Im on pixel experience , getting very slow network but fingerprint is working good.
So will it help if i follow this ghuide?
Current baseband version
M8937_37.13.03.64R

NON-HLOS.bin
Hey. I installed RETEU for XT1793, the version OPPS28.65-37-7-6, the firmware got up to normal, then I installed crDroid v4.7.2 x64 nfc and camera function works. The problem is in the fingerprint, I install the files from the archive (Files4Downgrade) the fingerprint works but the firmware of the communication module flies, the imei disappears, specifically the problem is in the NON-HLOS.bin file. I install this file from the firmware, the connection is working, the fingerprint not working. Who faced How did you solve the problem? Maybe there is an updated file NON-HLOS.bin for OPPS28.65-37-7-6

Unfortunately, this "fix" removes IMEI/baseband from my device (montana), no signal/network on SIM. (Flashed over stock 8.1, and Pixel Experience 9.0).
Had to go back to stock again(via fastboot flash), update to latest version using OTA (wifi) updates, and then I got IMEI (baseband) back.

You can extract these files from your own stock ROM and perform this procedure, may be your variant is different

My device is moto g5s xt1799-2.
I download this file and unzip it.
I see it contain 'NON-HLOS.bin' and 'fsg.mbn' files.
These two files are related to the baseband, IMEI, network, fingerprint. Since moto's baseband can only be upgraded but not be downgraded, if you upgrade it and it's not match your device's firmware, your network and signal will be empty, your IMEI will turn 0.
The only solution is restore the 'EFS' and 'Persist' partitions backup via twrp. So you must make a twrp backup in twrp before you try the method.
Why do I know that? Long story. Ha~ Some apps don't offer 32bit version anymore since early this year. The latest version of those apps don't support my device. Since moto doesn't offer a firmware upgrade for xt1799-2 (the last firmware is android 7.1.1 zui), I need to upgrade my os version. (Actually it doesn't matter with the android os version. The 32bit os version is the problem! ) First I flash the lineageos 18.1, but I see from its website that device should be in 8.1.0 os version, but you know, moto doesn't give our xt1799-2 users. I ignore that and try to flash it. Then it stuck it the lineageos boot animation. Then I search on the net and find if any way to upgrade my xt1799-2 to 8.1.0 oreo, and find a page. I follow the method and upgrade my device to oreo 8.1.0. Since I was new to it at that time, I did follow all the steps it listed and flash the 'NON-HLOS.bin' and 'fsg.mbn' files. Only to find that it's still 32bit os version! One app I use most runs inefficiently in stock oreo 8.1.0 and the os kills my background app. So I want to downgrade to zui 7.1.1 os, and find that my IMEI turns 0 and network signal is empty. Worst of all, the battery drains 3-5% per several minutes (not hour)!!! I even can't unplug my device from the power. Then I search from the web. and do many tests and find out that is because I flash the BP (baseband part: 'NON-HLOS.bin' and 'fsg.mbn' files). And know that moto's BP can only be upgraded but not be downgraded. So I keep the baseband version stay in stock oreo 8.1.0 and only downgrade the AP (system part). Then I found my fingerprint is not working. Then I downgrade the BP and it's back but no signal and IMEI 0. Since I didn't know that issue before and didn't backup the 'EFS' and ‘Persist’ partitions in twrp (I even don't know twrp at that time.). Finally, I search from the net that the solution is to flash a full upper firmware which network, signal, and IMEI are all fine and stay in that version (For my case is moto stock oreo 8.1.0 ). Then make an 'EFS' and 'Persist' backup in twrp.
Thanks to the twrp backup. I flash many third party roms recently (More than 10 roms.) Sometimes when I flash back to stock oreo 8.1.0, I can see my baseband change itself. Like, 57R baseband version for my xt1799-2 in moto stock oreo 8.1.0 everything is fine. But it will change to 57e, sometimes 57U when I flash the AP(system part). Both of them network signals are empty. Then I need to restore my 'EFS' and 'Persist' backup in twrp, power off the device and boot into the system. Then you will see in the 'About phone' page', it's back to 57R, everything is fine again. And you power off not restart, and boot to bootloader, you will see the baseband is back to 57R.
Another weird thing is that I have another moto g5s xt1799-2. I keep the baseband version of it in zui's last firmware 7.1.1(NZS26.68-117) that is 54R. When I flash AP (system part) of stock oreo 8.1.0, its signal it empty sometimes is full, but both can't make a call and surf internet. But when the 54R device flashes a third party 8.1.0 rom, like crDroid and AICP, VoLTE works! But when the 54R device flashes a third party 9.0 and 10 rom, no network signal again! So I don't think it's the matter with the baseband version, otherwise the third party 8.1.0 rom will no signal, but it doesn't happen. VoLTE works in the third party 8.1.0 rom, but not the moto stock oreo 8.1.0 rom.

