Zuk Pro Boot directly into Recovery/Fast Boot Menu.Stuck on Bootloader unlock screen - Lenovo Zuk Z2 Pro Questions & Answers

Dear Supporters,
I flashed Stock ZUI 1.9 on my ZUK Z2 Pro phone by using qfil. By mistake i select erase all option in qfill and after flashing i lost IMEI and MAC addresses. Luckly i have my EFS backup (QCN files). In order to restore my QCN i have to unlock my bootloader and install TWRP and Superuser. But i am facing issue and below mentioned are the scenarios i have so far tried.
Unlocking Bootloader and Installing TWRP with ZUI 1.9
Many time i have flashed Stock ZUI 1.9 and always my phone boots into below options screen (see 1.jpg);
0. SD update
1. Restore QCN
2. Save Param
3. Reboot
4. Shutdown
5. GetInfo
When i connect charger with switched off phone, it automatically switched on to same screen as mentioned above.
I have to long press power button and when second time ZUK logo (vibration) appears i release power button and phone boots in to Android OS. If i unlock my boot loader by using official way, my phone stuck on bootloader unlock screen (see 3.jpg).
Unlocking Bootloader and Installing TWRP with ZUI 3.5
I also try to unlock boot loader by using STOCK ZUI 3.5. But after update to ZUI 3.5 my phone boot into fastboot mode (see 2.jpg). In this fast boot mode i cannot scroll to menu but send fastboot commands.
I have to long press power button and when second time ZUK logo (vibration) appears i release power button and phone boots in to Android OS. If i unlock my boot loader my phone stuck on bootloader unlock warning screen (see 3.jpg).
Note:
1- Same behavior with ZUI 2.5, ZUI 2.3 if i try to unlock boot loader and install twrp
2- Just one time my phone boots in OS (ZUI 3.5) and and pass the unlock warning screen. Also just one time my phone boots to Twrp but sudden crashed and restart it self.
Any suggestion or solution to solve it.
Is there any way to solve this issue.
Thanks for help.

Solved: Zuk Z2 Pro Stuck in EDL 9008 mode and port auto connecting/disconnecting

Stuck at booting into custom TWRP recovery

Hello, this is not the first time I'm rooting an Android phone, and I had no problems with any of my past attempts. However, this situation with Huawei P9 EVA-L09 has given me a headache...
I have originally followed this guide:
https://theunlockr.com/2016/12/06/root-huawei-p9-p9-plus/
(which appears to have skipped tiny but crucial part on flashing twrp - so I don't recommend)
Everything was going fine until I have flashed TWRP on my still NOT-rooted Huawei P9 EVA-L09 (adb reboot bootloader ; fastboot flash twrp-3.1.0-0-eva.img) successfully:
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
sending 'recovery' (22462 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.639s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.302s]
finished. total time: 0.944s
After this I have used the command fastboot reboot and phone started normally. However when I try booting into custom TWRP recovery I just flashed and get the usual bootloader unlocked warning! I either get stuck at Phone is booting now... or I get into original EMUI Huawei eRecovery.
Did I do something wrong? What do I do after flashing TWRP?
I have read somewhere that original EMUI ROM maybe rewrites custom recovery if OS(ROM) boots before you entered recovery so could this be my problem? How do I reboot directly into TWRP from fastboot to avoid booting into the ROM?
Also, what is the correct way to boot into TWRP, what key combo? Since I get phone bootloader unlocked warning! right after powering on the phone, do I press the combination right away or after the warning shows up? I've been trying to boot custom recovery for hours, this is just silly...
Put simply I can't seem to get into TWRP I just flashed so I can install SuperSU from SD card to root my phone...
I have tried older TWRP version too, didn't help.
Phone is Huawei P9 EVA-L09, Android 7.0 EMUI 5.0, tried both TWRP versions from here: https://dl.twrp.me/eva/
After flashing twrp you should special reboot to twrp. Adb command reboot with pushing vol + and at the same time disconect usb cable. Check this on twrp official

