Not really. It's missing a lot of the necessary framework to do even basic day to day tasks.

[Q] Most stable and fast current ROM

Yes, I know that this subject has been beaten to death, but ONE more time:
Can anyone recommend a STABLE and FAST ROM for Galaxy Note?
I am totally disappointed with the JB stock ROMs in terms of speed. I've also been trying CM9 and CM10 at various stages, byt IMO CM is nowadays buggy as hell... gone are the good old days when Cyanogen was still in charge(?)
I tried PA some time ago, but it was a bit buggy too. I'm a bit curious about it however... maybe it's more stable now? I'd also prefer decent support for the stylus.
Alliance ROM maybe..but in terms of this questions!!people's mind are not identical . this is like asking which girl is the Best one for a permanent
girlfriend!!!be a man .go out there and explore the ROMs and from there u might be able to see for urself ^

Totally interested too!
I'm now on latest MIUI however my wife's Iphone 4S is still faster, smoother and stable...
And those who tell 'go and try' - i've already tried 4 custom roms and 3 custom kernels and i'm sick and tired of restoring data every time after those tries.
So if you can really suggest a good, fast and stable custom rom for daily use - please do.

Sorry, dude, was even unable to install this ROM - tried twice but no luck.
Setup started normally 2 times and then quit suddenly - kicked out of CWM.
It's so weird that they have the only option of ROM install via ROM Customizer (no CWM zip support).
Ended up with clean install of the Ultimate JB v5.2 ROM - will try and see how it goes.

have you tried here? - http://galaxynote.roms-db.com/
excellent selection of quality ROMs for you to try, depending on your preference / needs. there are no bad or "buggy" ROMs imho, it's just a matter of personal preference. CM10.1 with Dynamic screen mode, forced GPU and all animations switched off is perfect for me. But that's only my opinion

[Q] Hi guys,new here!

So I just got a Galaxy Note N-7000 from my dad,and it is already rooted,
but I'm looking to replace my ROM so I have a few questions (hope this is the right place to open this thread in,if not - sorry in advance):
1.Can anyone recommend a JB based rom with nice (not the most important factor to me) design, that mainley runs smooth and FC-free?
[Also very important to me - I need something I can install hebrew on)
2.Does anybody know any JB based roms that have full hebrew support?
[This is the only one I have found :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2208589
and I'm not so sure about it,any feedbacks for pros&cons for this ROM will be greatly appreciated. ]
Thank you!

Welcome!
That is a nice TW (stock samgsung software) based rom, with some tweaks and a diferent kernel you can make it really fast.
On the other hand, as you said you want it to look good I'd recommend you to use VengeanceNote TW, as it's MIUI over the TW base. It is fast. It is beautiful. I'm not sure about the hebrew support tough, you might want to head to the thread and ask there. The dev, Gerrett, is preetty nice and wil most definitely help you as much aas he can.
If you want to use an AOSP ( Google software ) I'd most definitely recommend you Asylum + NX Kernel. This is as fast as my note has ever been. Don't worry about everyone on the thread being crazy tough. Thay are nice after you get used to them
Anyway, good luck with your phone You'll love it

First of all - thank you very much for your quick comment
It's good to meet nice and kind people like you! :good:
Second of all - about that VenganceNote TW - it looks very nice but I had a very bad experience with MIUI on my old SGS,
tons of FC and sometimes I coulden't take calls.
Do you know if this one is stable?
Also,do you know anything about this one ? :

You're lucky then, I had FC on all ROMs i've used on my SGS
I've used VengeanceNote for a long time. It is very stable indeed. Only problem i could remember is that it had a duplicated root manager app, but if you opened the right one you would have no problem at all. I'm just waiting for a custom kernel to support it so i can jump back to it.
Never used Carbon Rom itself, but from what i've experienced with this all-in-one roms, they're not very stable.
I'd say if you're interested on AOSP Asylum is the way to go. It's really clean and fast. And if you don't like the all black look you can always install CM10 themes

I think that would be great,as I said I'm looking for a fast, clean ROM and Asylum sounds perfect,
just 2 more small questions:
1.About that kernel you've recommended,is it mendatory to install with Asylum or I can just stick with my PhilZ kernel ?
2.I would love it if you could explain to me how to install some CM10 themes and where to get them !

Nop, you can use phlz for flashing, but Asylum will overwrite it with CM10 kernel. But i recommend flashing NX after you flashed the rom. It has OC support and GPU clock control. It makes things really smooth.
About the themes you can get them on play store or on some threads here on xda. A quick google search for "CM10 theme" will show you lots of results.

