Galaxy A6s, SM - G6200 (google problem) - Samsung Galaxy A6 Questions & Answers

Hello.
This problem is... hard to resolve.
I bought , maybe the last relase from Samsung (SM - G6200) in China. I like the phone in general, nice looking, good hardware... I didn't know that I will be unable to install google manually. Cant find any international or western firmware, anywhere. I'm not shure can I use some other firmware except for SMG6200. First, when I login to my google account it's not recgonize my new phone, only recgonize my old phone (Galaxy S6) I did the factory reset on my old phone.. so When I open playstore website on my new phone, and want to install some app, cant do it because it give me the option "Install" and then, when I click, shows me my devices and only my old device and ofc cant install. For some apps, like facebook or some other apps its says its already installed on this devices and its not. If I login with another account its just says "you dont have any devices". To be more wierd, if I , like right now wanna download google play services, it says that I dont have any devices (since Im using my new google account) but also says the google play services are installed. But if I dont have any devices where is it installed? First that account/playstore download problem. Now, I tried to download everything manually. Google framwork, google play services, google calendar and there was one more thing as I remember to install to run google play app.. but not, just says google serivices or google play store has stopped working.
What to do? I dont even know where to start anymore.

hi any solition ??? i have the same phone no language no root no playstore

Can I send me the international version of the Samsung G6200 firmware?

Samsung Galaxy A6s (Chinese ROM)
Hi everyone!
All of you can download stock frimwares from here:
sammobile.com/firmwares
I had some issues with a Samsung Galaxy A6s (SM-G6200) bought in China, cause i'm in china right now. And i'm trying to flash an international stock ROM on it, A600FNXXU3BSC5 for Spain, cause there was no US version and i'm native spanish speaker.
gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_a6s-9352.php
Mostly because i want a global rom on it to use Google Play and services....
But, it is impossible to boot in download mode to tray to flash it with Odin, not event pressing both volume keys at the same time an connecting de USB cable, or volume dawn + power button, nor any other button combination.
I've already tried with ADB commands to unlock the bootloader without positive results, and downloading the CROM app from apkmirror and the app refuse to install.
I bought it yesterday in a physical store, so, i think i could try asking for a refund, but i need a cellphone, there is any chance to flash it with a global rom or as an alternative (that i don't like) install Google apps and make it work properly? Please help me!

Aint it pretty sketchy buying a Korean Samsung phone in China, where Samsung clones are quite prevelant? Only thing I can think of why you're having issues with stock rom..
You can check whether your Samsungs legit or not with this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo
Good luck

I've got a full refund for that Samsung A6s! It was made totally in China for a Chinese company and branded as Samsung, so, legit but unflashable.
Now i bought a XIaomi Mi8 Lite (Youth in China) and waiting 15 days to my bootloader unlock approve.
Then i'm going to flash the Global Stable version ROM.
PD: If somebody is planning to buy a cellphone in China and then flash it, the best option is a Xiaomi Mi8 Youth, it allows to unlock the bootloader, you just have to wait 15 a few days, and you have official stable global roms.
Thks!

anyone have combination rom for this ? or eng firmware?

[Q] No Google Play on LG Phone bought in China

Hi there. Real android noob here.
I've been living in China for a few months now and bought a LG Optimus 4X HD here, and it didn't come with any GApps or whatever google related. I downloaded a Play Store .apk and installed on the phone (which has a 3rd party chinese appstore) but it crashes the second I open it. I did manage to install some other apps like Google Maps from another Chinese App Store (Baidu), but the Play Store from there doesn't work either...
I tried to do a lot of research but felt I'd have to post a new topic anyway since I'm completely lost. Help! Should I root? I read some about it but it's still a little confusing about all the firmware stuff. I currently have a Chinese Unicom v10d.
I'm going back to Brazil in a few months, so if I rooted and installed a brazilian firmware for now, will it work fine when I go back?
try to change the firmware

