When i was updated Mi A2 into Pie rom i've installed Gcam & Unlocked Camera2aPi. After doing this, My Front Camera is Not working and Front Flash also. I flashed Stock Oreo Rom from EDL and Fastboot Rom.
I also installed A2 Converted into 6x. But the front Camera and Front Flash is not working.
So is it Hardware Problem?? Sometimes Camera works for 2/3 minutes and Shows Blue,Red screen in Camera.
Would be great if you could atleast use the word "please" before summoning others. Anyway, hope someone helps you.

Hi I have just got a laptop and want to either root my Xiaomi Mi A2 or flash it with the Miui 10 software I tried last night and got no where.... Is there a way to do it as the videos I watched didn't help. I tied unzipping files but they where empty via an XDA link. Many thanks.

But camera does not work.. Use android one rom only if ur Indian user..
Why don't you buy mi 6x?
For fix the camera. Go to camera settings and disable this option and the camera works without problem
U can try flash miui10 treble version to ur device,i think that can work on a2,may be

It's the low light option
Camera official Mi 6x firmware ( CN) kamera all ok. Global rom camera dont work. Front canera bug ( HDR on work) Back camera setting camera low light disabled and camera work. G cam work 100% All firmware

because genius, probably he didn't know that it does not have miui but Android One (like me and some guys that i told them about it) or it is not available in his country (like mine)
I'm an Android and MIUI newb, I really try to get the hang of it, but please, can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong here:
I want to install the apk of GCam and it just doesn't seem to work. I installed the latest version by B-S-G (MGC_6.1.021_Vc_Newlibs) and still the camera doesn't run smoothly and freezes every time I open the app.
I'm running on MIUI 10.1.1.0 stable, my device bootloader is NOT unlocked.
What am I doing wrong?
I'm not certain, but I think you need to root your phone to use Gcam properly.
But one advice: I have custom ROM in Mi 8 which had Gcam (BSG) in it. Not impressed as it is not that stable and as far as I understand, not a single Xiaomi model with Gcam can use slow motion. And I think you also lose optical zoom with it (not 100% sure about that).
I think I'll chance my ui back to miui and just de-bloat all the crap Xiaomi have put in.
I got the same problem with 10.1.1 Global Stable. Gcam is very laggy and freeze

The only reason I want to use it is Night Sight.

Hello, same thing here! I'm on MIUI 10.1.1.0 global
Night sight has a VERY laggy viewfinder and pictures is not properly taken (seems to be a normal picture) and takes about 30s
I have Pie Beta 8.12.7 MIUI.EU and the last version, 1d work perfect for me.
Newest GCam Ports only working on latest Betas without problems. For the 10.1.1.0 Release you need to use the Android 8.1 versions of the GCam Port...

Thank you, that makes me hopeful.
You just need to read... you need android 9 with night mode in stock camera app. If you have that you can install latest gcams without issue and no need to do additional steps.

Sorry, but what night mode in the stock camera app? There's no such preference on my phone.
II have buy a brand new mi 8 from my carrier.
My front ir camera was not working in the stock Miui 10.
So i unlock my phone and start flashing first rom for the model and hoping the ir camera gonna work. But whit no success.
Entering in CIP and testing all cameras are edning whit fail.
Even on custom roms i have the message that the front camera is not working.
My all cameras are working prity fine whit g cam and stock Miui 10 rom.
Any one have the same problem?

I've ran into a very big problem. I was just flashing ROM's on my phone and GCam just completely stopped working on all AOSP based ROMs. These APK's work very well on the stock MIUI ROM as well as xiaomi.eu ROMS. They just don't work with AOSP based ROMs. The only one's working with the AOSP ROM's are the one's which come pre-installed sometimes like Lineage stock camera or snap cam. Even ANX Camera works fine. Only GCam does not. Please help me out guys. I even tried flashing the stock rom via mi flash tools wiping everything but not locking the bootloader. But doesn't work.
After updating to Android 10, the stock camera is crashing. I have enabled camera2api, so gacm working fine. I need use front flasher for selfies but no cam support for front flasher ?.
Please someone give me solution or suggest me a camera app that supports front flasher ?
Disable camera2api, afaik this is the only solution so far...
