Beta after Android Pie Released? - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

What will happen after android pie is released, can i transfer into it and remove myself from the beta or will i have to reset my phone?

Are you on the official Beta, or are you using the leaked builds?

Then you'll receive an OTA update to the official Pie release.

So if I am on a leaked built, then I have to reset my phone and get the update?

There's about a 99% chance you will have to ODIN back to an official build of Oreo to take the office Pie OTA. The only way around that is if the leak you're on just happens to wind up being the official release build, which is HIGHLY unlikely. Especially since they are already testing CSA1

I am on ZRLL (Note9 U1)
Is there any update for my note at this time.
Thank you for your help

There are three ways you can check this yourself:
One: Go to Settings and check for a software update
Two: go to firmware.science and check for an update there
Three: go to the main Pie beta thread in the News and Guides section and read through it. We are always discussing the most recent build.

Thank you !

Is there any way to get official beta still?

Is N950USQS2BQL5 newest version?

Hey guys,
I have a Verizon Note 8. I am on Oreo. I updated it myself before the release. It was updated near December. Is that still the newest version possible of Oreo? Thank you! I just want to make sure I have the latest version because my phone is very buggy. I want it smoother.
THANKS!

No, newest official Oreo is 4CRD7
When I go to updates it doesn't find any. I guess this means I gotta manually update it? Or flash it?

Yes, you can check for latest version through Sammobile and download/flash from there or through SamFirm.

No, we need to wait for the U1 update to be released witch has typically been the last to be released. I believe these are the U versions being referred to here. Also everything new on Sammobile is the U so far. It shouldn't much longer for us.

I'm using it on project fi and no December update yet either.
I also have U1 version.
Note 960U 8\512 US Spectrum nothing since November 1, 2018.
I may not update until my Bixby Button and Navbar App's are updated!

Have not receives any updates since November update too on Sprint using unlocked model. It seems either Sprint or unlocked version always receives the updates last in the US.

Got mine today too. I thought it was Android Pie because it was being moved up for January, but damn it was moved back again.

I ended up using the firmware.science to update to pie. That bumped me up to December update automatically on pie. I also get to keep the Unlocked firmware without any bloatware and the rom is rocksolid stable.

After reading from users how the pie update takes away functionality and is full of bugs, I'm fine with them delaying the rollout.

T-mobile Note 9 - Anyone got Pie yet?

Looking to see if anyone on T-mobile has Android Pie 9.0 yet, the official download. That, or does anyone know when it'll come?

Nope. Probably within the next month I hope.
In the US, officially not yet. I think Verizon was the first one to update the Note 8 to Android 8... I'm not sure how quickly T-MOBILE updated their phones

Just for reference, the Note 8 on T-Mobile didn't get a stable build until May '18 (April '18 version got pulled, buggy).
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-36189
Since the Pie update isn't even on T-Mo's radar yet,I'm guessing we're looking at an equally long wait:

I have the U1 device and upgraded to Pie using the same.method that is posted on the how to upgrade to Pie thread. I'm using T-Mobile for my service and everything works fine. If you do not want to ant to wait for the OTA then just follow the guide.

Why not use the u version leaked by att? Csa7 is fully supporting TMobile and works great.

Does it lock you into that firmware branch like the Note 8 was with the leaked Oreo builds?

Nope. No bootloader update yet for the note 9 so you are safe to downgrade back to Oreo or even over to u1 firmware if you'd like.

Yup. And if you want to get OTAs again, you'll have to flash back to the Pie beta and deregister from the beta through the Members app. I had to do the second thing.
The other alternative (besides just sideloading OTAs), is to wait until Pie is officially released for the U1. This MAY deregister everyone automatically, but no guarantee.

FWIW, N960U1 Pie Update appears to be happening...

Downloading, as I type. Should be interesting to see if it's been worth the wait...

If you registered for the beta, then yes. If you just sodeloaded and never registered, then likely not. You'll have to wait for someone to post the OTA file.
Nothing for me yet. Do I need to deregister from the beta program in order to receive the OTA?

Well, if you want to waste a step and time, ODIN to ARL1. Or you could just ODIN straight to CSB3.
Downloading now. Finally. Kind of PO'd that it doesn't even have March security patches.
