Hi everyone! I had OPS27.82-87-3 on my XT1925-5 and got the update hint from Motorola again and again. Update did not work (because of TWRP3.2.3 and Magisk 18). I could not install another ROM (I already reported elsewhere!). Now I have tried the Lenovo Moto Smart Assistant and since then OPS27.82-90 with security patch October 1 on myXT1925-5. But: TWRP is gone, Magisk too and at the start again the "unlocked etc." Klimbim, my beautiful boot-logo is also gone. I do not know yet if and when I switch to TWRP and Magisk again. It does not really make sense without any proper custom ROM!
Another thing: All apps are still there, the appearance has not changed, all contacts, calendars, etc. is unchanged! Of course, some apps that had root privileges only partially work! But that is logical!
Greetings from Austria!

Why would you post this question in the development section of the forums? [emoji848]. Better place would have been in the Q&A section...

Yeah that's how it works. It flashed the servicefile.xml instead of the flashfile.xml. Which flashed system, boot, and all other partitions without wiping data.
Same can be accomplished with RSD lite or fastboot along with a stock firmware package.

[Q] Moto G Bootloop

Hi,
I have moto g 2014 dual sim. today I tried to reflash the os but got "Failed to validate system image" upon reboot. So I unlocked the bootloader and again reflashed the os but got bootloop.. Please tell me how to boot my moto G 2014?
Read the instructions and flash it correctly with the correct firmware. Also post your question in the correct section.
If you have winrar or 7zip you can extract the firmware and take the "boot.img" file and flash it separate from the other firmware and it should work. That's how I do mine.

Let me tell you the series of events that led me to have bricked Moto G 2014:
1. I had X1068 Moto G 2-14
2. Wanted to reflash firmware and followed the steps provided in 4.2 section here http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/restore-to-stock-t2873657
3. I got "Failed to Validate System Image" when I tried to reboot.
4. I was advised to unlock bootloader and reflash firmware. I did the same but got bootloop when I tried to reboot.
5. Now when I power on the phone, bootloader unlocked warning message comes and the screen blinks with the same message..
Please help Bro..
Who ever told you to unlock bootloader to flash firmware is giving bad advice. It is not required to unlock the bootloader to flash the factory firmware.
Make sure you're using the driver from here: http://www.mymotocast.com/download/MDM?platform=windows
(If you have other Android ADB drivers installed, uninstall them first, before installing this one.)
Make sure you are using mfastboot.exe, not the regular fastboot.exe.
Make sure your downloaded firmware is not corrupt and you got the correct version of the firmware for your device, there are different ones.
Download the firmware from here: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=36
I believe your file is "Blur_Version.21.11.14.titan_retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03", but check on it.
After you reflash, make sure you boot into recovery mode and do a factory wipe.
The firmware for this phone is split into 3 files, so make sure you flash all three of them.

Thanks bro.. It was my mistake not to flash all files in the firmware folder.. apart from three system files (0,1,2), we also need to flash fourth system file (3) in the firmware folder... Thanks again bro...

Folks, I got a MotoG 2nd Gen (XT1068) I'm trying to root it but not successful. The main reason for rooting is that I want to record all my calls. Any solution?

Please be more presice, have you unlocked bootloader, before trying to flash the recovery?
Greetings from Venezuela. Just recently, I bought a new Moto G since my old S3 got severly damaged which made it unrepairable. I loved the reviews about de Moto G, but sadly since I got it I've had no luck with it.
While being connected to a WiFi connection, just looking around the celphone's settings, the phone required a system update straight off the bat. I had noticed before the update that the phone was instantly rebooting once the inactivity timer went off locking itself. Obviously after some time I did notice it by locking the phone manually (pressing the power button). I'm not that geeky or experienced in the Android field, but by doing some research on the web I've read some stuff that makes me not lose all hope on the phone, making me want to fix it.
I've tried factory resets, recoverys and nothing has worked. It has made me really frustrated not being able to fix the issue. All I've really done refering to flashing is unlocking bootloader, but still without flashing anything yet to make sure what I'm doing is the right thing to do.

