So finally i got my Mate 20 PRO, and i am excited to try it for games. But i cannot download any apps from google playstore. My internet connection is stable and good. I wonder why i can't download any apps on google playstore. I tried clearing the cache of Playstore and play services. I also tried resetting the phone and nothing new happened. Can someone help me? Thanks.
What other applications have you got?
With my last phone the mate 9, I installed apkpure, then for a few days nothing would download or update. I couldn't even download a image from Google. I tried everything, then I thought I would uninstall recently added applications. As soon as I removed apkpure everything started running fine again.

i know the 101 error is a common problem after flashing ics roms on galaxy nexus.
yesterday i flashed a new ics rom (teamhacksung build 16 to 17), which went smoot as always at first.
after signing in to my gmail account, it automatically downloaded some of my previously installed apps (even so i didn't want it to).
anyway, that was the last download from the market so far. every time i try to install an or update an app, it says "error downloading ..... error -101".
i tried the suggested sollutions, signing out and back in, clearing cache, remove update, even flashed back to build 16.
so far nothing helped.
weird thing which is probably related to the problem:
when i go to https://play.google.com/store/account i got 2 devices there, both sgs i9000. i just own one.

i somehow managed to fix it for me.
i'm not sure if this is reproducible, but:
- i cleared the cache and uninstalled the update of the market app
- i logged in to another googlemail account, then switched to this one in the market properties.
- after switching back to my original gmail account everything worked as intended
I too had this error after i updated my ROM to the latest version. I managed to fix it but i'm not sure if it would work for you

-Enter Google Play
-Sign in with the Google Account

Hey got some updates about error 101. I have a rooted xperia play. First my encounter with this error started after downloading Brothers in Arms. In consistently gave me the error whenever I download any apps more than 24 hours,
tried logging to another gmail account, clearing cache, changing 3g to wife but nothing works. Then I realized that I've froze and uninstalled some bloatwares/pre-installed apps on my xperia, I have titanium back up (free ver) for unistalling and system cleaner for freezing apps. So I restored everything (not resetting to factory default), reboot my phone, then tried to download apps again, and it went back to normal, I was able to download apps again.
The only question here is which of the pre-installed apps that I blocked that cause the 101 error... Hope this helps, I'll try to see which app it is.

I don't really think that is the case. Cause I have a fresh instal and it gave me this error. Of course, there may be a chance that a file for corrupted while flashing though. And its probably google talk or something. That's one of them that manages the play store from what I remember.

1> Go to Menu > Settings > Accounts & Sync
2> Select Google account > Click menu >> Select Remove Google
3> Add your Google account again

Whenever I try and update or install apps on the new play store it crashes. When I uninstall the update it updates it back to 5.3.6. Anyone else having this issue?

Yeah, having the same problem with my HTC Evo 3D (Android 4.0.4). Updated from Play Store 5.2.x to 5.3.6 and have just the same issue. Tried uninstalling 5.3.6, tried 5.3.5, tried old 5.2.x from before - even there is the same problem now. I also uninstalled Play Services and tried different versions and deleted and readded my Google account from settings. Nothing helped at the moment.
OP - Install update, then go to apps and clear cache and data, then open the store and try ...
So Finally rooted my Xperia Z1 5.1.1. But the problem is that I uninstalled the Play Store to install the latest version as it was not auto updating. And it is not working properly. As soon as I click accept to install something, the play store crashes. I have tried to uninstall it and reinstall but nothing worked out. Please suggest what should i do as soon as possible.
Try to install play store then force stop. Clear data and cache from settings and try again?

Here are my Google Play Store and Play Services. If just installing doesn't work you could try to install it through an app like Lucky Patches. Hope it works .

I am now trying to install the Google apps. First way to try was downloading the Google installer v2 and let it run. Then I ended up in a loop where the Google apps stop responding repeatedly every some seconds. I then tried to factory reset and start from scratch. Same issue. I then updated the Google play store and play services from apk mirror. Now the error message is gone, but I still end up with an unusable play store.
It shows checking info now and is stuck at that stage. I tried emptying all cache and data. Doesn't help.

I had to flash a dev china fastboot rom android 6 based .
Installed the 6 apks to enable google play services used them and updated them ... They auto update ( google playstore and google play services for sure) .
After all that was done i ota updated to miui based on android 7 and everything worked fine since the google play services were already there.
Thank you sir. That's what i did as well now. Luckily they gave me permissions to unlock the phone by now so i was able to flash the latest global rom which seems to work better with Google apps

I also have the same problem but for me to try and fastboot the phone says i need to unlock but i am just getting the run around. How do i flash the ROM when this happens?

i use lucky patch and install mod playstore.
Update latest miui rom it fixed..
Can confirm this. Running latest global dev rom with Magisk now.

Thats great for you BUT many of us are just not that skilled nor have we the opportunity to invest in all that is required in learning the skills for TWRP, Magisk and flashing ROMs etc.
Nothing offical from Xiaomi despite daily searches online by me...[can anyone confirm different???].

It worked perfectly fine until a month ago I discovered play store didn't updated itself since long time. It was stuck in "waiting for wifi". Only already installed apps could be updated. I tried allowing mobile data, clear caches and data from play store and Google play service, downloading updates manually for them both. But all in all it didn't help. Yesterday I tried force stop "google services framework" on an internet advice and that was stupid. Practically bricked play store "error retrieving data from server ［RH-01］"
Atm I trying other Chinese Google installers.

yeah that advice on the internet is common, but only solves if you wanna download via mobile data.
at the mean time i installed goplaycn. it seems to be the latest successful installer on the chinese market and looks pretty professional. It has even a deinstall google function.
here the list of the gapps version what it will download for you today:

i tried the manual updates and it didnt work. After checking goplaycn again I noticed an entry note. it says "for mi5 user who got stuck in checking info ... please enable in your google account installing less secure apps". I did it and it wouldnt work either or i misunderstood there something.
Anyway i found a pretty interesting thread on the chinese MIUI forum. The thread handles exact our problem on the same device and the thread was posted in march this year.
The solution is you have to root your phone and enable "setenforce permissive" and then use a chinese google installer.
Unfortunately it is completly in chinese http://www.miui.com/thread-7561698-1-1.html
i havent tried it myself, but apparently it has been successfully tested by many ppl. i will do it later maybe.

Problem Is From "host" File
Do It:
1.Root Via SuperSU SR5
2.Use Some Root Browser App Like Root Explorer,Or ES File Explorer
3.Go To /system/etc/host Delete "host"
4.Reboot
Your Problem Is Fixed Now!

Good morning I have an Honor Play and when I get in to the play store to install Instagram it says that my device isn't compatible with that version. How can that be possible? Working fine on mine too.
Try restarting the phone.
The day I bought the phone, and downloaded PUBG, its downloading went into loop, it completed and then started again and again. I cancelled the download and next day, when I tried to install it, it installed normally. I think this is a bug may be in play store or something else.
