Bluetooth audio quality is bad - Honor Play Questions & Answers

Hello, I just got my honor play and I tested it with my bluetooth headphones. Quality is terrible. My old RN4 had much better quality on same SBC codec.
Any helpful informations?

[Q] Sound quality

So after reading some reviews it seems that the sound quality wasn't good. I wonder though how the sound quality is through earbuds. I listen to music a lot and this is one of the mayor points I want in a mobile phone. I am still thinking about the 2x and the S2. Would love to hear what you guys think.

IMO the sound quality through earbuds is good. The bass is deep and treble is just OK. The stock music player has inbuild equalizer.
The sound quality is much better if I compare it with my other smartphones (HTC Legend, Samsung Omnia, SE Xperia 2)
I don‘t get it either, I come from a Desire and the speaker of the O2X is such an improvement! It is excellent! Also with headphones the sound is good and loud, the included ones aren‘t however. Also with bluetooth headphones the quality is fine. The EQ possibilities also are effective. Nothing to worry about IMHO

Audio Quality

Is the LG O4X audio quality & volume through headphones really that bad? I've read GSMarena's review as they've now posted the audio part of the review. They said it possibly one of the worst devices they've tested
This will be a deal breaker for me. :-( what do you guys think?
Any previous GSII ownes in here that can provide input on personal opinions between the quality of the two?

Audio quality seems fine to me. GSMArena suspected they had a faulty unit, and said they would try another but I have yet to see an update to the review to reflect this.
I did see that but thought what is the chance of them receiving a faulty unit. Im currently using a Galaxy S II, and the audio quality via music player suits me. I reappy want the 4X as its a sexy beast, just wouldn't be able to cope with crap music quality.

The sound quality is pretty good on the 4x. I upgraded after breaking my milestone and I was also iffy on buying the 4x because of the gsm review... when I tested it out, it sorta felt like my entire phone became a speaker but it instantly became muffled when I covered the grill. Black magic is at work here lol
Im on about through the headphones lol

Oudio output is fine for me too, though not as good as the One X, a little louder would not be a bad thing, but overall as good as other smartphones in the segment.
It is, once again, fine. Satisfactory. I don't like in-ear headsets so I just use the ones that came with my milestone 2 years ago >_> I did try the headphones that were in the box though, they unlock some eq presets along with an option to manually tweak the levels. But plugging in any headphones will unlock that.
...as good as the other six smartphones I use, honestly. I always check music quality through my $500 akg closed headphones with quite a range of high quality files and the 4x sounds really fine, absolutely no problem here.
Just bought 4X to replace my 3.5" iPhone 4S, everything is fine except the sound quality which I must say is terrible compared with iPhone especially when using the built in speaker Maybe it's because the speaker is at the back of the phone

What if you set the O4X on its front so that the speaker grill is facing upwards? Will it be not as terrible? Is it really that bad compared to iPhone 4S?

Only the sound is louder, quality won't improve no matter where you face the speaker. Apart from Moto's Raxx, iphone's sound quality is excelent (from my own experiece).
I downloaded Poweramp as recmmended by local forum here to my 4X and the sound quality improves a little bit.

ok the sound of the built-in speaker is poor, but with headphones, for me, the sound is great. I don't think it's very exciting listen music with the speacker ......
Use the right headphones (i got a HTC set) and download the POWERAMP app...
Gives what u need
hi guys, what about the call quality? is it loud n clear on speakers?
It's okay. I went through a few phone calls and I didn't experience any problems and have no complaints.
Although... has anyone else noticed that the voice for navigation is kinda quiet? I turned it up to max and drove a few suburbs over but I felt like it was a bit too gentle for a car environment.
Music over bluetooth, Motorola Motorokr s305 stereo headphone & headset works good. But dolby mobile setting stutters (to bad, cause I liked the sound). I now use the headphone amplifier setting. Also good, but not as loud as Dolby mobile.

