A: Yes, with OTA. Update every bi-week.
Q: I use Telegram, where can I find help on that platform?
A: Official ArrowOS channel, the link is HERE
Q: What kernel you use?
A: ROM include los sources base kernel, but i use my custom kernel MiPa, you can install it after rom.
Q: What camera app you use?
A: I use Google Camera 6 mod by san1ty or B-S-G, you can download HERE

Thanks for porting it bro
The ROM is amazing!

Wow, thanks bro

nice bro give me an awp:好:

i will test it...

How is this rom compared to aosip?

Nice job and thx.

So far so good, but It looks like the Auto Brightness doesn't work well.

Love this rom. Slim, fast, stable and excellent battery life!
Everything works as it should. Auto brightness could be a little more refined and proximity sensor would be nice too. If only we could get updated sources...
Only downside is I have to choose between this and AOSiP.
And OTA updates would be a killer feature for the future.
Great ROMs are coming for this great device.

Hey, awesome rom. Thank you!
Everything seems to be working perfectly, even got google pay up and running!
The only problem is that the Camera app keeps crashing when i try to open it. Anyone knows a fix for this?

I had that too the first time I installed the rom. Right after opening the app crashed. There were lots of process.media.android errors.
Did a clean install and after the installation I factory resetted. No problems since. Everything is fine. I'm using the latest BSG mod camera for the MI8.
Maybe this helps. I don't even know if the steps I took make any sense or if this affects the problem but it solved it for me.

@palaych: I have compared battery life between this rom and your AOSiP rom and there's a significant difference between the two.
I don't know if the stats are true but could you have a look into it?
First screenshot is Arrow OS, the second one is from AOSiP
I used the kernel that came with the rom, no customisations. All Google apps from the opengapps Pico package, no Magisk or other root.
Best regards
Kleinholzinferno

What are the differences in general ( features ) between the two ROMs ( ArrowsOS and AOSiP )?
Best regards.

Did a clean installation and look what happened:

I think they're pretty much the same regarding the possibility of customisation. Unlike some other ROMs that are adjustable to the last animation these two ROMs focus on (what I believe) are the most important features.
They're customizable but not bloated with settings. Which I think is nice.
All the features I use are there and working well.
Bluetooth hands free is finally working with Android pie
As my main camera I use the BSG Mod camera. Just Google it. Night mode works, portrait works too.
All other apps I use are Google standard and they're working flawlessly. Even Android Auto is useable.
So depending on your needs I'd say give them. both a try and decide. In my opinion you can't go wrong with any of them as they are both fast, stable, slim and have many nice setting to adapt the look and feel to your needs.
Hope this helps
Best regards
Kleinholzinferno

Thanks for your explanation.
I´m using AOSiP since last weekend and it´s like you described it. :good:
So, I´m curious on ArrowOS and I will give it a try.
The only thing I don´t understand is that @palaych is spending a lot of
time on developing two ( really good, but ) similar-looking ROMs.
Best regards.

Danke, dir auch!
As I said there are some differences but they are not as huge as between some other roms. The settings are a little different, the icons for some quick settings look different but all in all it's pretty equal.
What matter to me most is reliability and stability and both roms deliver!
I like the slim roms better. I had resurrection remix installed which is also a great rom btw but as I didn't use 75% of the settings it's pretty useless for me. Others may play around with animation styles and stuff but I don't so this is my favourite by now.

Hi everyone, i am currently building a weekly version (or monthly, depending on CyanogenMod fixes and patches) of CyanogenMod 12.1 for a while now, i thought i could share it with you, because peregrine cm-12.1 branch is no longer supported by CyanogenMod.
I made some little modifications to the framework, the device tree and the kernel, which you cand find in the source section.
For those who don't read at those stuffs, the changes are:
- Restored Ambient Display (and tuned a bit) and MotoDoze (wake gestures etc.), since the black screens have been fixed a while ago, this feature is now working correctly here on CM12.1
- Status bar date customizations
- Ability to hide SU icon on status bar (developer settings)
- KCAL support (adjust color contrast and saturation with this app: http://downloads.codefi.re/savoca/kcal)
- Proximity check on wake (disabled by default, you can enable it in Settings/Display), prevents accidental wake ups
- Dexpreopted
- Cyanogenmod's Screencast app from cm-13.0 branch
- Kernel security fixes from cm-13.0 branch
- PowerHAL updates from cm-13.0 branch
- General device tree updates from cm-13.0 branch
- LuK1337 gently found a fix for the GPS bug that forced you to erase modemst1 and modemst2 to make GPS work, so you won't need to do that anymore
- Updated all the libraries and apk/jar's from latest 5.1 build
- Updated Adreno libraries to 5.1 (Motorola is still using 5.0 ones on their 5.1 build)
- CyanogenMod fixed the soft reboots due to strictmode violations (https://github.com/CyanogenMod/andr...mmit/1e60f9b9ae10d46d028c19c90cf0f52d40ca620a), so this fix is of course included here, but is not included in the latest public snapshot for falcon on the CyanogenMod site, so this can be a reason of switching from that snapshot to this build.
- CM12.1 branch is pretty stable right now, so you shouldn't have any major problem

