OK Google from sleep / lockscreen - Razer Phone 2 Questions & Answers

Is this a feature that this device supports?
I have everything I can think of enabled in Nova & Google Assistant settings. The "OK" keyword works fine when the device is awake. I just can't get it working from sleep.
BTW: I had it working on my LG V20 which I don't think officially supported it. That device was rooted and bootloader unlocked, among other things.

I'm downloading Pie now, but no, mine won't work either.

Try checking Settings → Security → Smart Lock → Voice Match, turn on "Unlock with Voice Match"

Mine hasnt worked from day 1, and Pie didnt fix it either. Also phone locked and using a headset also wont unlock with "ok Google." I loved this feature on my OG Pixel...

When I first got my RP2 it had Oreo on it and I could unlock my phone with OK Google. Then got an OTA for Pie and then I got a message from OK Google stating it could no longer unlock phone due to security issues. So Pie broke this feature.

VoLTE? for someone with 11e installed.

Just go off the phone with TMO support and they didn't have a direct answer, I have a stock device with the latest update 11e installed that added the digits functionality baked in. The issue I have is that regardless of being on a call or not, I cannot disable VoLTE in the settings, it's there, looks like it's on, but the option is greyed out.
I've reset the device and had the same issue before any changes were made or apps installed. Also, I used LG Bridge to update as I always do, I rather have the rom installed/updated as a whole and not patched.
If you have a stock device with the latest update can you go to setting/call and see if you can disable VoLTE.
My device allows me to turn VoLTE on and off, and I am on the latest stock 11e update.
thanks for the info swan3983!
Looks like it was a SIM card issue, I continued troubleshooting it, after putting in my duplicate line (digits) sim into my G6 it worked as it should. I just got off the phone with support and had them set up a new SIM that I had not used and it's working as expected.

bootloader unlocking issues

I had a question...is anybody having issues unlocking their bootloader that are using boost Mobile Moto G6 play? I enabled oem in developer options and did all the steps but once I go to get the key from the Motorola website it says I'm not eligible! I'm fairly certain I have seen in the forums people with my device the xt-1922-7 from boost Mobile had no issues. Any advice on what to do
Service is down for all models.. facing same issues on every model i tried.
Same here. Any idea when the service will be back up?
I have the xt1922-7 moto g6 play for boost. got it from Walmart for 79.99 I guess before they jumped the price to 129.99 and I can confirm I have BL unlock and twrp, magisk, magisk hide and root all working. Also able to set selinux to permissive with no issues. But I haven't updated it since I got a month ago. I still have everything from March 1st and what not. Not sure if theres been a recent update because I turned off automatic updates

please help.

I've been avoiding pie for a few months, and my A2 worked great.
this morning I see a message that it will upgrade after restart without even asking me to update. wtf google??????
everything went to s*it. internet doesn't work and I can't get to that option to set APN. it was a problem on old version also but I could get around it by manual picking APN after restart.
I'm so pissed right now.
edit: seems it didn't work cos the date/time were off. I managed to set APN, but mobile internet is much less stable than on oreo.
is there any easy way to go back and block further updates? just unlocking bootloader will not break OTA?

The same thing happened to me, the only difference is that I wanted to rollback to Oreo for the Snapdragon Audio+ (System Equalizer on Oreo) and so I did, but after a few minutes on Oreo I saw the same message, I restarted and I was on Pie again meh.. so I had to do the rollback thing all over again from the beggining.
You can rollback to Oreo (you have to unlock your bootloader to do this) and then once in the first boot in Oreo, deactivate automatic updates in the developer's options on Settings.
If you're having problems with Pie and want to rollback and stay with Oreo, that's the way to fix it.
After rollback, go to developer options and turn off "Automatic System Updates"

Trusted Face/ Face Unlock Issue

So I've experienced issue with trusted face/face unlock. I think it has a serious security flow. As I've activated that under security settings, under smartlock and since then it doesn't ask to unlock it!!! I get unlocked phone ( unlocked lock pad symbol) even if i'm not looking into my phone! so basically anyone able to unlock the phone!! This was not happening previously!!
I'm on Android Pie - June 2019 update.
Anyone is facing the same issue? Or try to activate the face unlock for testing and share what experience are you getting?

A few questions about the Pixel 5

So I have a few questions that searching for answers has either been vague or given me old, outdated articles and answers if any at all. Coming here to see if maybe you guys can help bring some clarity.
I still have not received the November security patch. I'm using an Unlocked Pixel 5 with an AT&T sim. This is the first time I have not been able to get an OTA update on my phone when I saw it was released. I was using the 12 beta on my device but my wife hasn't gotten one either.
Pixel tips mentions the enhanced voice typing on my phone but I do not have it available to me. I am on the Gboard beta program and I briefly got it when it was in it's trial rounds and it works great but is no longer available. Is this a 6/6P exclusive?
personally. i would backup everything on the phone(s) you want to save. then do a fully factory wipe and fresh install on the latest image from here https://developers.google.com/android/images#barbet make sure you select the correct model when flashing. the web flashing is extremely easy to use. just make sure you use chrome to do this all in. also make sure you install the usb drivers first before attempting to flash the phone. otherwise it will never see the phone connected to the computer.
one thing i have learned over the years of messing with computers and phones. it sometimes best to start off with a fresh copy of your OS than spending days or weeks trying to troubleshoot the problem only to have it show back up next update.
AT&T maybe controlling the OTA update for security patches. Google has sent out the updates to US vendors. Double check that you have OTA enabled. It maybe found in setting app - System - System update. Unless AT&T moved it somewhere else.
Check in the Settings app: System - Languages & input - On-screen keyboard. Verify that Gboard is listed as the option for Multilingual typing and that Google Voice Typing is set to Automatic. There may also by an item which has Google Voice Type [Legacy] = Automatic. I would not be concerned if does not exist. However if it is there and no equal to Automatic, then investigate further. Finally Voice typing is enable in Gboard by opening Gmail or Messages and select the "..." icon above the keyboard, then Settings - Voice typing - Use voice typing
Your thread subject says you have a Pixel 5 but you are posting in the Pixel 5a forum. Please either confirm that you have a 5a or move the thread to the 5 forums. It's hard to help you if we don't know which you have.
Since it is an Unlocked phone it is getting its OS updates directly from Google, not from AT&T. If you had a locked phone from AT&T you might well not be receiving timely OS updates. That is why one should never buy a phone from a network operator. Can you confirm that you did not buy this phone from AT&T? In this context "Unlocked" means the bootloader is unlocked or at least unlockable, not that the SIM card is unlocked to be able to work on another network.
If you do have an unlockable phone then the best thing to do right now is to backup your data and programs, then download and install the latest factory image. That will get you to a solid foundation for future OTAs. I would stay off the beta track from here forward.