Aosip for Motorola Z2 Force
What is this?
AOSiP is a quality custom ROM based purely on GOOGLE AOSP source since 6.0 release. Twisted with the latest features and blended with stability. We strive for perfection and it shows.
Obligatory Warning: This guide and ROM assumes you know the fundamentals of fastboot, flashing TWRP, and running a flash all. Your warranty is voided because of the unlocked bootloader. This is a Third Party ROM. Things may not work as expected compared to stock (for better or for worse).
Warning 2: If you can't do fastboot commands, do a flash all, root your device or flash TWRP/ROM, please do not ask for help here. If you cannot flash all back to stock, please stay stock for everyone's sake.
Warning 3: if you don't flash the firmware so you are on Oreo on both slots, when you boot after flashing, you'll be on Nougat firmware and have a brick. Try a flash all as that's your only hope on recovering your phone.
How to install
1. Download the latest ROM from here.
2. Prepare your phone for AOSP style ROMs. (download one of the firmwares depending on your model)
Flash the firmware with the .bat file. (See links below or on Post #2)
3. Boot to TWRP
4. Flash TWRP to boot image (with the zip from their website.) Reboot to Newly flashed recovery.
5. Erase oem, data, and system
6. Flash rom like you would any aosp rom, in twrp.
7. Reboot to bootloader
8. run the command "fastboot -w" (this will erase EVERYTHING from your phone, even internal SD, but is needed to have these ROMs work)
9. reboot.
Whats working?
Wifi
RIL
Mobile data
GPS
Camera
Flashlight
Camcorder
Bluetooth
Volte (T-Mobile)
Change quick charge
Fingerprint reader
NFC
Lights
Sound / vibration
Some motomods (soundboost mod doesnt work)
Team Illusion:
Josh Fox (xlxfoxxlx)
Akhil Narang
Sri Harsha (@srisurya95)
Shreesha Murthy
Brett Montague
Known issues
1. WiFi Calling hit and miss
2. Cannot flash Gapps (included temporarily)
3. some Audio recording apps will not have audio recording work (phone functions fine)
4. if you don't fastboot -w, you will not boot.
5. if you don't flash the firmware your bootloader might relock itself and be stuck on Nougat.
6. SElinux is passive (meaning CTS check will always fail until further notice.)

Bug reports:
If you don't flash the firmware and your other slot is nougat, after flashing the ROM, you'll brick. (Custom ROM with a locked nougat slot.) Your only hope is attempting an official flash all and try again after flashing the firmware zip in the posts above.
Fair warning and off-topic: I am okay with some off topic questions. If you have a question, please use the search function. If I have addressed the question before, I will not answer and advise to find it in the thread. I will report the post for a mod to delete along with my response to keep the thread tidy. It seems some users think this ROM has international support. It doesn't and won't unless someone with another variant or an unlocked T-Mobile/Sprint model tests, confirms and debugs for that international carrier. Please keep in mind of what I said below regarding this. I posted this on page 20 or so and copying here for better visibility.
Your SIM is locked. You are trying to run a phone off it's intended network. Please don't post those problems here. It isn't ROM related. Like the thread states. It works for T-Mobile and Sprint only on their respective models on their locked networks. Any other tom foolery isn't supported and must be kept out of the thread. After this it will be considered off topic.
Edit: if you have Sprint or T-Mobile service and run into issues with using your (albeit, expensive) international roaming plan, I will assist with that if it works on stock but not AOSP. If you don't have a sprint or T-Mobile sim, I cannot help. Almost all devs on this device won't be able to help. "Almost" all of us are on US carriers.

