Do you mean this one?? Ya gotta be kidding me! I'm talking about a forum like every other Android device on XDA,
How about a forum that has:
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS,
GUIDES, NEWS, & DISCUSSION,
ROMS, KERNELS, RECOVERIES, & OTHER DEVELOPMENT,
THEMES, APPS, AND MODS,
and ACCESSORIES
Does anyone know why one hasn't been created yet?

It looks like your a bit lost and/or confused here so I'll do my best to help guide you a bit.
The following thread is dedicated for requesting a New Device Dedicated Area on the Forum...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660354
... Please read the first 2 posts on that thread for understanding the process itself.
If you require any further guidance/clarification on any of the processes/procedures, regarding this topic, your best bet is to Post/PM the ET Administrator @O_G (whose responsible for this) and, if needed, @MikeChannon (whose one of the XDA Administrators).
In addition, the following is the Enhanced Tag Link for the Google Pixel Slate device. It's the first step in the process of the creation of a Device Dedicated Area on the Forum.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/google-pixel-slate
I hope that I had helped you out in clarifying this process...
I wish you the best of luck!

Well as linked by Ibuprophen we have threads for the device specially tagged to keep them linked together but also to let us see if it is very popular. If it is we add a forum set if the number of threads rises to around 3 pages of threads.
Currently I see only three threads tagged. There may be more but you'll need to give us links to any threads for the device that aren't yet tagged.

Maybe @MikeChannon can close this thread to prevent questions with answers already provided as well as Post Count ones too.
Thanks a bunch!

ICQ for Windows Phone 7

Hi everybody!
I'm writing ICQ Messenger for WP7 now and have a VERY BIG ISSUE with it:
WP7 Silverlight does not support SOCKETs!!!
Does anybody know how to workaround this?
The only way I see is create a SERVICE on my home PC with static IP, that will be a link between WCF classes to communicate with WP7 Client and ICQ Server, that (to my mind) only supports Sockets...

Post in correct sections.
General/Questions etc go in the "Q&A" forum
Developments go in the "Development" forum.
This forum is named "Windows Phone 7 Development"... Where should I post if not here?

Would be best to post in the "Q&A" forum or the apps forum. This is mainly for posting of dev work.
This forum is mainly for posting of work not general discussion as then we would get all sorts of topics created here and then we will have to soft through a load of crap just to find the devs posts.
maybe there should be a board section "winp7 coding". but for my understanding developers of tools for wp7 should ask their questions here in the dev section, like the rom-chefs do. like it says, it's about developing. maybe somebody has a tip for the op and can guide him to a nice coding community manly working with wp7.

Excellent point, this.
Purely based on OP's post, there's nothing HD2-related about the issue he/she's encountered.
Unless OP has a specific reason for keeping this in the HD2 section, this thread might be better off in the general "Windows Phone 7 Software Development" section. There's almost certainly more WP7 experts browsing there.
Exactly. This is in no way related to HD2 WP7 development so shouldn't be here.
@OP
don't give too much on those ppl *****in' around. try to open a thread in wp7 development or apps and games.
perhaps there you get real help. i appreciate your attempt to make a icq client =)

i dont get it...

can someone explain this
''Please Read: New members (those with fewer than 10 posts) are not permitted to post to development-related forums. im just trying to say thanks to developers and answer things that have been question by others, maybe im just know 1 or 2 things about my phone development...but why cannot i post it...how can i post if i cant really comment on those thread?i dont get it...
There's plenty of threads about this in the "about xda" forum. If you'd read the rules then you'd know to search first and you'd have found the myriads of other closed threads about the subject.

New i-957 Forum!!!

I would like to say thanks to all those involved who got us our own development forum. This will most definitely help lessen the amount of people who will brick their devices by flashing stuff from the P7XXX series 8.9 tabs and vice versa.
My question now is: Is the new i957 forum only for development, or for all things concerning the i-957 specifically?
Thanks again!

Hi to all
This is just to remind you this is for development only.
Please do not start Question or request threads. These threads go in the general section. I will usually close these threads if posted here.
Do not ask for ETAs on Roms, it just clutters up the thread and annoys the developer.
Anything i condone as spam will be instantly deleted.
Please do not post thank you. That is what the thanks button is for.
If anybody feels a post should be a sticky, please PM me with the reasoning.
Please report any posts that are out of place, or contain questionable content. They will be dealt with quickly!
So basically please only post ROM Development, Hacks, Mods, Fixes and Tutorials in this section.
Thank you for your attention, if you have any further questions. Please feel free to PM me

How do I POST replies in DEVELOPMENT Forums?

I have an Atrix 4G and a fair bit of knowledge on it. These forums are really good, but it would be useful if I could reply to threads in the atrix development. I have answers and questions, but I don't know if I need to be approved or something like that in order to post in the forums.