I followed the inscrutions, successfully flashing stock rom. But the bug is still there since the phone keeps rebooting once the screen is locked. Still need to know if there's any fix. Thanks for the help!
A New Problem
I recently got an ~138mb OTA update, tried to install it, after downloading it, but it failed at default recovery installer, rebooting with an error message saying "Update installation unsuccessful". Hence, I tried it with a custom recovery TWRP installed in my mobile, with TWRP manager app for android (with my phone rooted obviously) So after downloading update, on giving install, it goes to TWRP recovery main menu, from there I dont know how to install the downloaded update, or where it is available to browse to... Being unsure, I rebooted it to normal boot up, but no matter what I do now, the phone after turning on in the home screen, automatically powers down(switching off) to TWRP recovery main menu, I am stuck here please help me, someone.
I dont wanna lose all my data!! Give me a suitable solution

Wrong Recovery flashed on Moto E5 XT1944

Hi!. I recently received my new Moto E5 XT1944-1 and i wanted to root, unlock bootloader and everything. For that reason i enter this forum and get the TWRP recovery from de Moto E5 (James), but i dont know that the James (5,2 inch screen) is not the same that my Moto E5 (5,7 inch screen), and now the recovery seems to be corrupt and cant enter, only enter on fastboot mode. I need to say that the smartphone boots normally, but i fear the day that i need to make a full wipe and cant enter recovery. What can i do to reflash the original recovery?. Thanks to all help given.
Edit: I need to say that the bootloader is successfully unlocked, but still the problem with the recovery.

Because the Moto E5 series is so young in terms of both its recent release and its limited support within the Android community, finding factory firmware packages is not easy right now. Typically, in your situation, simply extracting a stock recovery image from a firmware package and flashing it in fastboot would be your best remedy by far. But, if you have corrupted your recovery partition and are unable to locate a stock image, I would recommend first that you ask some members and devs on the furum to dump a stock recovery image that you could flash to fix your issue. Second, if you are rooted, make an immediate dump of your /system, /boot, /oem and /vendor partitions. That way, if your OS does decide not to boot, you can restore your partition dumps via fastboot (as long as your bootloader is unlocked). If you are not rooted and are thus unable to dump your key partitions, I'd advise to just be really careful in terms of modding or tweaking your stock OS. Firmware packages will likely be available by September, maybe sooner. Until then, reach out and ask some members & devs if they can provide you with a stock recovery image. Good luck...
First, thanks for your fast reply. My phone isn't rooted yet, i stop doing the guide of the James version because i think i do it worst. I can test the Kingroot app o whetever it names, but i prefer to wait and stop installing apps (only the basic: Telegram, Youtube, etc for daily use). It's ok friend. I understand you good. I am currently developing for the James xt1921-5 (Boost/Virgin/Sprint) variant and, as such, I am keeping a close watch for factory firmware to be released for the James. I will contact you as soon as I can confirm a firmware source for your particular model (xt1944-1). Currently, there are only paid subscription-type repositories which offer firmware downloads online. I don't recommend or support sources that charge a fee for firmware. But, it won't be long. September at the latest, possibly sooner.

My surprise when i see that this version was recently released...
Well, then it's time to wait to see how the scene grow up.

Great news @intherior -- Motorola Mobility has leaked some factory firmware packages for yours and a few other variants. I'll be posting a thread with download links by tomorrow evening. In fact, here is you a link to the specific file you need -- the stock recovery image for the xt1944-1. You can flash this via fastboot mode by:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

