My Sot For 12H and 44M In redmi 4x - Xiaomi Redmi 4X Guides, News, & Discussion

Flashing a custom rom and used a different rom Everday or week can harmful your battery in phone, this happend to me before when i'm always flashing a new custom rom like aex aosip, havoc and pie, everyday, or week in my redmi 5A and then in 2 month my battery get worse than before, i just can sot 6-7h only, before the problem happend i can sot 10-11h.
The Problem is always flashing a rom and cause hardware got a big problem or sick. I Have done with calibrate my battery, but it still bad. I also make a look and conclusion for my friends phone and after all of them always flashing a custom rom, battery got a drain problem and cannot sot 7-8h again just 5-6h and this totally are bad for us to keep flashing and hack our phone system.
Now i'm using a redmi 4x about 5-6 month, i don't unlock my bootloder and never flashing a custom rom, because the cause of hardware problem after used many rom.
Now i can get 11-12 h sot, do you trust it??
I also never push the update for miui, just use old miui version. Because it also will cause drain problem for our battery life.
In conclusion, just used our phone carefully, don't going to mad, making your phone like iphone 6+ because your phone are miui and are xioami phone.?

I have 9 hours sot on my MIUI 10 .. I also try many custom ROM .. but not everyday . My suggestion after flashing custom ROM is to use you new ROM for weeks before the battery adapt the new ROM. I never have any major problem with the battery life. I'm know using xiaomi.eu miui 10 stable ROM. Like I said above ..screen on time minimum is 7 hours and can last to 9 hours. This phone I bought from last year. Great battery life ...

I have also stopped flashing custom ROMs. Every single custom ROM I've tried, have different kinds of bugs and issues, and couldn't find to solve them. I have wasted months doing this. Best battery life I got in RR Luis Oreo through a few fix, but it's got worse later on new updates. Battery backup on MIUI now is going fine, performance and stability too. Actually, MIUI is all rounded. No hidden errors in logcats too.
Now I'm happy in MIUI, using xiaomi.eu(though I like updates), but still waiting for a custom up to date good kernel based on new source and also on my choice.

I use custom miui 9 by xiaomieu and i've 11-12h

Battery Cliffs

Someone asked a similar question, but the last reply is a year old and the last reply was about settling. I don't want to just settle if I don't have to, I'm curious as to why.
Decided to try using a Droid 4 again, and I've been running into what killed me off of it in the first place: serious battery level issues.
It seems that every custom ROM I try has a broken battery meter:

This is CM 13 or 14 (Marshmellow or Nougat), I don't remember. Was actually looking for a different screenshot and realized that this had what I needed too
(I dont know CM versions as well,so please excuse me if I'm naming them wrong)
I'd say that its a battery problem, but If I go back to stock this doesn't happen (90% sure on that. I'm in the process of doing some more testing and actually documenting things. Wanted to toss something out while I wait for file transfers to see if anyone else gets this.
I think I once used a modified stock rom and it worked without battery cliffs either. This is my second D4, and the first had the same jumps in battery too.
To be fair, the same thing started happening with my HTC Thunderbolt, albeit on stock and a bit more drastically.

Try resurection remix it works pretty good on my droid 4. Its the unnofficial version ported to the droid 4 by transil. It is in the development section for this device. Also if you use bettery battery stats you can get the apk here on xda. You can use this apk to see what is draining your battery.

Battery life on Flyme 6 vs 7?

I get around 4-5 hours SOT on 24h mixed use on Flyme 7.8.4.22 daily. Standby drain is quite low but not very low (4-5% over the night). This is quite good but not great. Does anyone know if Flyme 6 provides better battery life?
GSM-arena got fantastic battery life during their assesment (e.g. almost 16 hours web browsing) but that was on Flyme 5.2 and no one wants to use that firmware anymore.

Standby drain in flyme 6 is better (2-3% over night), but overall I dont see bigg difference with flyme 7.
Sometime with 7 (some daily firmware, for example now with 7.8.5.24) phone became hotter with Chrome browser and camera.

