Proper themes will come at a later point (actually working on it right now), what you see is the none functional AOSP themes.

Are you sure you updated both ROM slots? Not happening here, but maybe I forgot to flash 9.0.11. I'll take a look

Sorry if I ask but I never flashed OOS before a custom ROM and always work, we just need only vendor from OOS or not?

Technically you only need vendor yes. Best practice would be to just flash full OOS image because that way you're updating other partitions too (like modem or the bootloader) which is why I recommended it. Also common practice on the Pixel devices, which is what I've been working on before moving to OnePlus, so it's still "into me"

Steps to always take.
1. Flash oos 9.0.11 (or whatever is current)
2. Flash twrp
3. Reboot recovery
4. Repeat 1-3
5. Flash ROM
6. Flash twrp
7. reboot recovery
8. Flash gapps and/or magisk
9. Reboot system.
10. Thank Dev.
*Optional* 11. Complain on things not working.
*Optional* 12. Goes back to oos

List of features? Focus on battery life, power, stability, features? Can you tell me why the digital fingerprint is not supported?

It's not supported on any ROM. The devs are currently working on a solution. Be patient

Digital fingerprint will not work for a while its hardcoded into the bootloader of I'm not mistaken

Sure you are right and is infallible method, I just only saying that I flashed all the custom ROM without flash before oxygen but simply making a factory reset, then wipe dalwik, system and data, then install ROM, TWRP, reboot in TWRP, install gapps, magisk, factory reset and all work perfectly.
I had oxygen ob3 previously installed and flashed 6 ROM in this way simply and fast.

Well, if you aren't up to date -- you'll get a message on system boot that your vendor image doesn't match what the system image has. All it means is that the system build.prop and vendor build.prop do not match.
Is it necessary? Probably not. However, it's always good to remain up to date.

good stuff! running DU on my Shield Tablet . . . always good to have options :good:
i'm on N-Preview on the Pixel . . . do you know if that will make flashing Vendor required for going back to a MM ROM? i'm traveling on business so won't be able to try this until the weekend.

Thanks for your hard work! It´s a really great rom with unique features
@NYCHitman1 Stable enough on dragon for DD? Thanks!

Oh my god thank you so much! The lack of ROM development on the Pixel C has really had me bummed out about my purchase. It's great to see another respected developer in here doing great things. I will install this tomorrow and post back with my experience.

I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I certainly haven't been. Dragon is a savage.
I rooted my Pixel C last night so I could flash this. I'm coming from a Nexus 9 - I never knew what to expect. If I didn't find the right magic combination of ROM and GAPPs it would crash and burn on startup.
From flashing to setup to installing apps and themes and then actual use, this has been perfect. Not a hiccup, not a FC. It's evident that some serious work went in to making "stable" mean "stable."

It's different, but not that different. The bootloader doesn't interfere with what is flashed as long as what you're flashing is acceptable/verifiable by vboot and verity, which this is.

Appreciate the explanation.
i used dirty unicorns on a nexus 6 for 4 months and was really impressed. i have a couple questions.
is the dragon build pre-rooted?
by latest twrp is that reference to 3.0.2.0?
would an install be successful by the following steps?
1. flash twrp 3.0.2.0
2. boot into twrp using physical keys to get to menu/select boot to recovery
3. using twrp wipe necessary partitions
4. install dirty unicorns gapps .zips back to back via twrp-- what would be best way to get du & gapps .zips on device after wiping partitions?
5. reboot to OS
i wanted to check first for any errors i may have made in correct process
6. does dirty unicorns handle the issue with stock recovery being installed each boot?
thanks for help and for the ROM

In order to install GApps, you must flash the ROM then reboot into TWRP before flashing our custom GApps package (as this switches slots). Custom GApps package can be found at https://mirror.myself5.de/taimen/GApps. We're working with the team behind MindTheGapps to fix the upstream for taimen.
Also, we know the default wallpaper on is black. We know it's caused by the RRO overlays on vendor and unfortunately we can't change the default (yet?), you can change it manually without complications though.
We know it’s complicated, but it sure is worth it!
Install Instructions:
Flash the newest factory images on both slots
Move your ROM + [GApps] + TWRP.zip to your internal storage
Boot the TWRP.img > Check what Slot you're on (Reboot Menu) ->Wipe Data & Cache -> Flash the ROM as well as the TWRP.zip
Either Reboot to system or, in case you want GApps, reboot to recovery via TWRP (Reboot -> Recovery)
Check and confirm that you are on the opposite slot from Step 3. If not, switch to it and reboot the recovery again (Reboot Menu) -> Flash GApps (and whatever else you want to flash -> Reboot to System -> Enjoy CarbonROM

Will be fixed Tuesday
Only issue I've had so far was I browsing OfferUp at ~60 percent battery and phone randomly cut off and went into the boot animation (1st and only time it's happened thus far). Camera, voice, and Verizon data have all worked so far and no other issues
Sailfish weekly is up, Google Camera should be fixed once and for all.
Gallery fc and Google camera fc has 100% been fixed with this update. Waiting on confirmation for Snapchat fix. Thank @Myself5.
New build up :good: Snapchat confirmed working by the way.
Trying now.

We recommend start off the newest OxygenOS Oreo builds, but we're using the 5.1.8 Fingerprint to pass SafetyNet when combined with Magisk, so you'll see the Popup to flash the proper vendor when using it with a newer OOS. Don't worry though, it's just the popup.