How will I do anything with adb if I'm in fastboot mode? Only fastboot commands work...
Maybe you thought fastboot reboot and key combos, but which combos are correct? The TWRP official page says I should Google for key combo (how come they don't know lol, I guess they had to test the bloody thing?) and I have googled but some people say it's power down, some up, some both, what the f? When I think I got it right I get stuck on Device is booting now...
I've just tried this:
Flash TWRP 3.1.0-0-eva again over ADB
fastboot reboot + VolUp held and USB cabble plugged out
Stuck forever at Device is booting now... (below the Unlocked bootloader warning).
Ofcourse fastboot.

Solved this part by using this TWRP version:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/twrp-t3565703
The button combination to enter TWRP on P9 EVA-L09 EMUI 5.0 is - Power and Vol+ buttons held while fastboot reboot command is issued in CMD and USB cable unplugged, all at the same time. After device vibrates you should release only the power button. When you see 'Device is booting...' you can release Vol+ too. TWRP should now boot.
Now on to root...
Solution:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/twrp-3-0-2-0-n-t3506947/post70927601#post70927601
After flashing EMUI 5.0 EVA-L09C432B378 and update B378_update_data_full_hw_eu and wiping my phone (wipe data/factory reset - yes this was probably stupid without backup or anything), it boots fine but there is no keyboard app, only useless voice control. This wouldn't be a problem if I could get past EMUI welcome screen and install keyboard.apk manually but it won't allow me to use the phone until I log into Google account which I used on the phone before factory reset. It doesn't allow me to access SD card or anything either, doesn't even ask for permission when plugged in. Flash process also rewrote TWRP recovery so I only have eRecovery atm (bootloader is still unlocked but this is useless at this point). I also cannot enable Dev options/USB debugging or reach phone settings (all reset to default obviously) at all because I can't get past EMUI welcome wizard without a keyboard... I can use dialer keypad in emergency call mode before starting the welcome wizard, for example I just checked my IMEI, but most other commands don't work.
Any ideas? I read that there is a rollback version which will enable me to flash the previous EMUI/Android6.0 version, but which rollback is right for my device European EVA-L09C432B378 phone? I don't want to get into more trouble by flashing a wrong file...

When I hold Power + Vol+, it stucks on "Device is booting now..." forever. And for normal power up, it show the EMUI recovery. I've tried so many way but useless. [TWRP][P9][3.1.1-1][EMUI 5.x/AOSP N][DECRYPTION SUPPORT] by OldDroid did't help. Is there any version of TWRP can help my Huawei Nova 2i???

Error!
Func NO: 11 (recovery image)
Error NO: 2 (load failed!)
Am I screwed ? :0

Don't understand why you thought that relocking bootloader would help you to enter TWRP, but it's too late for discussions about.
Relocking bootloader trigers hard reset, but hard reset fails if you don't have stock partititions (eg, TWRP means you don't have stock recovery, root means you don't have stock boot partition).
You didn't have and you don't have OS (hence you will not be able to Unlock OEM, and if TWRP was deleted, you can't flash it - TWRP is usually needed to recover)
You should first find out what you really have now :
Press power for long (if needed, even for half a minute), to make sure phone switches off. Make sure USB is disconnected. Boot by Vol+, Vol- and Pow: does it boot to TWRP, eRecovery or to nowhere?
Turn off again, connect by USB to PC (same USB cable, same PC you previously flashed TWRP from or locked/relocked your bootloader from). Power on by Vol- and Pow, does it boot to Fastboot and does Fastboot say that FRP and Bootloader are locked or unlocked.
If you still have TWRP (first test) or if Bootloadr and FRP are unlocked (test 2) in which case you can flash TWRP -you are good, you can try some methods to install stock ROM through TWRP, like HWOTA method:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75787156&postcount=3
If you have eRecovery, you can pull out SD card and pepare it for DLOAD instalation of ROM.
Bad if you don't have any recovery and FRP and/or Bootloader is locked. Maybe DC Phoenix can help you then