@Uzephi is your device on sprint? Data works but LTE does not? Does the Moto Mods support Hot Swapping? This is great progress and can't wait to see more on this phone.

Motomods work with kernel in ROM (hot swapping should as well iirc, I don't use the mods that often where my projector is outdated) LTE doesn't work on Sprint, but 3G and 1xTT works fine.
@Uzephi if we were to flash your kernel, we would lose motomods support?

For now, yes. Still trying to get it work. Clang is being a PITA on my build box, having to go to Linaro which can't build the Motorola Greybus driver correctly.
Thanks sir, I appreciate what you've done for the community, finally can go back to my moto from a GS8+
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but...
Ive never had to install different firmware before on a ROM. If I install this, will it change the process of installing a different ROM in the future?
Thank you.
Sprint varient if it matters by the way.
Edit: I'm sorry for this but is there a way to do this without the .bat file? currently working on OSX

Open the bat file in a text editor and run each of those commands one by one.
This I'd a dual boot device. Your other slot has the older Nougat bootloader. That firmware flashed the current Oreo firmware to both slots. If you don't do that, and you flash one of these ROMs, you'll reboot to your nougat slot, locked and pretty much screwed without a flash all and luck of being able to flash OEM images in oem mode.
Edit: you won't need to flash this any consecutive times until there is another big firmware update like nougat to Oreo was.

Thank you for the quick reply. I've installed the firmware, but now when I boot to TWRP and try to install the ROM, it instantly fails with ERROR:1. Tried redownloading with a different browser but got the same result. I feel like I'm missing something obvious.

Flash twrp zip to your phone, reboot to your phone's newly flashed twrp recovery and flash the rom. If I remember right, you need to wipe oem and system before flashing the ROM as well. I'll add that shortly.
Up and running! Thank you!! Still looking around but I do see a built in updater. Will this function 100%? By that I mean, when the Sprint LTE issue is resolved and whatever else is coming will be handled by the updater?
Thanks again very excited to play around.

Working fine for me thru Evie Launcher. Soundboost mod is broken though. My SoundBoost is recognized and the notification says the mod is attached, but the volume steps are reduced to on/off and no sound comes out.
Edited to reflect that only the sound boost mod isn't working AFAIK.

Oh, @npjohnson and @invisiblek don't have the sound mod, so they can't get it to work. All of us in the development discord are trying to mail one out, they can't guarantee when it would get fixed.
Edit: added disclaimer to OP. We can only guarantee what we have works. Like when I do my kernel, the only mod I have is the free projector, so that's the only mod I can guarantee works when I do get it working.
I have an extra soundboost I could mail to someone.

Yeah, I am very interested. I tried RR, LineageOS, Viper for other montanas, all crashed after boot back into bootloader. Also I'd be interested getting Oreo based ROMs. So far I m stuck with chinese ZUI 3.1 which prevents me from flashing or installing Gapps.

You can unclock (XT1799-2 may be 'secretly' unlocked already), root your device, flash custom TWRP (escpecially for Moto G5S XT1792/1794 and Green Pomelo XT1799-2) - and then you'll be able to install Open GApps via TWRP/root.
Also you can simply open special Lenovo App Store on your ZUI-based phone (look for it carefully!), install Google Store's apk from out there - and be enjoying with any GApps and other official apk's.