NOTE:
- Reported bugs without any useful logcat will just be trashed
- If you flash any CM12.1 custom kernel, you must flash this package: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B-xonQbKq2U2NEtIbXZaaEdCemM&usp=sharing
in order to downgrade your camera blobs from 5.1 to 5.0, if you don't this, the camera won't work ***
-- If, for any reason, you decide to go back to the kernel included in this ROM, you have to install again 5.1 camera blobs, the easiest way to do that is flashing the ROM .zip.
*** I updated camera blobs from the latest Motorola factory image, a kernel update was needed in order to make camera work after updating the blobs (that's not an hack, is a regular update from Motorola), but CyanogenMod dropped CM12.1 nightlies before doing this, so any CM12.1 based kernel doesn't contain that kernel update, that's why you need to downgrade camera blobs to 5.0.
I have to remind you that installing a custom kernel will break any future support by me
Hi fonz93. I am considering installing this version of CM12.1. I am curious about the Kernel. Have you implemented any changes other than the camera blobs stuff? I like to have Adreno Idler as it extends battery life a good deal for me.

No, i've just added few kernel security fixes and other minor fixes from cm-13.0 branch, the only external thing i've added is the KCAL support, i don't think i will add something more unless strictly required, sorry

That's cool. I'm on stock at the moment and it runs really stable. Not sure about honing to cm12.1 or cm13.
Thank you @fonz93!! I already loved CM10.2 you did for Huawei Y300, I really like your effort to make stable build for earlier versions when other devs change their focus to the last Android version
I'm currently on CM12.1 from beeto, can I have a brief excursus about difference with your build?
This build is made for stability, so it won't include the thousand of features that the other ROMs have, expecially in the kernel, i don't know which features the build are you referring to has, but you can find all the differences from the official cyanogenmod build in first post

Here's the rom I'm using http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/4g-development/rom-unofficial-cyanogenmod-11-t3017616
Well, the build is 3 months old, it doesn't include many important fixes (one of them is the strict mode violation fix that causes soft reboots) and many kernel security fixes.
It has a custom kernel while i use a cyanogenmod based kernel plus some fixes backported from the cm-13.0 branch. For the ROM side differences read the first post
This ROM looks very well, but I miss some features.
1.- DT2S on LockScreen
2.- DT2S on NavBar
3.- Network Activity on StatusBar
4.- TaskManager on StatusBar
Everything else is OK. Thanks for your work, Go on!
I am now including in my folder (the one where you can download my CM12.1) a build of TWRP 3.0 wich slightly differs from the one in this forum, thanks to Gabriele M (which will probably be the official TWRP mantainer), the long time wait for wiping /cache and /system and the not responsive touch is fixed, i am not opening a new thread because once Dees_troy (TWRP developer) merges Gabriele M changes into the official peregrine device tree for TWRP, i will stop mantaining my version as it would have no difference from the official build.
Note: The kernel source used to build the TWRP recovery is this: https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_kernel_motorola_msm8226/tree/cm-13.0, so it will work on every ROM, both Lollipop and Marshmallow.
sorry double post
I tried the rom, it's very fast and smooth.
I miss two things in particular:
1) switch network (2g/3g/4g) in quick settings (I really can't understand why CyanogenMod 12.1 doesn't have it, I've had this feature since CM7.2).
2) remove shutter sound when taking a picture.
I would love to have those features, but I would like to avoid installing Xposed modules.
Does anyone know why CM devs removed them in CM12/12.1?

