u can flash using odin any pie firmware if same model number, ie n960f/d.
sure u know how to flash via odin since u in xda forum, also whether simply flashing odin firmware will void knox or not.

Funny how Samsung is handling this. Having a Note 9 in Malaysia is like having the best hardware with appalling after sales software support. ... Even Chinese competitors like oneplus 6t and huawei mate 20 pro are on Pie here. No wonder Samsung is losing its ground!!!

yeah i know how to do it but with 1000$ phone i am hesitating

Still no love for Malaysia user

Just flash it with the latest firmware like everyone else, there are guides on how to do this. Malaysia isn't the only country that doesn't have Pie yet, not sure what isn't being understood here.

Lost my patience and upgraded manually using SD card. Loving it ?

which country firmware u chose?

Hi,
I'm curious and really tempting to do so.
Just wondering - by doing this - will not affect our installed apps, right? Finger cross (as i don't see anything saying required to wipe data / internal / factory reset)
How's the One UI performance overall after you installed it?

i did a factory reset after installation. but that was my choice. i was still able to use the apps without the reset. performance wise.. the phone felt smoother after the reset but that will be the case even if i did not update i guess.

If you can go to Settings > About Phone > System Version and tell me what that says I can help more.
Also if you could possibly pull the update that'd be great. Have to be rooted to pull it though.

My version is the same.
I give up now I will get a update one day. 1 way or another my RAZR I will be updated.
And truth is that although I have moaned about the update the RAZR I on 4.0.4 is still very fast and smooth and the only thing I don't like about the RAZR I is no toggle switches in the notification drop down as a result I always have to go to my home screen. Other then that I think its a very good phone.

Network doesn't matter. It's a rolling update going by whatever Motorola pleases.
Wiping data was the best way to make sure you lose whatever was pushed to your device. Not going to find it again until its pushed to everyone.
Got the update 39001 retail en gb update,
improved hdr mode on camera and option to press and hold key to launch instead of instant on.
Some speed updates to browser, chrome installed by default.

The thing I wasn't sure of was the differences in versions so I just took a shot (110) and after clearing the cache got it booted up again.
does the bootloader need to be unlocked for this?
i just got a replacement under warranty and its stuck on 109....the one that broke was 112
New comment!
Since the OP apparently is MIA, and since I'm kind of in the first few posts, I'm editing this to provide the latest links for which we in this thread have our hands on, in hopes that a helpless, suffering, wandering soul who may want/need it, sees it.
Other firmwares may be around if you ask.
Also, provide if you have some love to share, since i hear FF also gave up on the A09, presumably to be in tune to Huawei's contempt.
I dunno. Whatever. That's what a community such as this is for.
We also exist here, so check it out if you don't find whatchamacallit here
Thanks to my guide @ante0, for instilling in me a desire to help just like he's helped so many (i read a whole lot by you, even when i hardly ask you things! ...although I'm world's behind his knowledge, to be sure lol!
Thank you, @nabril15, for being a real "mate" on this hobby of ours, refreshing to see someone who comes for what brought them here, and stays afterwards to help in every and any thing they can.
I know, i sound like a just cooked a rom or developed the greatest app yet, but if i didn't say it now, when? xD
Lastly, don't forget to thank (thumbs and, if within your means, why not? a beer or latte) the guys who most immediately make this possible, @Pretoriano80, @zxz0O0 and @topjohnwu

For any flashing yes you do, there's a way to somehow make it recognize there's an update manually but you would have to search for that as i don't exactly recall how, and that way you wouldn't need to unlock bootloader

How can I do it without unlocking the boot loader?Pls can u tell me the method?I have search everywhere but didn't find it.
Does anyone know how to flash the VERSION.img file? I was able to flash the system partition however the phone still prompts for a software update, had to manually modify the local.prop file in /version/special_cust/BLA-A09/hw/usa/prop.