Since you are past 10 posts now you should be able to post there. If it still doesn't work in a few hours, then you might ping one of the mods in that forum to take a look at your account and see if there is some issue there.
You need 10 posts to post in development forums, which you can find out more about by looking at the links in my signature.
The server only updates permissions periodically so yours may not have been changed yet, but you have the required post count.
I've had a look at your posts and you're not a typical "10 post spammer" that we see a lot of in here, which is greatly appreciated, but it's still worth a reminder about the following things.
Don't create threads in Development forums unless it's to release software. Questions go in either a relevant existing thread, or a new one in the Q&A forum (or General forum if there's no device-specific Q&A forum). And on that note, always search thoroughly before asking. Nothing irritates other members more than seeing the same questions asked over and again.
Anyway, just bare the above in mind and go enjoy the forums. I'm just glad I don't have to delete a bunch of pointless posts

Yeah man I just want to contribute. Do I need a "thanks" or something like that ?
Also can an admin "approve me" or something like that? My only other question is the five minute between post wait can that be removed? For example I'm just waiting now to send this reply, it's no big deal, just wondering.
Also I posted a thread here asking basically the same question, I don't know how to delete it, but here's a link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1783730

Nope, its not reflected by Thanks Meter. Just 10 posts is decent enough. For deleting/closing that Thread, you need to contact the Forum Specific Moderator assigned to that Forum.

At the top of each forum the mods responsible for that forum should be listed. I was suggesting to send one of them a PM, but Archer answered you here.
I got it. Thanks for the help I can post now!

New Trend of ROM Discussion

XDA is forum for Custom ROMs, Discussion, Troubleshooting, etc.
From sometime Thread OP are creating a Telegram group to discuss bugs, troubleshooting and other things, and posting the Links in OP then what is meaning of creating threads on XDA. Why XDA mods are allowing these threads. My personal opinion is all the discussions regarding the ROM or Kernel should go on thread not on other platforms.
What do other XDA members think. Share your views here to stop these practice's.

I understand what your referring to as I've seen this as well from time to time...
I had thought that there was an XDA Forum Rule(s) that restricts the sole use of the Telegram on the forum (I believe that there's more to this rule as well)
The choice of one of the following threads is probably your best bet for providing this type of feedback.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1976627
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987254
Only a Moderator/Administrator (like @MikeChannon or @Darth for example) can really provide a clear outline/understanding for this rule.
Good Luck!

There's this we put out not long ago, https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/telegram-chat-channels-forward-t3764521
Basically, no TG links should be anywhere on xda, except in post number one of a development thread, only. We realize devs may want some quick communication with members for some issues, and real time chat is obviously quick.
But no links to TG should be anywhere else on xda. :good:
Just hit report if you see links outside of the first post in a dev thread, and mods will handle it.

Thank you very much for your time with providing this valuable guidance!
Now I know more about the XDA Policy regarding this specific topic.
I am not a big fan of the Telegram being used as a primary means of support for a development and such that's posted on the Forum but, I felt that it could be an alternative tool in addition to active support on the said Developmental Thread posted.
Just my personal thoughts...

Exactly! One TG link in a dev thread op is supposed to be an optional way of communicating. Definitely never the only way. If it's found that a OP is only supporting, discussing or updating on Telegram, the thread would likely be closed if its discovered to be this way. :good:

Thank you for clearing this up.
Sometimes some user post a bug or need troubleshooting, other user guide him/her to a Telegram group for that specific thing and do not discuss it inside thread. This should not be permitted.
I think there should be strict rule regarding what is permitted to discuss outside the thread.

Just my opinion on this (and from what I understand regarding the XDA Rules)...
I believe that there can be certain circumstances with providing guidance via Telegram but, it shouldn't be the sole option for the member.
As a member myself, I actually don't use Telegram but, I have used it previously under certain circumstances that are very seldom if that.
As a developer myself, sometimes there's support/guidance that is preferred to be taken offline and, if needed, the results would be determined to be of value to other members within the thread or something that didn't.
I do personally prefer to keep most conversations on the thread as something beneficial to other members but, there has been occasions that I'd prefer to take it offline to prevent misunderstandings and confusion.
I hope that I had stated the above okay via text...
I did notice that this discussion was also continued elsewhere, and even responded to by @the_scotsman and @Weapon X as well...

I understand the want for this but lets all really be honest. Development and support has been moved off XDA for years. A forum setup just doesnt really benefit the fast paced nature of currant development. Even back when I made roms for the old Galaxy S1 the team would do all development off site. Mostly because it was a faster response time. XDA has become a staging ground for roms while everything development and learning are done in chats. Like The most popular telegram or whats app and I hear some are even using discord (not sure about that last one as it seems out of place on a gaming messaging platform but hey)
As for the rule about the link only being in the OP. Well they have been getting around that by sending PM with the links or just flat out posting the links. No one reports it so no mods see it unless they stumble upon it.
If XDA wants to remain somewhere other then a place to post rom links thy might want to figure out that IM style messaging setup sooner or later.
Darth I can tell you that thererare many roms that are only updating on telegram and only offer support there as well. Everything posted here is just the "stable" versions if you know what I mean. Long has XDA been being used as a traffic grab by many.
Just my 2cents.
Is Custom ROM safe to install in smartphones? because most of the custom ROM's soft brick the phone.