Did anybody try the headphone out with high-end multidriver iems (Like Shure SE535, Phonak PF232 or Westone UM3x...)?
I'm an iPhone 4S user and the headphone out is almost perfect when listen thru my UM3x. Hence i was wondering if the 4X would be close in terms of noise floor, resolution and frequency response.
Thanks in advance

If the TF10 sounds good and you have your treble then output impedance of the LG must be quite low which is a great thing.
Could you fill me in about the noise floor (Noise that you can hear when you pause the music till the amp section shuts off).
Thanks a lot

Bluetooth earphones audio latency

Hi everybody!
I just bought Sony's WF-1000X bluetooth earphones to pair with my brand new Huawei P20 Pro and I'm noticing a serious audio latency when watching videos (either locally saved or YouTube etc.).
I tried pairing the same earphones with my friend's Galaxy S9+ and worked like a charm. Perfectly synced and the volume was some 10-15% louder than my P20 Plus
I have researched a large number of articles on the web but could not actually pinpoint the issue.
Has anybody here witnessed the same issue with their P20 Pro?? Any ideas?
Thank you in advance guys!
I have with the exact same buds, have now moved to an s9.
P20 pro definitely had latency but not on the s9
Might have something to do with the fact that aac is broken on the p20 and works on other android 8 phones.
It may be the codec being used. I have used a multitude of bluetooth headphones with no issue.
Have you made sure to install the sony app for the headphones? Try some other codecs under developer options, they all sound the same but some do cause issues such as LDAC
Switching to such an inferior phone as the S9+ for battery life and iffy camera is not a solution. You just need to know phones and adjust the settings.

His headphones should be using aptx or LDAC. AAC is a rubbish codec and should not be used, unless you love Apple.

WF-1000X do NOT support LDAC, they're the truly wireless pair, SBC and AAC only.
AAC is far from inferior and blows SBC out of the water.
Especially if you're only listening to mp3s from spotify or google music.
There is no truly wireless pair that supports Aptx or LDAC yet.
Even the bose that come with the huawei don't support either of those codecs, SBC or AAC.
To be fair the this phone, I have not tried any LDAC or Aptx headphones with it, all i know is that with these wf-1000x and the bose qc35s, this phone could not cope at all and the other 2 worked without issues.
And calling the s9 inferior is just plain stupid, having tried both side by side they both have their pros and cons. It's to each person's individual tastes and needs.
They both do things better than the other and after trying both cameras, s9 all the way because all my photos are in the moment, no time to sit there trying to get the settings right
Bose Soundsport Free
Hi mate
I have the bose soundsport free. I have exactly the same issue with the latency spoke to bose they said it can be fixed with a software issue because if I just listen with the right hand earbud no latency

Bluetooth codecs for high quality audio

Am I right in thinking that Nokia 9 has far less codecs than some of the cheaper Nokia devices? I am looking at buying a good Bluetooth headphones set, but it looks like Nokia 9 doesn’t support aac?
Can anyone offer advice what codecs would be a good match?
Using Sony WI-C300 with HD Audio support, but actually don't know which codec is used.

Poor sound quality output ?

Hi there..
I've just bought my X2 Pro and I'm so satisfied with it.
But the main point is the sound quality output is so poor and lakes the details,
I'm coming from Xiaomi Note 5 AI and the sound with my earphones Xiaomi Pro HD Hybrid was so awesome and high detailed (really HD Audio) and the clarity was so fine with it,
But when I plug the earphones with the X2 Pro I notice the big difference, it became so poor and distortion is visible like I bought cheap earphones or somethining
I tried hard with the Dolby Atmos settings but with no good
Please help me guys, I'm so disappointed!
Any help?
The output from the headphones is very low even if kept on full volume . I was using oppo f9 pro without any Dolby Atmos in it but still the output quality and sound was just up to the next level and m using same Sony in ear sports edition expensive headphones with X2 pro however very very disappointed . I think we should report this to realme and ask them to fix it in their next software update coz it's a Flagship device from realme and they have priced it close to OnePlus 7 series. I still regret not buying OnePlus 7 just to save some bucks.
Bought this street using the k20 pro. The audio at high volume has a lot of distortion and disturbance. Is it a software glitch? If so, can someone tell me how to solve this?
Amplifier sucks here, that's all. It's the same story with all these mid-range phones and budget flagships. They may have kept the headphone jack, but it's essentially useless for anybody who cares even a little bit about sound quality.
Get a $30 dongle and move on.
Contrarry to what you guys report. I am using Poweramp, with equalizer tweaked to my likings, output from the 3.5mm jack is phenomenal. I am using signature acoustics c12 with high res wav and flac file formats..cant comment about Atmos but yes the volume is just about adequate, not low but certainly not loud..
