Woooow... You're a Beast man, didn't expected this.... Samsung Exp on Op6, wat da hack?... Thanks

Noice dude

Waiting for Samsung One UI now

Any love for the 6t port coming?

?????

how do you manage all the ROMs? no disrespect but some of your ROMs were left with bugs just like the Pixel 3 XL port. no development for that after MIUI 10 was released. does that mean that MIUI 10 will now be abandonded because you are now working on this Samsung port, what's next EMUI?

Thank you so much for your efforts
Hats off to you literally..
. I really wish you find the brightness fix. ?

Pixel 3 XL Port was abandoned because You can use Havoc and other AOSP roms without bugs and get same UI etc.
MIUI 10 Pie and 6T Port will be updated every time new security patch comes out. (Not on day one). Soon I will release MCLaren Port for OP6 and MIUI 10 Pie Global update.

You can disable Auto Brightness, change screen off timer to 10 minutes and then use Automate brightness profiles to set brightness to any level You want. It's a temporary fix. I tried using SEx with it and.. it wasn't actually that bad :silly: It's like changing brightness but on home screen instead of notification bar.

@ProtoDeVNan0
Which phone's samsung experience is used? S9/S8/N9?

This thread should be advertise in XDA news.
This is evolution of porting. This dude made lot of other devs noob.

@ProtoDeVNan0
Man, you are a machine!
What dou you think, would you be able to fully port the OOS cam to work on other custom ROM's?
I mean not only the app works, but get the same photo results. On custom ROM's, the software use a different processing, not the one tuned by Oneplus.
I believe it is hardcoded somewhere in OOS framework.
I would really like to replace the OOS, but all the custom ROM's has very bad camera quality.
This is why I liked the Codename Phoenix on OP5.

Nice work man!

The dev is doing all this "FREE", he could also charge you if he wanted to, again he is sharing his completed or uncompleted projects for "FREE". If you have an issue with one of the ROMs, move on to another ROM, this ROM isn't cater to you only.

I tried booting on that rom but after the bootloader warning, it gets to the dumpcrash or something no matter the kernels I have flashed so far

AMAZING! When you are able to fix the notch and the brightness is fixed, I am for sure gonna try this rom out. The Samsung CAMERA works too! Great Job! Also, yeah what phone is this samsung experience version from?

What works:
WiFi
Sound
Fingerprint scanner
Probably even more, just haven't tested everything yet.
What doesn't work/Bugs:
Brightness is always 100% (Someone contact OP and tell them to change vendor or kernel stuff to work with different amount of brightness levels)
If anyone wants, You can change brightness with terminal command that You can find in my Pixel 3XL Port Thread.
How to Install:
Flash Stock OOS Oreo in TWRP (preferably twice)
Boot into fastboot and use my rom flasher. It will do everything automatically. (Just run bat file and that's it!)
Boot into TWRP (Yes, You need TWRP that works with Oreo so go to twrp.me and get 3.2.2.0 version)
Mount Vendor
Flash Patch1 in TWRP.
### OPTIONAL ###
Flash Magisk
Flash OpenGapps

Done! Reboot and enjoy!

Well. I planned to release MIUI 10 and FlymeOS but they just don't want to boot no matter what I do. So for now only Nubia and ZUI 10.
I also have a dream of booting Samsung Experience One UI on OP6 but Samsungs security is insane lol.

Nice work! Do you know if your ports will also work on the 6t as the phones have nearly identical specs? (expect for the fingerprint scanner I guess)

I wanted to start a bounty for MIUI for some extra motivation in porting, but don't know the correct route to set this up
I'm not a porter, but I do have a fair experience in Linux, so I might be able to help testing/debugging?
Cheers for this port, I'm definitely gonna test this later on!

Color OS would be probably bugless on our OP6 since it's made by Oppo but Oppo uses weird ozip files that can't be extracted. If someone has Oppo (the one without a notch or some latest one) send me a system.img dump and I should be able to port it.