Ummm, actually no,my dad just recommended it to me he said PhilZ is one of the best kernels developers out there,
and that its very safe to use his recovery (maybe I didn't understand correctly but I heard there was a problem some time ago with
ICS kernels/wiping or something, and that this phone got bricked once because of that)
He also said speedmod is great, but I dunno that guy or his kernels lol.

Indeed he's a great dev, and he saved many of us from bricking our devices
On stock samsung kernels, there's a bug, that when you wipe your data partition on recovery it corrupt's the memory chip, rendering it useless. So if you are going to use stock roms on your phone, either don't wipe or stick to safe kernels.
On the other hand, the AOSP kernels don't show such behaviour and are generally safe. So if your going with Asylum, don't worry. You're safe.

No, unfortunatelly you can't add thos features on any AOSP rom. Neither those nor Snote and other TW apps.
VengeanceNote include them tough. Seems you have to make your choice
No problem man I felt lost when i've changed my phone, and if someone haven't made the same thing for me i would have probably bricked it

CoCore

Sometimes on my i9070 I experience some lag. Sometimes much, sometimes a little. I've read some posts here to look into some issues with this phone and came across something (a kernel I believe) called CoCore. It seems it is used for overclocking the processor for a nice performance boost.
At the moment the phone is running unofficial cyanogenmod 11. Will it be wise or helpfull to install this CoCore on the device? And what are the risks involved?
Cocore kernel is for stock ROM. CM 11 has its own kernel that is based on Cocore too. Try using Greenify app maybe on the apps you don't use often that might run in the background. Search for the app on Playstore or here on xda.

Hmm, so what do you think gives a smoother phone? Stock with cocore or a custom rom?

I notice it too. So it seems that it is not a placebo.
Do you think it's better then custom roms or stock rom with CoCore?

Indeed, as demonstrated in my latest two posts of this topic.
No miracle, but it helps to speed memory write operations in different situations.

Lagfix is not a kernel, just an app to run regularly (manually if you use free version).
Personally I think that, if you don't have the patience to customize Stock Rom with Cocore kernel properly, you should try some Android 4.4 Custom Rom until you find a good one for you.
I keep using Stock Rom just for one reason, I customized it too much and I'm too lazy to start again.
Thanks a lot for all of your answers. I think I will keep using this room I'm using right now and when I get bored I'll try a version of jb with lagfix, or maybe I will just use stock with CoCore. The rom I'm using now sure is very stable.
Everything goes to show that it's all good and just a matter of personal taste. But some roms are definitely better than others.

At the moment it has cyanogenmod 11 (unofficial), with flattington theme. This doesn't make the phone faster, but it doesn't have hangups or lag like touchwiz. It's a very nice looking theme!

Which ROM for most settings and customizability?

Which ROM should I install if I want the most amount of settings and ways to customize things?
Some additional thoughts...
Does one even need a custom ROM these days, or can most things be changed using "Xposed installer"?
Are there any drawbacks using a custom ROM?
1. RR is a good choice IMO.
2. More features to play with. Themes. More updates.
3. Xposed doesn't exist on Nougat.
4. Nope except not be able to use full stock features. Stability? It depends on the ROMs and the maturity of the Android version.

Oxygen OS apps (but you can get a port version for Camera and Gallery)
Dark UI (but you can flash a ROM supporting Substratum)
...
I don't remember OOS well and since I have a preference for custom ROMs over stock firmware I can't give you many reasons to stay on OOS. If you want to have the latest Android version, some day you will have flash a custom ROM.

I've spent ten minutes trying to figure out which one is the official (or best) version of Resurrection Remix. Can you point me in the right way?
The one in your signature says it has a pirate-icon if you install pirate stuff. And while I may not do that, I still don't like the idea of that.
So which RR would you recommend?

Both versions have this anti piracy measure I think.
I recommend the unofficial builds since I'm using them ?
It has extra features such as delta updates, signature spoofing support,... and the dev is always available to help and answer our questions.

You could have just flashed the ROM days ago, and have decided yourself; instead of waiting for others to dictate what you will or will not like. And just because someone recommends it, doesn't mean you will even like it.

Agreed nicesoni ash has the best build in my opinion and the dev is great and very supportive of the rom and it's users. And there are lots of unofficial builds for nicesonis rom but you only need to install the latest one.

Touch Whiz is a user touch interface that runs on top of Android. Not sure what you mean by Touch Whiz based ROM. Since Touch Whiz is Samsung proprietary it isn't likely you will find it in a custom ROM. It is not available for licensing by external parties.

:good: Got it! But it looks like you are limited to stock ROMs. I am currently on rooted Stock Nougat (T813) and I am very pleased with the performance and battery life. I was on Lineage for a while and it was good too, but I prefer the look and feel of stock.
