Problem with 5GHz WiFi networks - Honor Play Questions & Answers

I got yesterday this smartphone and I have one problem.
I conected to two different routers to 5GHz network and I get so much low download speed, around 1mb. When I conect to a 2.4GHz network I get full speed.
Does anyone have this same issue?

Yes

Try different channels, different time of the day/week to try and rule out interference.

Wifi issues

So I'm having Wifi Connection issues on my Mile stone. I'm running the Lastest STABLE version from Miui.us. Problem is I can connect but within a min or two of connection it looses connection and says wifi out of range even if Im standing right next to it. If I forget the connection and restart my router it will find it and connect again and do the same thing. I've tried my cousins Samsung Vibrant on my wireless router and he doesn't have any issues so I know its not the router itself. Any Idea's on how to fix this guys?

Yeah, 1.9.9 is a beta development build, but he's just remarking how stable it really is.
Hi, I have the same problem with WIFI, I cahanged the slep policy, and when I activate Wifi it's starting scanning for nothing, no wifi Network appears and when I can connect, after a whie it's disconnecting itself and doesn't reconnect. Somebody knows the problem?..I'm using MIUI android v1.9.9
I'm not sure, I updated to 1.9.16 and I'm having some issues with mine but not as bad. The weird thing is wifi won't work if the mobile data network is enable, when i turn that off my wifi will connect but if i get even like 10 feet away from the router it starts having connection issues and sometimes when im right next to it. But no where as bad as it was before.

Are you on stock rom? If you are, you can just reset your phone via LG software.
If you are on a manually flashed kdz file, just ensure that you have a full build and re flash.
If not, try other wifi settings.
*note, when reseting or re flashing, it will clear all data.

Just got an official response from LG. The question was whether our phone support 802.11N.
The answer was:
Thank you for contacting the company LG Electronics!
This phone model supports 5 GHz.
concluded that the 2.4 GHz band is not supported
for tests you can go to "Hidden Menu/WLAN Test/FTM Test", there you can see some options.

Just do a factory reset, and re-flash the phone, if possible in web upgrade mode.
Takes less time than be walking around and around trying to fix some weird bug that no one knows for sure what it is.
Good luck on that.

Tried to reflash the different firmware, reset too. Original firmware for the country also did not help.
Network sees but does not connect to it.
Which can be stored in the system log files of WiFi?

I have the same issue.
In my home router witch support only 2.4 Gh 802.11b/g/n band, left only N mode, my phone did not conect, but have the samsung android phone it did connect.
Anybody help
Th's in advise
Have the 10g version.
Most 802.11n products will knock your throughput down by up to 80% if you use WEP or WPA/TKIP security.
The reason is that the 802.11n spec states that the high throughput rates (link rates above 54 Mbps) can't be enabled if either of those outdated security methods are used.
The bottom line is that you can only use WPA2/AES wireless security (or no security at all) if you don't want to throw away lots of speed.
Similarly, WMM must be enabled in order to get link rates higher than 54 Mbps.
Thank's I see. The problem steel exists. Can't connect to N speed my linksys e900 home router, at the same time connect from my 2 notebooks and Samsung 5570 mini with speed 72mbit.
Any ideas?

Wifi keeps disconnecting

Hi all,
Hoping someone can help me out. I have the 512GB version and been having a hell of a time with my wifi randomly disconnecting and reconnecting. Sometimes it wont even reconnect due to "authentication error". Anyone have a fix or been experiencing the same issue?

I haven't used any other wifi but all my phones are fine on my home router except for this one.
What router is it? Check/experiment with the settings on it.

Have a look at wireless mode and see if changing that makes a difference.

Connecting to Bluetooth speaker slows down wifi speed. Is there any solution?

When i use to connect my honor play to any Bluetooth device, then the speed of wifi gets throttled. It is a very drastic problem.
On the Hi care app they've suggested to use 5Ghz wifi for this issue

It's a feature of the router to support 5ghz band. You'll have to look if your router supports it or not and if it does how to enable it.

You can do nothing of it AFAIK in Honor/Huawei devices same chip is used for Bluetooth and WiFi and hence the issue is arising.

Reboot is always required to use internet.

This is very inconvenient. If I disconnect from WiFi or LTE, then reconnect, apps do not detect the netwoork unless I reboot first. Has anyone experienced this problem or have a solution?

Never thought of doing that. I don't think that would be a complete solution though, because on LTE the issue still exists; it is not just a problem on WiFi.
Are you using some extreme power saving options/solutions/aps etc etc ?

Last nite I installed the OTA update of android 9. Since then the problems have been non existant. I will continue to update this post, and try all the tips I have been offered, if the problem returns.
I found the source of the problem. The VPN I use was preventing the apps from accessing the Internet.