I found a couple of A to A/B guides that didn't work so.. I had to make my own .
It's pretty simple. Just extract stock oos and inside system_root folder replace system folder with the one from some A only rom. And that's it. Repack and flash.
Some roms will reboot into fastboot or recovery though. When that happens. You need to modify selinux (miui, flyme) and then it should go to boot animation but I haven't been able to go through keymaster problem on roms with modded selinux. So just try to port roms that show boot animation without any selinux modifications. Mi Mix 3 selinux does work for example on OP6 but it just bootloops and enabling logcat doesn't work. It might be because Mi Mix 3 is using "A/B/C partitioning" (that's how I call it . It's just a/b with recovery partition etc)

They will only if 6T has Oreo firmware available. But if 6T came out with Pie then they won't. Sorry.

Working is a lot faster without testers most of the time :silly:. It's because I can test my builds(and there can be like 500-1000 builds before something boots) immediately once they are built and if something doesn't work then I can just change it and rebuild and try again. And with testers, I'd have to upload the rom first, then wait couple of hours for the tester to have some free time and then I'd have to make another build. It would just take ages.
And bounty isn't needed.. at least not for me. If some other Dev can port MIUI 10 then sure but for me only getting MIUI 10 to boot would be enough.

the reason i stay with OOS is the camera quality that is far better in stock

These ports are using OOS system_root and OOS stock kernel.
In theory all roms should have same camera quality because of separate vendor partition but I'm guessing that OOS system has some camera libs too. So that could be the reason why AOSP roms might have worse camera quality. Because they're missing these extra libs. But it's just a theory. I haven't looked at camera mechanism in OOS.

Well! Last night I managed to get some progress with MIUI 10 Pie. Logcat finally works. And it's actually pretty clean. Now I just have to figure out how to fix "displayfeature" and it should boot I hope. I already made a vendor patcher for MIUI but it doesn't include all files that are used by displayfeature so I'll have to reverse engineer some libs and see which ones have to be ported to OP6 vendor. (That takes time btw, and Christmas is coming soon so don't expect me to do it overnight lol. Unless I'll be lucky and it will happen overnight but let's be realistic )

Been a while since I've been so eager for a rom to release
Idc if it takes you a long while, IMO this is worth waiting for.
Thanks for porting Nubia os.I saw that you can't extract the ozip.
That is because OPPO encrypted it,so you can't make it.
There is chinese blog which offers the tool and method to transform a ozip into a zip.Hope this may help you.

Well.. I didn't have much success with booting MIUI 10 Pie yet.. And it seems like only mid end Xiaomi phones have no MIUI security stuff. Images from high end Xiaomi phones don't want to boot.
I'm working on MIUI 10 Pie too but for now MIUI 10 Oreo is better than nothing .
And I'm trying to fix NFC now, I already added NFC files etc to system but NFC settings don't appear in Settings app. Will try more things though.

It's a part of Mi Account so only stock theme works. I'll try to find some way to fix Mi Account though. Unless it checks some low level values that can't be faked.
Edit: MIUI Themes might work, someone said to use MIUI Theme Editor App.

It's a Miui port, so probably neither. It's a very customized OS.
On Xiaomi phones, kernels for AOSP don't even boot Miui, and vice versa.

Yes You can.
1. Flash OxygenOS Oreo
2. Wipe data in TWRP (don't format)
3. Edit my flasher scripts and remove "-w" from every command
4. Run Flasher
5. Flash WiFi Fix
6. Reboot.
Later I'll add update flashers and flashers that don't wipe internal storage.
Cool! I thought we will never have MIUI on our OP6.
The procedure is a bit impractical now. I hope it will change. But good to see miui rom in op6

Nougat.. Nope. Our bootloader, kernel, vendor won't work with it. But I am working on MIUI 10 Pie. I'm pretty close to getting it to boot but yeah, with this MIUI I was close to getting it to boot for like 3 months lol. With every port I'm getting more and more experience so that helps too.

Also, perhaps you could try and take a look at HitoLiu's MIUI port for the OnePlus 3. He got the alert slider working and maybe you could reuse most of his code to fix the slider for the OP6.

He also made 5T builds that probably would work even better on OP6 than OP3 builds. I'll check them out, try to boot them etc, but I'm not sure if reusing someone's code isn't kinda like stealing.. I'd rather want to ask him for permission first.

Additional to this post, fxsheep used some permissiver in his treble port to allow the use of a MIUI account, maybe that something you can use as starting off point?