Thank you so much for your answer @zgfg
Thanks to you I understood that the phone was never really turning off no matter how long I press (I tried for 1 min approx), so I left it to discharge and when I plugged in I pressed the 3 buttons and it "boots" to EMUI eRecovery. Then I tried the download and restore but it failed of course. I reboot with USB and Vol- and Pow, and it loads the white screen with

With FRP Unlocked you can try to unlock Bootloader - it will fail to hard reset, but if it unlocks, you will be able to flash TWRP.
With TWRP you can try - download and use stock ROM for your model:

Are you on P9 Nougat?
Better use TWRP from here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75787111&postcount=1
Nevertheless, what does it mean you cannot access TWRP - does Fastboot on the PC side report successful flashing?
If so, then
- keep USB connected to both phone and PC
- press and keep pressing Vol+, Vol- and Pow on the phone (it will not reboot yet)
-execute fastboot reboot
and immediately after disconnect USB
-keep presing three buttons as above, release Pow when it shows booting
You must be quick (with USB disconnectibg) and do exactly as above - with that phone should reboot to TWRP
If you don"t get it, phone will reboot to System and you will loose TWRP (you will have to flash TWRP agai)
Only when you first time upon flashing enter TWRP as above, TWRP will remain and later you will be able to enter TWRP as usual
Solution
For anyone pretty much, who has ****ed up his Huawei P9:
I got to the state where I could only enter Fastboot mode (Press vol- and connect power cable). When I tried to start the phone / go into recovery it would only display the "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" Message. My mistake was to relock the bootloader in an attempt to get the recovery to work.
I looked for hours for the answer, here is what worked for me:
follow this tutorial (the "update firmware" part)
German
English
But with real precision, every step.
If you have a european unbranded L09 you should be fine using the firmware you can find on this site:
https://thedroidguru.com/download-install-huawei-p9-b394-nougat-update-europe/
if not you gotta find the full firmware (3 files!!) yourself - good luck!
If you only want to go back to stock you should be fine afterwards.
If you want to install twrp for root/custom rom/... follow these steps after installing twrp with the tool:
Upon flashing TWRP, FIRST THING YOU MUST DO is rebooting to TWRP. If you don't do that, stock Recovery will ovewrite TWRP.
Find instructions in the TWRP threads how to enforce immediate booting to TWRP, upon you flashed it:
-Type on the PC: fastboot reboot -but don't press Enter yet.
-Press and keep pressing Vol+ and Power buttons together on the phone
-Press Enter on the PC and then immediately unplug USB cabel.
-When phone shows Booting, release Power but keep pressing Vol+. button
Hope this helps, I don't take responsability for anything, happy flashing!

help needed: can not flash other recovery despite having unlocked bootloader

Hi Guys,
yesterday I was able to unlock my Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro bootloader after waiting for 7 days. The unlock was successfull at first attempt, but now my issues begin and I couldnt find a thread where someone has similar isseues.
1. after unlocking the bootloader, I booted to fastboot mode and flashed twrp (from a greek xiaomi forum website ) after that I tried to boot into recovery. The attempt was unsuccessfull and I got the Mi-Logo Screen with the unlocked message at the bottom, after 60 sec the screen goes black and nothing happens, only fastboot mode is working.
2. flashed back to stock recovery -> the phone boots up successfully and is working.
3. Used the Miflash 2017.4.25.0 Tool to flash fastboot rom to have an untouched condition (clean all option).
4. tried to flash another twrp (from wzsx150), same behavior like in 1. explained. Flashing back stock recovery -> phone boots and is working.
5. again used Miflash to have an untouched condition, tried another twrp (By mauronofrio)
5. same behaviour like in 1. explained...
I actually got a Mi 8 Pro and it was so easy for me to flash twrp (also unoffical builds like now for the 9t pro). Switching to different intel laptops with win7 or win10 didnt solve the problem. Changing USB Type C cabels also didnt help
Can someone explain why I'm not getting things to work, as there are already other members which did it successfully...
Try this...
1. flash TWRP
2. Reboot directly from fastboot into TWRP with volume + and power button
3. Flash TWRP.img with TWRP
Problem solved
Kollachi, thanks for the suggestion but didnt work either.
I found a solution by myself I ordered the xiaomi from amazon DE and it was shipped with global stable, why not EEA? I always used the global stable fastboot rom to start from zero, like mentioned, without success.
The solution was flash eea fastboot rom -> twrp installation worked at first attempt and still works! Interesting that this helped me to solve this..