We don't have TWRP yet, it's not officially out yet for any G7 models and I don't know when ours may be.
Root your G7 with Magisk
I noticed this method without using TWRP on the G7 XDA forum but haven't tried it, and you must unlock the bootloader first. Apparently it's working for a few G7 users so it should on G7+ too if the correct boot.img is used (for G7+/'lake' not G7/'river') according to your release channel. You still wouldn't have a custom recovery but could install Adaway, Magisk modules, and gain full access to the file system.
EDIT:
If anyone tries this method please report back, and don't forget to unlock the bootloader first and use the Lake/G7 Plus firmware from lolinet. No one has reported it not working but only a handful have used it afaik. I'm on RETLA w/Dec security patch so would rather wait until OTA updated and then I might try it because it would give me everything I need from root except nandroid backups and installing ROMs (of which there aren't any yet). I have my unlock code ready to go and have the needed boot.img from my channel-specific firmware but remain fully stock.
The instructions aren't that detailed but I found you can install Magisk Manager as an apk, open it and when you tap on Install Magisk 18.1 (which isn't installed yet) it also gives the option to "patch boot.img" (which I didn't select but assume it'll let you navigate to where you put the one from firmware & not alter the currently booted partition). When finished you put/copy that altered one on your pc (preferably in your Fastboot/ABD folder) and fastboot flash it, then reboot and you should be rooted in Magisk.
EDIT #2:
Tried it, it works!
I would like to try this also, however I've already updated to PPW29.98-66 (RETEU) and there is no firmware for this version and channel on lolinet.
Any idea where I can find it or when it will be available?

If someone on your channel could capture their PPW29.98-66 OTA before installing, otherwise I think you'd have to wait until it appears on lolinet or Motorola's site, or we get TWRP. I realized I'd be in the same boat because my current firmware was also the only one so far on lolinet, so I decided to go ahead because I'd only get January's security patch (on Dec now) and still be a few months behind anyway.
Having done it I can say that Magisk Manager does let you navigate to the stock boot.img file after offering to patch it, then it goes through the same familiar steps as when installing in TWRP, and at the end tells you it's in your Download folder with the name patched_boot.img. After transferring to my pc I renamed it to boot.img and just manually typed in the fastboot flash boot command.
I also want to repeat that although rooted there's still no custom recovery/TWRP so you can't do nandroid backups, and now when my channel's OTA comes along I'll have to disable Magisk & flash back to my original boot.img before taking it, which I hope works but it should. It's great being rooted though on G7+ with Adaway and Youtube vanced background play, also Root Explorer to change my boot animation or debloat or whatever.

I see there is a PPW29.98-66 RETAIL channel firmware on lolinet:
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/lake/official/RETAIL/
I'm not sure what difference the boot.img would have between them if any, and the RETAIL channel is more a 'generic' type which might be a safer choice than others of the same build version. I know the G5+ debloated ROMs by NZedPred ended up with just one version (instead of by various channels as he did originally) after finding he didn't need to bother, though I believe he did make other changes. He'd be a good one to ask though if you want to PM him.
After I get updated (revert to full stock etc) I may try the RETAIL one to re-root to see if we can use it for this purpose regardless of channel. My 'international model' from Amazon is actually just the RETLA channel since it wasn't released in the US, so I'd almost rather be on the more generic channel if it works.
EDIT:
Did some experimenting, reverted to full stock then successfully tried it again with the boot.img from the RETAIL firmware (which for my version is still PPW29.98-28), so I believe RETAIL could be used for other channels too.
This process worked for me. Moto G7 Plus, International Unlocked version.
This worked for me, XT1965-2, AT&T mexican version. Also, managed to run Substratum, just needed to compile, reboot and activate each time I changed theme.
Well I am on the same Page...
Also my Channel Islands reteu2, I can only find reteu...
My g7pluswas shipped already with a newer Version than available. Anyone tried the retail bootloader?
Alternatively, can we somehow flash the whole "retail" version on this phone?

I assume you have G7 Plus (not G7) with the build number you showed.
To answer your question:
I successfully fastboot flashed the full RETAIL channel PPW29.98-66 firmware a few days ago. I was on RETLA PPW29.98-28 with the December security patch and now have the January patch, and my channel is still shown as RETLA. I used the batch file posted in this thread which worked perfectly. Everything for my XT1965-2 RETLA model is working as it should on the newer RETAIL firmware, but I don't know if your RETEU2 has anything different that could cause issues.

