave it charge during the night (like it happened last night).

I said "stock LRG Rom" just with root, and also said " there is no option on developer section". I know that some Roms have this option, but not this one. Have no idea how I have enable the option that is not available in the UI.
Is this any option in some config file where I can check (as said, I have root).
I saw somewhere that clearing cache processes(Ram) does the job.. But I dunn remember properly. Maybe u should give it try....

Full restart? [Moto X - Verizon 5.1]

Hi All, quick question. Since upgrading to 5.1 on my verizon Moto X, I noticed that they removed the option to restart the phone. When I just "power off" all my recent apps are still remaining. This makes me think it is not truly resetting cache and doing a full re-boot. Is this true? If so, is there a way to do a "cold boot" or full restart? (Not wipe, just reboot)
Thanks in advance!

check on the play store, I know that some apps (although may require root), may let you reboot. look at titanium backup for example.

That's a little annoying Motorola would make it so that I have to root my phone just to reboot it.

Oh, didn't realize it was Android that prevents that. So there is no way to really refresh the system if it seems to be getting bogged down?

Oh, I was doubting whether that really reset anything because all my recent apps are still there. But if it has a similar effect, awesome.

here's how to root on the latest OS: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/root-moto-x-att-xt1058-5-1-lpa23-12-21-1-t3164125
you may also be able to boot in the stock recovery by holding down all 3 buttons (power + volume up + volume down) for 5 seconds, then release power & volume up. once in recovery, navigate with the volume down button only (volume up = enter). from there, you may be able to wipe cache/dalvik which can help clear out the cob webs. this is safe and does not wipe data or factory resets.
also, if you go to your settings -> storage, you can clear out cached data.
hope this helps.

Note 8 Notification panel swipes up by itself.

So this is my replacement Note 8 cuz my last one was giving me LTE problems. That problem seems to be gone now. But now my notification panel( when swiped down) swipes back up on its own. Same when making a selection. If I turn Wi-Fi on or off, the panel jus swipes . Also it does not do this all the time but pretty often. Any fix???

Guess, you could try a factory reset to see if that fixes it. (You can also Tell Bixby to restart into SAFE mode and see if it happens, cause that will indicate if its an app that you've installed) But, maybe even try a different launcher first to see if it persists? If a different launcher fixes this...then try clearing the cache and data of the Samsung launcher...(sorry don't know what it's called). So, basically...Factory Reset as last resort. If Factory Reset doesn't resolve...then you might need another phone.
Factory reset didn't help. I have the same issue.

You could try and delete the cache and maybe data of each of the apps that you've installed one by one... Other than that, I don't know an easier way than a Reset.
I have the same issue. I haven't tried to fix it yet. If you find that it's an app or you find the problem please post.

I wonder if this has to do with the feature where the user can just swipe on the fingerprint sensor to pull down/up the notification shade. I know that can be turned off.
Both are disabled on my phone and the issue is still present.

happening to me too. just started doing either yesterday or the day before. I don't think I even installed any apps when it started happening. I already tried going back to touch wiz from nova and it is still doing it. Also tried turning on the fingerprint swipe to make the notifications open up, and it is still doing it. So its definitely not one of those issues.
