Xiaomi 10W wireless charger - can't get fast charging to work - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Hey people,
Anyone got this charger(picture below) and managed to get fast wireless charging working? I've tried it with the original Samsung power adapter+cable and it didn't work, it's just charging at 5W. There's a video on youtube where you can see a previous note model using fast charging, so I don't think it's false advertising. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caRtqv27tPY&feature=youtu.be&t=242 , the red cable doesn't fast charge, the black one, supposedly the one that came with the qi box, does fast charge).
Also someone mentioned in another thread that the previous Samsung adapters worked but the note 9 doesn't for some reason. It's very confusing, so maybe someone has cracked this.

I fast wireless charge mine using a Ravpower Wireless charger, it does indeed charge at the 10W it's rated for, I've confirmed with an inline USB power meter.
To be able to use fast wireless charging, I have it connected to a QC 3.0 port on a multi port QC charger and it works fine. Not near it currently, so can't test with the Samsung charger. Do you have any other QC chargers you could try?

No, sadly the only one I have is a OnePlus dash charger and this one only uses 5V (you need 9V for fast charge from what I know), so it's just charging at 5W.
But yeah I'd really appreciate you trying it out, since what I need right now is just any adapter that might work.

Just tested and I can confirm, the Samsung charger did not work, I just got the Wireless charging message. Connecting the wireless charger back to it's normal port and I get "Advanced wireless charging".
Although my Wireless charger claims to support QC 2.0, I can't think of any reason why the Samsung QC 2.0 charger wouldn't work.

Using wireless charger BW-FWC5 + wall adapter BW-S6 in QC port, both from blitzwolf and i have fast charging.

Well I'm not familiar with all the details behind wireless charging so I cannot really tell, but thanks to both of you, I think the issue is now resolved on my end. I'll either just buy the blitzwolf adapter or try with another QC3.0 adapter.

Aukey Quick Charge 3-port USB does not charge using Samsung Wireless Charger?

Hey all,
I got an Aukey 3-port USB wall charger for Christmas (Model PA-T2), that includes a Quick Charge 2.0 port. I plugged in my Samsung Fast Charge Wireless charger into the port, but it does not fast charge at all. It will say fast charging, but then it will disconnect ("Wireless Charging Paused") after a couple of seconds. It'll keep cycling like this, so it's never really charging.
If I just plug the cable directly into the phone, it fast charges just fine though. I've tried changing cables as well.
Has anybody run into this issue with this Wall charger before?
Does your Samsung puck work fine with the included Samsung fast charge ac adapter?
The Samsung fast wireless charger has a warning not to use unapproved ac adapters or damage to the puck can occur. Must be reason why they state that. Could just be marketing cause they want you to use/buy their ac adapters but after all the wireless charger comes with an ac adapter.
The Samsung fast charging adapters don't have 12v output (not needed anyway) unlike certified QC2.0 chargers. Maybe the Samsung pucks don't have protection against the 12v, who knows, pretty stupid if they don't though.
I've already had issues with 2 Choetech fast wireless chargers. I was using a Tronsmart QC2.0 adapter which the Chotech is supposed to work fine with. Not taking any chances with my Samsung fast wirless puck, I only use it with the Samsung fast charging adapter & use my QC2.0 charger for cable charging.
Then there is/was the Verizon variant issue if that's what you have.

I was using it with the Samsung Fast charger just fine. Tried the Aukey fast charger (3-port USB) and it suddenly doesn't work. Such a bummer that it doesn't seem to be compatible..

No Quick Charge 2.0/3.0 support

TurboPower charger that comes with it is the only thing that will give it a fast charge.
I have no idea how or why Quick Charge tech was left out.
Mine does indeed say "TurboPower Connected" and charges super-fast when I use the USB C Quick Charge 3.0 AUKEY Amp Type-C Dual-Port Wall Charger and the USB C Quick Charge 3.0 AUKEY Car Charger with Dual AiPower Ports. I can't seem to find it now, but I remember reading somewhere that the Moto Z does use QC 3.0, otherwise I wouldn't have bought the above products. NOTE: I am going USB-C to USB-C.
Does not use 3.0.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z-force/help/moto-z-forces-turbopower-quickcharge-t3429607
In short QC 2.0 and 3.0 don't follow usb c spec according to a top Google engineer. According to Usb c spec the vbus voltage should not exceed 5v. QC tech exceeds this by using 9v and 12v to achieve more power. Motorola built the Moto Z according to spec which allows you to ramp up the current (amps) to achieve more power which is why our stock charger outputs at 5.7amps. You don't need QC to charge fast with Usb c. Usb c with power delivery is actually better . Either way the QC chargers put out 15 watts total. Our turbo charger does 28.5 watts using 5v at 5.7 amps and is actually faster than what's out now. QC chargers use higher voltage to achieve this at 9v 1.7 amps 15 watts, a charger doing 5v 3a does the same 15 watts. So to turbo charge your phone don't use QC chargers unless it also outputs at least 5v at 3a that's the key. Anything less than 3a won't turbo charge. It needs to be a usb C to usb C cable so the charger should have a usb C port not a usb a port like most of you are trying to use. No other charger out now does more than 3amps besides the turbo charger until then use chargers that do 5v 3a. Verizon has a fast charger that supports this and all other fast charging tech.

