You're not doing a good job explaining anything in this thread.
I'm assuming the dial code pulls up just the top camera, yeah?

For me:
Picture with OOS camera in 16:9 --> 9.7MP
Picture with OOS camera in 4:3 --> 16MP
Picture with GCamera in 16:9 --> 12MP
Picture with GCamera in 16:9 --> 16MP
Your trick is not working for me, still takes pictures with the same resolution... Where are my 20MP...?
About the video I can say it does record in 4K
EDIT:
I've read in oneplus forums that the secondary camera (20MP) is just used for blur effect and to collect data for the main camera, and if you use it with the debug mode it compresses 4 pixels in one (20MP/4 = 5MP)
Source: https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/no-20mp-camera-on-the-oneplus-6.852489/

If this is true and the telephoto 20mp sensor is shooting 5mp it would explain why close up details are so poor and file sizes are small on zoomed or close objects

So why exactly would they be doing this compression stuff? Does not make sense to me.. Maybe this is why everyone says the camera is crap is because they are limiting the hardware.

Not sure, just my point of view.
Coming from OP5 : the second rear camera is only used for zoom x2 and in big light (not sure about this point)
+ Taking the same pic with same settings twice at the same time : useless
Other camera, not main, are here to help the post process from main camera (HDR, image effect)

burst has 3 settings, high speed (1280x720) mid (3920x2204) and low (1920x1080)
HDR must be automatically disabled as turning it on/off manually makes no difference to burst speeds.
Stills settings on NORMAL

Burst mode is different again. Hold the button and it'll keep taking photos. What you want is a low shutter lag.. which is the delay between pressing the button and getting a photo. This depends very much on the camera hardware and the app driving it - it's very possible for one android phone to be slow and another very fast.
Rest assured this should be good... who do you think makes the iphone camera modules that you like so much

ah ok burst mode seems to be nice feature! Yeah I didn't really know if shutter lag is the right word^^ I didn't know that Sony is making the Camera hardware for apple, but that doesn't mean that it will be as fast as the Iphone taking pictures, because of their software...

Being slow isn't a bug it's a feature A feature called auto focus. When you click the camera button it first try to focus on the object it's facing before actually taking a pic. Try disabling it and you could use your camera to shoot like using a machine gun
And yeah burst mode is something similar to what I explained in a single click.

[APP][CAMERA-MOD][7.1.X] Collection camera Modded [NEWS][12/08]

@Arnova8G2 starting this thread for Mi Max 2. Please feel free to edit the content.
i can warmheartedly recommend this website right here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/
listing all current GCam ports from the most important devs in that area
At the moment, it looks like the Arnova8G2 ports are the most compatible ones with our Mi Max 2 phones. v1.2 doesnt have Portrait Mode but works flawlessly including HDR+ Enhanced and basically all Phone Model HDR+ modes. All v1.3 and v1.4 ports dont work well on our phones (lots of black screens). v1.5 beta works better and also includes a working Portrait Mode, however only "Nexus 6" Auto and "Pixel 2017 ZSL HDR no PD" Phone models work concerning HDR+, all others cause a black screen. Thus, HDR+ Enhanced is not available.
So its either v1.2 including HDR+ Enhanced due to lots of HDR+ phone models working properly, but without Portrait Mode
or
v1.5 including Portrait Mode but only with regular HDR+ due to just two phone modes working for HDR+
cheers!
Updated to V1.5Beta 2 and it's a lot better, Potraits works front and back. Motion took picture but nothing is saved.
I noticed Nexus 6 is really slow in processing
EDIT: Pixel 2017 ZSL HDR No PD/Pixel2 seems faster but stuck at processing HDR+ in gallery and photo never saved

Hi. yes, I do have the configuration that you mention. from old versions, 1.3. to me the video gives me failure. in version 1.5. recording at 4k I have no problem. if under the resolution to 1080 recording at 30FPM / 60FPM to take advantage of the stabilization, I get an error. therefore I have it at 4k and no error. the rest works great for me. Keep investigating. I have the .21 version of xiaomi eu. The other scrubber app works for me.

as for sub 1080p with video stabilization, i think thats miui related, since another member posted something similar. i have no troubles at all with video recording on lineage os 14.1, no matter which resolution or camera is used. stabilization is always switched on btw.

well im assuming you have root access, so:
- download the modded media_profiles.xml file as part of this zip package here: https://mega.nz/#!MKYyWaDL!zUzUivAblq9watfHBvFuCfhC0pBJMqgd6OalVSMLvHw
- unzip the package and overwrite the stock media_profiles.xml file in system/etc directory with the modded one
- set proper permissions of the new file to rw-r-r
- reboot
- test again and see if your issues are resolved
ull need a file manager with root access for that, im using es file explorer pro, for example.

Is it possible to use the 20 mp sensor with Google Camera?

Yes, i have camera2api enabled and the quality of the 12 mp sensor is stunning. But... i want to take adventages from the second sensor. I've tried some fu24 mods but all crashes right away you start the app.
Thanks in advance.
20mp is for the depth sensor and Mi A2 doesn't click pictures of 20mp. (i think so).

