Hello! Im trying to get this APK to work on my Mate 20 lite, but it just shows a black image on the viewfinder and then just crashes. Tried a lot of settings but still does the same. Any tips on how you got to work??
i just installed like a normal apk
uninstall ,reboot the phone then install it again
what version of Mate lite u have?

Where did you find that apk? Is there a less dodgy source to download it from? Cheers.
I found the original link. Here it is: https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/GCam5.1.018-Arnova8G2-V1.7.apk BUT HDR+ isn't working at all. GCam only captures pics with HDR+ input model "no HDR+". With the recommended "Nexus 6" for this GCam version the viewfinder hangs after about 2 seconds. Had to restart the device afterwards to get the camera working again.

I've found the same issue with hanging and having to reboot for all GCam modified apk files. There doesn't seem to be a fully working GCam for the 20 Lite.

i'm also interested, but i think there is no hope with this app
Huawei use Kirin processors, that have a different way of handling the camera sensors and information, and there is no GCam that "just works" in those.
may appear some versions that work until some point, but probably just to basic tasks - no HDR+, special processing, etc...
This is the same to all Huawei smartphones, not just Mate 20 Lite.

works fine with [ROM][8.0.0][Kuntao][OFFICIAL][Cardinal-AOSP].
I can confirm... This doesn't work with S251 update. No matter you clean the cache and all, Just black screen.
Turn on Camera api2 if you have not activated it by adding a line in build.prop
Persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
Install the app, open it, if any error occurs, reboot mobile, it should work now.

1 - download "Build.prop editor" from play store
2 - open downloaded app and grant Root access to the build prop editor
3 - click on add property [ + symbol]
4 - now add this line

5 - save it
6 - Reboot mobile
you will need a camera app that makes full use of camera api2
few apps support it such as Google camera, snap camera....

I thought the app needs the camera2 api enabled for it to work? And to enable it you need root access?

Yeah did you activate camera api2, maybe it could be the reason.
I flashed a Pixel Experience Flashable zip on my P8 Lite 2017 but now my camera doesn't work, music playback and video playback doesn't work and I have no sound on my device at all. I had made a Nandroid backup before flashing the zip and I tried restoring it but the aforementioned problems still persist. To solve you problem try to flash cus.img from stock rom of this post. If not work use the same post to unbrick your phone

It didn't work, I still can't open my camera, play music, videos or hear any sound.
Hey Guys! I'm new with making magisk module. I started with basic things. Before i found a module for camera2api but its making front camera upside down. So i made a module about that. It's work with Xiaomi Mi5 tested by me. Maybe it can work with other phones. You should try it.

That's because it utilises a very old module template that doesn't work with current Magisk releases.

You enabled the find my device right? I too got this issue. Solution is simple.
In the keyboard you can change language to get english qwerty.
I dont remember but the key near left of space changes it. Try

Tried the rom its faster than miui 9, camera too good.
Please enable the option to change screen round corner or normal corner like in miui pro. And when I change font using fontster app system wide the fonts are not changing. In miui 9 it was ok.

I was quite happy of HyperCam before my device got updated to Android Q. It had most of the features working, plus on screen buttons to switch between the 3 cameras.
Of course, since I received the update it does not work anymore. I found a Hypercam based on Gcam v7, but i can't access all the camera modules.
What are you guys using on MIUI 11 ?

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately it doesn't fit me because the quality is not amazing and there is no way to apply config files. Also there is no filming at 60fps and the autofocus doesn't seem to work properly with the 2x lens...