Help with bricked mi mix loses detection with pc (can still go to fastboot)

Got bootloader unlock
Flash twrp by mr raines (touch works)
When pressing volume+ recovery, it goes to stock recovery. My workaround was to boot twrp in adb.
Tried flashing roms but getting error 1 and 7
Then phone became undetected by pc, last thing i tried installing was qualcomm drivers.
Was about to fix twrp booting to save me. But too late. I'm stuck on logo
Any fix for this problem?
Oh can the mi mix be force power off?

[GUIDE] Install Magisk on stock ROM

My phone is A2020G, so the ROM version of the following instructions is for G only, but you can still try on A2020U (just notice the Android version).
I once flashed Magisk through TWRP on stock Pie ROM but caused freeze at the boot screen, even the same while patching the boot image. However, now I found that if you are at stock Q and R version, you can now successfully install Magisk by patching boot images.
The only problem is that there is no TWRP for the two versions of stock ROM (since the recovery was made into boot image), so be careful while installing modules.
My method is to use Axon 10 EDL Tool. Fastboot mode is unavailable for stock Pie and Q Bootloader, while R can but this fastboot cannot flash images. So we need to use the patched bootloader of EDL Tool to access the fastboot and flash the patched boot images, then recover to the original bootloader so it can boot the system (The patched bootloader of EDL Tool can only boot stock Pie ROM).
Before proceeding:
Make sure you have updated to at least stock Q version and unlocked bootloader.
If you have not unlocked at Q or R, you can still proceed unlocking. The program will auto backup your current bootloader, however the patched bootloader cannot boot stock Q and R. So following these instructions:
1.Turn on the Developer Options and turn on OEM unlocking, remove your Google Account and lock screen passwords cause it will ask you to login after wiping because of FRP.
2.Boot into EDL Mode (If the phone is off, hold on pressing Vol+ and Vol- and then connect the cable; If the phone is on, connect the cable, then hold on pressing two Volume buttons and then press the power button for about 10 sec and the phone will automatically reboot)
3.Execute the EDL Tool with administrator rights.
4.Choose Unlock-Unlock bootloader
5.Follow the instructions, when the program has flashed (not backup) patched bootloader (Display "DONE", ask you to press any key), hit enter, and your phone will reboot immediately. When your phone vibrates, press both of the Vol+ and Vol- button immediately to boot into fastboot. (If you press in advance you will boot into EDL mode)
6.Open Command Prompt, use the fastboot.exe of the EDL Tool to proceed this command line:
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock
or just drag the program into CMD, like this:
Code:
D:\Axon10Pro_EDL_Tool\tools\fastboot.exe flashing unlock
7.Your phone will display the unlock warning, use volume button to select Yes and press power button to confirm.
8.After pressing power button (keep the cable connecting), press the two volume button immediately to boot into EDL mode, open the EDL Tool again and Restore bootloader from backup.
9.While restoring completed, reboot and hold on pressing Vol+ button to boot into recovery, the phone will automatically erase data and unlocking is done.
After unlocked:
1.Use djkuz's Axon 10 EDL Tool
2.Backup your boot image.
3.Copy your boot image to your phone and install Magisk Application.
4.Patch the two boot images (a/b), and remember the filename of the patched a and b boot.
5.Copy the patched boot images to your computer.
6.Use the EDL Tool to proceed unlocking, follow step 5 above to boot into fastboot.
7.Use the fastboot.exe of EDL Tool to flash patched boot images:
Code:
fastboot flash boot_a pta.img
fastboot flash boot_b ptb.img
(pta, ptb is the filename of your patched boot image)
8.Use volume button to select the green "START" and hit power button to reboot.
9.Follow step 8 above to recover bootloader, and you are done.
Problems:
Cannot use the default "Files" application to install local modules in stock R ROM cause it will possibly crash, so you have to install a third-party file manager application (like Root Explorer) to select modules. (When it open "Files" app, click the menu icon of the left side and select your installed file manager, then select modules to install)
Notes:
I can't find a way of checking which slot(A/B) of the phone has been on without using recovery, so I have to patch the two bootloaders. If you know, then you can patch and flash only that one.
I don't know if you can update to stock Q while unlocked at Pie when I saw this thread, but you can still upgrade to stock R while unlocked and installed Magisk at Q (V2.8). Just remember not to reboot immediately after you installed the upgrade, use the Magisk Application to install to another slot and then reboot.
Hope you enjoy~
Thanks to djkuz for developing the EDL Tool