Out of curiosity if flashed Flyme 5.2.7.1A yesterday. Battery life seems much better on this firmware (around 50% better). AccuBattery estimates 9-10 hours continuous on screen time compared to 6 hours when I was using Flyme 7. Stanby-drain is also lower on Flyme 5 but not by much. I had a similair experience with Meizu M3X when I owned that phone half a year ago, It had fantastic battery life on Flyme 5 but much worse on Flyme 6.
hi guys.any baterry change betwin G and A roms? im on latest G and im gettin +/- 6hrs.
I flashed the latest 7.0.1 global firmware a couple of days ago, and I've noticed high temperatures and battery drain comparing to previous 6.3.0 G that I was using.
Anyone else noticed the same?
If it continues like that, most probably I'll downgrade to 6.3.0 - any thoughts on this?

I also noticed the same.
6.3 got about 5-6H screen on time without problem, but with 7 I got 4-5h max.
Have you tried with flyme 5 vs 6.3?

No, but I've read that flyme 5 has better battery management vs flyme 6 and 7.

Hi, I'm in the same situation but I think that my battery life is much shorter now. It barely last one day now. My rom is MIUI Global 13.0.3 Stable. I didn't want to customize it, I'll try to hard reset and if I wont notice any change I thnk I'm going to downgrade or something else

Question Sleepy Kernel on PixelOS

Has anyone tried Sleepy Kernel on PixelOS? I am currently using it. The ROM is quite nice but one gripe i have is with fast charging its quite slow compared ( Attached SS Below ) to Miui and Battery life seems decent but i've heard Sleepy kernel is best when it comes to battery life. Has anyone tried it yet? Does it brick the device or is it supported? If anyone has tried please link a download link for the Kernel if possible. Thanks.

Well I flashed yesterday the latest sleepy kernel and everything works fine and battery now is amazing compared with previous kernel(latest vantom).
Did not noticed any delay on fast charge but battery life now is maybe even 3 times better than before!
PS: I am still on Pixel OS 12 last version 12/08/22 not the new one with Android 13.
Oh, I am on PixelOS 13 the latest one the battery life seems sub par to me ~14% active drain on using FB and Insta 0.4-0.6% idle drain. Should i dirty flash to PixelOS12?
Depends if you want a more stable enviroment without updates and bugs(Android 13) i think the old version of Pixel OS(August 22) it is the best solution.
I attach some screens of my battery usage,i am still on 58% from yesterday morning without using my phone too much.
Is the A12 build smooth? If I dirty flash to It will it be a problem? I don't want to set up all my apps again. Also yea I have noticed quite many few bugs in A13. Also if you don't mind tell me what the usual SoT are you getting on 120Hz. I'm torn between using PixelOS or Trying out CrDroid. ( haven't tried CrDroid but I've heard it has the closes BB to Miui while still offering A12 or A13 )

My Mi8 consistently gets worse 3DMark results compared to the rest

I switched to 12.5 ROM like a year ago after Xiaomi didn't deliver it as an update from the stock 12.0 ROM as they promised. I first checked the Google Pixel OS and did not enjoy the extremely basic UI then decided to turn back to MIUI since I actually like how it looks. While I was at it I decided to load the latest version possible.
I rooted the thing to experiment but ended up not being able to find much to gain with it since it is a failed product that didn't sell well, there were not many software stuff for it. Anyway out of curiosity I recently installed 3DMark and it performed very bad compared to average score. It looked like it wasn't boosting to max clock speeds so I tried forcing it to max clock speeds for both GPU and CPU with root Android toolbox. This somehow made it worse and get 800 points which is only better than %1 Mi8 phones that finished this test. So I reverted the changes and got the same 1140 ish score I got before. Tried testing it again while it was plugged to the charger with no difference. Max temperature was 33C which makes me believe it is not boosting to right clock speeds.
To be honest phone still feels ok to use and battery life is enough for me since I recently replaced the battery. So I will not be installing another OS if it is the only reason for the low score since I don't really care benchmark scores as long as I have a smooth experience. But I would like to know why it is so bad and if there is a way to solve the issue without re-flashing the whole thing. I also don't want to re-flash it since last time I tried loading back the stock ROM from the whole backup I created and it somehow randomly failed in the middle of it and corrupted the partition that was responsible to making it connect to SIM and Wifi and it was a pain in the ass to figure out what happened and fix it from the old save file I had.
I am also very bored by using this thing but don't really want to buy a new phone while they stagnated this much over the past years in terms of technological advancement. I am planning to make a custom 3D printed back for it and install like a 10K mah battery to BMS board of my old battery and unlock all the clock limits on the software to fully unlock its potential. Does anyone know where can I get a CAD file for this phone so I can design the stuff I need for this.
