Fingerprint sensor soo bad - Samsung Galaxy A6 Questions & Answers

Guys sometimes it just wont recognize my fingerprint
I have to rescan it in settings to become better
Is it a software issue or poor hardware ?

Or poor finger? ?

It works just fine for me, unless my finger is wet/sweaty or the fingerprint scanner itself is wet or has some dirt on it. Make sure to clean it once in a while since that may be the problem.

Question about moto g6 hardware - damaged finger print scanner

(solved: Decided to keep the post instead of deleting it in case someone else faces the same issue. So it was just broken scanners. Got a good one and it worked perfectly. So far no heating issue. So point is the over heating could only mean its a broken scanner and not a main board short or anything.)
So I got a used g6 with a broken screen and non working fingerprint scanner. Switched out the scanner but it gets extremely hot
and doesn't function. I'm wondering if the replacement scanner is broken or if something is wrong with the main board.
There is no other problems with the phone.
Also, I'm wondering how does android 8 handle hardware changes. Because when it was factory reset, it had the old
broken finger print sensor on it. So does android just ignore activating finger print scanner related files when its installed since it didn't detect the scanner? or
is the OS supposed to recognize the replacement scanner and make it work without any extra steps? Is there any way to tell the OS to look for hardware changes and install
needed system files? I'm looking for any expert help with this if you have clear idea what's going on. Thanks.

Fingerprint Sensor

Fingerprint Sensor unlocks with any form of contact either a fingerprint thats not even registered or by the touch of just my palm. Anyone experience this?
Nope. Mine is quite exacting and we've tested it with other fingers etc.
My P20 Pro was accurate enough to save my nose-print as a useable fingerprint.
I would suggest that your fingerprint hasn't been stored correctly and to remove all fingerprints and re-load them to see if that helps.
Ive removed google smart unlock and now it unlocks properly. Weird

Any tips for a better fingerprint recognition?

My mom was trying to register her fingerprint on my Mi9 but it was a very difficult task since the scanner couldn't detect her fingerprint. After a long time and being able to register the fingerprint, now it's near impossible for the phone to scan her fingerprint and unlock the phone. Meanwhile, my fingerprint unlocks easily almost every time, so I really don't know what's happening and how can I fix this. I'm using MIUI 10.2.26.0 EEA. I wanted to put the global beta to try, but since they won't update anymore global betas I stayed with the global EEA.
She's looking for a similar phone, but if on-screen fingerprint scanners have a problem with her fingerprint, she will have to stay with standard fingerprint scanners that she never had a problem with.
I'm currently using a screen protector, but since it works great with my fingers, I don't think that's the problem.
Are there any tips on fixing this problem or at least make it better, like finger positions or doing something with the finger before scanning, without having to change ROMs?
If it works ok with your fingers, "probably" not a sensor or rom problem.
I always register same finger twice for better reading, but if your mom's fingerprint is washed out, will never be 100% efective.

Terrible biometrics

Hey! Anyone else just really bothered by how bad the fingerprint scanner and face unlock are? Tips welcomed to make them more bearable using.
I was when I first got it. However, once peeling off the hard, clear screen protector, my fingerprint it's registered and recognizes nearly every time. Only about one in 30 fails or so.
Haven't tried face recognition. Don't really want to, as the method used is not secure.
the below seamed to work for me ... not 100%.. but far better

Easier way to do this. SETTINGS>DISPLAY>TOUCH SENSITIVITY. Enable to "Increase the touch sensitivity of the screen for use with screen protectors."
Delete your old fingerprints and redo them.

Question Proximity sensor and face ID at dark problem!?

Hi there! I recently bought Xiaomi 12 Pro Gloabl MIUI 13 and I faced really annoying problem. The proximity sensor does not work and it did not pass the test. Allays shows 5.0 at the test no mater if the sensor is covered or not. And the real problem, the big one is face ID does not work at dark, like there is no IR at all and that is great issue for me, because this makes phone completely useless for me while traveling at night.
What I red the proximity sensor is virtual instead of hardware and it makes problems and user waiting for software solution for years. OK, but what about IR camera for face ID. Is it integrated in this phone or not. I find no answer.
Planning to switch to xiaomi.eu rom hoping for fix, but...lookin for solutions with golobal rom, because I use a lot of banking apps that I`m not sure if they work wit unlocked bootloader.
There is no IR cam, just the regular one.
That's not a 12 Pro only issue, most phones behave the same in the dark.
You can however use the fingerprint, so where's the point of calling the device useless at night?

The point is, when the phone is in holder I just tap on the screen and it unlocks by face ID immediately. That`s I have used with Mi8 till now. Fingerprint of 12 Pro is very slow compare to Mi8 and mostly unlocks with second try.
Well I have to adjust to new lack of hardware, but quite expensive Xiaomi

Try to register your finger a second time as an additional finger. This could help to speed up the recognition.
I faced proximity sensor problems with my 11T Pro but the 12 Pro is working great. I use the fingerprint which for me is lightening fast. Unfortunately without the front IR sensor, no photos going to work like iPhone when it comes to face I'd.

Hi did you try to move the phone towards your hand during the test? because this movement simulates the gesture of answering a call.
Enable double tap to wake, then unlock with index finger
PS Don't use phone while travelling