Thanks for the guide, My phone is A2020G and bootloader is unlocked. Is there an easy way to boot into fastboot mode easily? I do not want to unlock again, because the data in the phone is reset after bootloader unlocking process.

There is no way other than using the EDL Tool because ZTE didn't make fastboot accessible while it is on stock Bootloader. However it's safe to flash the modified bootloader using EDL Tool's unlock option because the original bootloader will be backuped. Since you have already unlocked, the fastboot application won't unlock it again, neither will it erase your data. But the modified bootloader can't boot stock system above Android 9 normally, so use it only when you want to flash a image.
I managed to apply Magisk on both Android 10 and 11.
Method. Backup boot.img from Android 10 / 11. Use Magisk app to patch the boot.img and flash it via EDL.
Here is my Android 11 + Magisk boot.img - Backup your own first before you flash this one and do it on your own risk. When I find time, I will create full EDL files with Android 10 and 11 featuring Magisk.
Sorry, but I have same questions here:
Hi, I had already tried to root my device according to the instructions from flymetothemoon, which unfortunately I haven't been able to do so far.
I already unlocked my bootloader under version 1.8, i.e. Android 9. Another unlock is no longer possible. I get the error message from fastboot:
FAILED (remote: ' Device already : unlocked!')
fastboot: error: Command failed.
The EDL tool still created the backups of the boot images. I wanted to copy this images into the system, but unfortunately the device got stuck in a bootloop after the restart.
I found a way to patch the boot images on the PC with Magisk. I used the latest version of Magisk for this. I was also able to flash the patched boot images via fastboot and then restore the backed up boot images in the EDL.
After the restart, however, the device goes back into the bootloop.
To be honest, the last step is not entirely clear to me. The patched images are flashed and then I restore the original boot images. Am I misunderstanding something?
And I got my A10Pro to charge again, so this is fantastic news! Miss root more than anything else out there.

Bricked? Post your thoughts!

Hello guys!.
I have a weird case of brick on my Realme X2 pro Global.
I unlocked the bootloader and changed to TWRP, but restoring back to stock UI2.0, I can't enter to fastboot.
I manage to enter to recovery by using adb reboot recovery, but adb reboot bootloader or fastboot doesn't work.
I was able to enter to download mode by entering recovery and tapping the 1.2 ver, and the PC picked up as a QHUSB, installed drivers but I'm stuck finding a flasher.
I'm currently in Android 10 C.37.
The bootloader is unlocked because that's what it says on developer mode (unlocked and is greyed out)
Is there a way to flash a recovery in the stock recovery?, Since I've unlocked bootloader I think I should be able to I guess.
Another though is that there's an screen appear bootloader but reboots in half a second to the OS again (Android works fine).
If I keep pressing VOL down, the phone keeps rebooting itself many times but not picked by PC.
Any suggestions or thoughts will be helpful!.
Thanks!