yeah, it's unfortunate but likely the case. It's the user/customer that has to suffer in the end. Spying via smartphones is done in the US as well. I that case we shouldn't have to worry
BBIWY
Hopefully will keep supporting their US versions, or send one update to change the version to European, thereby making it one less version to work on.
I know, it's not something they'll do..but

Is ridiculous when you think about it. Motorola is owned by Lenovo which is a Chinese company and US government gives them a pass.
Does anyone know, if you were to buy the INTERNATIONAL version of the Mate 10 Pro (Amazon) yeah, no U.S. warranty, would it get the updates faster than the actual U.S. version?
I'm thinking about getting the international version, since it has the bands for at&t (which I use via straight talk).

You should at least be able to rebrand to get updates. I wish I had done that. It will definitely get updates faster, maybe not the latest one. But better than none.
The US brand phone is still great without the latest updates. I'm not a gamer and I can do without face unlock
I'm not a gamer either, but, I'd like to have the security patches within a few weeks instead of months after release. Yeah, I know, you want instant updates, get an Apple or Pixel...but I see the Huawei patches released pretty much LAST for the U.S. versions of their phones.
I'm hoping after Treble is the "normal", patches will be pushed by Google, not the manufacturers or carriers.

If you're using N950U then it'll work fine just make sure you're on N950USQS5CRK1 firmware first before updating to 5DRL7 version.. You update by putting the file on your SD card and booting into recovery mode and then you select apply update from SD card select the file again and let it do it. And yes; it's for snapdragon models only.
Is this just a clean version or is it specifically for a certain carrier? I got it on my note 8 but now I can't use my Gear s3. It's says to make sure I'm using the right software version haha. Keep that in mind if you use it.

All the Note 8 firmware is universal, so it's for all carriers. It's not the unbranded U1 firmware if that's what you're asking, so it will have carrier bloatware.
As far as your S3 you need to download the Gear S Plugin from Apkmirror to make it work.

You need a Korean SIM-card to have a Korean CSC, which then allows you to install the beta update. If you live in Germany and your service provider is O2, your CSC will be German instead of Korean. This blocks the installation. It doesn't make any sort of a difference if the phone was originally bought from Korea or if the language is Korean, only the inserted SIM-card's country matters.

Hating the new navigation bar. It's either sitting there for you to use or its completely hidden and you have to use gestures to swipe up at the point where the button would be

Dowoad latest firmware of UK BTU and download your own one too.
Flash your phone through odin by using both firmwares you downloaded.
*In BL, AP, CP use UK BTU firmware files
* In CSC use your own firmware CSC like O2.
Once you flash it and if it is successful like mine, then go to recovery and install the pie update zip file as Update from SD card. It will update you to pie by still keeping your csc and data hopefully.
I have attached my phone screenshots in case.

I can't find my firmware anywhere( note 8 Olympic edition N950NKOU3CRC3)... would be great if someome can share where I can get it.
I am doomed ,well then I have to wait for the final update.
Have a great day everyone.

Need help to downgrade my note 8 to a previous update (N950USQU7DTA3)

So, couple months ago AT&T released an update (in January 2020) which I saw a significantly improved battery life by 25% I was planing to disable my updates for future updates because I really liked it! However, 2 weeks later one day i wake up and my phone forced a new update and the battery life got back to the same even worse that what it used to be before that first update! Now, I am looking to downgrade my update to (N950USQU7DTA3) to be specific. I cant seem to find the file. Is there a source to find it? Also, Its been years since I've done this. Is there a way you guys recommend doing it without causing any issues?
Thanks!
At&t does not post firmware. Just flash any US firmware it's all the same. It will provision to your At&t sim

What's ???* you're definitely not the best also please.
Well when Elliwigy and Jrkruse give information you can bet its spot on. And MrMike has been around for quite awhile. Just try to take the advice given and understand none of these guys will lead you down the wrong path. Good luck and hopefully you will find something that works out for you[emoji106]
