OnePlus 6 / Oneplus 6T
Youtube review of Kernel and Avengers theme by @hypergamer1231
Concept
Flash and be happy out of the box!
The kernel provides 4 Spectrum profiles and 3 Franco Kernel Manager profiles (Pie only) for most usecases. Balanced (default) / Battery / Performance / Gaming. For choosing another profile as Balanced please install Spectrum from the Google PlayStore.
If you want to modify the profiles just run a kernelmanager like EX Kernelmanager and change what you want.
First completely unified kernel for the OnePlus 6/6T OOS and Custom ROMs
One unified zImage!!!
To preconfigure the kernel uses a config file made by well known Senior member @xXx
These are the tunables you could modify:
Defaults in [ ]
Profiles battery, balanced, [performance], gaming
SELinux [permissive] / enforced
CPU minimum frequency [300], 403, 480, 576
GPU minimum frequency 180, [257], 342
GPU Input boost off 257 [342]
GPU maximum frequency up to 842 MHz (comes with 710 stock frequenccy set!)
Flickerfree display mod by @Devries (ImageBreaker kernel OP6T), default is off
Governor setting [pixel_smurfutil] or smurfutil_flex
The SmurfKernel configuration file is placed in /sdcard/SmurfKernel: If you want to use the kernel with it's default configuration just flash it!!! For custom changes please edit the SmurfKernelConfigurationEditor by @tanish2k09. The settings are applied saving the config. Your actual configuration is written to smurf.kernel.bootlog.
It's recommended to use my kernel paired with

Thanks for the kernel. Nice to see new things get posted in the dev section.
Just flashed a few minutes ago and so far it's smooth and running nice. Will report back if needed.

Dude!!!
So good to see this kernel here!

Nice to see you here again.

For those downloaded the clang version. Please download it again. I accidentally packed custom version into the oos kernel folder. Sorry.

I'm assuming if we sideload with adb the installer still works as intended?

If you see the outputs, that profiles are installed, min frequency is set to 300, gpu to 180 it worked as expected.
In the tg group we have several 6T users. Since my latest installer fix there were no reports about that it is not flashing as expected.

I was asking because we don't have a working twrp to flash it and the instructions seem to be for op6 with twrp

Users on 6T sideloaded it, or flashed it with exkm.
And well, instructions will match reallife soon i think [emoji16]

Battery life is incredible with this kernel. Since flashing Its been 32 hours (actually I was already 8 hours deep into my usage before flashing this kernel) since my last full charge; with 2hours and 16minutes of SOT, and I'm at 61% battery left. It's predicting at my current rate of usage I'll get two more days lol. Granted, I'm on wifi with airplane mode enabled but for me that is still some crazy good battery life. I've tried the other kernels and didn't get anything close to this kind of life.

Hi
First thanks for your work. I have a question what is the difference between the plex and flex version?

Thank you for this amazing kernel!! Have heard of this, but never got to try it out. will now!
Few things i want to mention is that
1. adb sideloading doesnt seem to initate the installer, with ADB sideload, It was just flashing with 576mhz min and that's it.
2. flashing the kernel with a USB drive seems to initiate the installer and flashes with 300mhz min, 180 min on GPU and Balanced Profile as expected.
Also, ADB sideload doesn't flash the spectrum profiles but flashing with the USB drive does..
and that's pretty much what I have gotten, will be testing this kernel for some time!
Keep up the Amazing Work!

flex flashes smurfutil_flex governor + profiles, plex flash pixel_smurfutil + profiles. The difference is the governor base. Pixel one is pixel 3 based. I would recommend to flash it with plex option.

Save your battery and disable the second core of your android device when you dont need it!
!- This app is only for dual core devices made by Samsung -!
This app should work on most android dual core devices from Samsung (maybe also on others but these are untested!). Please report on which devices the app works and on which it doesnt. You have to be rooted! Every time you reboot you need to redisable second core! If the second core starts again at some time use another governor. Not working with hotplug!
Tested devices:
* Galaxy S2 I9100
* Galaxy S2 I9100G
* Galaxy S3
* Galaxy S1
* Galaxy R I9103
* Galaxy Nexus
The app is working with stock cm10 kernel, too!

