Hey guys

I bought this phone from my friend whose buy from his friend whom is myanmar citizen. Model no is Che2-L11 and Build no is Che2-L11 V100R001C541B130 even on battery it stated Che2-L11. The problem is when I check the warranty period @huawei Myanmar it's stated this phone model is G735-L11. And when I check at download page @huawei Myanmar this Che2-L11 V100R001C541B130 is for Huawei G Play phone.
My question is:
1) which one is true?. Is it honor 4x or Huawei G Play?.
2) I've got the bootloader unlock code from Huawei. Can I simply change the build no just like you teach above after rooting then force flash the Malaysian firmware(I'm from Malaysia) which I believe is V100R001C636B070(kit kat) or C636B360(lollipop). I personally just wanna stay at kitkat for maybe another 4-5 months. After that maybe I'll move to lollipop since I read there's little bug on lollipop. Did it will brick my phone?. I just wanna make sure because this phone is register @ Huawei Myanmar. It's not worthy to go to Myanmar just to get the warranty cover.
Hope someone will graciously answer my queation.
P/s- sorry for my broken English..

@xeno5469 i have the Huawei G play (G735-L03) and you can do that, and use another method too, but its only on spanish and you would need use a traductor or something like that (except if you know spanish)

Panchovix- to be more clear, I wanna know something. When you first buy that phone, what does your phone model no. I mean the model no which we can find in setting>about phone>model no. Because my model no in setting and at warranty page isn't same.
Hope tonight I'll have some time to unlock it..
@xeno5469 for me it said, Model G735-L03, Compilation i dont remember really, but it didnt say Che2 or anything

Panchovix, you are superb.. I manage to flash Che2-L11 c636b360 on my che2-l11 c541b130 using ur method.. Actually after rooting and changing ro.build.display.id to che2-l11 v100r001c636b062, I tried to flash c636b070 but i got version check fail. Then I tried c636b360 and it work altough the flashing take about 5 to 10 minutes. All feature work but i got about 1.6gb free internal memory only. Then I tried to root using kingoroot and it work. After that I supersu-me and now using supersu and purify, i wanna uninstall some of system applications.. As a whole this lollipop quite.. Am gonna try it a little more before testing the sweetnesss of marshmallow..
Thanks again panchovix.

Anytime sooner will there be root ?
No, there will not be root. The security holes have been plugged. The tools used to modify the phones have been blocked.
If you installed a recent over-the-air update, you are out of luck - no recovery, no flashing, no rooting. Period. End of story. Done.
Never accept an over-the-air update for a phone that you want to root or modify.

Wow **** blu.
Guess I'll just return it, you know, cause **** sales too!
Sorry, I am new to rooting with many of my phones and I am getting very frustrated at how many developers patch the root. I used to think Android was friendlier for root than iOS is for jailbreaking, don't think so anymore.
Is there a root friendly list of phones new you have on this forum up-to-date?
Sort of hard to buy a phone requesting from the seller to have the "right version" on it. Ex.) blu phone prior to v6.6.
Thanks.

If you have custom recovery , then yes. The dirty cow part is only needed to allow bootloader unlock. So once it's unlocked and you have recovery , should be no problem to root

The thing I wasn't sure of was the differences in versions so I just took a shot (110) and after clearing the cache got it booted up again.

New comment!
Since the OP apparently is MIA, and since I'm kind of in the first few posts, I'm editing this to provide the latest links for which we in this thread have our hands on, in hopes that a helpless, suffering, wandering soul who may want/need it, sees it.
Other firmwares may be around if you ask.
Also, provide if you have some love to share, since i hear FF also gave up on the A09, presumably to be in tune to Huawei's contempt.
I dunno. Whatever. That's what a community such as this is for.
We also exist here, so check it out if you don't find whatchamacallit here
Thanks to my guide @ante0, for instilling in me a desire to help just like he's helped so many (i read a whole lot by you, even when i hardly ask you things! ...although I'm world's behind his knowledge, to be sure lol!
Thank you, @nabril15, for being a real "mate" on this hobby of ours, refreshing to see someone who comes for what brought them here, and stays afterwards to help in every and any thing they can.
I know, i sound like a just cooked a rom or developed the greatest app yet, but if i didn't say it now, when? xD
Lastly, don't forget to thank (thumbs and, if within your means, why not? a beer or latte) the guys who most immediately make this possible, @Pretoriano80, @zxz0O0 and @topjohnwu