Hi guys, thanks a lot for this ROM.
Just two things I noticed:
- Notification shade changed to a transparent gray instead of usual white
- Hardware key rebinding screen is blank under Settings > Fibers > Buttons > Advanced options
Otherwise everything else is working fine.
Nice. I was a heavy user of CarbonRom on me old Xperia Z3C.. Good times.
How does a ROM like this deal with the notch and such?
I'm on stock 5.1.11, rooted with magisk and using twrp recovery. Can someone explain exactly the process of how I install to both slots?
Wow, cool new Roms. I'll try this out. Appreciate it
Touch sensitivity is a tad off in the corners , requiring quite a few double taps

I suspect not at all, Notch support is natively added in pie, so the general consensus has been "just wait for pie"

It's the same process as updating, just do it twice. The system changes slots automatically when you flash the full rom zip. As you're already on 5.1.11, you should be able to just flash the 5.1.11 zip one more time, which will flash it to the other slot. Then reflash twrp, etc., as usual, and reboot. That will ensure you have the latest firmware on both slots, but if you want to be extra-safe, just do it again.
Glad to see Carbom ROM on OP6!
thanks!

is it possible to port oneplus's face unlock to any custom rom, where it doesn't unlock with closed eyes and is better secured than Google's face unlock, also oneplus face unlock is definetely faster than Google so it'd be a really nice addition if developers could add it to all custom roms!!

Buy an app that gives you the ability to use something that has been hardcoded into your phone since basically it's launch... Because fk logic. And an app will never replace hardcoded gestures, there's just too many factors that randomly could break it for me to want this app... Just look at the reviews of it

I use it on every phone that I own and it functions as good as the stock OOS Gestures but with more customizability. I've never had an issue with it. The only time I don't use the app is when I'm in stock OOS. Reviews? I'm giving you one right now.

We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. Just do the flash instructions, no need to uninstall magisk, and if you're already on the factory image you can skip to step 2 :good:

What is R?
Our release of Android 11, titled CR-9.0.
It provides you with the features you need while keeping the focus on delivering an elegant, smooth, and well polished experience. R delivers a set of unique features, like a system-wide font engine that also allows for applying fonts on user apps while supporting user fonts through custom APKs generated on fonts.carbonrom.org. We are confident you'll love it, and there's many more things to discover

Install Instructions:
You should start off with the latest OxygenOS stable build on both slots and then proceed to flash Carbon.
The easiest way to do that is by installing the latest Version and then copy it by flashing the copy-partitions script made by LineageOS in the recovery. (See install Instructions for the recovery)
The recommended way to install is using the CarbonRecovery linked below.
Download the ROM and optionally GApps, reboot to recovery using
Code:
fastboot boot instantnoodlep-YYYYMMDD-HHMM-recovery.img
Sideload the ROM. (Apply Update -> Apply from ADB -> Connect to PC ->
Code:
adb sideload CARBON-CR-9.0-R-WEEKLY-instantnoodlep-YYYYMMDD-HHMM.zip
Reboot recovery (to switch between slots)
Flash GApps/MicroG through sideload like above (optional)
Factory reset -> Format data/factory reset (Make sure to have a backup of your data)
Done
Followup builds can be updated through the builtin CarbonDelta Updater or by dirtyflashing.

MindTheGapps is recommended, OpenGapps still seems to have unpredictable side-issues.
OOS camera or GCam default? And what kernel is it running and is it compatible with AOSP kernels for OP8P just in case?

Neither, default cam is Snap. Gcam Mods can be installed manually and work just fine. Kernel is based on the LineageOS Kernel, so whichever Custom Kernel is compatible with that, is compatible with Carbon as well.
ROM is smooth and fast ! But my charging seems to be quite slow ,not getting warp charge .anybody getting similar problem?
Edit: restarting the device fixed my problem .Smooth ROM and bug free after 2 days of use .Not a lot of customisation but it has all the essentials that i need .
Is it possible to take the modifications from oos 11.0.7.7 and add them to the ROM? i'm asking about VoLTE and VoWifi since we got official support in this version.
Really amazing ROM but I recommend to update your phone to the latest OOS before flashing this ROM.
I faced issues with LTE connectivity since it seems like I never got anything better than 4g but after flashing OOS and reinstalling Carbon, I was getting 4g+ (also known as LTE-A) all the time instead of the slower 4g.
Does someone know which Kernel would give me the best battery life with this ROM?
I'm currently doing a part time job and I was getting like 5h of SOT (which is better than on OOS) but I would like to get something like 7h SOT even if it means that I would loose some performance (I don't game on my smartphone, so YOLO)
Does Android Auto work on this ROM?
Nice weekly update. August, 25.
Good smooth ROM. Works well. I like that with the Carbon ROM fonts app,I don't have to root to get custom fonts. Rooting these days with banking apps is difficult. Thank you.
Liking this rom. kudos

Verizon is reported to be fully working on all our devices, Android Auto works with the Android Emulator and a VW Discovery Pro (which is all I can test with) plus other systems reported as working from by users.
Android Auto however was always a little picky in the past, so if it doesn't work with your system please let me know and we'll do our best to fix it.
@jarjarfinks see above^
September 8 build is very nice.
Thank you for October 13 , build updated.
