Unofficial way to make 4G+ on Jio work on OP3/T? - OnePlus 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

I feel this is more of a discussion than a q&a. So, as many fellow Indians will be aware that Reliane Jio has carrier aggregation supported in India. The OP5,5T,6,6T supports it and get 4G+ signal.
The OP3/3T on the other hand, never supported it. There is simply no 4G+ signal on the same spot where OP6 gets full 4G+ bars. I am confident the S820/821 support 2CA, so is it limited by OnePlus and they don't want to introduce software support to support CA on this device? Is there any unofficial guide available to make 4G+ work on Jio network.

My op3 is getting 4G+ on selected locations in Liverpool UK with Vodafone. I know has nothing to do with jio but just as nfo that our phone can get 4G+.

The problem is in india for op3. CA is not supported for any of the bands used here.

Yup, device modem supports it on hardware level. Op has not added support for 4G+ on Indian carriers

Carrier Aggregation for AT&T

Anybody know how to make the T-Mobile N910T take advantage of AT&T's carrier aggregation? You know, like ban 4 + 17 or band 2 + 17 working as one?
Interested in this myself.
Sent from my SHIELD Tablet using XDA Free mobile app
So I did a little digging. These are the LTE bands and CA configurations the T-Mobile Note 4 can do. As you can see, it's mainly configured for T-Mobile's LTE network since AT&T's Band 17 (their main band) is not present in the CA list.

Carrier aggregation on Band 40 and Band 7 is disabled

So in my testing side by side, Appears there is currently no band 7 or Band 40 aggregation at all.
Any time i land on B7 or B40 Primary band, i loose 4G+ / LTE-A
on my older device, i get 3-28-40/7 3CA (which is the limit for that device) so i know the network is configured for it.
Provider hasn't said too much on it yet, Speaking to Huawei directly i've been told Band 7 and Band 40 are new so there is an incompatibility with Android 9.
Anyone else had issues with this or other bands missing CA?
No problem with carrier aggregation on LTE Band 7 on Telekom Germany.

VoLTE on any Network?

Hello all,
I recently bought a couple of eBay Seller Refurbished Galaxy S20 FEs to use in my switch to Consumer Cellular (MVNO that runs on AT&T towers). I believe they are from T-Mobile originally. However, with the recent decommissioning of AT&T's 3G network I have begun to have trouble making calls. They just end immediately.
Consumer Cellular advises to enable VoLTE or else calls will stop working, but as far as I can see VoLTE is enabled by default with no settings to be set.
I guess I just want to know if this is something caused by my phones or if it's more likely to be something on their end.
For more information, this is my SIM Card status screen

Upgrade the SIM to a 4G SIM and try.

5G not available on P30 Pro?

Hello,
I've just upgraded my contract to a 5G contract. I live in a 5G covered area and I was under the impression the P30 Pro was 5G enabled.
Now, I've set up my new sim, sent my PAC code through for number transfer, checked my SIM is installed, had texts from my new provider (Voxi) and only get 4g. Upon investigating the issue I'm told to choose 5g in my settings but I don't have the option
Now, i dont think I set up my new sim as a dual sim (i just replaced the old nanosim) but the only issue i can see is that my sim may be set up as secondary which doesn't allow 5g. But I can't see it listed as such and don't know if the P30 pro does secondary sim anyway. Can anyone fix this?

As far as i know P30 Pro is not 5G compatible but for me 4G is more then enough.
Ah I had read it was but seen specs that say not now. Thanks for your reply.
Yep, no 5G unfortunately...

Question No 5G after network reset on phone

As the title states I have been with Cricket for around 3 months with great 5G service 4 and 5 bars. I was trying to get Wi-Fi calling working and I wasn't aware at the time that Wi-Fi calling isn't available on Cricket BYOD phones yet. I reset the network settings on the phone and now only receive 4G LTE. I've had excellent 5G signal up until the reset. Called Cricket customer service about it but I believe I'd learnt more talking to the wall, very useless support, told me after about an hour that it would pick up 5G again and thats been about a week ago. The settings I have circled in red doesnt allow me to turn on or off, is this normal?? also this is the APN settings im using, they are the only ones I can find on the net so I'm assuming they are correct. Any ideas??? Thanks in advance for any help.
