I am unable to send texts from my device. I thought of checking the SMSC but can't find it anywhere.
Send a snap of error received while sending sms.
Check with local operator too if hadn't.
You can find the option in Settings > Messages > Sms centre number.

Hi this is my first post here. I've upgraded to WM5 following all the instructions.
Everything appears to work fine, unless I can't send SMS. Any ideas?
Maybe you are missing you message center number.
Phone -> Menu -> options -> TAB: services -> Voice Mail and Text Messages -> get settings
No, I checked and is there. Also I downgrade to 1.40 and I could send SMS, then re-upgrade to WM5 and receives "Your text message cannot be sent"

Hello. I have HTC Diamond 2 from Europe and it was automatic set up with htc wizard for Orange in Spain. Now when I try send any SMS one alert screen say "It is impossible send SMS" what can i do? Thanks a lot.
You have to set up the SMS service number depending on your service provider. The setting for it is in setting>Personal>>phone> 2nd tab "Services" > choose "Voice mail & Text Messages" then click get settings
You have to enter the Service number from your network.

Just a quick solution if by any reason your Vivid stops from sending SMS.
Tried multiple things so the reason of this post is to avoid you the waste of time my loss your gain
In my case was as simple as call my Network provider and ask for the "SMS Service Center" In my case my network provider is Claro in Costa Rica and the Service Center is +50670000400
Steps assuming that you're running ICS.
1-Open Messages.
2-Open the Menu.
3-Select Settings.
4-Select Text messages (SMS)
5-Select service Center.
6-Introduce the number given by your network provider.
7-Test it.
8-Still same issue? then reboot the phone.

I'm having a strange issue with sending SMSes. The carrier promted me to check if I have the correct SMS message center is used. I don't have any option to modify the center, so I thought of sending me a few SMSes from another phone as a test, and I did receive those messages on my Milestone, but when trying to send a SMS, it doesn't work, it just gets stuck on "Sending...".
I'm using CM 7.2.4f
You can't modify the sms center? How come? It should be available in the messaging app settings.
Nope, there are other people who reported not being able to change the SMS centre and I'm one of them.

I cannot locate a manual setting for it, but I'm almost 100% sure there will be a dialer code you can put in to see this..
The newer Huawei device now come preloaded with Google SMS app so for me it doesn't contain the setting.
Ya just to let you know the only way to see the SMSC is through Feature codes. however the normal *#*#4636#*#* code doesn't work on the P20 or P20 Pro when i tried it this week. The only way to reprogram it is to have your carrier Resend the provisioning.