If you will flash bootloader version 07 (not 06 as you have on any available ZUI stock ROMs), you'll be able to flash distinct Oreo firmware (XT1792 for Brasil/India/EU) in straight way (thread 1; thread 2). BUT YOU'RE GOING TO LOSE NFC and SELFIE-CAMERA in cause of special drivers lack!!! And you will have no way for downgrading of firmware in cause higher version bootloader.
* also you would prefer to flash Moto G5s' stock Android 7.1.1 firmaware (XT1794) on your Green Pomelo (XT1799-2), using this manual.
** stock Green Pomelo's ZUI-based Android 7.1.1 firmware you can find here

Thanks a lot! I was unable to Flash Gapps 7.1 in TWRP due to incorrect architecture error. I see that Oreo original ROM will probably never arrive to this phone, so I'll stick to 7.1. What buzzes me the most is that there is no custom rom compatible with XT1799 without losing some of its extra functions. I wonder how hard it will be to port Lineage, RR or similar to enjoy. I've been always using custom roms and now I feel kinda left out

careful with flashing other moto g5s model roms on the xt-1799-2, its different and so you might get a brick. The best you can do is port like i said. You can unlock bootloader by "fastboot oem flashing" if that doesnt work for you try "fastboot oem unlock". I will be back on the pomelo xt-1799-2 soon as i am planning to order another one. Infact you guys will need a section dedicated to the xt-1799-2

I agree, a since it is a slightly different phone a independent section can be great. Now, I am not a developer, so things like porting ROMs is not in my skillset, but I understand that selfie cam and nfc will not work on any custom ROM even if ported simply due to driver issue. I have rooted my phone previously, so I was past unlocking. Problem was that I soft bricked moment I pressed 'factory reset' - the phone would just endlessly keep booting into recovery mode, which was strange as it had stock ROM updated by reseller into a global version. Then I tried to flash various custom ROMs without any luck. Pretty much tried any Montana ROM I could find, but as I said, I don't know how to port so I got stuck in recovery loop. Then I found out about Oreo project and tried to fastboot flash that. That was a major mistake. It upgraded bootloader to 7 without me realising this. I found out nfc and selfie camera not working, so I wanted to downgrade to stock chinese firmware and just install gapps manually. After I fastboot flashed the nougat firmware - my phone hard bricked and won't even respond it seems dead. Thus your link will not help. Anyway I am already on a mission to try to revive it using following method: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75932514&postcount=1
Thank you anyway and if by chance you stumble upon some cool compatible ROM or to be honest a ROM that works really good - I don't really need NFC, but fingerprint scanner, turbo charger, selfie camera and reasonable battery management (some ROMs apparently drain it too quickly) would surely be features to keep. Also, if you have at hand a guide on how to port these roms which I can learn, I'd be very grateful.
Thank you

At the moment you could use TWRP menu* 'Reboot - Bootloader' to boot in Fastboot Flash Mode (yes, it's bootloader) - and then press Power button (with 'START' tag in front of it).
But you have preferred to experiment ... You lost bootloader in due of custom 'chinese suppliers' firmware (non-original ROM) and forbidden factory reset with it.
* if you had stock recovery, you need to change mode with Volume buttons to Fastboot Flash Mode - and do the next steps in the same way; also you would be able directly to boot in Fastboot mode (bootloader) using long press Power button + Volume Down button

I warned you in straight way at that my post with a load of links to instructions and threads ('... you will have no way for downgrading of firmware in cause of higher version bootloader ...'). But you are bustler and illiterate, pardon me. By the way... do you know English or just use Google Translate?
* I have some unapproved info that OPP28.65-37[-2] firmware even uses bootloader version 12 (BL: BC12)

Yes, it may be will help you to boot in Fastboot menu. Please, read all method instructions carefully (RTFM!!!), don't experiment on your own risk/luck.
On Russian forum we have some examples of 'reviving' XT1799-2 with XT1794 mmcblk0.img - but it's the question of bootloader version and disk partition. May be now you have either bootloader version 06 and partition again or corrupted/mixed software or something else, so may be you'll be need to use distinct XT1799-2 mmcblk0.img. I have it ('Repair' folder), but there aren't any proved mentions of it's compatibility / applicability / integrality - all our XT1799-2 'bricks' were re-covered with XT1794 mmcblk0.img finally.
If you know Russian language or wanna risk to translate with Google Tranlsate (omg, please, don't do that ) - you may use Russian 4pda forum because at this very moment it has the most full load of info about XT1799-2 flashing and repairing (yes, all Slavs are misers and adventurers) not in Chinese language.
dmilz, I sincerely beg your pardon for messing up in your RR port thread

Well as irony had it, I did the operation literally seconds before I have read your warning. I was desperate of being stuck in either chinese rom or recovery loop. Anyway, I am amidst of transferring mmcblk0.img for XT1795 to my SD drive via Rufus. Problem is that it won't let me to choose GPT only MBR, so I hope that can still work. Another problem is that I don't how to check the actual bootloader version I am having there installed right now should I manage to get there.

