Note 9 hangs frequently in the biometrics settings - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Hello All
I have an Exynos Samsung Galaxy Note 9 with stock ROM. Since the last OTA update whenever I use the bimometrics settings the phone becomes un responsive and hangs up. It keeps rebooting or sometimes I have to forecefully shut down the phone.
The issue has persisted even after factory reset and flashing stock ROM via Odin. There is no issue with the hardware like finger print, iris scanner etc.
Please advice what could be the issue.

It can happen if the efs folder is messed up for some reason... Since u r not rooted thar would not have happened.
Re download the stock rom once more and try to reflash again.
Also if u r using any themes try to remove them as well. Some of the themes are not fully compatible

It could be the framework changes you did with the battery.
Flash a stock ROM back on it, see if that solves your problem.

That's a known issue on 2.3.5
On a number of occasions it happens after a call.
Just switch to the latest stock in the 2.3.6 series and all should be OK.

He means: Just update your phone from Android 2.3.5 to 2.3.6
The forum has several threads about updating and rooting
OK, I have figured out that 2.3.6 is the android version. But my phone is already onto that version installed, so I can't upgrade to it to fix the problem....
Any other ideas?

galaxy note shve160s.
OK here's you're first problem, this is not the thread for your device. Second you may need to use Odin to flash your original stock ROM. Your stock firmware can be found at www.sammobile.com or samfirmware.com. If that doesn't work it maybe a hardware problem. Next time search XDA for your phone's model number. This thread is for SGH-T879. Good luck. P.S. don't use ROM manager to flash CWM If your exact phone isn't listed. You're lucky you didn't brick your phone.

Secure Startup Hanging on Latest Patch.

I have a SM-N960F/DS with a XSP CSC I recently flashed September BTU firmware from sammobile because I was tired of waiting and everything works great and smoothly except for Secure Startup. Occasionally Secure Startup will hang and the animation will completely freeze for a few minutes. Until eventually the device automatically restarts itself once again requesting my password. Its only after a few hard resets will the device finally boot. Any ideas what could be causing this?

remove secured startup/password reboot to recovery, clear caches then reenable it again?
Thanks for your response. I just tried this and it didn't seem to fix the problem completely however it reduced the frequency in which it happens.
Update: Upon further use it appears this has solved the problem. Thank you.

Problem with rom stock

Good morning, I hope you can help me. I have a note 9 sm-n960f and with the last update of the stock rom the mobile does not turn on. The update went well and everything was set up fine. The problem I have is that when I turn off the mobile and turn it on, it stays on the Samsung logo and I have to force it off and turn it on again until it starts well, it can stay on the logo several times and other times it starts normally. I have flashed the last stock rom again by odin and the same thing happens, the first boot does it well and lets you configure all the mobile correctly but if you already turn it off and turn it on again, it loops into the Samsung logo and starts when you want. I have also flashed a last stock rom from Germany and I have downloaded several stock roms and the same thing happens to all of them. I have installed custom rom and if they are from android 10 the same thing happens they stay in the logo, on the other hand with android 11 in custom rom it starts perfectly. Could someone give me some advice, I would like to stay on the stock rom for various reasons. To finish saying that when flashing by odin I have tried it with the 4 files and also with the pit file but everything remains the same. I hope your help. Thanks
Try unlock bootloader, so that you can proceed and flash other custom rom.