Permissiver only changes selinux to permissive and I already changed selinux to permissive. Fxsheep tried it on Xiaomi device so that's why it probably works for him. Also, I'll try to apktool edit smali code of Mi Account app to not check for HW values or tell it to check for some other value that exists in all devices etc. (Kinda similar to knox faking in samsung devices)
Okay! So here's this new update!
Changelog:
Enabled colour settings for notification LED
Corrected some typos
Added better notch support (Icons don't get covered by the notch)
Modified device config files to better match OP6 specs (OLED, 3300mAh battery etc)
Added CUST partition files
Added new flasher that doesn't format data (Make sure to wipe data in TWRP though)
Added some NFC stuff to system (try using Google Pay and see if it works now, or some NFC reader app)
Download:
MIUI 10 Port for OnePlus 6 Flasher 1.1 - AFH
Until a new MIUI 10 Security Patch comes out. I'll be working on MIUI 10 Pie.

VBMeta Disabler + TWRP Backup.
OneUI AOD works!
All Samsung Apps work!
Night Mode works!
Themes, Wallpapers, Ringtones work!
Full Screen Gestures work!
Stock Kernel for best stability.
And more!
Samsung Account Temporary Fix: Create new account and it should log You in.
Once You set up WiFi connection go to keyboard settings and download any language, to avoid getting NULL keyboard
So.. here it is everyone! OneUI! Now, why am I posting a buggy build? Well, I wanted to wait with OneUI release until I fix most bugs but tons of people want it and obviously not everyone is in my group so this way they will find it faster then asking everyone for my group link etc. This rom also has currently highest priority and I'm spending as much time as I can on it, to fix all bugs. I'll keep on updating other roms (don't worry). Keep in mind that currently it's just a test build and for some people it might be good enough to be used as a daily driver if they have another phone for calls, but for most it's just a build that they can flash, play with it, and wait for more updates. This rom has the strongest security ever so don't expect me to fix all bugs quickly (I mean miracles happens but still). I'm working really hard on this one. Also, no need for reporting bugs as I already have a bug list from myself and other users so yeah. Software wise it's a pretty stable build. And I'd also like to give HUGE THANKS to Guzram, he helped me a lot with OneUI and other roms so make sure to tap Thanks on his posts and PM him on Telegram @guzram and tell him Thank You! Anyway! Enjooooooy! :highfive::laugh:
What works:
Sound
WiFi
Bluetooth
GPS
DRM (YT video + audio)
Brightness (kinda)
Camera (Tested with OpenCamera)
Flashlight (Tested with Flashlight toggle)
What doesn't work / Bugs:
NFC
Alert Slider(duh?)
Auto Rotation toggle doesn't do anything so keep it disabled.
Brightness goes from 50% at the minimum to 100% very quickly so You can only use 50,75,100% within 1mm of slider length.
Vibrations
FP Scanner
AOD brightness is always 100%
RIL
Samsung Cloud has problems with logging in.
Bixby probably would work but has to be updated. (Use APKMirror and try!)
Probably more stuff. Working on fixing all bugs.
How to Install:
Make sure You're on Pie OB8 firmware! 6T users try 9.0.7 + custom kernel.
Note: Backup Your nudes before flashing the rom! It will wipe Your internal storage.
Extract the zip somewhere.
Reboot to fastboot and plug Your phone in.
Double tap on flasher_windows.bat (Don't run it as admin)
Boot TWRP
Copy OneUI Backup folder to Your TWRP/backups/... directory.
Restore OneUI.
During SetupWizard disable WiFi and skip all steps.
After finishing SetupWizard make sure to install Chrome.apk that's inside the zip or else Play Store won't work.
Done! Enjoy Your rom!
Check screenshots in attached images!

I will! I'm working on it almost every day for as many hours as I can. Today I'm going to focus on fixing camera. And after that I'll work on Fp scanner and then RIL. Or I'll let people vote in my group once camera is fixed. Just remember that fixing bugs doesn't happen overnight.. so please be patient.. I'm really trying to do my best with this rom. Sometimes bugs can be fixed quickly and sometimes they take some time..
Flashed rom and I get phone is starting optimizing app 1 of 346 all the way to 346 then the screen tuns black and it bootloops on the same message. I am on 6t but every time i try to flash a custom kernel i get error 1 in twrp. Any help?