The version of installed bootloader you can check in Fastboot Flash Mode (bootloader as actually, Power + Volume Down buttons pressing and so on).
The version of non-installed firmware you can find into special '.info' file, for example: file 'MONTANA_RETCN_NZS26.68-108_cid11_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC_montana_retcn.info' inside ZUI-based MONTANA_RETCN_NZS26.68-108 ROM has this line:
Code:
MBM Version: BC.06
I used Win 10 and Rufus on XT-1799-2 using XT-1794 and 95 files, both holding power button for over 1min but screen remained black (

Because there were Android 7.1.1 images of mmcblk0 with corresponding partition and bootloader version (BC.07; and you may be need BC.08-BC.12 at this moment :shrugging: ).
Have you tried XT1799-2 mmcblk0.img (7.1.1)?
Have you ever found XT1794 Android 8.1.0-based mmcblk0.img ?

The results so far are underwhelming. I did the operation in Linux following https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75932514&postcount=1 . Dowloaded both .img XT1794 and 95, checked the MD5 and flashed them on my sd card. Neither of them worked. Light was flashing at various intervals, but even after two minutes of holding the power button screen remained pitch black. I downloaded your image file for 1799-2, but ended with the very same result. I have not found XT1794 Android 8.1.0-based mmcblk0.img, yet. Would you know anything about it?

Have you done with your RR port for xt1799 yet?
I have purchased the xt1799 Green Pomelo, unlocked bootloader, and installed the twrp. I tried to flash many 7.1 Roms that were intended for g5s and always failed. please notify me if you are still working on the port.

Looking to flash OK Pie on P9 Any help would be appreciated.

Hi guys, like the title says. I'd like to flash OK Pie onto my old but still working P9 but after so, so much time i have forgotten everything I did to my phone to get to where I currently am. I've been searching for specifics to my situation but the guide to go from EMUI 8 to OK Pie is complicated enough as it is. If I have to factor in the "back to stock" procedure etc I think my brain would explode xD
So I'm looking for any links, guides, personal help or WHATEVER may help me at least get to chinese OREO 9I think I'm capable of taking it from there)
My current setup:
EVA-L09
Build number: EVA-L09C432B378
EMUI version: 5.0
Android: 7.0
My phone is from Latin America, So IIRC I unbranded it, changed it to cust 432 and flashed the latest (stock) firmware which at the time was B378.
I also have TWRP (the latest one) installed. If I got it right, I THINK I need to go back to stock recovery, flash the latest FW and go to Chinese OREO from there before trying to flash OK Pie, right?
Could somebody please be so kind as to either help me or at least point me to a thread/guide made for idiots such as myself xD that can walk me through the steps of going from my FW to stock recovery and stock latest FW?
I'll manage to get to oreo and custom after that.
I appreciate your help in advance.
Thanks.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that yes. I kept my unlock code so thats no problem
Thanks again!

General link for Open Kirin ROMs
https://openkirin.net/user_guide/openkirin-rom-installation-instructions/
P9 thread for OK ROMs (under the P9 ROMs, Kernels... collection)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/roms-openkirin-aosp-collection-t3828806
In short:
1) You must rebrand and update your L09c432 Nougat to AL10c00 Oreo, it is PRECISELY explained in the OP posts (mainly the post #2, but read #1 - #5 to get better picture) in the corresponding thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/rebrand-update-tool-hwota7-p9-eva-t3820849
2) Once you will be on EVA-AL10c00b540 Oreo, you have to follow the OK installation guide from the first link.
You will have to install OK Omni Pie for Android 8, not for Android 9 (there is no stock Pie for P9)
If you search for Pie in the given two XDA threads (Search box at top- right on any XDA page), you will find that many people have undergone (and some returned back from OK Pie to stock Oreo) with no problems - but it is important to carefully follow the guides, first for rebranding and installing the Chinese stock Oreo, then to install OK ROM EXACTLY as described on their site (common guide for all OK ROMs and for all Huawei phones when already updated to the stock Oreo)

