FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
- Backup your personal data (Important)
- Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
- Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
- Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
- Flash the ROM + Gapps Zipfile.
- Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
- Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every update (= ROM Update)
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 14.0 doesn't require flash on every dirty flash depending on the device, some devices need you to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine
ROM:Download
GApps:

Hello, I'm using the latest build and I really love it. Seriously. But then my phone started to overheat and reboot itself. Does this happen because of the kernel? Please help.

Use a treble supported recovery. I use orangefox recovery and I never had any issues. Try orangefox recovery and you will not have any issues with this rom updates or even other rom updates.

Thanks for the advice, but this TWRP is supposed to be treble-supported and it's recommended on the front page:
TWRP recommended
I am going through the whole setup process from scratch with TWRP right now, first of all having wiped cache, data, dvalnik and system as recommended.
I would be willing to try out orangefox recovery if it works better, but is the ota-update-mechanism is supporting this also?

Yes orangefox supports ota updates. Also miui updates are supported by orangefox recovery. Visit their website www.orangefox.tech and read details. I used redwolf recovery few months back but it gave me issues so changed the recovery and now orangefox is working flawlessly.

Thanks, tried it yesterday and it worked for me. Just another question: which baseband firmware do you use? I'm still on 037_PA.
I experience little trouble with flight mode:
With february's build, shortcut in power button menue worked perfectly, no I cannot switch the flight mode off again from time to time, the plane button in power menue simply doesnt't response.
When I used the button in the buttom tray, it askes for the sim's pin every time which was definitely not that way before.
Workaround is to deactivate pin but that is not what I wanted.
Could that be a firmware issue?
Glad about any suggestions

One more thing, for now, I haven't installed or downloaded you ROM, but I want to ask if the message app has this bug or not:
If you send a message to someone, and you stay in that conversation/thread while waiting for him/her to reply, when you receive the reply, then immediately delete the newly received message, the mesage app will crash.
Sorry for asking it before trying first.

VoLTE works?
What is the update schedule, weekly ?
And 60fps video on YouTube is little bit laggy for me.
Device Redmi 4A Rolex 2gb/32gb variant
Bluetooth and WiFi not working simultaneously.
If bluetooth is active then it will switch off WiFi and WiFi will not reconnect until bluetooth is deactivated

Same happened with Lineage 16.0 SO did it in the order of ROM, Magisk, (new download) GApps, boot, manually install magisk manager. That worked for LOS 16.0, so assume it would also work on this ROM. Not sure which of the above actually resolved it.

I flashed this, and was surprised how smooth and snappy it felt.
I got root to work with Magisk by manually installing the manager.
A couple of notes:
The launcher "worked" but had bugs. long pressing the home screen popped up a white menu with white writing. I successfully changed the wallpaper in the settings
A few times when I installed APK's from a file, the installer would get "stuck". It installed, but the done/open options never came up, and it was often a reboot to access the phone again.
It has some extra features, but is pretty close to AOSP. ie not the customisation I am used to
The screen had a habit of turning down to lower brightness after each time I set it to a higher brightness
Its SELinux permissive, and when I checked, there were a heap of audit exceptions. That would be expected on an early build.
I could make calls and send/receive SMS
Kind of inspires me to Build Pie Havoc-OS downloading the source now...

A couple more things I noted:
1.There is no music player (Thats ASOP, and Pico GApps) I downloaded Vinyl from Playstore, as it allows dark theme'ing.
2. There is No Audio FX. I rooted via magisk, then simply installed Viper v2.6.?.? , installed the drivers, rebooted, enabled it, and it worked :good:

Thats not a bug, but a character of ASOP over lineage; some see it as a reason for going ASOP! Its like saying RR has a bug because I cant set the lockscreen date font colour, but I can on Havoc.
You are using german specific NTP Servers. My preference in my ROMs is to use the more "international" NTP Servers of
Code:
#Global
NTP_SERVER=2.android.pool.ntp.org
NTP_SERVER=time.izatcloud.net
#North America
#NTP_SERVER=north-america.pool.ntp.org
#Australia
#NTP_SERVER=au.pool.ntp.org
#Test
#NTP_SERVER=time.gpsonextra.net
#Europe
NTP_SERVER=europe.pool.ntp.org
#Asia
NTP_SERVER=asia.pool.ntp.org
maybe un-comment North America.
I tested many servers using
Code:
ping
(NB: they dont all respond to a ping request) and
Code:
w32tm /stripchart /computer:2.android.pool.ntp.org /dataonly /samples:5
NB: from the device without WiFi.
My bad, that's a windows thing
Great ROM !!! Using this ROM for 3 days and not many bugs ! The only bugs are camera sometimes fails to open / takes long time to open and home button doesn't work on wake up ! All other things working great ! Super fast! Great interface! Great job ! Looking forward for new updates???

After flashing this recovery, I was able to boot the ROM successfully. Initial impressions, good. Everything is working fine. I don't use VoLTE so no issue for me if it's working or not. Camera works. Camcorder works. Wi-Fi works. Flashlight works. Sound works. There are some issues tho. Whenever I touch Battery option in Settings, the Settings app force closes. Don't know what's the issue. Also, after every reboot, the phone automatically goes to vibration mode. Great ROM overall.

Nice, thanks.
Great! Another cusrom. Thanks
Thank you for your work!
I'll ask the usual questions that may interest other users.
1) Is this ROM based on AOSP or something else? (Lineage, Omni, etc.)
2) Does this ROM support signature spoofing?
3) The tricky one... Why this ROM over another one? Nah that's just too mean. But would you say your ROM stands out thanks to a specific feature or something? In any cases, more choices is always better for the end users, so thank you again.
compatible with 6T ?
This is very exciting ??
Quick question though........ Are the flashing instructions in the op correct as we have A/B partition and which OOS firmware is required before flashing? Many thanks for you hard work.

does Android Auto works with this ROM?
1. Does this ROM support scrolling screenshot?
2. Are navigational buttons configurable?
3. What camera does it come with?
4. Any options to turn off screen besides the power button like in OOS (long press home button, double tap empty desktop)?
forgive my nube-ness, but when it says to flash OOS twice before, what file are you supposed to flash twice?
this one? "9.0.2-PIE-OnePlus6Oxygen_22_OTA_027_all_1810260000_d46787d2c9-FASTBOOT"
Thanks for your patience in my nube-ness

I don't think the ROM is optimized for notched devices.
Icons are going behind the notch instead of the default behaviour.

Try notch hide option in developer settings > display cutout
Hi.
Loving this OS so far. The only 2 issues I have is the following:
1. Icons disappearing under the notch. Notch integration is missing it seems. Hiding the notch in developer options works, but the screen gets too small for my liking then
2. When in call with someone, the loudspeaker is turned on. Pressing the loudspeaker icon does not turn it off. I've tried different phone apps, but it doesn't change. I'm thinking that the microphone isn't detected properly. I can probably grab you a logcat if you want.
1.Thank you, dear, for the work you have done and great effort, but incomplete, I have had some problems, as some of the members have shown here. I hope this will be complete.

3.There is no room for future updates to be done, so we are vulnerable to recovery

(1) your first bug is not Rom issue it's your phone issue u need to flash latest fastboot Rom on your phone. After that flash recovery and flash Rom via internal storage.

Pixy's OS Update
Tryout 1:
Flashed the rom after flashing stock ROM using miflash tool.
Suceeded! But just after 2nd boot the ROM went into bootloop.
Tryout 2:
Reflashed the ROM using TWRP and just after flashing the gapps the ROM started showing some screen glitches after booting up.
Tryout 3:
Reflashed Stock ROM(miflash tool)
then, ROM.
Evry thing well and good. Really stable ROM.
But, I faced one issues that was duing calling, THe Phone app(calling) gets freezed up which hanging up. The same thing I saw in HAVOC OS. So restated everything and tried COSMIC OS.
Till now, far and good. Thanks a lot for keeping the 9.0 versions alive.
A big shoutout to @MaheshTechnicals for the updates.