I tried everything but its not working stalble for me either.
You can do delete google pay cache+data and google play services cache+data, reboot and then you can configure a payment method (e.g. add credit card). Afterwards I was able to pay exactly one time... next time it refues my card telling me I am not able to pay with that card any more...
(Bye the way, people say the issue might be connected with wifi as well, so I turned off wifi for that procedure I mentioned above)
Anyway I deleted google pay now using my banks own application, which does not detect root using magisk hide

There's a bunch of Google apps that need verity to be enforced I think. I think we need the stock ROM with the stock boot. Maybe the phone has to be rooted to patch the stock boot.img with verity enforced? I'm not sure but I stepped up to the G7 Plus because it finally has NFC so I can use it to pay and it was an unlocked international version that works good with Google Fi (which also needs verity enforced).
Still looking for a solution and will probably just go back to my old phone until I can get Google Fi and Pay working.

Looking to flash OK Pie on P9 Any help would be appreciated.

Hi guys, like the title says. I'd like to flash OK Pie onto my old but still working P9 but after so, so much time i have forgotten everything I did to my phone to get to where I currently am. I've been searching for specifics to my situation but the guide to go from EMUI 8 to OK Pie is complicated enough as it is. If I have to factor in the "back to stock" procedure etc I think my brain would explode xD
So I'm looking for any links, guides, personal help or WHATEVER may help me at least get to chinese OREO 9I think I'm capable of taking it from there)
My current setup:
EVA-L09
Build number: EVA-L09C432B378
EMUI version: 5.0
Android: 7.0
My phone is from Latin America, So IIRC I unbranded it, changed it to cust 432 and flashed the latest (stock) firmware which at the time was B378.
I also have TWRP (the latest one) installed. If I got it right, I THINK I need to go back to stock recovery, flash the latest FW and go to Chinese OREO from there before trying to flash OK Pie, right?
Could somebody please be so kind as to either help me or at least point me to a thread/guide made for idiots such as myself xD that can walk me through the steps of going from my FW to stock recovery and stock latest FW?
I'll manage to get to oreo and custom after that.
I appreciate your help in advance.
Thanks.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that yes. I kept my unlock code so thats no problem
Thanks again!

P9 thread for OK ROMs (under the P9 ROMs, Kernels... collection)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/roms-openkirin-aosp-collection-t3828806
In short:
1) You must rebrand and update your L09c432 Nougat to AL10c00 Oreo, it is PRECISELY explained in the OP posts (mainly the post #2, but read #1 - #5 to get better picture) in the corresponding thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/rebrand-update-tool-hwota7-p9-eva-t3820849
2) Once you will be on EVA-AL10c00b540 Oreo, you have to follow the OK installation guide from the first link.
You will have to install OK Omni Pie for Android 8, not for Android 9 (there is no stock Pie for P9)
If you search for Pie in the given two XDA threads (Search box at top- right on any XDA page), you will find that many people have undergone (and some returned back from OK Pie to stock Oreo) with no problems - but it is important to carefully follow the guides, first for rebranding and installing the Chinese stock Oreo, then to install OK ROM EXACTLY as described on their site (common guide for all OK ROMs and for all Huawei phones when already updated to the stock Oreo)

Hi, thanks for replying. I'm aware of the PROCEDURE not so sure about the "how to".
Thats why I posted. Your post basically told me what I already knew (and talked about in my post)
What I'm looking for is help going from my current TWRP/STOCK/ROOTED FW. Back to full stock so I can start updating the ORIGINAL FW. I can't find any info on how to go back to stock recovery for instance. Do I need a specific recovery for the FW I'm running? Is it generic? Where do I find it? How do I flash it? Where do I get the stock firmware? (Huawei firmaware finder?) Which one do I flash? Does flashing the stock firmware automatically flashes the stock recovery? Things like that. I appreciate you trying to help but I already read and knew the things you linked to. My issue is, like I said: going back to stock before I can follow any guide to go up to oreo.
Thanks anyway!