It's not like they removed them, but the android source has changed so much that they couldn't just port the feature over the new version, no one came up with a working and bugfree patch on gerrit.
About the camera shutter, i don't know, it's not something i care that much, you can just get rid of it by installing a camera from play store

Do you install this ROM? Antutu score please, and camera ui screenshot.
Other question, u can put the dark/black theme in system config?
hi
i've just setup your rom on my mi mix 2s.
how many time i've to wait for the first boot ?
thanks

I dont gonna send any antutu score because is stupid, the rom is fas as hell with mipa kernel. You can use bsg camera for mi8, and no, i can only use black theme, its a bug
Is root possible on this one`?
Just installed it to see the boot animation some of you guys mentioned. What I have found is a rom that has almost no competitors for this device at the moment.
Some little things I noticed are:
Language isn't set throughout the whole system. Some settings are displayed in English, although the rest is German.
The dark theme is really nice but like language, it's not present in the whole system. Status bar and app drawer is dark, Google app is light no matter which setting I choose. Maybe there's something hidden in the owl's nest to change that.
Advanced settings is empty.
Besides that it's really great. Super fast, Installation worked like a charm and no errors whatsoever at the moment.
I installed the rom, pico gapps and the MiPa kernel version 3.3.1
Great work @palaych. Hope you'll maintain this, I think this really has a bright future ahead.

First boot took a few minutes (about 5 if I had to guess). I guess this is because I flashed the rom, a kernel, gapps all in one without booting up the system.
Don't panic, enjoy the owl, sit back and relax and after that enjoy a brand new device!
What about photos taken with Instagram camera for insta story. Is it noisy like some other roms?

Pixel Experience is an AOSP based ROM, with Google apps included and all Pixel goodies (launcher, wallpapers, icons, fonts, bootanimation)
Our mission is to offer the maximum possible stability and security, along with essential features for the proper functioning of the device
Based on Android 9.0
Code:
* Your warranty is now void.
* Should anything happen to your device, I will be there to help you,
* but I won't be responsible for any damage on your device.
This ROM uses the LineageOS device sources completely. The only thing that I do here is sync (download) all sources and make a new PE build with them. The credit goes to the developers of this device, PE team and LineageOS team. I also sometimes make small changes to it.
This is the Plus version of Pixel Experience
Bugs:
Can't take picture with camera and flash on (it's either out of sync or just loses connection to the camera) This is with stock camera only!
No "Advanced display" menu in settings
Installation:
Make sure you have Oreo bootloader and modem
Make a clean flash in TWRP
And that's it.
Note: GApps are already included in the ROM (micro variant). If you want an other variant, then flash that.

That's related to Samsung's protection of some sort, it should go away after some time after a restart
Best 9.0 (or any rom) hands down
I have been trying multiple custom Roms from Nougat, to Oreo, and Pie over the last few days from multiple developers and there are bugs with all of them, some of them make the device unusable. I stumbled across this rom a few hours ago and decided to give it a go and WOW. It literally converts the A520 into a perfect pixel. I'm not finding any bugs so far. This is amazing work. Anyone looking for a rom for your A520, look no further than this!
@sheepkill15
Thanks for this. Will flash tomorrow and feedback over next few days.
Happy New Year
Very smooth this room... Improve performance for pubg mobile between others rom

Thanks man, these reports are really useful. I didn't know the battery saver one. Gps worked for me, so I'd be happy if you could provide a logcat or something to fully describe the situation
If you enable hwc, you'll experience random freezes, that's why I disabled it.
Until I fix the battery saver, you can use the powersaving governor, when I used it, it worked correctly

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Hello everyone!
Before this thread gets plagued with questions like what's different in this LineageOS build, let me clear everything up for you!
Current Development Scenario for Lavender
More buildbots than developers
Device sources do not have a proper commit history, and is little bloated
There are major battery issues with current sources
Elliptic Proximity Sensor doesn't work as it should
Unable to use full potential of sdm660, as it has full CAF support, yet currently we use everything from MIUI
People are taking the only few developers for granted, I have seen the community doesn't want to contribute at all by testing builds, and this is due to the increasing number of buildbots here
People working on private sources, these guys use stuff from all Open Source Developers yet keep their work private, I am strongly against such people, I started my work a month ago, and everything was public on GitHub
What happened here?
I started working on a CAF rebase a month ago, and now finally I have fixed all bugs that occured, CAF rebase is basically cloning trees that CAF releases for sdm660 devices, and doing bringup for lavender, so these trees are built from scratch
Proper Commit history with proper authorship to all my fellow developers
Elliptic Proximity Sensor has thorougly been fixed, you won't face any issues, no need to reboot or anything
Battery issues might have been dealt with, don't expect extreme difference
Sources are public, my fellow lavender developers can freely fork a copy of my trees and carry on development, I do not want any kind of fame or attention by keeping stuff private.
Users can feel the snappy performance as I didn't add a lot of stuff from MIUI, just selective, most of it is still from CAF.
So here you go, feel free to make your own changes, all I want is lavender to stand back up because right now, its really going down due to some retards here in the community. Users need to contribute more, not financially but help developers with testing and some support rather than supporting people who encourage use of private sources.