I'm not sure about this. In the Mi A2 page says that it uses the 12mp sensor to take daytime photos, and the 20mp to take low light photos. I think that the stock camera app can do this change automatically. But I'm not sure if GCAM app can do this too.
Probably GCAM is using the 12mp to every situation, and doing all the work into software, even to manage the portrait (focus) effect, ignoring the 20mp sensor.
It is possible but you will have only 5Mpx, because it's quadra bayer something technology

Only magisk module I have is pixel3 gcam enabler for mi a2(I think I found this on xda). GCam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.4.032219.1950.apk
Quality is not too low it is almost same with 12mp. Color correction is more accurate. It works for only photo and portrait (video, night sight tested others untested)
Edit: for samples I don't have stable interneth connection for now
Edit2: I found a way to use low light lens with night sight. After switching to low light lens just close your camera with your hand. on bottom try night sight will appear if you click that you can use it with night sight

Samsung Front Camera only left with 5 MP after Wide Selfie Update

It seems to me that the Wide Selfie Mode is a Scam. I realized this already a few Updates ago but was able to still downgrade, now with CSF9 i am stuck
In normal Selfie Mode i can only take Pictures with 5 MP, also other Camera Apps only recognize 5 MP. Only in the Samsung Camera and in Wide Selfie Mode i can take Pictures with 8 MP.
Could someone confirm this to me?
I had a short chat with Samsung Support and they told me it should not be that way and it would be fixed in the next Update but no idea how much i can trust in that

ME TOO!!
Yes true, first I thought its an issue with mine only!! the thing is it shows in SAM info+ app as 5 MP and on any other 3rd party app its only 5 MP!! mine is exynos N960f
Same for me, only 5.2 MP for normal selfie... exynos note 9, June patch.
same here with last update
Just change the selfie mode. It starts with the wide selfie and not the "normal" selfie.

Having the same problem with my newly bought Exynos Note 9. Hopefully the 8MP selfie option will return in Android 10.

If you click on "wide selfie" you will see that it uses 8mpx... ?

That't not the case for me. It only uses 2.8MP

Now I've made some tests.. You'll see 2.8 mpx only in panorama mode... You have to select photo and click on the left button over shutter button!
I swear it's not that confusing to use a camera on a phone

You always had 8mpx on your camera.. ? ?
The sensor is 8mp arranged in a 4:3 aspect ratio. You cannot get 8mp for an aspect ratio wider than that. An 18.5:9 wide image from that sensor is done by chopping 2800 pixels of the top and bottom (5.2mp left).
Now, if you zoom your selfie cam in and go back into settings to select your aspect ratio, you will see that 5.2mp is all you get for the 4:3 aspect ratio (that's the most mp you now get).
I suspect people are seeing this happen when they have their cam zoom on. Turn off zoom and look again.

Google Camera Port.

Following Ports are for both Android Q & R (Custom ROMs and RUI 1.0 & 2.0). However due to some issues Auxiliary Lenses not supported in Android 11 (RUI 2.0).
B-S-G v8.1
Downloads.- APK & Config
Wichaya v3.1.1
Downloads.- APK & Config
Oppo Camera APK (RUI1.0)
Importing .xml
first goto gcam settings and save the current xml (every version has this option under different menus) which will create a folder in internal storage (either gcam or configs7). Place the downloaded xml in that folder. Open gcam. Double tap the black area around the shutter button and select the downloaded xml and then restore.

Doo you think gcam takes better pics than stock on this device, i can't find difference, but portrait shots are better with gcam.,
Update:- Processing takes longer, but pic quality is better On Ultracam.

Low light on gcam is better in both front and back. Gcam definitely has more details in low light shots. I guess we need a better port. Things will get better.
Hi
We can also use GCAM from here.

Thanks. Is there a config for this to use the additional wide/zoom lenses (as for urnyx)?

Hi
I'm using 4.1 and no preconfigured config.
Digging in the options you can chose all four rear cameras, just some icons are swapped.
Other nice things seem to work, like photosphere and night shots.
Don't just enable "motion" 'cause it crashes.

Hmm, any other configs needed? Front cam works OK for me, but all back cam photos fc the app, with the additional cams enabled or not.

Which one is the best Gcam with all lenses working? Thank you!
None is better than phone's own Camera app!

After more testing, I felt like updating my post. It's quite understandable that people look for Gcam app for their Realme 6 pro phones. There are two main reasons: 1) phone's own camera creates somewhat blurred slowmotion videos; 2) sound in recorded videos is of very poor, even terrible quality.
I tried many Gcam apps (ported for Realme 6 pro), but none would support 64 megapixel shots! Moreover, slow-motion in these apps is nothing but a fake: Gcam apps either don't allow to shoot slow motion, or produce low fps videos which look horrible. Native app has it's pros and cons, so main question is what exactly you want to do: photos?, videos? videos must be with sound? etc. If you desire to improve colors in your images, and you don't need 64mp shots (which is main feature of this camera), then go for https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/filesc/GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05-v2.1_Wichaya_V2.8.1_200920.apk posted above by one of us. All lenses work, screen flash for selfie etc. Configs: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/p/f/2020/09/Realme6Pro-by-tomtimkur.xml
In addition, you can improve sound in your recorded videos by using Open Camera app instead of factory Camera app.
Wichaya Cam is good but the only problem color is washed out in photos. They look faded, not crispy or vibrant. Sometimes lens freezes while shooting in night mode. Nikita Cam is excellent in night mode, ya superior to any other cam listed and you get more brighter photos in night mode. Overall color saturation in other mode is good too.

All lens work. Video in some settings (4K) buggy so use it only for photos or xtreme low light.