Will these charge as fast as the stock charger out of the box? And with a USB C cable does it need to support quick charge, or do all USB C cables support quick charge as long as you have it plugged into a USB C quick charge adapter like you linked to?
Nothing charges as fast as the stock charger as far as I know.
I looked around on Amazon to try to find a spare charger with the same speed as the OEM, but there are none as far as I know. QC actually goes against usb-c standard, so whoever has a phone that supports both is technically being shorted on charge speed. I will be waiting for the verified brands (ex. Anker/Aukey) to release a legitimate charger because there have been instances where wall chargers have completely destroyed devices. For the fastest charge, you'll want usb-c cables end to end, but since usb-c is not the standard yet, I would be very careful when buying lesser-known usb-c accessories. Z owners will have to wait for the market to catch up at this point.
Total side note but I wonder if the problems Samsung is having is because of their bastardized quick charge/type setup.
I'm happy we don't have QC.

I bought the Choetech charger from amazon and it works great on my Z Force. no where near the OEM charger but still charges the phone dead to full in a little over an hour and a half. from my limited testing.

The car charger that Verizon sells turbo charges the phone, but not as quickly as the stock home charger. I don't think any charger will charge as fast as the stock home charger, since it's optimized for the phone. But the Verizon USB-C charger charges the phone plenty fast.

I can confirm this. I just got this phone on an upgrade after insisting to the Verizon sales representative that I did NOT want a Galaxy S8, that I was absolutely sure I didn't want the S8, and that I think the Z Force is a much better device than the S8. After seeing the genuine shock on his face that I slighted his phone, I bought the OtterBox case and the Verizon branded USB-C car charger with it.
The car charger definitely charges faster than my non quick charge USB-C cable, but not as fast as the stock charger. The stock charger will take me from ~5% to full in an hour. The Verizon car charger takes about an hour and twenty minutes to go from ~5% to full.
All in all, it was worth the money spent on the charger. It is definitely better than the 8 hour charge my standard USB-C usually takes.

Car wireless charger with Fast Charge Support

Does anyone have managed to find any car wireless charger with Fast wireless charging support? So this is what I did. I have a old 4x4 suv. I bought a inverter and plugged it I to the battery. Then ran a power switch and installed it next to the ashtray. The inverter is under my seat. The output I put a regulate wall socket and Installed it on the center console next to my leg. So now I just let the socket plugged in and I get the super charge from the 240v/40w coming out. I am in Europe so our plugs look better than the US.
Just a idea

As far as I know, only the Samsung Fast Wireless Charger 2.0 will give you full 15W wireless charging.
Anything else (even if rated for 15W or above) will supply standard Qi wireless wattage of upto 10W (mostly 7.5 to 9 W)
Got an OMARS white brand 15W wireless charger and it only charges at the 10W level.

Use the type c to type c pd /pps charging .
U can use the samsung official 25w charger or a non branded one 25w and above and u can get good 15w or supported wireless charging with the supported wireless charger
Never mind
I tried with my huawei 15w wireless charger says its charging fast. I use with the 40w power supply of my huawei phone. Only proble is the pad its small and have to align precise because of the camera bump.
Pd. Its any way to know it is the phone is charging at 10w or 15w? Only says fast wireless charging.
My wireless charger has three different LED's for charging, yellow for 5W, green for 10W and blue for 15W, I'd guess if you have no other way to tell, you have to go by the time it takes for it to charge.

I did notice this but was skeptical on the 65W PD. Not sure if the S21U can handle 65W...45W is possible because that's where the stock Samsung charger lands when super fast charging.

S21U doesn't allow 45W charging either, no matter which charger you use. USB PD uses a two way handshake protocol, and the charger will only supply whatever the phone allows depending on temperature, charge level etc. You can use any wattage PD certified charger safely. If you're planning to charge your MacBook, 65W would be good for a decent charge rate. 25W or 45W wouldn't be ideal for a laptop. The 65W charger will be good for charging any PD certified device, at least according to my understanding of USB PD.

Oh, my bad..I think the max S21U supports is 25W. The funny thing is that when I charge using my battery bank the phone says Fast charging. When on stock charger, it's just charging! Don't understand why..but I guess the stock charger just plays it safe to protect the phone's battery. I guess this charger shared earlier wouldn't harm the phone's battery...

When you say stock charger, which one do you mean? Coz the phone doesn't come with one. Did you buy a charger from Samsung separately?
I have the 15W Samsung charger which came with my Galaxy Tab S7 (USB A to C cable) as well as the USB PD 25W charger from Samsung (this one uses a USB C to C cable). Both support Samsung's Adaptive Fast Charging protocol and the latter supports PD. With the first one, i get fast charging displayed while charging, while with the latter, it shows super fast charging. I've kept both options enabled in settings. Not sure why your charger isnt fast charging your phone. Can you share exactly which charger and cable you're using?