Yes sure! You'll have to make changes to make it compatible for your CAF ROS sources, as these trees have just been used to build LOS which is AOSP.
So feel free to use them according to your needs!
Thank you so much for your hard and amazing work.
We're lucky to have such a developer like you for Lavender.

* I am not responsible for what may happen to your device, it is simply a solution that worked for me *
I found a solution for this problem the problem was in the NikGApps the shortest solution is:
1
Flash the rom first then reboot
2
Boot up, set the device normally and turn it off
3
Start recovey and flash NikGApps ( preferably the latest Canary version:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/nikgapps/files/Canary-Releases/NikGapps-R/03-Feb-2021/ )
4
Reboot.

I recommend you to make a clean install, but you can try dirty. As for stability: almost everything is stable, but I would not recommend it if stability is critical.

So, everyone writes that even if the ROM has easily discoverable bugs, BUT, how stable is this ROM? I'm trying to find a good one for a daily driver that won't let me down in an emergency but so far it seems that all the ones I've seen are either a beta or have obvious bugs even though they're called "official" The only one I would potentially end up on is MIUI.
Can it be used as daily Driver?
Netflix and other apps thar block rooted phones are working fine?
Hi, I was using LOS 17.1 for MicroG without any issues but recently upgraded to LOS18.1 for MicroG (downloaded from lineage.microg.org and verified the download). Everything works well except for the camera. Out of the box camera app freezes frequently and then I tried Open Camera and a another camera app. Open Camera is a bit stable but still freezes regularly. Problem is worse when the camera app is being called by other apps.
I note that this has been reported in LOS forum but wondering whether there is a quick work around for this problem.
Many thanks.

Hi, actually this is the wrong thread to post it.
But your solution is to replace new cam blobs with oldcam blobs and flash a kernel that is made for oldcam blobs.
I am attaching the oldcam blobs file for los that can be flashed through recovery. But note that you must change the kernel afterwards that supports oldcam. Otherwise camera will not work at all.

Thanks very much for the response. From what you are saying, I feel it may be easier to just downgrade to LOS17.1 which I was using before? I guess the other option I have is to wait for the next update to see whether the issue will be fixed in that release.
Thanks for your suggestion and clarification.

i am also using los Q because i find it the most stable one. I m using loscam patch in Q as well for better video quality although.
And the camera issue wont get fixed until and unless someone takes over the development of los. currently it has no maintainer and tge builds we get are automated with los source side changes, not device side changes.

@Walden0, I thought I might give your suggestion a try before downgrading to 17.1 version. Can you please clarify the following?
1. To add the old camera blob, I could install this zip via Yellowfox Recovery?
2. How can I find out which kernel will support this oldcam blob?
Many thanks.
I have never heard of yellowfox recovery but if its based on twrp then most likely it should be able to flash the zip. (maybe you mean orangefox, if yes then you can flash)
The kernel should have "oldcam" or "old" in its name.

Just being color blind!!...of course, it is Orange Fox Recovery!!
Interestingly, after I did my post, I just opened Settings->Apps->Camera and pressed 'force stop'. Then I started Open Camera which is what I normally use and so far it appears to be behaving OK. I tried a few still shots and one or two short videos - no freezing as yet but it is too early to know. I will keep testing over the next couple of days and see how it goes.
Thanks for your prompt response.
Just to report that the work around by disabling the Camera app so far have fixed the problem.
Any one who has the same problem may want to try out the following steps;
1. Go to Settings->Apps->Camera->Force Stop
2. Then use an installed app such as Open Camera
Note this is not a permanent solution but a work around and this has to be done each time the phone is rebooted.
EDIT: updated to 6 Dec 21 version and the camera behaves even worse than with the initial install! The above fix does not work anymore although it worked most of the time with the November update.
This ROM was abandoned, pitty, much more polished than official https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...8-1-for-redmi-note-7-lavender.4381893/page-10.
But both suffer from the same issue: no Mass Storage Gadget so that UMS can work to make memory as USB drive.