Hi, thanks for replying. I'm aware of the PROCEDURE not so sure about the "how to".
Thats why I posted. Your post basically told me what I already knew (and talked about in my post)
What I'm looking for is help going from my current TWRP/STOCK/ROOTED FW. Back to full stock so I can start updating the ORIGINAL FW. I can't find any info on how to go back to stock recovery for instance. Do I need a specific recovery for the FW I'm running? Is it generic? Where do I find it? How do I flash it? Where do I get the stock firmware? (Huawei firmaware finder?) Which one do I flash? Does flashing the stock firmware automatically flashes the stock recovery? Things like that. I appreciate you trying to help but I already read and knew the things you linked to. My issue is, like I said: going back to stock before I can follow any guide to go up to oreo.
Thanks anyway!

If rooted by Magisk, there is Uninstall option in Magisk Manager, it will unroot.
Similarly SuperSU had an Unroot/Unistall option.
In both cases you can flaslh back the stock Boot partition but it is cleaner to unroot by using their Uninstall options.
From TWRP or Fastboot you have to flash stock Recovery (corresponding to your current stock Nougat firmware) to revert back from TWRP
Generally, if you download from FirmwareFinder update.zip corresponding to your current stock Nougat (must be from FullOTA-MF or FullOTA-MF-PV), unzip, then by using Huawei Update Extractor, you can extract Boot.img and Recovery.img that you can flash then from Fastboot or from TWRP to go back to stock Boot and to stock Recovery
Once you go back to stock Boot and Recovery, you can boot to eRecovery (switch off, connect to charger, keep pressing Vol+ and boot by Pow) and choose Download latest firmware and recovery
----
But in fact, since you already have TWRP, use the HWOTA method from this post to update to c432b504 or b505:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75787151&postcount=2
You can do the same with HWOTA7 from the corresponding thread I gave you (before you will go to rebrand to AL10c00b399).
In both cases, you have to download three update*.zip files for eg L09c432b504 (must be FullOTA-MF), rename one or two of them as described in the OP posts (be careful, some people have Windows 10 that hides zip extension and they wrongly rename files to have double zip extension and then HWOTA/HWOTA7 scripts cannot find the file and fail to flash resulting with half-brick), put them to DLOAD file on the SD card and follow the guides

Btw, no one should have the "hide extensions for known file types" checkbox marked...
Edit: Should I flash the same FW version Im currently using and then update regularly? To prevent any issues? (Cause i noticed there are some rules as to the version jumps that can be made flashing like this...

It must be the same model and cust, c432, but safer if you also apply the same build number (b387 ?)
Once you are back on stock you should start receiving OTA updates (have WiFi and a valid SIM card). Give it some time but check also manually from Settings / System updates.
As mentioned in my previous post, you can also use eRecovery / Install latest fw and recovery (if OTA coming slow), and there is a similar option in HiSuite. You will probably not need to use HWOTA or HWOTA7 to jump from clean stock b386 up to b50x

