Music Equilizer for Asus zenfone max pro m1 [ultra noob guide] - Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Guides, News, & Discussio

Guys, This phone does not have an equilizer for some absurd reason. But by installing this musicfx apk, snapdragon audio+ will reappear. I know this is extremely basic stuff but alot of ppl seem to be having a problem figuring this out and hence i made this thread.
Steps:
1. Install musicfx as normal Apk View attachment MusicFX.apk
2. plug in headphones
3. goto music player
4. goto equiliser option
5. you will see 2 options (A) snapdragon audio+{or known as Equiliser} and (B) musicfx
6. select any one and press ALWAYS.
done!!!
Remember to plug in headphones first. There seems to be a bug that causes the equiliser to malfunction if headphone is not connected for first time when music equiliser is used.

what if using another music player such as Poweramp. Does it work?

does it work with Bluetooth Headphone?

This is not a system-wide equalizer. Any chance of this becoming system equalizer? Till now it is just working on the app where it has been enabled, so no support of this equalizer on YouTube as well.

App for louder sound

Hello. I have a small question. What is the best app for obtaining a louder/ cleaner sound for my speaker? Now I am using DSP MANAGER, but sometimes it "force close" itself. I don't want to try some apps or to flash some apps untill some of you can give me a opinion.
Thanks for answering.

What about AUDIO FX?
never tried audio fx; but dsp never made it as loud as volume+
in addition, you can choose between "simple boost" and detailed equilizer presets.....
:good:
DSP Manager, EQualizer, Audio FX+, alot more to choose. For me the best is without any app that equalize your sound (you will lose some bass effects from any sound tweak, and clarity effects )
I know that, but my speaker sounds really quiet. When I walk on street I can''t hear it, so I need some app to make it sound louder. I will tri EQaluzer
Try this code
*#*#197328640#*#*
select audio
select MAX8899 AMP
select stereo headset
select PRE AMP GAIN: 0db=stock its too big and this
9db=its louder and the bass is acceptable
20db= its very louder but the bass its too big and this worsen the quality so when you choose this intall the EQ and downgrade the bass
when you selected db select the PGAIN apply next amp on
press the back button insert the headset and enjoy the louder audio
THANKS for meee!!!!
Its workin on my mini with XWKTN try on another build

Can you tell me another apps, or maiby a method to obtain louder sound?
DSP Manager force close when I receive a call.
Equalizer don't work so well ( the sound is not louder ) and Volume + the same.
What other method exists in order to obtain a louder and clear sound ? I have rooted phone, so I can flash any zip pack that will work. I just need some apps or sone name of some audio engine that works on this phone.
EDIT:
If I use Beats Manager it will help me? If yes, can someone give a a trustefull link so that I can flash it?

Google Play Music - No Audio after Track change

So Google Play Music is one of my favorite android apps, i use it daily and i never really had many issues with it until i got note 3.
Like usual i just plug in my headphones and start listing to music. the problem is that sometimes after 1 song sometimes after 2, the next song is playing but there is no audio. I try to switch tracks and same thing.
Couldn't figure out what it was, i removed the headphones and plugged them back in and the audio started playing again. Tried skipping to the next song, and no audio again.
Does anyone have the same issue or knows how to fix it? I've updated the app to the latest version but i still have that issue. I tried removing the updates and same thing. Can't remove the app completely since the note is not rooted and i am not planning on rooting it just yet since the security in Knox gets triggered and voids the warranty.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!
Figured it out, it was the built in EQ. Once disabled , everything worked. Now i have to find an aftermarket eq that supports google music

I now presume you simply disabled the eq in the Google Play Music app. Here is a complete solution to fix the EQ bug.
So i did some searching on google specifically for the equalizer, and this issue is a problem across many galaxy devices. I do not have the link but basically the stock equalizer needs to be disabled.
0. Get the replacement equalizer for Google Music called "equalizer" (only equalizer)
Disable Stock Equalizer:
1. Go to settings
2. Go to device
3. go to sounds
4. go to music effects
5. Select "Equalizer" instead of "Music FX"
I have been using viper4android on my Note 3. I had been using volume+ before I got my N3.
Viper is VERY good and has a tonne of settings.
The only bad thing is that it has little hiccups where the music fades out for a moment and then comes back. I don't like the hiccups, but still worth using to me.
Oops, meant to say I mostly use Google Play Music. It also works with Pandora and most everything else I have tried with viper.
I had this problem (stock, no root) and the equalizer was not turned on. The ATT OTA seems to have fixed my audio issues.

LG G2 like music player

Hello all,
Before the OPO I have the Lg G2, and one of the things I like on this phone is the realy cool and usefull Music player ...
I tested many many music players on the Play Store but never find one like on LG G2
I tryed to install the G2 music APK on the OPO, he don"t want.
Can somebody port it ? or find one other similar app please ?
PS : I already have Power AMP, but the reason I hate it now, is the decode driver ... Power amp never support Viper4Audio or Faux Sound, or any sound moficitaion app/drivers ....
Thanjks a lot
You cant just put the music APk in another phone. its tied to the LG framework and it also has other apps associated to it in the system. Try poweramp or neuron.