use kdz installer and install brazilian firmware. You don't need root get kdz flash working. Rather kdz flash removes root. My recomendation 1> kdz flash using latest brazilinan firmware (ingnore warning after kdz flash) 2> root and enjoy.
Yes changing the firmware will do the job (Never heard an android device without play store), but mainly try installing playstore app from the link I provided to you
PS Check is it a real 4X HD device
---------- Post added at 11:52 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:49 AM ----------
For a real android noob I wont recommend you flashing the firmware (READ THE TUTORIAL MULTIPLE TIMES)
OK! I'm downloading the brazilian firmware here and its taking an eternity, so a few more quick questions maybe?!
- I read that the Brazilian v10c (which would be the latest brazilian firmware) is unrootable. I don't care about that if the phone worked normally (as in, with gapps and everything) after the kdz flashing. I didn't understand if the rooting is necessary after the firmware change?
- Also, I'm still staying in China for a couple more months; I can use the brazilian firmware here (or any other) here with no problems right? Will my 4X think I'm in Brazil and act as in roaming (as I read somewhere in this forum happened?)
And yeah, apparently newer phones in China are not coming with anything Google related... no Google account, no Google apps, etc, because of their relationship these past year... I did try that exact link you gave me, but it just crash on start (it is installed). I wasn't the only one with that, but couldn't find a solution
v10c is rootable, i dont think that Brazilian version is exeption (try and tell us)
There is no need to root the device (the firmware) working the device normally, and I forgot that China has problems with Google so yes this must be chineese version of some firmware
Although you can try v10c I will recomend you v10h, It works best for me, try different firmwares anyway, cause with v10h I got best battery result
AW: [Q] No Google Play on LG Phone bought in China
V10c is only rootable with Ota, which you won't get with a Chinese device.
Have you tried to flash a gapps package? (http://goo.im/gapps)

[Q] How can I force my Galaxy Note 4 to recognise my gearVR

Hi,
I have a Samsung Note
model: SM-N910F
Snapdragon
NOT an AT&T phone.
Before the arrival of GearVR I downloaded to my Samsung Note from the Play store the "Quick Shortcut Maker" then launched "VRSetupWizardStub"
Now I have the Oculus software installed and registered. Already downloaded the movie player, several games, and movies from the Oculus environment.
I received my GearVR and connected it to the Galaxy Note. The Oculus software is supposed to launch once connected to the Note but nothing happens.
(The volume is turned up. There are no apps running in the background.)
I'm lost. Any help would be appreciated.
I personally had the same issue and I have a rooted t-mobile phone. What I did was update the phone to the latest firmware using kies. After that, it finished the installation once connected to the Gear VR.

I had the same issue. You have to physically maneuver the device ALL of the way onto the VR port. Play with it a little and it should work.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using XDA Free mobile app
If you're current on firmware then make sure that the jack in the VR is pushed into the phone completely, I found since it is on a spring sometimes it will not seat all the way.
If you are using custom ROMS you need to install AEL Kernel in order to be able to use Gear VR.
I'm running Gear VR without issues under FireKat V9 and AEL Kernel Version 7.2
Cheers!
If you download the gearvr sdk from oculus website inside zip is a few apks install anyone and and click open after install. It will force gearvr setup. I did this before I got my gearvr

Hi Rayan!
as a newbie I have a plenty of question, but first of all: what if I update an original firmware with kies? I'm hungarian and my unlocked (910F with NJ4 fmw) note 4 cant find any update. But at sammob there are 3 different fmws, with NK4.
First question: (im a newbie - again) Are there any provider data in the firmware - I mean will my phone will be unlocked after an update as well? Silly question maybe.
Another one: Can I try a german firmware? Is there english language avaible? 'cos only germans has a Lollipop update (is it worth it?)
AND A MOST IMPORTANT: Will my gear VR work with NK4 or OB4 original firmwares?
if not, I have to use a custom ROM, as I see, as U mentioned.
Thanks for replies!

You are right! It forces the setup, but not a firmware update! Works only IF your provider has an update. Otherwise it says "There are no updates avaible" - still stucked. Same for me too.

Have you tried to use this German NK4 ROM and then flash AEL Kernel?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/n910f-custom-rom-t2941006
But before you do anything don't forget to backup your current setup with TWRP.
But most importantly, you need to make sure you increase your knowledge from newbie to a more comfortable level, please read everything in regards of your particular Note 4 model BEFORE you do anything.
Don't rush things.... Learn, learn, learn, it's not that hard to make it work, but first you need to understand about TWRP, ROMS, Kernels and such.
Good luck!

Supposedly it should work since that setup should meet the Gear VR requirements, unless that German rom developer removed the Gear VR services (unlikely). It won't hurt to try, especially if you make sure you TWRP backup your current setup in case you need to rollback.
Good luck

Success!
Finally done. If U have an european 910F note 4, U can force your note 4 to recognize VR. But there are a plenty of things to do before..
1. Root your phone!
- Use twrp method - google it, first hit with talkative domain name IMportant to use ODIN 3.07!
2. Backup EFS, I used this one: EFS☆IMEI☆Backup, and backup current firmware in twrp
3. Download a note4 firmware from sammobile, I tried several ones, but software downloading and connecting to oculus worx only with a german lollipop (only lollipop in list)
4. Flash with ODIN, followed description of sammobile
It worked for me. I'm from Hungary, with Vodafone.