If rooted by Magisk, there is Uninstall option in Magisk Manager, it will unroot.
Similarly SuperSU had an Unroot/Unistall option.
In both cases you can flaslh back the stock Boot partition but it is cleaner to unroot by using their Uninstall options.
From TWRP or Fastboot you have to flash stock Recovery (corresponding to your current stock Nougat firmware) to revert back from TWRP
Generally, if you download from FirmwareFinder update.zip corresponding to your current stock Nougat (must be from FullOTA-MF or FullOTA-MF-PV), unzip, then by using Huawei Update Extractor, you can extract Boot.img and Recovery.img that you can flash then from Fastboot or from TWRP to go back to stock Boot and to stock Recovery
Once you go back to stock Boot and Recovery, you can boot to eRecovery (switch off, connect to charger, keep pressing Vol+ and boot by Pow) and choose Download latest firmware and recovery
----
But in fact, since you already have TWRP, use the HWOTA method from this post to update to c432b504 or b505:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75787151&postcount=2
You can do the same with HWOTA7 from the corresponding thread I gave you (before you will go to rebrand to AL10c00b399).
In both cases, you have to download three update*.zip files for eg L09c432b504 (must be FullOTA-MF), rename one or two of them as described in the OP posts (be careful, some people have Windows 10 that hides zip extension and they wrongly rename files to have double zip extension and then HWOTA/HWOTA7 scripts cannot find the file and fail to flash resulting with half-brick), put them to DLOAD file on the SD card and follow the guides

Thank you. Thats exactly what I was looking for. I really appreciateyour help.
Btw, no one should have the "hide extensions for known file types" checkbox marked...
Edit: Should I flash the same FW version Im currently using and then update regularly? To prevent any issues? (Cause i noticed there are some rules as to the version jumps that can be made flashing like this...

It must be the same model and cust, c432, but safer if you also apply the same build number (b387 ?)
Once you are back on stock you should start receiving OTA updates (have WiFi and a valid SIM card). Give it some time but check also manually from Settings / System updates.
As mentioned in my previous post, you can also use eRecovery / Install latest fw and recovery (if OTA coming slow), and there is a similar option in HiSuite. You will probably not need to use HWOTA or HWOTA7 to jump from clean stock b386 up to b50x

Did you go for OK Pie (or you stayed on Nougat, or in between on stock Oreo b540), was it Okay?

Hi again. First of all I would like to thank you agaib for your help. You made the process so much sinpler and quixk for me and I do apprexiate it.
Second, I updated to the latest "original" fw for my c432 phone OTA but then had to modify the HWOTA7 procesa so I could dl and install the latest/latest fw (because it wouldnt even register when searching for it) I used huawei fw finder to verify it and dl.
After that I went to chinese Oreo, flashed the network fixes and installed a TINY OTA update which fixed some sexurity issues apparently (thankfully it went Ok cause I THINK flashing OTA in a "converted" phone is a big nono?)
Anyways, I ended up on omni pie (the latest beta whixh is 5.2 I believe) as going AOSP was the whole point of this endeavor.
So far I'm LOVING it. Its such a refreshing thing not having to deal with all the bs OEMs bake into their roms... But Im experiencing a couple of issues as well. Not sure if its the rom, my phone or the android version (particularly my issue with battery life since I was having issues with the duration way before I updates, actually that was one of my motivations for updating since I read that pie had better battery management)
Anyway, my issues are as follow. Hope you can help (once again)
Battery life SUCKS (like really, it went from bad to terrible... Not sure if stock oreo would make it better, or perhaps omni pie needs some optimizations?)
The camera (huawei one, not sure about the aosp) has issues. Multiple issues. The biggest one being that if I try to go from back to front camera the app locks in a black screen and I have to go into the app, delete data, reboot the phone and relaunch it (and that doesnt fix it everytime)
The last issue is with pop messages from apps and/or settings. Sometimes, when installing and app and/or changing aome setting a white popup shows up with ONLY an OK option. I cant read anything on the popup. Everything is white. Not sure if its an issue with the theme (I changed from default to "hell" or something like that) but it is VERY annoying not knowing what youre agreeing to.
Last but not least I have a question about the stock rexovery, factory reset and flashing new versions of omni (if and wheb they come out)
In one of the steps for flashing omni the guide asks to perfomr a factory reset from the stock rom. Thing is, it doesnt work. I mean, when I confirm the factory reset the process starts and approximately at 15% an exclamation sign appears and the process percentage stops working. I can reboot the system and everything works fine (using the phone to post this actually) but Im left with that feeling of not knowing why something failed... You know what I mean? Is that nornal?(the failure to factory reset, not the feeling ) also, does factory wiping the phone removes root access? Or does it only renove magisk manager?
Also, if I ever wabt to update the rom (not change it mind you, but flash the next beta or stable or whatever they come up with) do I need to flash the stock recovery again? (Currently rooted with magisk) or is it a separate partition? (Sinxe I had to modify the ramdisk and not flash a custom recovery) also, will I need to do the whoooole thing again? (Backup everything, restore tk factory etc etc) or is it just like with lineage for exanple where you could flash and updatr and keep your data untouched?
Thanks for EVERYTHING my friend. And I hope you can answer my questions (particularly the ones about battery life and thebfactory reset issue since Im planning on doing one last factory reset before settling with the rom. Just waiting for my new micro sd. The one that will stay in the phone)
Sorry for the typos. Writing this huge post on a phone is a PITA.