For any flashing yes you do, there's a way to somehow make it recognize there's an update manually but you would have to search for that as i don't exactly recall how, and that way you wouldn't need to unlock bootloader

yeah, it's unfortunate but likely the case. It's the user/customer that has to suffer in the end. Spying via smartphones is done in the US as well. I that case we shouldn't have to worry
BBIWY
Hopefully will keep supporting their US versions, or send one update to change the version to European, thereby making it one less version to work on.
I know, it's not something they'll do..but

Is ridiculous when you think about it. Motorola is owned by Lenovo which is a Chinese company and US government gives them a pass.
Does anyone know, if you were to buy the INTERNATIONAL version of the Mate 10 Pro (Amazon) yeah, no U.S. warranty, would it get the updates faster than the actual U.S. version?
I'm thinking about getting the international version, since it has the bands for at&t (which I use via straight talk).

You should at least be able to rebrand to get updates. I wish I had done that. It will definitely get updates faster, maybe not the latest one. But better than none.
The US brand phone is still great without the latest updates. I'm not a gamer and I can do without face unlock
I'm not a gamer either, but, I'd like to have the security patches within a few weeks instead of months after release. Yeah, I know, you want instant updates, get an Apple or Pixel...but I see the Huawei patches released pretty much LAST for the U.S. versions of their phones.
I'm hoping after Treble is the "normal", patches will be pushed by Google, not the manufacturers or carriers.

Unlock / Root after Huawei's web page closed

Hey guys,
I only have one easy question:
I got the old phone from wife(pra-lx1), 8.0.0 installed.
Is there any working possibility to unlock/Root the phone anymore since Huawei dropped it's webpage for this?
Any working tutorial which is useful? I've have never seen anything working so maybe anyone has an idea how to unlock it.
Thanks in advance!

You can try "DC Unlocker -> Bootloader unlock for Huawei devices " from the playstore.. It costs between 1€ and 16€ per unlock .. unfortunately I havent tried their method .. since the IMEI way they once offered is gone (probably due to huawei disabling the service) .. so you can only try to read the code from your phone's bootloader which may or may not work ... they offer a refund if it doesnt work
Thx I gonna try it! Look @ Huawei's answer. It's a shame!

Yea, already read about it in a german forum, when they announced it in may '18 ... a sad thing they say "improving customer service" when in truth they reduce the service .,.
True thing though that many people bricked their Huawei P / Honor device but only because Huawei blocked all easy ways .. I still remember how easy it was on my good'ol' Galaxy Nexus (3) .. and at that time it was still considered obligatory to offer easy ways because rooting and modding was "fair use" .. Heck they even successfully sued the first manufacturers that tried to block rooting because of this "fair use" practise .. what happened to the world

No, I didnt pay (yet) - because nobody could show a way to root my PRA-LX1 running EMUI 8.0.0..374 without bricking it.
Doesnt make sense to pay unless I can reliably continue unlocking

Yes, I had Android 8.0 and Emui 8.0. I wanted to install a custom rom but I had a lot of problem, I installed TWRP but had a lot of Error 7; I nearly bricked the device but it has started eRecovery by itself and repaired - but this is another story...

Hey bud , unfortunately if you have oreo u cannot update. There are many apps you can try yourself like kingroot. But there is not possivle way of rooting it unless u get into hacking your phone , then i recommend going by this thread : https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g6/help/starting-scratch-t3837452

If you have an H872, then all you have to do is follow this. Read it several times to make sure you understand, and Google videos if needed to make sure you understand. @pena020563 gave you the answer you need, albeit in a cryptic manner - his link will eventually take you to the link I supplied above. And I don't know why he even mentioned Kingroot. The method I am linking you to is, as far as I know, the only way to root an H872. Don't bother with anything else.
Had you looked just a little harder, you know...scrolled down a quarter of the page, you would have found the link I gave you all on your own.
Good luck!

they claim support g6, but no one ever proof it. The last time kingroot is really useful is when Android Lollipop era after Marshmallow they don't have good exploits to install root in system. Many has been patched.

what's your problem with this xda guide? I think it's simple enough but you have to carefully understand what you have to do (just read carefully). If you don't want to leave windows you can use virtual machine (which I believe is more complicated to setup and need more PC resources).
