Can't mount root/etc to Read-Write - Xiaomi Mi 8 Questions & Answers

Hello, I'm having some mounting problems with my phone, specifically editing /etc/gps.conf I have already mounted the dir to RW but when I want to change something in that file it says: "the destination filesystem is mounted read-only."
I've tried other explorers and got the same result. I'm on EU 8.11.15, rooted, unencrypted. Although I didn't flash dm-verity because there's no need for that. Is that the on causing this problem?
Thank you for the help.

The files are not there. It's like hidden or something.

Maybe try the permissive module in Magisk and see if that helps

There is a module in Magisk repository which changes the SE Linux status from enforcing to permissive.

The module has been discontinued and will not work on dipper anyway. I will try mounting via TWRP.

Here is the solution to your problem my friends. Enjoy!
Works like a charm in Android 10 and later. Now my system, vendor and product partitions are read-write!
Use at your own risk!

I'm talking about a bad link as in URL.. To that specific mod pack. Unless it does that for every mod pack.

If you know how to take a logcat then you should do that and post it in the viper rom thread.
Maybe try finding which apk that is and wiping it's data.
You may lose your settings for your mods though

No its a apk
And you have to install it munally
You can also use an xposed module to get a centre clock if you are after a more generic approach.
Highly recommend the network speed monitor module as well. Great for knowing when your phone is trying to sneakily chew up your data.

Xtouchwiz is what i use.
Gravitybox works for me.
Xtouchwiz goes off centre depending on what's in the notification area on mine.
(as you can see on my last pic with it off centre.)

Thank you.
Can you please send me a link which TWRP should I flash? And with what options in Odin?
I already sucessfully rooted my device with "CF-auto root" , but I would need the CWM recovery, because I want to install Xposed Frameworks too.
I know I am kind of annoying with the questions, but I dont really want to brick my tablet and I would rather ask than do something wrong.

What do you mean exactly? You can`t use EFS data that is not compatible/assigned to the motherboard of your phone, ie someone elses EFS data.

Or try this with adb:
You must be rooted.
Open an ADB shell or install a terminal emulator like this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...roidterm&hl=en
After that, write the following 3 commands:
su (press Return)
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p10 of=/sdcard/modemst1.bin bs=512 (press Return)
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11 of=/sdcard/modemst2.bin bs=512 (press Return)
Backup files modemst1.bin and modemst2.bin will be created on the root your internal storage.
To restore them flash them both seperately without rebooting in fastboot.
Scource http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2766186&page=9 by @Vonnegut.
That doesn't work. Actually, I ran this through adb and also got similar results.

Could someone please give me stock recovery for MIUI 11.0.5 eea?

I am not able to download the full package to extract the recovery from, because of super sucky connection during lockdown. I would be so grateful if someone gives a link to it.

Hey mate thanks. Upon extracting the ROM package, there should be a images folder in which there will be a file named 'recovery.img'. I need this file. ?
