How to clear cached data for Honor Play - Honor Play Questions & Answers

Ever since the new system update, I found that I could not clear my cached data like before anymore. Before the update, u could simply press clean up in the storage settings to clear but now the clean up button is gone. Is anyone facing the same problem? Or did anyone manage to find a way to clear the cached data? Pls comment down below.

When the phone is off, press minus and power button?

what I mean is like there used to be a "clean up" button in the storage settings where u can press to clear your cached data. Now the button is gone and I don't know how to clear my cached data anymore

That was removed from recent Android versions because there is little to none benefit from clearing cache from apps, and because system takes care of it itself.

boot in eRecovery... eRecovery have 3 button, Rebbot system, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache
power off phone, press&hold vol+, press power on button, phone vibrate one, release power button but press vol+, phone show honor power on logo, release vol+, phone boot in eRecovery

That's not the same. That is clearing cache partition, and app caches are on data partition, if I remember correctly.

[Q] Nexus One Recovery then clear dalvik cache

I am new to these boot menu.
I was told, clearing Dalvik cache may help clearing up some of the unused cache so I wanted to give it a try.
I was then told the procedure is like this:
1. turn off the phone
2. press vol down and press power once to get into the menu
3. choose recovery using vol down key and press power to choose it
But when I did all these steps, it goes to the N1 boot logo and then a screen with a "!" and an android and stopped. Is this normal?
I was told it is supposed to give me a menu to choose choose "wipe cache partition" then i can reboot your phone again (even though it may be a bit slower).
Anyone nice enough to give me a walkthrough?
Many thanks.
Once you see that ! With triangle around it hold power and hit volume up and it should take You to recovery

[Q] Does anyone know the key combination of entering recovery mode?

Does anyone know the key combination of entering recovery mode?
Okay ours is a bit weird. With phone off hold power and volume down. When lg logo appears release power and press again. It'll bring up confirmation dialog on a factory reset. Ignore that and hit yes both times. It'll bring up a screen saying authorizing factory reset and then after a moment will boot into your custom recovery. Enjoy

[Q] 5.0 OTA, and other stuff.Fastboot

Hi everyone,
I was so glad to received 5.0 OTA yesterday, and install it immediately (version 22.21.11 after updated). But I experienced a lot of problems, so I went to Moto and they tell me to perform a partition wipe. Here is the thing, after I follow their operation tips, my phone won't show me the secret menu, so I can't perform partition wipe, and my phone just keep doing some weird things like killing the background apps. Most frustrating thing is that I cannot even launch the camera using the magic twisting gesture!
Anyone can get into the secret menu under the recovery mode? I don't want to unlock my bootloader yet. Thx
update: after google for a while, there is a new way to find the secret menu according to shamelin73

What do you mean " secret menu?"
The recovery list?

yeah! the menu to let me do the partition wipe... I press Vol UP key for several seconds and press power key, nothing happened.
When I boot into fastboot I use vol. Up+Down and power for 3-5 seconds.

Get to your boatloader first, select the recovery tab. Once the android comes up with "no command"
Push the power button first, while doing that, press the volume up.
That'll put you into recovery.
(You don't have to hold the power button for a few seconds...it just has to be pushed first)

[Q] Does everything get restored when you do a hard factory reset/restore?

Talking about the hard reset method:
How to hard reset a Sony Xperia Z3
Turn the phone off.
Press and hold the volume up and down buttons simultaneously.
Then press and hold the power key (while you are still holding the volume up and down buttons).
The device will enter Recovery Mode, release the buttons once this happens.
You can navigate up and down with the volume keys, while the power button can be used to select an option.
Select the “Wipe Data/Factory Reset” option and then press “Yes”.
After that, simply press on the “Reboot system now” option.
Your phone will restart and be ready for action!

Say I delete the "stock" pictures/videos that came with the phone. Will they be restored if I do a hard reset as mentioned in the quote above?

Locked Phone

My daughters Motorola X 2nd Gen (XT1095) seems to be locked. When you touch the screen all that shows is the time and a padlock. If you try and slide the padlock up, down or to the left or right the date shows at the top and the battery shows but it will not proceed.
Can anyone tell me what may be happening and how to fix it?
Thanks
I would first hold down the power until it turns off. It sounds like a restart is in order

Restarted it several times, results are the same, still locked.
Sorry to hear that. I didn't see it in your post so I started with square one troubleshooting.
How about rebooting to recovery and trying to wipe the cache?

Did all that and still same, I noticed that when it comes up in the boot mode (holding down the vol button) that one of the items listed says "Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0

That just means the bootloader is locked. It has nothing to do with the problem you're having. Try a factory reset if wiping caches didn't work.

Get the phone to the bootloader. Open a cmd on your computer and type MFASTBOOT ERASE USERDATA. that'll factory reset it for you.