This small OTA bringing Patch02 over b540 installs even over TWRP (but that was not the case for OTA from eg b535 to b540)
Cannot discuss/compare battery for Omni Pie, since not using Omni
Problem with Camera app does not show on stock Oreo. Even if the app was somehow ported from Huawei, there are maybe problems with integration to Omni.
Various Huawei/Mate models come with different cameras, but there is only one OK Omni ROM (with one Camera app) given to work on all Huawei/Mate models
Btw, somebody else also complained about issues with Camera (and GPS) and decided to go back to stock Oreo.
Similarly, issues you described about black notifications or so must be related to the custom ROM, theme or so.
As a general rule:
- for installing OK ROM, you flash System partition, and nothing else
- you also wipe Data partitiom (containing all your installed apps, incl Magisk Manager, also containing your user settings)
It does not affect any other partition.
Therefore, changes given by NW patch persist - without, you will have (also in that OK ROMs) problems with SIM card(s) and connecting to the network
Also, Magisk, which was flashed to Ramdisk, persists. You must only install Magisk Manager again, because it is user apo, installed to Data partition that was wiped
You must check on the OK side how they advice installing the updates of OK ROMs
(It is questionable if they will get updates any more, since OK team switched to development of ROMs which install over the stock Pie, whereas on P9 you have no stock Pie - only Oreo, and most likely, we will never see stock Pie for P9.
Just check when OK team released last ROM for stock Oreo, and compare with their releases of OK ROMs for stock Pie:
https://openkirin.net/download/
Hence IMO, for updating the OK ROM (if/when it comes), you will again just need to flash its System and to wipe Data (and then to reinstall user apps like Magisk Manager).
Hopefully, you can backup and restore some apps and settings by Titanium.
Whether you don't need to wipe Data for such update - check from the OK support.
On the Open Kirin site you will find Support pages (Faq, HowTo) and also a link to the live Telegram channel

XT1965-T T-Mobile REVVLRY+ Stock rom

I got the T-mobile REVVLRY+ today, and naturally, I wanted to put the stock motorolla firmware on it. Partly to see if I could, partly to get rid of the T-Mobile bloat and see what Motorola features T-Mobile had removed.
Everything went swimmingly, I have PPW29.98-107 installed, I even have WIFI Calling. What I did lose, however, is VoLTE. I did use TWRP to perform a backup before flashing, so I tried restoring it to get a better look at how VoLTE works in the T-Mobile firmware. This is where things got hairy. I stupidly only backed up boot, system, and data. When I use TWRP to restore them, I get stuck in a boot loop. The built in boot loop fix in TWRP didn't help.
1. Any ideas on getting as close to stock as I can with only the boot, system, and data partitions?
2. Does anyone have access to a REVVLRY+ that would be willing to do a full backup that I may try to restore?
*Edit* SO I used the code *#*#4636#*#* and VoLTE provisioned is enabled, so maybe I do have VoLTE?
*Edit 2* Google Pay doesn't work, even after locking the bootloader. The device says that the operating system has been modified. Still trying to get it to restore.
FOUND IT!
I found a repo of firmware that has the TMO firmware! flashing now!
I can't share the external link yet.