I've been using PowerAMP + Viper on all of my previous phones and still use it with this phone. It works perfectly fine. You just need to configure it properly.
PowerAMP -> Settings -> Audio -> Advanced Tweaks -> Enable MusicFX. Disable Direct Volume Control
PowerAMP -> Tone/Vol -> Enable MusicFX Toggle.
Ensure that there are no conflicts with other mods such as DSP Manager/AudioFX. Freeze the apps.
As far as functionality is concerned poweramp is hands down the best music app for me, as for looks not so much. I like the HTC and LG music apps a lot, if someone can port those to OPO that would be wonderful.

[FIX][Audio Resampling][Stock Oreo] Fix 384Khz For Music Player That Use Direct PCM F

Hi all
I'm using PowerAMP Beta 709 for listening music, LG Music player is decent for me, PowerAMP can resampling up to 384Khz, but on LG V30 it's not working when i choose resampling to 384Khz, its just back to 44.1Khz.
Only 44.1~352.8Khz is working, i tought it's bug in PowerAMP but NOT, LG forgot some line or intentionally not adding 384khz in 24bit Direct PCM. So i fix that.
Every Music player that use flag Direct PCM can use 24bit 384Khz now without going back to 16bit 44.1Khz ofcourse if there music app that support 32bit 192/384Khz will also work if using flag direct pcm 32bit
Requirements :
1. Unlocked Bootloader
2. TWRP installed
3. Root
How to install?
1. Just flash with TWRP or
2. Extract and put to system/vendor/etc and change permissions to 0644
Hi thanks for the mod
Got one question about how sound works on a v30.
I usually listen to songs like 24/96 or higher or sometimes the mqa from tidal, the question is will the viper4android downsample my songs? As I saw on all devices I had it installed that drive status reports 44kHz sampling rate even when I was playing hi-res music.

I'm never try V4A but yeah your song is downsampling, maybe V4A doesn't support or use direct pcm or even snapdragon 24bit offload so its still use Open SL ES 16bit 44.1khz for output.
Maybe someone has better answer than me, cause i never try V4A.
Hi, will give this a try but how to undo if something is not right ?
Tried a loudness mod recently and had hissing in quiet parts so had to revert

Just open the zip file and see for yourself which and how the files are modified. It's just a quick edit of both instances of audio_policy_configuration.xml. It could be edited by hand, same as with the high impedance mod.
Kudos to the OP for the useful tip !
I'd like to test if LG has fixed this issue on stock Oreo with the July update. I have a library full of FLAC music files; so the next step would be to install PowerAMP and select 384kHz? I'll edit this post with results.
EDIT: US99820D (July stock ROM) has the bug. Flashing the fix resolves the issue as revealed by PowerAMP beta. I did notice though that having the "Enhanced" DAC preset enabled introduces intermittent static noises in certain songs. It doesn't bother me, since I keep it at "normal" and set the digital filter to "short." Very nice sounds with Sennheiser HD558.
Thank you @Rizal Lovins for the fix !
Since this thread is one year old, with the last oreo fw 20h us998 is the audio resampling still happening on LG's stock music app or been fixed? I don't know how to see/measure the audio output

Hmm, why am I not surprised. USB audio is still the way to go.
What about pie? Anybody know if LG actually did it right this time?

No, too
I sadly cannot get this fix to work things still only play 352.8, when I try to get it to sample fully to 384 it jumps down to 192. This fix just seems to do nothing sadly. Trying with USB Audio Player Pro

Disable additional bass/low-end boost?

Has anyone found a way to disable/remove the additional bass to all audio (on Stock ROM). Sometimes it's great but for music it's sometimes downright terrible.
Try tinkering with the AudioWizard settings.
If no luck, try your music player's EQ settings or Viper4android.

I've used viper before and I love it but for personal reasons I don't want to leave the stock ROM or do any flashing. The audiowizard has very lackluster options which don't provide a very useful description which make it hard to figure out what the bass and treble slider actually do, as they don't seem to impact the extra bass at all.
You don't need to leave stock ROM for using V4A.
The latest V4A .apk is available to install from XDA labs.
Another option, is to try the VLC media player's native equaliser (works just for music/ video files during VLC play).

I would but I can't do that without root and I'm sort of not keen on that as I've heard magisk is more unstable and not a garenteed passt for safety net (I use Google pay alot)
In that case, try any one of the top-rated volume/ bass adjusting apps via Play store - see if it does the job for you.
VLC media player has it's own equaliser.
You can freeze/ disable AudioWizard via stock settings, or try SD-maid or Titanium.

Thank you for this info. I was genuinely not aware of this.
I've had a couple of nightmare situations where the ROG3 would shut-down (power-off) by itself every time I powered it on - I thought this was because of a rogue app/ magisk module or perhaps a virus; I ended up doing a factory reset eventually to recover my phone.