Hi again. First of all I would like to thank you agaib for your help. You made the process so much sinpler and quixk for me and I do apprexiate it.
Second, I updated to the latest "original" fw for my c432 phone OTA but then had to modify the HWOTA7 procesa so I could dl and install the latest/latest fw (because it wouldnt even register when searching for it) I used huawei fw finder to verify it and dl.
After that I went to chinese Oreo, flashed the network fixes and installed a TINY OTA update which fixed some sexurity issues apparently (thankfully it went Ok cause I THINK flashing OTA in a "converted" phone is a big nono?)
Anyways, I ended up on omni pie (the latest beta whixh is 5.2 I believe) as going AOSP was the whole point of this endeavor.
So far I'm LOVING it. Its such a refreshing thing not having to deal with all the bs OEMs bake into their roms... But Im experiencing a couple of issues as well. Not sure if its the rom, my phone or the android version (particularly my issue with battery life since I was having issues with the duration way before I updates, actually that was one of my motivations for updating since I read that pie had better battery management)
Anyway, my issues are as follow. Hope you can help (once again)
Battery life SUCKS (like really, it went from bad to terrible... Not sure if stock oreo would make it better, or perhaps omni pie needs some optimizations?)
The camera (huawei one, not sure about the aosp) has issues. Multiple issues. The biggest one being that if I try to go from back to front camera the app locks in a black screen and I have to go into the app, delete data, reboot the phone and relaunch it (and that doesnt fix it everytime)
The last issue is with pop messages from apps and/or settings. Sometimes, when installing and app and/or changing aome setting a white popup shows up with ONLY an OK option. I cant read anything on the popup. Everything is white. Not sure if its an issue with the theme (I changed from default to "hell" or something like that) but it is VERY annoying not knowing what youre agreeing to.
Last but not least I have a question about the stock rexovery, factory reset and flashing new versions of omni (if and wheb they come out)
In one of the steps for flashing omni the guide asks to perfomr a factory reset from the stock rom. Thing is, it doesnt work. I mean, when I confirm the factory reset the process starts and approximately at 15% an exclamation sign appears and the process percentage stops working. I can reboot the system and everything works fine (using the phone to post this actually) but Im left with that feeling of not knowing why something failed... You know what I mean? Is that nornal?(the failure to factory reset, not the feeling ) also, does factory wiping the phone removes root access? Or does it only renove magisk manager?
Also, if I ever wabt to update the rom (not change it mind you, but flash the next beta or stable or whatever they come up with) do I need to flash the stock recovery again? (Currently rooted with magisk) or is it a separate partition? (Sinxe I had to modify the ramdisk and not flash a custom recovery) also, will I need to do the whoooole thing again? (Backup everything, restore tk factory etc etc) or is it just like with lineage for exanple where you could flash and updatr and keep your data untouched?
Thanks for EVERYTHING my friend. And I hope you can answer my questions (particularly the ones about battery life and thebfactory reset issue since Im planning on doing one last factory reset before settling with the rom. Just waiting for my new micro sd. The one that will stay in the phone)
Sorry for the typos. Writing this huge post on a phone is a PITA.

This small OTA bringing Patch02 over b540 installs even over TWRP (but that was not the case for OTA from eg b535 to b540)
Cannot discuss/compare battery for Omni Pie, since not using Omni
Problem with Camera app does not show on stock Oreo. Even if the app was somehow ported from Huawei, there are maybe problems with integration to Omni.
Various Huawei/Mate models come with different cameras, but there is only one OK Omni ROM (with one Camera app) given to work on all Huawei/Mate models
Btw, somebody else also complained about issues with Camera (and GPS) and decided to go back to stock Oreo.
Similarly, issues you described about black notifications or so must be related to the custom ROM, theme or so.
As a general rule:
- for installing OK ROM, you flash System partition, and nothing else
- you also wipe Data partitiom (containing all your installed apps, incl Magisk Manager, also containing your user settings)
It does not affect any other partition.
Therefore, changes given by NW patch persist - without, you will have (also in that OK ROMs) problems with SIM card(s) and connecting to the network
Also, Magisk, which was flashed to Ramdisk, persists. You must only install Magisk Manager again, because it is user apo, installed to Data partition that was wiped
You must check on the OK side how they advice installing the updates of OK ROMs
(It is questionable if they will get updates any more, since OK team switched to development of ROMs which install over the stock Pie, whereas on P9 you have no stock Pie - only Oreo, and most likely, we will never see stock Pie for P9.
Just check when OK team released last ROM for stock Oreo, and compare with their releases of OK ROMs for stock Pie:
https://openkirin.net/download/
Hence IMO, for updating the OK ROM (if/when it comes), you will again just need to flash its System and to wipe Data (and then to reinstall user apps like Magisk Manager).
Hopefully, you can backup and restore some apps and settings by Titanium.
Whether you don't need to wipe Data for such update - check from the OK support.
On the Open Kirin site you will find Support pages (Faq, HowTo) and also a link to the live Telegram channel