Where did you find it at? I would like to know because I'm trying to port Lineage OS to this phone. However, once I unlock the bootloader, I won't have an OS to use for it and i'll be screwed.

HOW to
Hi, I just picked up the Revvlry+. Do you have step by step to install the Stock Moto firmware? I miss some of the features of the Moto. Also, was it easy to restore the TMO firmware just in case?
did you make any progress into the volte research? im on a unlocked xt1965-2 and using metro but i dont get volte in any of the stock roms or custom roms. i have tried flashing the modem from the stock tmo rom which didnt really do anything. i will probably try to flash the entire tmo rom tonight and see if it boots. im thinking if i get volte in the tmo rom and backup the persist, vendor and efs. then if i restore them onto a working cutom rom with volte enabled, volte should work.
i have also read about different scenarios in where you have to install workarounds to enable volte on treble roms. like installing the ims.apk to route the calls to volte and flashing a volte enabler to inject the correct files into the vendor partition.
my other device is a moto g5 plus which has numerous volte issues when switching between stock and custom roms or between different versions of android.
Did you use the Moto G7 Plus TWRP? I just picked up a Revvlry+ and I'm looking to root to install lawnchair or pixel launcher as a system app.
successfully unlocked the bootloader of my t-mobile revvlry which is a rebranded moto g7 i did it using this method but i'm going to be a little cautious on rooting unless i know it's safe and won't brick i could use some help with this https://www.androidinfotech.com/root-moto-g7-plus-pie/ i have the revvlry not the plus i want to try multirom installer and install ubuntu touch on it but i don't want to screw up my only phone but the only way i can try it is if i had root permissions to do so to install linux tried userland but i couldn't get unity desktop to work i'd rather have full root instead of fakeroot update: i was able to boot twrp before but now it doesn't work i think my firmware updated cause now when i run fastboot boot twrp.img nothing happens and i end up with remote failed reboot the phone and it goes directly to recovery with the only option is to do a factory reset

Are you saying with a Tmobile Revvlry, you were able to just go to the Motorola bootloader unlock page, paste your unlock codes, and presto as if it was just a normal Moto phone? If so, that is awesome!
I am thinking of swapping my Moto G7 Play with a Revvlry because of the 3gb RAM and NFC (the size of the G7 Play is perfect, I don't want to be forced to carry around a giant phone), but would love to flash the stock Moto G7 Play ROM over the Tmobile version. Not sure I'm willing to risk it, but if anyone has tried, I'd love to hear about it.
Logged into my account for this. Sorry if this is a little offtopic, but I want to see if this phone is compatible(or rather, how compatible it is) not only with Stock ROMs, but also with custom ROMs. For those REVVLRY owners, what have been your experience with this?

Would I do the OEM lockbootloader command to lock it back
Can confirm flashing Moto g7 play firmware on T-Mobile revvlry. Caveat, you can no longer take OTA's and NFC is broken. Also can be bootloader unlocked through the Moto website.
Wouldn't you need to flash the G7 plus firmware for NFC to work?

That makes sense, the SD632 is NFC capable however I'm on the G7 play not the plus (I know, I know wrong forum)
I can't get the stock rom to work. It just bootloops every time. I tried all 3 versions. Any ideas?
Hey friends, would one of you kind sould who own the Revvlry+ be kind enough to post this Wallpaper?
Thanks in advance!

Did you manage to restore it with firmware? Because I have a bootloop and I'm looking for a solution
quiet boy
I just solved the problem I had like 4 crazy hours with solve bootloop, the problem that I commanded automatic flash, not flashing the vendor partition and then flashed the manual vendor partition
mfastboot flash vendor vendor.img and ready
edit:
for users with Revvlry+ variant (XT1965-T) use this Flash.bat