Hoping to flash my SM-N9208 Note 5 with another official ROM

Im not sure if anyone has the answer to this...
I happened to be in Taiwan at the weekend when the Note 5 launched.
I visited an official concession at a department store where I had the opportunity to ask the salesman a few questions. He assured me that the model (N9208), would be the same one that would be launching in the Philippines (where I live). I took his word for it and purchased the phone. I had the opportunity to visit a Samsung store today to find that the software (keyboard etc) is very different on the Philippines version (still an N9208)!
I love the phone but English (UK) is my first language and the Philippine version supports it much better than the Taiwanese version. The handwriting pad is the most noticeable difference as it is set up for inputting characters as opposed to writing sentences...
I was hoping to change this; N9208ZTU1AOH3_N9208ZZT1AOH3_BRI
to this; N9208XXU1AOGE_N9208OLB1AOGF_XTC
I was hoping to keep it as official as possible.
Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.
Why do people do this? Buy a phone that's not for a region they live in cause they "can't wait" or some other excuse? If I want a phone for the US, I'm not going to go to the UK to get it......

Ok, nvm LOL. Didn't think of it that way, forgot there is no UK launch for Note 5.
No custom ROMs (or even root) yet, I believe -- but I'm a Note 4 user and I sometimes use Google's own handwriting keyboard in place of Sammy's solution. It installs as an alternate keyboard.
I find that It works best when paired with Google's own keyboard. Both should be available to download on your device since Google now releases their apps on a stand-alone basis (i.e. it won't replace your stock Sammy keyboard).
Hope that helps while you wait for a custom ROM.

Thank you. I have been using Stylus Beta from the Play store in the meantime. The google one was great but I have found writing sentences much more fluid with the stylus app. I recommend checking it out!

just flash it with odin...they are compatable.......all the firmware for n9208 will flash no problem
youve given me an idea to do it now ,,,,i have same problem
just curious why you picked xtc firmware
Hi, the firmware I picked is from the Philippines. English is widely spoken, especially in business etc so it's the best bet for full English support of the N9208 I believe. I think the firmware I picked is the carrier free version although I need to double check.
I'm very tempted to use Odin but my only holdup is Knox. Samsung pay is launching imminently and I would hate to miss out if my phone becomes unofficial!
Any idea if it would be effected?

Yes, you need to enable 'OEM unlock' before you can flash with Odin. Same happened on my N920C when i tried to flash a custom kernel: always failed until I changed the OEM unlock.

Don't think this have anything to do with it as i remember seeing that on my Galaxy S6 as well.
Could you try to flash another compatible software? I had the same problem once with my S6 which was LUX, tried to flash a firmware from the Netherlands on it and would fail as well, but then tried a French one and it flash without problems.
Or you might want to go look if there's a solution in the Galaxy S6 (and Edge) forums. I wasn't the only one with that problem but since I could flash the French firmware i've never bothered to further look into it.

Which firmwares have you tried flashing on your N9208 ? I was gonna try to flash the N920T firmware on my N9208. I have a t-mobile sim in my N9208 and I want wifi calling and the new t-mobile video calling feature.
I only tried n9208 firmwares on sammobile... Malaysia... Philippine... and some unknown ones
never thought trying others...
could others be used safely?
I just wanted to change keyboard because chinese characters keep coming up!

the one that fails is the modem I dont know why ,maybe if someone could provide as with a flashable modem zip (of n920c for example) would be great.
To change just the system
I unziped the firmware of the n9208 then I replaced the cache.img and system.img with the ones of a n920c rom.
then build up the tar file and flashed with odin. Rooted and flashed TPWR after.
everything works except nfc probable from the baseband that is different.
Thats why I am asking of a flashable modem..
Tried Dr.Ketans rom also but I lost signal.

Hi, I have same model from Taiwan, 64Gb version I bought from ebay.
What I did was install CROM from the Samsung app store to enable installation of customer roms. Then you have to go to developers options and enable OEM Unlock and USB Debug.
Then you flash CF-Autoroot via Odin. I installed a different version since I didn't find one that matched my phone version and I had no problems.
If you cannot find CROM in the Samsung app store, google the apk and install it.
To enable Developer option, go to settings > General and tap multiple times the software version, or something there, I don't remember very well which one, but you will see a counter saying something like "tap X more times to enable developer menu."
I hope it works for you, too.

Here is the links from my Google Drive:
CF-Autoroot: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3xPBTglKzZ1cVB1TDNmOGN4Yms
Note 5 CROM: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3xPBTglKzZ1Z2czTlo0NUV1ck0
CROM comes in Taiwanese, just install and open it. I did this a year ago, so I don't remember if you have anything like "Accept" and "Decline", maybe yes, but I don't know how to read that in Taiwanese.
Good luck mate! Hope you don't have any issues, I didn't have any. BTW, although CROM won't kill knox, CF-Root will certainly do it.
Cheers!
