Android M Snapchat Force Close

Anyone's snapchat forceclosing on android M? I just updated my snapchat and it opens and forecloses right away. Please help.

Just google snapchat apk and download a version that is 2 versions old.

Missing Native Libraries
Hiya,
This is caused by the Snapchat APK not having the libscplugin.so and libsccrypto.so native libraries within the armeabi-v7a folder.
These are required in order for the application to sign the login requests.
I'm not sure why they haven't included them in that build, must be something to do with the Android M ABI configuration.
I extracted the libs from the APK downloaded from Google Play with Lollipop and then Android M.
The Lollipop APK has all of the required libs in armeabi-v7a folder, and does not include an x86 folder.
However, the Snapchat APK downloaded via Google Play on Android M contains an armeabi-v7a AND an x86 libs folder...
The issue here, is that in the APK for Android M, the libsccrypto.so and libscplugin.so do not exist.
This is what is causing the force crash when you press the login button.
No idea how long it will take Snapchat to fix this, but since this is a preview build of Android M, it could be an issue with Android M itself, not sending the correct device information to Google Play.

You kind of have to go with the expectation that some things just won't work right when running a preview

I was having the same problem, but the newest version of Snapchat (9.13.0.0) and the beta (9.13.2.0 beta) work fine on Android M Preview 2.

I have tries the latest beta. It doesn't seem to work for me. I've only been able to get 9.9.00 to work for me. What's your setup. I'm running stock preview 2.

Okay so I discovered that it won't let you log in on the latest but if you're already logged in then you can update the app and it should work.
So just download 9.9.00 and log in then update.

I did this on Preview 2 without realizing it and it worked, but then installed it from the Play Store after flashing Preview 3. I ran into the same problem on the new preview, but the same workaround solved it.

I just did a 100% fresh install of Android M-preview3, and here's the steps i took to get Snapchat working on my phone.
Downloaded Snapchat from the Play Store, v9.14.1.0
Tried to login; Force Close!
Uninstalled v9.14.1.0
Downloaded v9.9.0.0 from Apk Mirror
Installed v9.9.0.0
Tried logging into the app... Login successful!!!
Went to the Play Store and updated the app to v9.14.1.0
Ran the app... No force close!

I've got the same problem, looks like Snapchat doesn't support the old versions anymore, so you are forced to update the app, but when you do it you can't log in because it crashes.. You have to wait until Snapchat fixes the bug. I am going back to Lollipop, can't live without Snapchat

I am, until Snapchat publishes an update or there is another solution, but I think that this workaround was the only one..

Working fine for me. I'm on L09C432B182

Apparently it isn't compatible with any Huawei handset that has been upgraded to EMUI 5.0.
I literally updated mine just the other day, and it just crashes out on starting up the app. . . frustrating.
I do hope they manage to fix it soon.

Have you tried clearing the Apps Cache & Data. Maybe if you clear both and start the login process again, it will work?:fingers-crossed:

As said above works on marshmallow but not on Nougat.

I've spoke to Barclays they are aware of the problem didn't give me a time frame for when the app would work just check when the app updates

Well, at least it's not just me. My phone only recently updated to EMUI 5.0 (Nougat) build and suddenly, Barclays is dead. Great.

yes known problem barclays are aware. i rolled back to MM so I could use this app mainly.

Did you guys read the changelog before updating to Android 7? It specifically says that the Barclays app would crash because it doesn't support Android 7.

Try updating it on playstore. This might solve the issue.

Received an update today which fixed the app (for the Honor 6x at least).

Still not working on P10 or Pingit!!!

My "moto x 2014" crashed, then reinstalled a firmware and then install the lineage 14.1, since then tild or restart, especially if I want to use the facebook app ... any council?

I have the same problem, and I try other rom and the problem still there.
I thought it was a hardware problem, but maybe can be a software problem.

Same problem here.
Already did a clean install. After that, installed Facebook and phone freezed. Removed Facebook and untill now it's Ok.
Tomorrow I do a status update.
No more chrashes! But also no Facebook...

I have installed AospExtended ROM V5.0 Alpha (8.0.0) and Open GApps stock and everything works fine, included Facebook

There is an issue with FB app it stopped in every ROM

I'm facing the same problem with lineage-14.1-20171125-nightly-victara-signed with twrp-3.1.1-0-victara and opengapps pico
The first time the whole system froze, the touchscreen was unresponsive then it restarted by itself when opening facebook app, after that it froze and restarted more often while doing anything else, even while charging.
And also another weird behaviour happened: the system lost the current date and time everytime it restarted, and it still happens when I normally restart the cellphone.
Following the suggestions I uninstalled the facebook app, and I'm currently testing if the "lite" version of facebook app doesn't crash the rom (so far, it hasn't restarted in about 30 minutes)

OMG! You wouldn't believe what I have been going through over these crashes that started last week. I only found out yesterday that Facebook had something to do with it. But I thought it was because of the FB app's size, and that my storage was faulty, and/or corrupted. I changed roms (RR, Lnge, kitchen sink) factory reset, adb and efchk the partitions. I was moments away from buying a new phone. I really need to come here more often.

Sad to hear this, I thought that lineage-14.1-20171125-nightly-victara-signed will solve it.

It's been around 7 hours using facebook lite (I'm also using messenger lite just in case) without abnormal restarts. So far so good. This seems to be the current workaround until a new update arrives.

I'm now using lineage-14.1-20171125 with facebook lite and messenger lite and everything works fine.

I have experienced the same problem with Facebook/Messenger in LineageOS 14.1 (the latest version on their official website). Have Facebook/Messenger Lite been working fine?
For me the workaround was to install an unofficial LineageOS 15 (w/ Oreo). There I have installed all apps normally.

My Moto is the XT1092 and it detected the SIM card immediately when I rebooted after the installation. I used the Lineage OS from Anderson Mendes androidfilehost folder. Hope it helps.

PetrZh last Saturday a new nightly version of lineage was released . It had some fixes regarding the SIM card detection. If you still have this problem I advise you too install this last update.
I also saw that they released some changes that might affect the performance of some apps. However, I didn't tried to install the Facebook/Messenger

Facebook work till LOS 27/11, that's what i tested, and all custom ROMs before November 2017 , only talking about android 7.1

Google App not loading searches on new update (CLT-L29C636B131)

So I updated the system to the new release. Phone is rooted with TWRP, never had and issue on 128 firmware.
On this new release, google apps can't load any of my searches. Also can't seem to add google accounts to the phone. It just freeze and the loading bar never completes. Same with Chrome App, but I think Chrome Beta works fine. Anyone else have this issue?

Didn't get the update yet. Still waiting for the official way. It's approved tho for my device

If you are using magisk 16.6, downgrade to 16.4 because last beta breaks google webview, at least on p20 pro.

I am on OB17 and Safety Net passed. I don't use Google Pay so I cannot comment. I am stock, no root.

I am having bootloop issue on oneplus7pro with OOS openbeta 17 after flashed Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_03.04.2020.zip,it was working on openbeta16,anyone here facing the same issue?

My phone is rooted and I have a custom kernel installed, is it safe to update?

I'm having bootloop on ob17 using latest twrp and magisk canary, modules disabled, stock kernel. Boots fine if magisk is uninstalled.

No issues here. Did not use TWRP retention, just flashed installer.

The only other thing that changed recently is an update to Google Play Services (beta).
Can you confirm which version you've got there?
EDIT: ignore, downgraded Google Play Services to latest stable version and still failing.
Not sure what went wrong, but I guess the only solution is a factory reset at this point