If OP6 vendor doesn't work on 6T then I can't do much without the device.. Cause I'd have to run my patcher on 6T to patch vendor etc.
Here it is guys! Another Test Build. In this one we finally managed to fix camera and flashlight, I only tested Open Camera cause I forgot how to setup gcam. Photos have good quality and are 16mpx. So next bug that we're going to fix is RIL. This one will take some time.. I think lol.. Later once RIL is fixed I'm going to work on improving all working features.
Changelog:
Fixed Camera
Fixed Flashlight
Added lots of vendor leftovers
Improved performance a bit.
Improved battery life.
Rom generates a lot less heat now than before.
Removed Email app (can be dowloaded in Galaxy Apps probably or apkmirror) to save some space in vendor.
Download:

I looking forward to trying this on my oneplus 6 - I wonder if my Samsung gear s watch would work on this rom, I have not been able to get it working on any of the roms I tried so far

Bruh... Just let it go. Official means nothing to us end users. For devs official means they would've to dedicate themselves to that one ROM, become part of the official PE site and dev group and keep it updating even if they don't really want to. I think it means responsibility. So don't keep asking 'official when!?' for a dev is dedicated enough towards one ROM will take on official too. If not they won't.

Official doesn't mean it's stable, just a tags bruh, they can update without Official
Hey there. Tested out the other PE version here on XDA, but that bootlooped after 2 weeks of usage (apparently a problem with most custom OSes). Does this fix the bootloop issue? Havoc OS recently pushed a patch that fixes said problem

I didn't mean to be rude. Just as to know why there are two threads for the same rom.
I'll be more than happy to have any roms having no bugs at all and be unofficial rather than having bugs and be official. Peace :good:
Nice! tho fingerprint hardware becomes unavailable at times, and TWRP can read the internal memory as it becomes encrypted

Yes you can!
1. Unlock bootloader.
2. Flash recovery over fastboot mode.
3. Download rom and copy it into sdcard (not internal memory).
4. Put your device into recovery mode.
5. Flash rom from sdcard
6. Format data (factory reset).
7. Come back fastboot mode and flash vbmeta.img
8. Reboot system.
So that's, you didn't need to root your mobile.

Yes, that's right. I think this rom is the best from custom roms.
How does user update OTA with this Custom ROM if the new version is available? Must flash again and cannot do it through the phone directly?
Thanks for your detailed guide! One last request tho where can I find a compatible vbmeta.img that I can flash to avoid recovery destroyed error.
one question: how can I upgrade to this version from the previous PE such like the 17/01/2020 version by @BabluS?
@Orgasmtrron
There is this double tap to wake bug in this rom. No matter how your toggle is selected to in the settings, the Tap to Wake feature is always on. This is leading to battery drain too.
Another, can the wifi fix be incorporated? The wifi will not reconnect after switching it off, even though I have activated the option of wifi scanning and set the location to on. It still wouldn't reconnect automatically. You always have to manually turn the wifi on.
Thanks.

my questions to those testers who have tested the current official version(PixelExperience_RMX1971-10.0-20200227-0250-OFFICIAL.zip)
1) anyone tried gcam with all 4 back cameras (including macro and wide cameras) work in this rom ?
2) which version of gcam is stable for this rom?
3) is auto call recording feature available?
So far the rom is so stable, but the ram management is bad, I barely can't open 4 apps together and they load many of the times.

Personally I prefer OOS because of its stability and speed but some people like themed ROMs. And it's never a bad idea to have something different to use even if it's for a day just to see how it runs. Feels almost like having a different phone.

Android 10 Dynamic partitions and every time I change some file I have to make sure that chcon wasn't corrupted and when it was, I have to reference it to fix it.
And biggest problem with it is that there's no TWRP with proper RW support. (I'm not sure if RW dm blocks are even possible) Normally I'd just flash a zip with all mods for vendor etc in TWRP and done or just adb push/pull files until all works. Here I have to mod on PC. Flash. Boot. And repeat. Takes ages.
