Maybe a matter of choice. They are updating their own hardware and Qualcomm will be next.

Where did you get that info? The Samsung members app has no info about it for me or any mention of the note 9 at all. I even tweeted at Samsung and can get no info. I find it absurd that a factory unlocked 1000 dollar phone still can't get updated while the locked versions have. It is disrespectful.

Yes I agree! We buy the unlocked version with no ties to any carrier and get screwed either way. ? Getting tired of Android. Been with them since the 1st G1. Updates are always a mess unless you have the Google phone.

I gave my wife my pixel 2xl late last year and bought this note. Needless to say, it was a terrible decision. Lol. Well all we can do is wait I guess. I'm going to chuck this as soon as I can and try my best to start away from Samsung in the future. And ehat really irks me is that neither Samsung's social media, website or members app can give me any info about when I'm getting it
The last I heard was January and it seems like every bnb other version of the note got it except us. Freaking ridiculous.

I orderd a Note 9 from Medimarkt in Germany two days ago for 729 € (6GB/128GB) ..
Got it yesterday and the Note is already on Android 9.

which version do you have? CRR-UL00 or CRR-L09?

I was just given this as a gift. I have AT&T, but it is sim locked to China Telecom. It says 4G is locked by China Telecom. Phone calls, text, and EDGE (2G) work for me with my AT&T sim. If I were to sim unlock it, will LTE then work for me? It is the CRR-UL00 version.
Also curious about rooting and installing google play services. Any advice?
Does anyone know where to purchase one of these in the states? Been looking all over the place with no luck.

Yeah I hear ya! I was looking for something "different " than the typical American phones and found this. Then I saw the price and was like nope. But may I suggest the mate 7. Yeah it's a year old, but still a killer phone. I'm ordering it next week

SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 8 (SM-N950F) Android 8 Oreo (beta) update?

Hello, is here a chance to install Android Oreo (beta) on SM-N950F? Thanks for answer.
Not until they release he Exynos version of Oreo. If you flash the Snapdragon version it's bricksville for you...
always late
Why samsung do take so long for updating the new firmwares??!!! Is there a chance to get it now?

YES IT DOES! For UN-branded FW, ALL carriers must approve that FW for release!

Because Sammy OS is heavily modded to their linking so it will take time for them to get it all up and running and then testing and then some more testing.

carriers release updates to use on THEIR network; it doesnt matter one bit who you bought the phone from..
thats common knowledge in the cellular world.. Google is the only sometimes "exception", but if their phones are sold by any carrier, i.e. when t mobile sold the nexus 6, it was T Mobile who released/approved updates, NOT Google

it does matter.
in Europe, if you don't get your phone through a carrier you get the F model.
while other variants get their updates through the carrier, F models always get their updates directly from Samsung.
until the note 8 the unbranded models(like the F models) where always first to get updates, because no carrier approval is needed.
edit: correction.
there are carrier specific F models, the carrier branding is in the csc in those cases.
any phone bought from Samsung directly or a store that isn't tied to a carrier will always have an "unbranded" csc in Europe.

Please help me and my wife decide which version to buy! (Looking for phone experts)

My wife and I are looking to upgrade our phones to the Samsung Galaxy s10 and S10+.
We are considering the Snapdragon US Unlocked version as well as the Exynos Unlocked International version. We have some hesitations on both ends.
1. Will the US version get regular updates like the international? Less? More?
2. Are the reports really true about how bad the Exynos is in terms of battery life? (performance is probably not noticeable to us, but battery is KEY)
Thank you in advance for your help.
(please post any sources as I would like real use cases rather than speculation)
Really depends where you live and where you will be primarily using the phone.
Don't get the exynos if possible. It's really crappy

You're in the US. The only option for you if you want a warranty that will let you walk into any Samsung center and get a repair or replacement then the Snapdragon is the only option. If you want to root and all that, then you'll want the international version what will have no warranty in the US, and even if it did, rooting would kill the warranty anyway.

The unlocked will get updates after the locked versions in the US, it's the way Samsung does it. I just went through the Pie beta program, and some of the International models did get Pie befire the US models also. We're not talking about months but it was a couple or so weeks.

Is it possible they could be using a snapdragon model because of the region? Normally china and japan use snapdragon.I didn't see that it said it was exynos (using English subtitles) but if it is that is very impressive battery life.

The U1 will get the update last. The carriers still have to approve it before it can be released. And they will push the update to their carrier branded models first.

Hmmm...no warranty, no Samsung Pay, and not 100% compatible radio bands. Doesn't seem worth it to get a faster update. Especially since you can load the Pie beta on your N950U1 right now. It's very, very stable, by the way. I've been running Pie on my N950U1 for two months now.

Where to buy?

Anybody able to order yet for international delivery? Trying to get one here in USA... aliexpress & other seem not to have any yet Even though on sale......
Clove has it and carphone warehouse.
Hi,
I bought a P30 pro, 256GB with a Huawei Watch GT (a "gift") , at 3.dk in Denmark for DKK 5.160 i.e. ~ $ 775 + ~$7 a month more than I used to pay for the network. It is to be delivered next week.
I know nothing about the version no., but hope it is European 432. Dual-sim should be included.
I have been quite happy with my P20 pro, but unhappy with slow very slow updates. But after a year of updates the camera i absolutely faboulous now, which it was not to begin with.
According to our DXO friends in France the P30 pro is the absolutely best on photografing, so I am looking forward to see if they are right there
Good luck
Kurt
So Amazon UK has it for pre-order with delivery by April 6... was able to place an order here in the USA... Funny enough, Amazon France has it as well but won't... I'll see if they scrap my pre-order but in my recent experience with the Xiaomi Mi 9, if the order is in, it charges ok and then its golden... fingers cross. Should get it before April 9th!!!!

Can you confirm the phone has VOLTE on TMO US?
Place a call with wifi off and see if it still says 4g LTE.
Or download Network Cell Info Lite from playstore and go to the Device + Sim and see if VoLTE capable says "Yes".
Screen shot would be highly appreciated.