Benchmarks mean 0 hahhah.... I like to see the actual feel and performance of the device with the kernel
got this on my 8013 and although it is fast and smooth, i lose wifi. it acts like it is connected, but no traffic will go in or out. if I restore to stock kernel, my internet traffic will be fine.
anything i can do to help find why this is happening? (I am on Hyperdrive ROM - also using the kernel installer on that ROM causes this issue)
everything was installed on a clean wipe
Which tool you recomend to oc kernel?

Frequently Asked Questions -
Q ) I like this kernel, can I be a part and contribute to this project ?
It takes many hours to maintain this kernel, If you are a user then donations are appreciated. If you want to contribute to development then you can create your pull requests on my github or pm me with your patch.
Click to collapse
Q ) I flashed this kernel, what next ? How and where do I configure kernel related settings ?
Recommended app is Radon kernel control, it offers very easy to use custom profile based tweaking, you may check post #3 for some tuning tips if you like to tune kernel settings yourself.
Click to collapse
Q ) Read mode in miui is not working after flashing this kernel ?
Xiaomi hasn't provided the opensource code for this feature, so read mode is not going to work on custom kernels, but you can try going into display tab of radon kernel control app and make a custom profile with R,G,B(254,234,195) and saturation 40 for very similar experience to miui read mode.
Click to collapse
Q ) My fingerprint doesn't work, what to do ?
Kenzo comes with two different sensors, fpc and goodix, all nougat roms have fixed support for both sensors, but if you use miui rom and you have goodix sensor then you might need to flash the patch from post #6196.
Click to collapse
Q ) I flashed this kernel, but I want to return to my stock kernel, how to do that ?
If you read flashing instructions in first post, you will see that I asked you to make backup of boot and system partitions before flashing my kernel, now you can restore that backup and you will have your stock kernel back. In case you didn't take a backup, just dirty flash your rom zip without wiping data and that will restore stock kernel and modules.
Click to collapse
Q ) How much battery backup does this kernel give ? Will it give me x hours of SOT ?
The battery backup depends a lot on your usage, like screen brightness, wifi, 3g/4g data. Changing your kernel or rom will not make battery backup double. If you are just wifi user, your device can give 9+ hrs screen on time. Heavy 3G, 4G, Bluetooth users shouldn't expect huge battery backup. Regarding battery consumption when display is off, I normally lose 2% battery for about 8-9 hours of standby, but if you you keep wifi and data off in night, then you should get 0-1% drain per night.

Kernel tuning tips -
Cpu -
Governor: Interactive for all kind of users, select battery/balanced/gaming mode while installing according to your need, balanced and gaming modes are totally smooth but battery mode might have little lags.
Users who wish to further push battery backup can try using relaxed cpu governor on small cluster, reducing max frequency of small cluster will also improve battery backup.
By default, I use these min cpu frequencies 691Mhz (small cluster) and 883Mhz(big cluster), there is also 400Mhz option but I don't recommend using that since it saves negligible battery.
Input boost and touch boost should be kept on by balanced/gaming users, battery biased users can consider turning them off.
Memory -
Adaptive lmk should be enabled by all users
Z-RAM 512MB with at least 40 swappiness
Z-RAM will increase battery consumption a little bit
Keep Z-RAM off if you need extra battery backup
IO Scheduler -
FIOPS for good performance and battery
Read ahead at least 512 KB on both internal and external
Screen -
Adjust this yourself, I don't know what you like.
Gpu -
Adreno idler - only battery biased users should keep this on.
Adreno boost - gamers or performance biased users should keep this on.
Misc -
Fsync -Enabled for more stability, disabled for more performance.
Vibration intensity - I use 60, select whatever you like here.
Note - All settings are compatible with Radon kernel control.
I am using RADON Kernel From very first Build and to be honest ,
RADON is Awesome In Performance , Super Smooth and Fully Stable Kernel.
It Rocks Redmi note 3 Development :highfive:

[KERNEL][13/08/16][CM][UT]KTO Kenzo Kernel[Stable]V1.3

By flashing this kernel, you accept your fate.
This is my personal project, because of the lack of any custom kernels that had the features I want. So let me introduce myself. First of all, I'm noob in kernel developing. I've been using many great kernels on my Desire HD and Nexus 4. I've been hoping for such a kernel for our devices for the last 3 months but as it seems, more time is spent on cooking roms instead of kernel development. So well, here we are. I've been working on that for the last two weeks so, this is probably stable, but the alpha tag will stay at least till more people confirm that it works on different roms.
Initial kernel features:
Compiled with stock toolchain (for now)
Disabled software CRC + option to turn it on
Disabled fsync + option to turn it on
Fixes for high cpu load times, which can cause some governors to not work as they should
Disabled zram - with 2/3 GB of ram in our devices, we don't really need that.
Added Kernel Samepage Merging - off by default
Added FIOPS and SIO i/o schedulers
Added ZZmove and ElementalX cpu governors
Added toggle for Touch boost - you can now turn that off.
Added full KCAL display settings support.
Other optimizations
Safe roms confirmed to be working with the kernel
Official AICP - tested by me
Official RR - tested by @nexuspur (Huge thanks to you mate!)
AOSP+RRO - tested by @sheshuvadrevu
Official AOKP - tested by @DarkHero140
CM by banmeifyouwant - tested by @CodeBreaker13
DU - tested by @Windslash31 and @DarkHero140
Not safe roms
Mokee - giving bootloops
Santosh's CM13 - giving bootloops.
Flashing Instructions
Flash only if you're using CM based roms that follows the official CM device/kernel/proprietary repos! That kernel IS NOT FOR MIUI or AOSP Rom
Make backup of boot in twrp
Flash the kernel zip and reboot
About feature requests
I'm sure that many of you will ask for feature A B C. Please don't mention wake gestures as dt2w and swipe2wake, because I will NOT add them. To rework all the gestures for that is a massive job. Even if it was an easy commit to cherry-pick, I still wont add it, because this is battery drainer. We have FP sensor so use it, or wake the device with the power/volume buttons.
Everything else as request is welcomed, but not guaranteed that it will get in the kernel. Remember this is my project and I'll be adding only features that I find useful.

Kernel Special Features:
Version Information
Status: Stable
Current Stable Version: 1.0
Stable Release Date: 2016-07-11
Created 2016-07-10
Last Updated 2016-07-11
Changelogs:
KTO Stable 1.0
Added adreno idler driver for lowering the GPU power usage
Added the following tcp congestion algorithms: veno, reno, bic, westwood, highspeed, hybla, htcp, vegas, scalable, lp, yeah, illinois (Cubic as default)
Some optimizations here and there
KTO Stable 1.1
Added Alucard and Darkness governors. They both perform well. I'm using Alucard which is tuned a bit.
Some vibration tunes
Changed the toolchain from google's default to @DespairFactor UberToolchain 4.9. Sadly I get bootloops after Miui logo with 5.X so can't even get a logcat. Will debug that in the future.
KTO Stable 1.2
Unlocked 1440MHz for a53 and 1804MHz for a72 cores freqs, just like on Xiaomi's original kernel. (Thanks for the tip @Umang96)
QC 2.0 is added - Haven't seen any change with the stock charger. Temperature is normal. Charging around 1600 mah.
Alucard - tuned one more time for the new freqs.
KTO Stable 1.3
Synched with latest CM sources, so we have new led driver and many bugfixes.
Added hardware CRC32 accelerator
Fixed -2/50% bug for people that had if before
Fixed the sudden 2% battery drop bug
Added power suspend driver
Remove the so called "qc 2.0" fast charging. To be fair, I haven't seen any improvement in charging time, but the batter was going hot. Charge your device overnight.
Some entropy tuning
Other patches for better memory speeds