Mates! for newbies specially Sprint,TMO and Atn&t users I know you are sad to hear that you won't get stock Pie update and you have been watching threads here on XDA showing how to flash captured Stock Pie of Verizon/Brazil variant on your Sprint ,at&t TMO variants this very important to know that DO NOT UPDATE/FLASH 9.0 Pie update of Verizon/Brazil variants. Otherwise you will loose your IMEI, Baseband N, modem. AND definitely NO WIFI and there is turning back
That update only works for Verizon/brazil variant devices which are getting updates by Motorola it's not for sprint at&t tmo etc THIS ONLY WORKS FOR VARIANTS WHICH ARE ANNOUNCED BY MOTO.
Reasons: when you flash stock pie your Oreo modem is replaced with Pie modem which doesn't matches to your variant which results in loosing of imei, base band and wifi.
Even if you try to flash back oreo with a clean flash you may be able to use your stock oreo but due to pie modem you won't be able to downgrade to your oreo modem and in result your imei baseband will still be gone with pie and there is no solution haven't been found yet.
Please if you really want to use pie there are other custom roms like Dirty Unicorns, CR Droid,Havoc and Lineage OS use them till the developers found an solution for this problem. Thank you!
just don't flash modem,see no problems.sprint - pie
Can at&t ariants flash it?
As it is locked...

Considering that I've tried to flash the Verizon Pie Image on my Z2 force, and nearly made it useless, how did you do yours? Flashing the Indian Variant?

So.....you flashed everything but the modem files and everything works for Sprint? I'd assume you didn't flash the bootloader?
Basically want to know which files you flashed and what issues you've seen if any. Much appreciated ??

work fine for me. some bugs with wifi (quick connect disconect sometimes)
battery better. twrp * magisk + gpay ) gcam last works perfect. motocamera & motoprojector ? moto verve buds work
Just came to me....there might be a way to revert back firmware. Way back in 3vo 3d days there was a Boost mobile update that had a newer Android version then what the Sprint people got. So many of us flashed it and had problems. And couldn't revert back.
The best kernel dev I've seen to date (name cannot be given due to settlement between him an xda) found he could hex edit the previous bootloaders version number to be post the Boost version, which then allowed it to flash. And we could then revert back to the Sprint firmware/ROM. I don't know how Moto checks or limits firmware flashing, but just an idea?
I have same problem but i had Lineage OS Backup and flashed it. Now I have normal Lineage OS on Partition B and Lineage OS with Problem on Partition A. (Official Rom only uses A partition, Lineage OS supports A/B partition update). I don't know if there is any way to copy B partition IMEI and Baseband on Partition A.

Moto x4 custom rom install in XT 1900-2

I have been using my Moto x4 since 2017 running stock ROM. Now, Moto has stopped android updates to x4. So, I decided to try android 10 based pixel experience ROM from XDA. But, I have some doubts.
Previously, I have used a Xiaomi device and I had experience with installing custom rom. But, for moto I am confused. Please correct me if I doing something wrong.
Steps to follow:
1.Unlock bootloader.
2. Install twrp.
3. Install copyparitions zip file. ( Id this file suitable to my device? Because, android one variant has 3gb, 32 gb storage, am using 4gb, 64gb variant. Does it causes any trouble?
4. Install firmware. ( My device running on android 9, with latest security patch of sep 2019..ppw.29.69.40.4. so, do I need to install firmware.
5. Backup EFS etc.
6. Install pixel experience zip.(pixel plus)
7. Reboot to bootloader.
8. Install twrp
9. Install gapps. ( I wished to install gapps from open gapps, which contains nearly stock Google apps. Can I use aroma variant).
10. Reboot to system.
After installation: (without rooting)
a. Can I use google pay, and banking apps. Is it safe.?
b. Which camera is got installed? Gcam 7.0+ or Moto camera.
How was the bugs, battery performance?
Thanks in advance.

Very much thanks bro. As I have said, I'll be running unrooted. Does it require root permission for running banking apps like gpay?

So, is it not required to flash firmware before flashing pixel experience rom? Kindly reply.
Is there anyone who have qcn or efs backup , if you have then can you provide that for Moto X4 or say (XT1900-2)
